Gettin' colder here, too. 5* TOMorrow night, teens tomorrow. 33 now.
Kathym my dgs crowed too! My ex raised game roosters, and Trey' dilighted in crowing at them and them answering back! He could mimic a kitten and you'd look for the kitten, he was so good at it. I can just see him strutting to crow, and I bet Pam does, too!

Well, ladies... talking about screaming kids in public makes me think...
I could take my kids anywhere, and always be proud of them. But, when my grandkids came along, it was just the opposite. I think one difference was that when I took my kids out, it was like a treat to them.. We didn't eat out very often, and I usually did my shopping when they were in school, or on the way home before picking them up from day care. When the occasion would arise that I did need to take them with me, they were so proud to go, they were always on their best behavior. At restaurants, in the event I had to do any discipline, I would take them from their chair and take them outside... swat them... then wait for them to suck it up before going back to the table... I rarely had to do that.
My granddaughters were a totally different story since their mother never believed in discipline of any kind. They were always drug around everywhere, all times of the day and night. When they were babies, I think they just got fussy from being tired... then as they got older, I think it was just a habit they were never taught to break. THEY WERE those kids that caused you to leave the building just to get away from them.
Just my 2 cents...
The worst is when you're on an airplane and stuck in the seat in front of them....OMG! They kick the seat and are loud and obnoxious....drives me crazy, cause the parents never say Stop it!
I turn around and tell them to STOP-I DO NOT have the patience to deal with stuff like that...I am a baaaaadddd person!!
When my boys were little and started that crying, I said, wait a minute. I need to get a jar, and collect the tears. It got their attention, and quit crying.
Bj, how you doing? You got everything ready for your "son"?
Will I ever be really ready? Um, I think I'm as ready as I'm gonna be... I think... maybe not... don't know. I'm a bit anxious about it, but it's going to be nice having him here... I will be a bit busier than usual... but that's not a bad thing.
Good morning sweet Sistahs and Nieces!
Ain't misbehavin' here. Being good and the wonderful part is back to sewing. First day to attempt that new tread mill.. gonna set it to 0.01 mph :D
Good to see you back Cris. Jax (Joyce).. I did send you a personal invite to the swap, just don't miss out next year's okay? BTW, did you sign up for the Valentine swap?
So.. to discipline or not to discipline? Me and my ex raised 2 boys for a few years... they can attest to the fact that I believe in discipline.
They needed to know b-o-u-n-d-a-r-i-e-s. In fact, I dare them to call the social services.. and they know that if they did, they won't get the lavish rewards when they excel at expectations.
Trisha, Kel sent out the main package yesterday. Those froggies are just the fun part.. you'd soon get your serious gifts :D
Hope you all are staying warm, supposed to drop to the the 20's! Again, I thank you all for the good thoughts and prayers. Great to be alive and loved!!!

Jaye, so nice to see you back to posting. Was it your sugar levels that put you in the hospital? Please take care,a nd don't over do it. What are you sewing on?
I am trying to find a quilt square for the black and white swap. I have done, let me rephrase that. I have tried to do 4 different designs, and so far, I have not figured out any of them, so it is back to the drawing board. I will get it figured out, I just need time. Guess it would help, if I left the computer for a bit huh?

No, it's not sugar related LK. Had severe chest pains and prolonged shoulder pains as well. Doc just had to make sure it's not cardiac related. Somehow I must have done something that caused the pain or slept in a wrong position.
I love to blame it on Lola our Chi. She loves to sleep on my chest, always wanted me to carry her around and use my chest as a springboard too!! So.. that could also aggrevate the pain!!
LK, you'll find something.. just think 13!!!
May I have your undivided attention please. I just got 2 boxes of things from our dear Sisiter Cathy! All I can say is WOW!!!! Many times over, and I can't even say Thank you enough times. I just kept pulling things from the boxes.
So I will start with the beautiful Thomas Kinkade night light.
It is very beautiful.
Cathy, thank you so much for all the wonderful pressies.
So hold on to your fabric stashes, as I post the pictures please.

I am still here yall.......just with the kids having snow days and delays.
what started the screaming kids talk? My kids behave or ELSE, in public. :) We are both old fashioned in our beliefs. Basically we saw kids our friends had and how they behaved and remember how we always behaved and decided our parents must have gotten things closer to right than our friends. We just wanted to be able to go places and with six kids we needed control. That is not to say that my kids arent sassy and stuff at home and that they are perfect all the time......but in public I could count on one hand how often they have misbehaved.
I looked back and couldnt find the original story was it on the other thread?
Yall sure are getting some nice loot from your sistahs.
BTW-my 2009 buddy will get something that is sort of "some assembly required"-it required a humidity level of less than 50% to set and with all the snow we haven't had that low of of humidity levels-it takes 3 days to set:(
Morning everyone. Stacey, I don't anyone will mind putting something together for you. How was your drive to work today?
Down here, my husband works at the base, and has to put explosives on the ejection seats for the airplanes, and right now, it is too dry to do it, so they all just find other jobs to do.
How is everyone doing today?
Heather 6 kids, Wow, you do stay busy!
Guess I will put on the coffee, for anyone in need. Please help yourself.
I will be gone this afternoon, for a dentist appointment. I have a molar that needs attention.
LK
The drive was slick, but I made it in safely...thanks for asking...
My kids weren't to bad in public, either. But my sisters only child, my niece, saw a doll she wanted and pitched a fit! She got under a table and cried and screamed : "I want my Daddy!"
(They were divorced) She bought the doll. I would have jerked a knot in her tail!
New room above ladies!! Please join us there..
