Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Jaye, we WERE very worried about you, Sistah. Could you give someone Kel's cell phone number for just such an emergency as this? Kathy and I exchanged our DHs numbers so if it were to happen to one of us, he could fill us in on what is going on.

Yeppers, I'm headed to BJs house and you know the old saying the more the merrier!
BJ has gratiously opened her house for a Sistahs (and nieces) union. That's like a reunion, only it's the first time. ^_^ It is over Memorial Day weekend. She has a big house and lives on a lake and we are going to go and meet and have fun. Guaroneteeeeeed! There are a lot of us planning on going, but I am the first one with a confirmed flight. When you go FF you have to get your seat early, or it takes too many miles. Anyone who wants to come is invited. How'd I do BJ?

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Looks good to me Joyce. I am 90% sure I will be there. Always something comes up and I have to cancel but come hell or high water I will. I just have to make sure someone is here for my yard birds. Dang got rid of the kids (he he he) and now I can travel...........then I go get these chickens.

SO GLAD you are back with us Jaye. Sorry you had to stay in the hospital, yes you would think they do not need to check on you every hr on the hour how is one suppose to rest with all that going on. Maybe steal one of them hotel signs next time "DO NOT DISTURB". T&P's are with you sistah, get some rest.

BJ, I know the divorce thing about hubby and wife working on projects at home. I try to just stay out of his way when he wants to do something then if it is not done like I want it I change it. Usually he will do it my way. Or I like the way he does it. I went to an auction last night he stayed home and cleaned up the kitchen and made dinner (I had the brown beans cooking) he made the fried taters. Now I can not find where he put all the dishes he unloaded from the dishwasher. Oh well!!!!!!!!!!! He left me the laundry tho!!!!!!!! Gotta love em.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm going to start practicing my huggs right away! Let's see BJ and Don and now Tina...
^_^

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

You did great, Joyce... thank you.

Well... I would redo it if he screws it up... but that's just not possible this time. You see, when we first moved in here, there were these two drawers by the sink that I thought were the ideal spot to keep the silver ware. Well, I could not find those organizers that would fit in those drawers, so I found the wooden inserts that have these grooves that slip together ... sort of a build your own thing. A little finiguring, and a dab of glue here and there... and they were perfect. Well, they didn't last, broke in places... jimmied themselfs up and silver ware was sliding under the wooden slats into the next section until finally, about 6 months ago, I ripped them all out, and the silver ware have just been all mixed up in the drawers since then.
Ok, so now it's Don's turn to have a stab at it. And we can't agree on how deep to make it. He wants to make the dividers as deep as the drawer... and I told him that reaching in to get the last fork in the section would be impossible... I told him that half way up the drawer is enough. He said that's creating wasted space... I said I don't care. He flailed... I rolled my eyes (like a teenager)... and we walked away from it for a bit.

He's gone to Lowe's... this might get very interesting before the day is over.

Ok, back to the grind stone... I'm doing laundry too, Tia Tina... are we having fun yet?

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Was just skimmin through to see if Jaye was back before I leave, have to take mom to the doctor, her leg keeps giving out on her..........

Jaye you take care, and yes I agree you need to give at least one of the sistahs Kels number, we were all very worried about you......continued prayer to you both, (Got all my little Froggie Goodies!!!!!! Hugs!!!)

Talk to everyone later.................

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

LOL BJ sounds just like my house. I can only laugh because I know EXACTLY how you are dealing with it. My word is WHATEVER, usually will get my way eventually.

OMG laundry, Mine and hubbies is easy but then Punk boy has enough clothes to clothe half of a 3rd world country. His mom, I have been on here behind to do it. I am sick of looking at it so will do his next!!!!!!!!!! Then the nasty dogs need a bath. I have one the poodle that has decided someone else house is better than ours so he stays there and comes back looking like he rolled in a fire pit full of black ashes. He is a white with black spots toy poodle. he has the wirey kinky hair.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pain.

Coushatta, LA

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

So glad to hear you are ok, Jaye. Yes, we worry about each other. Especially when our mama hen goes missing. You're the glue that keeps us together!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

My mom spanked me all the time, my grandparents didn't spank me at all and let me tell ya ladies, I had much more respect for my mom. My step-dad's cousin is having a heck of a time with their granddaughter because mom spanks her and they won't, she's 2 and misbehaves so much they can't take her anywhere, but mom doesn't have a problem. Kids know the difference between punishment for doing something bad and a beating for nothing. I believe in the spanking also.

Me and Dave pretty much agree on everything, as we have the same taste, but we will still argue over it. I guess that's just the way married life is supposed to be. He's getting a huge belly on him and he's complaining about it and put himself on a diet, said he's never been this fat in his whole life (ex-body builder talking here him not me lol) I told him that's the sign of a happily married man. He didn't believe me. lol

Jaye I'm glad you are feeling better, you had us all worried girl!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Crissy,

I don't know about the laws in your state, but here in Ca you don't dare spank a kid or you will be charged with child abuse. Yep, my daughter is a preschool teacher and if they see any signs of physical abuse they have to report it asap. And if a child says anything to them about ANYONE hitting them they have to report that too. My cousin lost custody of her 13 year old because she supposedly hit her. She had to do all kinds of classes, anger management, child abuse, etc. Then come to find out she lied about it all, but the damage was done and my cousin was charged with abuse spent 20 days in jail, lost parental rights and has to pay child support now.

As for the fat belly, yep that is the sign of a happily content man, Rick has gained a few pounds since we have been together.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Glad you are ok enough to come home Jaye. Now next time you go a missing like that tell your doc to tell his people to call your people, US! Was your sugar off kilter?

Hey, Cindy, if that's so about fat bellies then my Larry is rolling in happiness!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

LOL that is what I heard, Rick says his from beer. Right now he is pigging out on chips

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Thank goodness Jaye checked in!!!!

I am planning on BJ's-why do you think I haven't quit my job yet?? If I do, that goes right out the window, so I am trudging on and putting a little $$ at a time in my jar:)

Trisha-how cute all your froggie stuff-I got a neat coffee mug from Mexico from a friend-made with sand-just a super neat mug and has a frog on the side....

Kathy-and you wonder why we don't have kids yet!! The screaming kids in the store is why-I can't deal with it-I don't think I have the patience-my mom keeps saying that it is different when they are yours and if you start right from the beginning they wont act out, but I dunno.....I also do NOT agree with all the kids being diagnosed with "ADHD"

Pangburn, AR(Zone 7b)

I posted this earlier, but no one answered it, so I thought I would post it again.

Hi All! So whats going on at Bj's? Did I miss something?

LK... be watching for a couple of boxes about Friday.hehe

Did I win the bird house is the Christmas exchange? Just wondering, because I haven't gotten it yet, so I thought I might have won something else. I am brain dead most of the time, so you can all help me stay caught up. I have short term memory loss and try to write every thing down. But then I forget where I put the list. Total brain fart here!
Going to see if I can get a couple more hours of sleep.
Love and Blessings to all.
Cathy

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I am not sure what you ended up woth from the secret santa-I would double check the threads....

BJ is having a get together at her house for Memorial day that some of us are planning on attending

Sorry for not answering....

Glenview, IL

OH...Thank God, Jaye you are alright.
You are all right, right?

I was thinking it must have been something wierd with your bloodsugar.
probably have to adjust stuff with your new diet and exercise.
At any rate, i am so glad you are ok and posting. Get some rest, see you soon.
Big hugs.

Hi everyone, i amback...lots of cleaning and rearranging of furniture.
Was quite fun. But now I am glad we are done...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Cathy, the bird house that you are suppose to get was from plantRN/Beth. You should dmail her to find out what has happened. I waited all Christmas for some of your fudge that you said we were all going to get :( after the Secret Santa thing.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Cathy, wow, several boxes? I will let you know as soon as they arrive. I would have to go back, and see what you got from the Christmas swap. I don't remember.

LK

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Ok, drawers are done... and they're done my way. HEHEHE... had to properly thank him this afternoon... "ahem"... gotta love the making up part of those disagreements.

Jaye, dear... sorry I rushed off before I realized that you were home, and ok. Sheesh... I agree... please just take it easy... wish one of us was close enough to help Kel take care of you.

Now, I have to tell you girls... I've been busier than a rooster in a hen house... but, hopefully it's come to a slow point for a while. Hope so... cause I have really made some changes around here to make things easier to keep house... but, I've been known to be wrong before... so, we'll see.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi Everyone..

Jaye so glad you are back home and doing well. We all worried about you quite a bit.. Please do check back in when you have a few minutes of time to spare..

My grandmother was released to go home.. My sister took her into ER at 445 this mornig because she couldnt even get up off the couch and was crying from the pain being so bad. Her Rhumatory arthritis is getting soo bad and theres nothing anyone can do.. We had a cold front blow in and that was all it took. I got there to releiev my sister and Grandma was thinking she was wonder woman on morphine.. Arguing with the nures and flirting with the young man who put her patches on under her boobies...lol We set up an appointment tomorrow am for her doctr and she has agreed its time to go to assisted livng.. She was approved in November but when they tld her she had to give up her car and liscense she got mad and said we were all plotting against her.. Luckily she has seen now that its only because we love her and are afraid one of these times we wont be able to get to her. I went and got her prescriptions and my mom left work and is staying the night with her tonight to be sure she doesnt have to many problems when the meds wear off. Thank you all for sayng alittle prayer for her this morning..

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi BJ! So glad you got your drawers done your way...lol Max and I go through the same thing every time we do anything around the house.. He still acts like I cant use power tools and it makes me crazy! I always tell him " I grew up in my daddy's shed playing with scroll saws, table saws, drill and ect what are you afraid of? " He knows better just likes o annoy me I think..

I believe Im going to work on putting togeth ermy own tool box of real tools.. Starting with my dads old wrenches that Max stole away from me... LOL

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I did that when my husband was alive. He was always hollering at me whenever I used his tools. So I bought my own, everything hammer, saws, screwdriver etc. Then I move in here with Rick and he's like "Oh cool" I told him hands off. The other day I went to get a saw and it was gone. I go out to his shed yep there it is. Well he got the what for from me and I was NOT nice about it either!!!! LOL, now he asks if he can use them and I tell him only if he puts them back where they belong......^_^

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Cindy You have mail.. LOL Im so glad I was allowed to share with you!
Yup I need my own tools.. Im tired of our tools.. He said I can get you that walmart pink set and I laughed at him.. Was helping my friend do some work (she ripped her drywall down but didnt know how to put it back up ). Well after a few months I deecided I was dragging her to Lowes to get supplies and I was going to teach her...lol 10 Minutes in and I broke her little pink hammer in half..ROFL Ended up going to Kmart buying a real ammer and finishing the wall that next night.. She didnt learn anything but I had fun doing it since Im not aload here at home..

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I am so glad to see Jaye is home and hopefully doing well. I do agree someone needs Kel's number so we don't have so many "gray" hairs from worrying!!!!! Thank goodness for the wonderful bottles of Clariol!! LOL

Cindy and Donna, I now have my late hubby's tool --well those my son left for me. Some he just decided I didn't need and he would come do what needed to be done. He is fairly good about most things but does have his own home restoring. My Mom and sister gave me a drill set for one of my birthdays and I have really enjoyed that!!! Donna, putting up drywall is no fun!! I helped my son do it where I had ripped out some dark brown/black paneling. Ripping out was easy but drywall was something else. Well maybe it was who I was working with--a perfectionist!!

Hello Tinky, haven't heard much from you lately. How goes it in cold snowy Michigan? Now don't let other people's children stop you. Yours will be different--all your aunties will be there to help--spoil them that is!!

I am planning on going to BJ's, too. Trying to talk Deborah into riding out with me--oh the trouble we could get into--stopping at all the nursery, fabric stores and anything else that caught our eyes. Donna, you should come to my house and drive out with us--think about that.

Where is Tina from MB? Waving Tina, hope you are doing okay--staying warm and dry. Cold weather I think has finally found us and I am loving it! Predicted the upper 20s tonight but lower by the end of the week. Bring on the comforters and just cozy down.

Debra how is the wedding progressing. Just don't stress--vent to us as we can't have the MOB not at her finest.

Waving to everyone. Stay warm and dry. Had a dental appointment today and now my jaw hurts--not fun. Thank goodness that is over for 6 more months.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Marion drywall is a bear.. We have been busy hanging it in the bathroom and mudding the walls. Im so excited to see it whaen its done but Max is making me crazy... I wanna help so bad but all I get to do in there is pound a few nails and help measure.. uggghhh I love to buid and create with my own two hands..

Umm trip to BJ's when are you all going? If I plan ahead I may be able to ride along.. Just have to see how things look.. We have the kids and Maxs work scehdule is crazy. never been away from home without the kids but could be lots of fun.. Would require some work but I could probably pull it off since I work from hme.. Besides I too want to meet everyone else!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I gave all of my husbands big saws to Rick and boy he loves it. He has been cutting out doll house pieces for the last 4 or 5 days. This isn't a very big pix.

Fairy I haven't had kids either because of the same reason! In fact, one of the gals I work with is a grandmother to a 3 year old who was born without the tube that you swallow down, asophagus I guess, and she has all kinds of problems. Anyway, GG had to take her to the dr today, this gals daughter and son in law are not nice and GG pays for everything and has nothing of her own because of it. Anyway, take the baby to the dr and it was, got to go pee pee 4 times in 20 minutes while GG was trying to fill out paperwork, became a big issue and she looked at me and said, "Now why is it Christine that you don't want kids??" LOL I was cracking up!

LOL Cindy I know what you're talking about, I don't know the laws here but I think they're the same. I haven't been here long enough LOL! I bet his eyes lit up like moons when he saw those tools! Whip him into shape girl!

Wow Cindy did he make those?

Pangburn, AR(Zone 7b)

Cindy...... I have not forgotten your fudge. November and December have been very bad months. I can not stand for more than 15 to 20 minutes without excruciating pain in the center and lower parts of my back and my legs. I have an appointment in Little Rock January 26th (the soonest they could get me in) with a special neurologist and neurosurgeon.
Right now, the prognosis doesn't look too good. Meanwhile, I am to take my demoral, soma, tylonal4, valium, and stay off of my feet.
I tried the ThermaCare heat wrap that goes around your back. I had to have DH take it off after just 2 hours. It was just too hot. When he pulled it off, it took several layers of my skin with it. Now they are just draining sores. My Doctor gave me some medicine to put on them and told me never to use them again.
Like I said, I have not forgotten your fudge, but right now, it is not on the top of my priority list.
If I took enough pain pills to stand at the stove stiring and pouring the fudge, (that takes up to an hour and a half) I would probably fall face first in the fudge pan.
As soon as my back is better, I will send you your fudge.
Now its pain pill time again, and I have to lay down, I have already been sitting in this desk chair too long.
Cathy

Cats O my .> I will say an extra prayer for your apointments and health.. Bless you or even being able to make fudge.. I ruin it every time i try. . If you have a fail proof recipie I wil try to make it and send some to Cindy for you..

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

OH no Cathy, I was just kidding. No you are #1 you take care of you first. Donna that is okay. I got plenty of fudge over the holidays. I've just heard so many good things about Cathy's fudge that I wanted to taste some.

Rick is just now cutting out all of the pieces for the house. He told me that he has to have the dinning room table when he starts putting it together, lol. So now I have to clean off my desk in my hobby room so I can do my crafting. My DGD b-day is July 11, he doesn't think he has enough time to get it done. I'm making the doll clothes.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Here Schools etc. can't but Parents can spank their children, you cannot hit them so hard you leave marks! I was good friends with a member of our local police force....he got me to listening to a police scanner just about 24/7......got a call one night from an 8 year old who said his mother was abusing him....Burt went to the call....a short time later he told dispatch that the"abuse" was well within parental rights and he had had a talk with the young man.......mom gave the kid a swat......Burt threatened to give him another one!!!

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Cindy Im sure your DGD will be soo happy.. I cant imagine th ereation comming from a gift like that.> How wonderful..

(jax) Dundalk, MD(Zone 7a)

i was out getting ice foer my cup...and i missed another good swap!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, love the doll house. Wow, that is a lot of work, to do wood work, that small. Nice job Rick!
Cathy, so sorry to hear that your back is giving you fits! I hope the Dr, can fix it, and soon! I had lower back surgery in 2000, so I think I know what you are going through. Not fun.
Marion, glad to hear you survived the dentist appointment.
Bj, glad you kissed, and uh hum... made up! BLUSH!
Hope everyone gets a good nights sleep. Stay warm.
LK

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Getting read to go see if my shoulder is up to spin class tonight .....goodnight to a lot of you, to the rest talk to ya later!!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

BJ, glad you got your drawers done the way you like them but, girlfriend - TMI! ROTFL!

Donna, it's good that your grandmother came to the decision on her own. She may decide she likes it there after making some friends.

Marion, DD and I had our dresses fitted today. It's starting to feel real!

My 2009 gift is 95% done! Might even make the new deadline.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Trisha.. I had to go read what I had missed.. Wow what an ordeal..

I remember when Tony was being diagnosed ADHD.. Was horrible and yes we tried verything including spanking but it did no good at all. He was out of control and hated all of us. His doctors tried him on every med there was all of which gave him one or another nasty side effect. I thought I was going to lose my mind and really wanted to know what happened to my sweet little boy.. Then I tried a natural remedy after reading study about the effects of Fish Oil on patients who had everything from depression to ADHD even skitsofrenia (sp?).. They were taken off all meds and started on Fish Oil and the problems went away stayed as long as they continued taking it.. The Study was in Discovery Magazine and truly was amazing.. Within 6 months Tony was back to straight A's and the sweet boy I love today! I even take one every morning and it makes me feel better and what the heck its good for me..

Schools here and laws are the same as you stated above. Max is a Ham Radio operator so I here alot of the calls when he is around. They did encript alot from the police now but we still here a good bit. Th epolice do what they can but the kids in this town are out of control. Tony wanted to go stay 7 houses away with a new neighbor. Well of cour I wanted to know more about who was there... The child (6th grade) is on house arest and there is no mom in the house from what I have found but there are 2 pit bulls (not nice). Tony didnt know about all this ust met him at the bus stop and was invited over. Needless to say he doesnt even want to talk to him now that I explained what house arrest was.. Kids are calling children services instead of th epolice becaus ethe police basically aer agreeing with the parents who are actually using disapline but they are stuck dealing with the ones who have none and are in trouble.. Very very few good kids .. I feel very fortunate.. Children services need a lesson in humanity and dealing with people.. I know its a hard job but you have to have alittle faith in a good upbringing.. I still wouldnt dare back talk my mom.. She would kick my Butt!

Unfortunately I wish it was more strict up north.. We are still awaiting conact from Ohio about the twins and their mom is hiding from us again not ansewring the phone so Im sure they are involved.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Debrah I think your right about Grandma. Although shes pretty gruchy and demanding so she runs most people off.. People at the barbershop Love her at 10 minutes at a time but they always ask what kind of trouble she is starting.. We Love her and god knows I will probably be alot meaner when Im 84 years old...lol

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Not only do you have to be careful about kids calling reporting abuse--teachers have been having problems with camera on cellphones. Kids take pictures--depicts something that isn't (out of context so to say) then shows parent!! Those should not be allowed in the schools during class. My daughter tells me of these things as some of the pictures are taken so to look like something that just wasn't happening at all. What does one do.
