Oh Linda Kay, I may have stated that incorrectly--I was referring the actual boxes matches came in. The match box cars were my sons and he took those to his home a long time ago.

No, I am having a terrible time with the labels for some reason. All the many years I have done them with no problem but this year it is just a mystery to me. Talk about getting frustrated!!!! That and my cough is about to make me scream--I hate colds and sinus problems.

LK, I drew my pattern using MS Paint. Don't have Electric Quilt program. For what I wanted to do, it's easier to draw it out than looking for the pattern online. Some squares will be prairie braids.

Jaye, you are right, it was "Thomas Crowne" I love the picture of the guy that they keep showing int he bowler hat. I don't usually collect videos but I have to get that one. I laugh every time I see it.

Wow lots of chatter today..

Went in a nd laid down with Max telling myself I needed a nap and I was freezing with a fever.. I went to sleep and didnt wake up until after 1 oclock.> Warmer now , fever gone, took a shower and feel great.. I guess my body just needed a break and since the kids were in school it was okay to get away with..

Heres to hoping I dont start feeling icky again.. So no house work or yard work for me today Im on strike and will be drawing, crafting and enjoying the rest of the day without any work.

I know how you feel Marion, my cold/sinus thing is giving me fits this morning….felt bad last night so took two Tylenol PM and did NOT set my alarm for once…..must have needed the sleep because I didn’t wake up until ten!

afternoon Jaye, BJ ,LK and all the rest of you.....lunch sounds awful but guess I had better feed Bill, he gets cranky when he doesn't get his lunch.

I feel better today. Last night all I wanted to do was try out that winter sowing thing. SO I just did it and realized after I posted my whine that I had finished that project.

I made a list this morning and got most all of it done, focusing on the main living areas!! Will work on bedrooms tomorrow.....mostly the kids take care of themselves and their room but mom does need to check for JUNK growing! :) So I can sew by this weekend. I feel much better!!

Okay im back.. Got up to the school and a ladder truck, tanker truck and ambulance was there.. Seems a child was having an asthma attack but scared every parent to death.

Tisha do what I did and go on strike.. Feels good.. We are even having left overs for dinner so no cooking tonight thanks to the nieghbor giving me ahuge container of meatballs.. All I gotta do is make rice or noodles..

O I just talked to the mortgage company too.. They finally assigned someone to our case to start the paperwork on the modification.. Have been sending payments in every month to show we can if they do what they sadi they would.. So mow its a waiting game but its comming to an end finally.. I will feel so much better once we sign the final papers..

I have started quilts! :) I have one finished [as in the top is pieced but not 'quilted']! ;)

I have several projects started...my mom owned a Husqvarna Viking Dealership that was also an Heirloom and Quilting Shop. She sold it last Jan and still runs it just not with her money. I worked for her for 7 years....taught the serger and software classes. I also did the kids program and taught some adult beg classes. It was an outlet, I only worked a couple days a week. It gave me a break.

We just moved here in Aug and left my family all in AL....so I need valances and curtains that is what I am supposed to be sewing. The Dutchess has a vanity table that needs a skirt too.

I think half our boxes were marked 'sewing room'! :)

Merlot is already open here, and I am relaxing after a stressful day sliding on ice in a Wheelie aka Wheelchair transport van, which is what I do to earn a living... LOL

I have 2 nice salads made, (thank you Arbys) and I started a pot of Chicken with Wild and Jasmine rice soup...Smells heavenly, and the rice isn't even in there yet...LOL

There is a coating of ice on my steps and covering the big limbs on the Mimosa tree..Supposed to snow later, into tomorrow night...Whoopee

I'll join with the cider too. Wine will send me to the hospital and I don't feel like a trip there today!! Well, not any day for that matter. Now just who mentioned Bud Light--careful you be talking about my retirement money--or lack of!!!!

Just got off the phone with Sistah Kathy and she had a huge request for me. She would like me to tell everyone she is okay (well, as okay as she can be under the circumstances). She has spoken with the sheriff where her daughter lives and received some advice as how to handle the situation regarding Pamela. She has also talked with her daughter who asked her not to come take the baby as that is what keeps her going right now. Someone (I apologize I don't remember who and don't want to give incorrect info) has been taking Pamela to see her mother as often as allowed. Kathy has also talked with SIL's Mom and both were in agreement the baby needed to be out of the house with the person who is there now. SIL'd Mom has the baby and promised Kathy she will take her to see her mother as often as visist are allowed. Basically Kathy is okay with the current arrangements but the two did disagree as to what should be done when Kathy's daughter is released. She even chatted with her granddaughter--which I am sure helped her and Mike.

She spoke with her daughter and the nurse where she is hospitalized and was given more information regarding the situation. In short, her daughter will have to be confined for the full 28 days, had been using for 3 days and was really bad when she took herself for treatment, currently being kept sedated to bring her down. She also told them she had been selling where she worked and her boss was the supplier. Kathy called the sheriff's office back with this information and they are working on that probably as I am telling everyone this. She also learned her boss has been going to visit her daughter every day but something tells me that will stop!!

Please keep her and her family in your prayers and call her. She said she would love to hear from you Sistahs. As previously stated she is basically okay but stressed to the max!!!

BTW, Jaye thanks for the zippers and hooks and eyes from Kathy.

Well there is Bud Light -- :) in the fridge but its been there quite a while. and the other half of the suitcase is under the cabinet..lol It was a present last year from a customer who works at the plant.. Just dont drink as much as we used to but its there for when my mom comes over or a friend wants one.. Personally we drink Whiskey Sours when we have one or a mudslide here and there. I keep hard stuff in the freezer for tooth emergencies that knocks out the pain in a pinch.. Weird we both drank alot when we were still in and right out of school but now dont do it much that we are allowed....lol

Prayers for you Kathy. Please take care. I know you will do the right thing for that little baby!

I cooked spicy sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms and taters all sliced up together for a very HOT dish. [it was extra hot sausage] Really tasty but a bit on the hot side, kids loved it but needed extra sweet tea! ;)

I will keep Kathys family in my prayers.

We're baaaaaack. Every time we hit our favorite Mexican restaurant, Lola gets treated to soft taco, hold the lettuce, no cheese. Once we didn't order a taco to go for her, she created a ruckus all the way home.
Hello Dusty. Rice soup sounds good. We like it served with sliced green onion tops, or browned onions. Sometimes we take a shortcut. We use shredded WM roast chicken. Rice soup or rice porridge is an Asian staple. I am sure you are very cautious on icy road. Don't know if I could handle that.. no experience here.

Heather, do you hire yourself out too? Sewing draperies and such? That will be a good home business.

Thank you so much for letting us know what's going on with Sis Kathy, Maid M. Certainly we'll keep on praying for her. Still it must be hard for her to return without her daughter and Pamela. So heart wrenching... still the best thing will be rehab, but I hope for more than 28 days. I'll give her a call in the morning.
