Todays Weather in Your Garden - 36

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Sorry to hear that Victor. Been there done that and it's not fun. Unless you have Map -Dot syndrome it should heal up quickly, but it is a constant feeling of something in your eye. Hope you get some relief soon.
The temp here is only 19 degrees with a very brisk wind again that makes it feel colder, but the sun is shining brightly so that helps a lot. The forecast on the other hand basically sucks to put in bluntly. Depending on who you listen to we should expect 4-8 inches starting tomorrow afternoon through Sunday morning. Oh joy more snow. Yuck!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - it feels like a piece of sand. Constant tearing and redness. Blurry, of course.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Sorry Victor, That must be miserable. Do you look like a pirate? Hope it heals quickly.

28 degrees, bright and sunny here, but I can see a big cloud bank off shore. Now that we are not in Vt, I am going to continue my garden catalog reading and spending. Patti

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Hope you feel better soon Victor!

Thanks - just back from the doc. No patch. He put a drop of something in - probably to prevent infection. Also prescribed drops and ointment. Feels better than this AM, but still quite blurry.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

that sounds terrible Victor... fast healing to you bud

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Allison. I don't recommend it! Not fun.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Gee - I can't imagine you with an eye patch, Victor - you would have to walk around saying stuff like "avast me hearties!"

I do hope your eye is better very soon.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Ouch, Victor ..... Hope that heals very quickly.

We're supposed to be in for some storming .... I see on the radar, it is already hitting the PA/NY border south of here, but not yet here.

they are calling for 4 - 6 for us too... we attempted to go food shopping yesterday afternoon and the food store looked like christmas eve.... we just left... amazing how NJ people panic and think we are going to be snow bound for weeks... gotta get the bread and milk

Tis cold a mere 0. Calling for 3-6" Oh well live with it. ‹(•¿•)›

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I hear you Sherrie! It's cold!!! I can't believe that we'll be getting snow again this evening ... *sigh*. We'll probably get a bit over 6" as we are at one of those higher elevation points. Lots to do today before the white stuff falls. Tomorrow, I plan to hibernate.

Victor ... please take care of that eye!!! I hope it's much better today.

Currently:

Wind: NW at 6 MPH
Humidity: 53%
Dewpoint: -2°
Pressure: 30.22 in. and falling

Snow predicted to fall shortly after sunset this evening.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

The sun is out for the present. Temp has shot up to 17 degrees and the wind has turned to coming from the NW and is very light at less than 5mph. Winter storm warning for tonight into tomorrow morning. Now they say less snow, 3-6 inches, and more ice/mix/rain at the end tomorrow. All depends on the track of the storm as usual. If it comes closer we get less snow here and more gets dumped on you west and north. Don't know what's worse really, more fluffy snow or a mixed up icy mess. Going to be really frigid temps by this time next week.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the flurries have begun.... not supposed to get bad until this evening though

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Willie, Michaela and Candyce. Still not great this morning. Beet red, tearing and blurry. The pain is better though. No patch since I have to put drops in every hour.

26 and cloudy. 3-6 inches expected.

Thomaston, CT

Hope the eye heals quickly, Victor---hard to see the plant catalogs! Have had a scratched cornea---not fun! It's in the 20's here---4-6 forecast for later this pm---I'm headed for the library to pick up a few good books.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Every hour...wow! Take good care of that eye Victor--you are one of my photo gurus--I need that eye! (glad it at least FEELS better)

South Hamilton, MA

Hope the drops help Victor. We all need our eyes. Bitterly cold here, storm on the way. The line on the TV weather map between greater & fewer snow amounts goes right through our area.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the birds don't care it's snowing

I like my eyes but would rather have my feet. I will have to take a pic of them for ya some day!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Snowing for about 45 minutes.

Clouding up now. Snow expected late tonight. ‹(•¿•)›

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

nice shot onewish.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I love blue jays, Allison. Is he a frequent visitor to you?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very pretty, Allison.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Snowing now, just a dusting so far. 27 degrees. Patti

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Please, Patti. Could you keep the snow there with you for just a few hours longer?

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

It looks like it is just south of you, so I hope I can, and as we are heading to Vt tomorrow, I would like a clear road, no snow or ice. The dogs are in heaven. They love the snow. Patti

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

No snow here yet...im glad as I really wanted to see the largest full moon of 2009. Here it is.....

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

we have tons of blue jays.. woodpeckers... titmouse... finches... nuthatches ... and for the first time I noticed juncos

this was taken this morning also... right before the chase started

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Cool! Who won the chase?? lol

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Snow slammed the Southtowns. About 4 inches here. More today.

Not looking forward to the weather after Tuesday (4ºF) as the Arctic air brings us down to -2ºF (and that's without the wind chill factored in) on Thursday. Looks like the Arctic Blast will sit on us for a bit, too.

Guessing 7" we were in the 3-6 range.

South Hamilton, MA

About 4" of snow, but still falling. Luckily it's the fluffy kind.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

About two or so inches here. Not too bad. 24 and cloudy.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Snow only amounted to about 4". Stopped earlier this am but has started up again. Just some light snow showers that will probably not last long, I hope. Temp is 20 degrees with a light 5-10mph wind, some stronger gusts, coming out of the NW. W got all snow here, not much mixing of rain which is probably a good thing. Deeper drops of snow on the Ma-NH border. Go slow, don't forget all that ice is still under there.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Allison, I love your bluejay and woodpecker pictures. Celeste, I also like your moon shot.

It's 24 here now. Snowed about 3" here I think. Not bad. Snow is perfect for making snowmen. Nice and moist. Looks very pretty out there now.

Karen
