Heat wave is right, started out in single digits but has climbed way up to 16° now. Should get just above freezing for a high with chance of snow flurries this afternoon. Overcast at present and not much chance for sun today but the wind has calmed down nicely to make it seem a lot warmer too.

Thomaston, CT

Glad everyone's weather matches mine---cold, windy, snowy--wish I was in that greenhouse of Patti's eating that chocolate chip cheesecake! Instead, a life-long (since age 10) friend & I are heading to tony Litchfield to try lunch at a new place--my DIL says it's expensive, so lunch is the only time I'll try it!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Our greenhouse which is our passive solar heat is pouring it's free heat into the house and is still at 76 degrees out there and house is at 68 with no other heat on. Love that. We will crank the wood stove up in an hour as the sun goes down. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Nice, Patti! Even my half-a***ed porch modifications are making a nice difference. In the morning sun, it's about 75 degrees out there when it's about 20 outside.

Chilly out there now - cold wind. 31.

Fireplace embers last night.

Pixie, Love the bunny watch report. One of our Vt neighbor's big bunnies escaped one late summer day a few years back and we all tried to catch him for months to no avail. He lived mostly in a culvert next to our house for the winter but also found shelter in various outbuilding in the area. We would see his tracks in the snow or find him waiting by someones back door for treats. We saw him all winter, but come late spring he was gone. We all missed the big guy. He was very happy to be out, though he loved all the food we all put out for him. He was one fat rabbit. He had been a loved house pet, but once out, he wouldn't let anyone near him, even the young boy who had raised him. He would go up to his old house and sit under his old outside rabbit cage when his old pals where outside. Na Nana Boo Boo.

34 at my house. GH at 76 and house at 67. Beautiful day.

Zillions of starlings today for the first time and a big flock of robins bathing in the stream.

I have been working in the Gh and am pleased to see that all the cuttings that I took in late Oct of white impatience have really taken off. If I can keep them going, that will save me a mess of money. Plus they are starting to bloom already. Pretty. Patti

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

It's a sunny day right now and 34, and will probably remain that way all day. Not too bad.

Victor, I love the picture of your coals.

It was 38 & sunny--our dam has been closed since the last storm, so had to walk in the state park that's partially in our town--anyway, counted 25 vehicles in the parking lots, so many people had the same idea---also washed the car--I couldn't tell what color it was!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Mostly sunny today, and tomorrow! Yippie!!

Forgot to say "Nice shot of the Embers," yesterday, Victor. AND, I am glad you mentioned your enclosure. Did you pack it full of plants, too? I meant to ask more about it and how it is working for you.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Sun just disappeared. 46 calling for rain/sleet then snow thru Thursday.

The hawk swooped down to get a bird and went in the tree. I opened up the door and said to the dogs "GO GET THAT THING" One dog ran and took off down into the wetlands and I saw "SOMETHING" run and fast. It was silver or grey and took off towards the woods. I say it was bigger than a fox. It was the size of a big dog. Guessing 60lbs. What was it................... arghh a wolf, coyote arghhhhh
