No, I haven't thought about that, Cindy... but, I'll look into it. The thing to think about is if it can be used for wet sanding... polymer clay has to be sanded wet.
I did find some instructions online about how to turn a scrubbuster into a wet sanding tool for larger clay items...
I also found some people using a battery powered toothbrush, altered to add a sanding head, for sanding those intricate pieces and hard to reach places. So, I'm going to try to use Don's old one... don't know if it will work or not because it just vibrates, not rotates... but worth a try, at least.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do any of my sewing sisters have a 12 inch light bluezipper?
Sorry, Kathy, don't think I have zippers of any kind.
Yes, Cindy, we are blessed. DH and I have made it a tradition to host Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter lunch at our house every year. Everyone from both sides of the family are always invited along with any friends, dates, etc. The more the merrier. When we start having grandkids of our own it will really be fun!
Jaye, you said it - no drama. We are a low drama family. I just don't tolerate it. The only real drama in our family is from my aunt who seems to end every gathering with her feelings hurt and being a real 'b***h'. She's starting going out of town for holidays which is ok with us since we don't fit her social needs. It's just sad that she's seperating herself from her only family and will regret that one day. Family is family - we don't pick them. They may not be who we would choose as our best friends, but they don't have to be our best friends. They will always be family, though.
My kids got all they wanted and then some! We had to buy a trailer thing for the car to get home and still used the luggage rack! :O My hubby said Santa was coming early next year before we left to go out of town. I just love the Magic even though it is some trouble.
I havent gotten my pictures out yet........I took pictures of a vow renewal and must up load those soon so..........I will find some Christmas pictures while I am at it.
Sis, I have to make that trip to Wally world tonight. I'll get that zipper for you.
BJ, I hope it will work out for you.
Debra, this is the first year that we spent a quiet Thanksgiving and Christmas. For the past 6 years, Kel's parents insisted we spend them with his aunt. There were always unnecessary 'staged' chaos and the food served late. Last year, I almost went delirious, cause they were 5 hours' late with the food, and I had already taken my insulin shot before leaving. So, this year, I told them since they had not shown any respect to their guests, I will not be subjected to any more abuse.
Fortunately, his parents agreed to stay home. They were the most peaceful, drama free holiday dinners we ever had.
I'll continue tradition only if chaos is left out of the equation!
We'll be waiting for the pix Heather.
Afternoon everyone!
Whew Im tired..lol I got he decorations all taken down just as Max came home from work around noon.. I got finished up with this coat of primer and all the trim primered in Tonys room with a different primer than I used last night.. This one has a very low odor and idnt make me ill so I know what I will be using from here on out,, Raining outside now so I guess I will work on finishing cleaning up te house then take a break..

I saw a nurse practioner today about my knee. She gave me a steriod shot and some pills and got me an appointment with an orthopedic DR. tomorrow morning. I thought this would be better by now, it's been a month, but it's not.
Still haven't heard from Lisa.
Ouch Audrey. I pray I won't suffer from rheumatoid arthritis as bad as my mum had. But it looks I might be heading that way too, as my joints are giving me problems when it's cold.
Take care Audrey, don't over do it. Let us know once you heard something from Lisa.
Jaye, do you take glucosamine chondroitin? I thought I had RA had all the blood work done too. Doc says to take that it helps big time.
Cindy, I was advised not to take it cause it may aggravate insulin resistance. My BIL's taking it and it helps him. I just stick to aspirin when the joints start flaring up or some muscle rub.
Oh i see. And you don't have a hot tub or is that something you can tolerate also because of diabetes?
Nope, no hot tub here.
Well, I'm off to Wally world. Be back soon!
Wally World sounds like a good alternative! Can I come along?!!
Just checked my zipper stash... and no, Cuz... no 12" light blue... sorry.
Well, just got home, and the 2009 pressie is on it's merry way up north. But, I learned something. I saved $5 by shipping it UPS rather than flat rate USPS. I was shocked when the clerk at the post office told me what it was going to cost... so, I thought (since I had time, and had wanted to do this before) I'll take it down to the UPS store and see what it would cost... they even let me ship it in the USPS flat rate box it was in... plus, I can track it along it's way... I'll be using UPS a lot more, you can be sure of that.
I also didn't find a scumbuster. I suppose that you can't get them anymore. A lot of people became disallusioned with them when they found they're not all they're cracked up to be... but since I don't want it for cleaning, I still want one. SO if anyone here has one they don't want anymore... PLEASE, I want it badly!!!
It's the Black & Decker Scum Buster Cordless Cleaner Kit SB400, or SB500... not the new Scumbuster Extreme.

BJ, does the dremel tool work sanding? That would be ideal, if you could control the speed?
LK
The dremel is too aggressive... it can't go fast enough to heat the polymer clay, plus... the dremel is not water proof... got to use it for wet sanding.
Edited to clarify... the dremel goes too fast at it's slowest speed... it heats up the polymer and can burn it. I need something less aggressive.

Had a fun day today. Went to have lunch with my girlfriend and I was a little early so I stopped at the Frontgate outlet store to see if I could find something for my GFs birthday on the 1st. Well...I didn't find anything for her..actually I found the perfect thing for her a professional jewelry cleaner, but I called her DH and she already has one....shoot. They just got it 6 months ago, too. However, I have been wanting a new artificial Christmas tree that is prelit. I don't mind the decorating, but putting the lights on and taking them off absolutely drive me CRAZY! Well, I looked at Sears the other day when they were having their clearance and they had one that was prelit with 600 lights. It just didn't look like it had much on it at all and it was $129 so more than I wanted to pay, too. So today as I'm browsing the trees, I see a 7.5 foot canaan tree with 1200 lights on it. I look at the price...$445.00. BUT they are having 75% off, so I figure okay around $110.00. Better price, twice as many lights. So I find an extension cord and I give it a try...it is beautiful!! So I decide to splurge and get it. I am so happy with this tree! Then when she goes to check me out the price is...... drumroll please.....$75.00!!!!! Whoohoo!!! Happy dance here!
Then, after lunch I went to see the ultrasound of the new baby that's coming. The tech says he weighs 5 lb. 9 oz right now. So in one more month he should be a nice size. She's a little scared about having it C-section, but I'm sure it will be fine. Couldn't really see much on the ultrasound cause he's taking up so much room now.
Hubby wanted Chinese food for dinner so I got out of cooking too. I've already called Bertie and we're heading to the Kenwood Mall tomorrow. I like this vacation!!!
So did the rest of you stay out of trouble today?
Wow, what a deal on that tree. Don't you feel just super good when you can get a bargin like that? Want to tell everyone. Good for you!
Great deal you got there on your Christmas tree Joyce! Wahoo! I wonder how many they really sold at $445? Geezh
I made my appointment with my doc today for help in quitting smoking. I tried cold turkey today. Not going to happen with my nerves on edge. Step down will be best for me. I had a half a carmel cake left and I ate it all today :(

Dimmer;
Made calls and ran a few places but haven't gotten anywhere yet..
FINALLY heard from Lisa this afternoon! She was admitted to Vanderbilt last night with 103* temp. A severe infection in both ears and her oxygen was 70. Seeping pus and blood from both ears. They're giving her antibiotics and breathing treatments. She's on oxygen. They were going to discharge her today, but her oxygen dropped immediately to 80. When she goes home it will probably be with oxygen. They set her up to see an oral surgeon next week, I think. At last she's getting some help. She's uninsurable, and they dropped her from TENNCARE. So she doesn't have anything. Thank God she has some good friends that she works with. She teaches at the JR. college where she lives. Her boss just adores her and would do anything for her. She's just out of town in Ga. for the holidays.
Thanks for all your prayers!
Just a quick hello.. worked 12 hrs today, so I'm beat. I'll be lurking in the background for awhile and then to bed. 5 am comes too dang early some days!
Chris
Dropping by to say hello. I too will call it an early night. Babysitting the girls again tomorrow and need all my strength!! LOL Actually it wasn't bad today, the youngest has an ear infection and only wanted to curl up in Granma's lap. Tough job but someone has to do it.
Sorry Kathy, no zippers here any more. I got rid of all of mine when I moved 3 years ago. Only buy when I need (which isn't very often) then now.
Oh Janice I definitely am signed up for the B & W swap! I have waiting for you to start this one. Looks like we are getting a really great group signing.
Take care all, drink some coffee for me and if you feel like it come join me with the girls tomorrow. I am sure it will be a lively day!!!
Enjoy those little ones Marion.......have a good night.
Hello everyone... internet connection has been a bit stinky today.
Audrey... why is Lisa uninsurable? Why was she dropped from Tenncare? Is that an state run Insurance? I'm glad she's getting some help.
Oooo... hugging those pirate princesses must be really tough on you, Marion... poor grandma... LOL.
Well, I found a battery powered power scrubber from Amazon that I could afford... and takes regular batteries... so, we'll see if it works like I think it will. I'm also re-engineering Don's toothbrush to do some intricate stuff. I'm just trying to find a better way to do things that don't wear my hands out so bad.
Don's driving home tonight, poor baby... he's left the crippled truck for the maintenance people to handle... hmmmm...
Yea, Phyllis... I saw that... but Don just thought those Versapak Batteries aren't worth it... he's never liked them... so, I found one that uses regular batteries.
ok just saw that and thought I would post it for ya to see if that was the right thing no problem
Phyllis... I think that's the machine you need too... !!!!!
So, have you bought it yet?
BJ, she has to many things wrong with her. They dropped everyone except kids and their mothers a while back. They just dropped my other daughter and her son, he's 18 but still in school.
Hello ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CODY!!! You're baccccck!!!
Tina in MB. Hope you are feeling better. Hate to know you're going to work tomorrow and still under the weather.
Looks like some sistahs got lucky! Wow Joyce, that's a steal!! Yah, I wonder too how many paid the full price.
Phyllis, you got a good machine there. I like the hands free presser foot lift feature. Will the shop be giving you lessons? You all are tempting me to get an embroidery machine..
Aww Sistah Deborah... perhaps you need to stash some chewing gum. Too much sugar can leave you frazzle too!
Hi Kim.. stay warm please. Your vacation is coming up soon, and think of sun.. beach.. cabana men...
Evening Chris!
Audrey, I'm so sorry that Lisa's uninsurable. I hope Universal Health care will be implemented here. Please tell her that we'll continue to pray till she recovered fully.
Poor Maid M.. yah right?? I bet you'd be on the floor and forgetting about your knee when you're around your girls!!!! Like you say, they grow up too fast, so I'm sure you seize every opportunity just to be with them.
Sis Kathy, I got the zipper and a pack of hook-and-eye. Will mail those out to you tomorrow.
Trisha, unfortunately Walmart is the only store where we can do one stop shopping in this one mule town :( They are not diligent in stocking the shelves, and most of the time we have to make more 4 trips a week.
Jaye are you feeling better today?
No I didn't buy it BUT that is what my folks bought for me today ...mom and I looked at the bernias at the Nimble thimble here in town Saturday and about died at the price of them so she had me looking on line as to what all there was out there for sewing embroidery machines and pfaff and babylock were at sharman's no brother dealers near by so we looked today at the pfaff and baby locks and after lunch she had my dad and DH meet us at the store and that is what we came home with......mind you the one I really liked was a lil over 2 thous but his one will do fine.
I even get free clases to learn how to do things nad all the stuff I need to know for embroidery
Funneeee.... Cody!!
Much better, thank you.. what have you been up to?
Phyllis, you lucky daughter!! Take full advantage of the classes and ASK questions.. wait.. you do that anyway!! Oh I am so.. no not jealous.. just a teeny weeny bit.
Kel just asked me whether I still want a Singer Featherweight, made in the 50s or 60's. But I told him I might just wait for a good embroidery machine.
well watch the stores as alot of them have sales going on to clear out hte tock from 08 to make room for the 09 stuff coming out
