I am drinking coke-but that hot cocoa w/ some capt morgans parrot bay sounds real good about now....
I don't know hoe people do it-the ice on the road in pellets sounded like I was driving on a gravel road, then the overpasses were pure ice....

It's cruel to be setting off in bad conditions. Only the police and hospital personnel should be working. The rest stay home.. Lives are precious.
There should be provisions of supplementing half income lost due to bad weather..
(no politics here.. just my opinion)
OK.. gonna take advantage of our 70* weather here.

Show my tree? Jaye you of all the sistahs should know perfection takes a very long time to create!! ROFLOL Nope but it should be up soon. We have cleared a spot for it to go so that is progress.
BTW, new sistahs, I am Marion or Maid M. as Jaye refers to me. We are so glad you both have joined us so don't hang back. Jump in the water if fine--atleast here it is!!! Sorry all you in the north experiencing snow.
Linda Kay, do you not subscribe to the Creative ideas from Lowe's? It is free for just signing up. I love that magazine. I just love Lowe's--almost as much as a fabric or quilt store.
BJ, okay dear, it is about time for you to show your sweet face. Don't make us all feel bad by being so industrious!!! I work a while, then play awhile. Humm, that might be why I don't get finished with things sooner.
Audrey, listen to all the sistahs here!!!!! Sweats and peculiar pains in the chest are not to be messed around with---call your doctor!!!
Waving to Joyce. Send you an email with a new craft to do. Let me know how you progress with the work. LOL
Brenda, I am so laughing out loud at you and your son. Sounds oh so familiar. Good for you for making him his cookies. My son is married with a family but when he ask for something I used to do when he was single--believe you me I jump to it!!! He doesn't ask for special things often but he does make it a habit of stopping by on his way home from work to check out the kitchen. What a duffus!!
I was talking to BJ on the phone earlier, and she was on the way to do some shopping with Don.
Stacey, so sorry you had that bad experience. Make the rum a double shot. That will make you feel better.
Marion, I get the Lowe's update in my email, and I went looking at the site, and found that idea. Thought it was pretty cool.
Waiting on a picture of Marion's tree!!! ^_^
Linda Kay
Glad you reported on BJ. I had actually thought she might be with Don doing something.
I love those ideas also. There was one last year how to make a square wreath using PVC pipe that was really kewl.
BTW, has Laura or Trisha checked in today? Hope they have power.
Tinky, Tinky, what ever are we going to do with you? Well love you that is understood but several of your Aunties told you not to venture out no matter what!! You sure don't listen very well--LOL. As if any of us do either, right? So very happy you settled down and made it back home. We don't need any more things to worry about.
Hi, LK it is just a tree!!! Has a trunk, branches and some needles on it just like most trees. Sorry the devil made me do it.
Yah right.. it's just a tree.. A canvas is just a canvas until Michael Angelo got hold of it!!
What kind of tree are yall talking about....I'll just keep asking questions till I know all that is going on. :)
I am trying to get my pictures from an album on here but the image thing only allows for one at the time.
Let me see can I just cut and paste the link?
[fixin to try]
http://picasaweb.google.com/mikeNheather.family/FamilyPictures#
See if that works and is it 'legal' here to put links in?
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,470104,00.html
A tad bit of useless info for you all!
LK
I have to get a pic of my dogwood tomorrow-it looks pretty with the red berries and all the ice on it....
Heather-not sure what kind of tree they are talking about, but LK has been obsessed with peeps decorated Xmas trees....
I need to hang more with LK then.......sis and I started decorating for Christmas the week before Thanksgiving and would have done it earlier... but our hubbys thought we were smoking crack. :O
LOL-I would love to decorate for Xmas after Labor day if DH would let me!!ROFL!!
I left the house at 11 and just got back. Stopped at Mervyn's again to see what was still there. Everything is now marked down to 70%, they are even selling all the fixtures. Man they have shelves on wheels that I could really use and only $150, drats wished I had a place for them, they would work really good for setting up my candles. Then stopped at JoAnn's they were having a sale 50, 60 and 70% off. I was looking for collars to put on some sweatshirts I got for my mom. They didn't even know what I was talking about DUH!
Then grocery shopping asked if they had any Hot Buttered Rum batter. Nope uhg!! Sometimes this town drives me bonkers.
Heather, that is a great family album and a beautiful you have. I would like to see some of the children's clothes that you make.
Yes you can put links to other sites, just can't advertise anything to sell. I got in trouble when I posted pix of some beaded ladybugs.
Stacey, so glad you made it home. Have you burnt the Snow Fairy candle yet? Just wondering if you like the scent.
Packages went out to:
BJ, Marion, LK, Deborah,Jaye, Trisha and Laura (1 box). Hope they get to you all before Christmas if not you will have a late pressie.
The clothes pictures are mostly 'before' I got digital. I will need to scan some and hunt them up or just take some pictures once I unpack those Spring clothes.....most of the Heirloom stuff is too warm for WV till spring/summer.
Here is my main tree.
The youngest one is the only one who wears any of it now. She has a Christmas dress I will get pictures next week of that.
Evenin Girls
I see y'all have ben busy today chattin up a storm ...LOL
Welcome to the new gals !!!!! glad ya found us and came in
Lovely day out today in the 70's here
so roads were safe and no problems on the bus....yipppeeee no gettin up at 4-5 am for work for the next 2 weeks.
I'm ticked off at UPS as some drivers had placed an order through me and they usually drop the packages up at the house so I've been watching for it to come and DH kept an eye out when I was at work. it didn't' show up yesterday..when I left for work this morning at 5:30 here is a box just inside the fence in a plastic bag. I know that box was not there when I got home yesterday and it was not there when step son got home or we both would have seen it from the lights on the plastic. They are dang lucky no one came int eh drive and took off with it then they would have seen the rath of Phyllis ....GGGGGRRRRRRR
Have any of you looked at this forum? Great mind I can't think of things like that
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/933482/
Where is everybody? I have coffee and Bailey's.......it's very cold going to freeze again tonight............bbrrr
Heather, the tree is just Jaye "jerking" my chain as I don't have mine up yet. I have had her name for the last 2 (actually 3 but she didn't know that) swaps and I was late with all of them. I told her perfection takes time!! So she just likes to do the "jerk, jerk" thing. Right Jaye? Micahealangelo? Hummm I thought he was in the ceiling painting business!
I am here but about to go eat my dinner. Keep the coffee hot and a "wee" bit of baileys. Not cold might get down to upper 50's.
Will do, sistah!!! Enjoy din din
Yall are so funny, I can almost here the sweet noise of a bunch of girls sitting around drinking coffee and chatting!
The time is a coming. We are planning several get togathers, and I sure hope I'm able to make at least one of them. We will probably get 86'd from the neighborhood, LOL, especially if Deborah starts doing her chicken walk........
Heather we don't just drink coffee ...I'm too young for coffee ...hahahahahaha
as you can see Cindy has the baileys out and since school is out till Jan. 5thand no bus driving 'm holdin out my cup for some!!!!!
Beings we are having snow all around us I want to share this story with all of you.
Winter of "52" My mom and dad lived in Truckee, Ca. My mom had gotten up and wondered why it was still so dark for 8 am. So she opened the front door and what greeted her was a solid wall of white. My dad had to crawl thru the attic and out the vent thing and out onto the roof. He then had to figure out where the door was so that he could dig the a path to it so mom could get out. Following is a story. I hope you can read it. The end of the story will be next.
We just got back from a seafood fest! Sorry Niece, you just skip this paragraph. The oysters were huge and so were the shrimps and scallops. Real scallops too, you can only eat 2!! We stuffed on fried catfish and flounder too, and Kel had to give me extra insulin just now!!
Avoid desserts tho', but I can use that fresh cup of coffee now.
Oh please, let it be there tomorrow!! Have mercy on the UPS guy Phyllis.. it's the strenous season.. no wrath.. no wrath.. :D
Maid M. What 3rd swap?? Refresh this tired mind please?
Yep, you're right.. Michael did the Sistine Chapel.. ceilings.. no canvas. See.. tired mind got confuddled. It's Da Vinci. Me, jerking your chain? No way!! More like subtle reminder to hurry!!! ROFL!!
LK, I truly believe the reindeers are females. Which male would have a Chinese red paint on the nose? And yes.. ask for directions.
Heather, you are so lucky!! Such a beautiful family. I bet there's never a dull moment in your house. I came from a large family too, and Mum had a lot of little helpers.
Yep, I laugh at the ode to slugs Cindy. That's funny. Now Cindy, can we dig into our boxes right away?
Thanks for sharing a l'il history with us Cindy. Nowadays, rescue is more efficient thanks to technology. I can't believe some resuers then were not dressed for the heavy snow. Wonder how many lives were lost.
We may never have snow storms, or blizzards but in the South we have the hurricanes.. God keeps us all safe.
Edited to add... I remember now.. first swap was that windsock!! Thanks Marion :D

HI Everyone!
Looks like I missed a whole day of chatter today...
I hit the mall and remembered why I dont go there... Didnt find one thing I was looking for in 12 stores.. They took the toy store, kiklands, dollar store and a few others I was looking for completely out.. UUGhhhh Target was ext on the list and it ws packed out at noon... I found a few items on my list for the kids and snuck them home before Tristen got out of school at 3. Made diiner, Max headed in to work at 5, watched a movie wih the kids and Im beat.. Still have to wrap up what I got today that way no sneeky eyes find out whta they have... But for now they have no clue anything was brought home and I plan to stick them in my big rubbermaid container and keep them hidden until Christmas Eve after they have gone to bed..
Thak you all for your kind words to my family..
Heather your tree is very pretty..
Ummm can I have a cup Cindy??
No Jaye the package was out by the gate this morning at 5:30 when I left for work so the stuff arrived but dang why did they leave it out there where someone could have pulled in and took it ...it was over $200 worth of shirts jackets etc for bus drivers
I understand the stress of the season but that is no reason to be so lazy in delivering packages
ahhh Thank you Cindy for the drink.. Next one leave out the coffeee...
Tomorrow is going to be similar to today but I have to wait on Max to get up so I can leave the kids with him for a but so I can hit a few more places tomorrow.
Well, I hope you find what you are looking for. I finished mine except for, I'm going to buy my mom some lottery scratch offs. california has a show called Big Spin. If you buy a scratch off ticket that has 3 big spins on it you get to go on this show and spin a wheel to have a chance at winning 3 million dollars.........
Well Phyllis, I had to call the UPS office more than a couple of times and complain of drivers throwing boxes over 8 ft. fence and hitting cement floor. That didn't work until I told the head man that I'd call all the suppliers, friends and family not to use UPS but FedEx!
Yep, conscientous deliverers are rare nowadays, Phyllis.
Leave out the coffee Donna?? Don't let Audrey read that!!! Lolol!! She'll hide her Bailey's!!
Oh please let Sistah Cindy's mum win that millions!
Just checking in before heading off to bed.
Yep... Don and I went to Mesquite for some shopping. Actually, I couldn't think of not one thing to get for him for Christmas, so I made him pick it out. Can't tell you for the life of me what he bought, but it's some cool tool they've been advertising, and he couldn't live without. I thought he had every tool imaginable, but guess I was wrong.
I also picked up a few things for me... hehehe... of course.
Well, ladies... no time to catch up tonight... I'm falling asleep, and Don's already in bed... has an early flight in the morn.
SOOOOO... NIGHTY NIGHT BSF !!!
Nighty Night Bj, sleep tight don't let the beddie bugs bite, hee hee ^_^
Night BJ!
Night BJ .. Sleep welll
Jaye only for tonight without the coffee... My back is still hurting pretty goood so I figure it may help me sleep...lol
ok girls need some quick tips...Dumb me wore my heels to work since I thought there would be a visitation for the driver that passed plus I was suppose to go for the administration lunch..so ya knwo wanted to look nice ...ended up doing a field trip and not going to lunch and they didn't' have a visitation so now I have a huge blister on the bottom of my foot ...why I have no idea as I wore them at the wedding in Houston Nov. 1 and was on my feet in them almost the same amount of time and driving a school bus in them is no problem either
what is the best way to reduce this puppy down fast as the funeral is tomorrow at 11 and I can't wear heels much less anything else nice looking on my feet there.
I've taken a sterilized pin and pricked the edge so the liquid can drain out and the blister go down in size but after a few minutes it is back to feeling puffy and my ankles are swollen on the inside ...geez never had this happen from heels before
Cindy, Tony and I go up to Donner Ski Ranch (Norden, CA) usually each year in July... Tony competes in a motorcycle competition called "Trials", and he rides vintage motorcylcles in these competitions. Donner is one of our favorite venues. (We are fortunate enough to get to go to lots of locations across the western U.S. for these events, RV'ing all the way, all the dogs included). Anywhooooo, we've seen the train tunnels there and wondered about them, and just recently saw a program on Discovery or History channel describing that snowstorm and the toll it took, the people trapped on the train, the amazing (and not always successful) rescue effort. Amazing to think your family was there, then, and how scary it must have been... frankly, I'd have been high-tailing it with your Mom!
As an aside, if anyone is familiar with the "Blizzard of '77" in Buffalo, NY... I lived through that one, 17 years old at the time... my story is unlike most others, I had a great time (fortunately, I was safe, warm, dry, and surrounded by friends and family... so we just partied through it). There is a show on one of those same channels about that event as well, it was pretty crazy. Sadly, many people were not as fortunate. Although I have lived in Arizona for the past 16 years, being back in snow country (Colorado)... I have all the respect (and training) for being careful about choosing where you choose to be at when a storm is coming in, making choices regarding survival (literally), and choosing who you wish to be with when you're snowed in!
Fairy (Stacey), I don't even know you yet, but I'm butting in as your newly aquired Auntie (you are one of the nieces, right?)... STOP making choices that endanger your life! Just stop! No job or amount of money is worth losing your life for... make your choices wisely... all of them, from getting in the car when there is an emergency driving only situation, or to getting in your car after several cocktails, to whether you value yourself enough to allow someone else to make you feel like crap. Just don't. Okay? Love you already...
Brenda
Is there a doctor in da house??
I can't help you there Phyllis.. sorry.
Mibus, soak in epsom salts if you have them... moleskin (pick it up at any pharmacy) on the ouchy spot, or a band aid... you can also soak in ice but boy I hate that...epsom salts so much better. Elevate, your feet are probably swollen now. Hope that helps!
B.
