Good morning lovely ladies.
It's in the high 60's here, and to those of you snow bound..do stay indoors if you could.
Thank you so much Shokami for posting that beautiful pic. Trisha is right, me and Kel are trasfixed on the lights' reflection. And to see lighted leaping frogs! Thanks and come back any time.
Welcome back Tina-Tia and Punk Boy! We've been missing ya!! And welcome Darlene!! Waving to Jennifer and Carl.
Yep, we love it when family's involved here.. we got Laura and Trisha, Stacey and Janice...and duhhh.. we're all sistahs here!
Linda you are one smart woman. Kel's cousin became a "willing" victim. Someone called her up and told her that she had won the lottery but needed her to send in the tax money, before they can send her a $250,000 check. That would have been a red flag for all of us right? Especially if you don't know who's on the other end.. but, not taking a breath, with eyes glazed, went ahead and sent a bank draft of $6,000.
Sad thing is a couple of months later, both husband and wife are laid off.
Rule of fast thinking is.. when it's too good to be true.. it's always NOT true..
Welcome Heather. You won't regret your subscription to DG. Whatever your hobbies are, you'd find enablers here. And you have such a beautiful family. I'm sure Clairol users will envy the red in your family!!
Call me Jaye. I'm just the "new page creator" here. If you look up, we have our names next to our DG handles. Like Stacey says, we like to get personal and address each other with our first names.
As for quilters, there's also Janice, Tina-Tia, Darlene and Liz who quilt too. And Cindy's already showing you the way to become addict swappers here ^_^
Oh oh, really Joyce?? So Sis Kathy has a sewing machine?? Hmm... what's next! Open season for enablers eh Marion? Lolol!!
Donna, there is a Santa after all! You, Max, Tristen and Tony deserve a good Christmas. Sis Kathy (Jordankittyjo) was responsible in leading you to us. She says we just have to adopt you and your family. No need to force that, we love you and still admire your resourcefullness in trying to overcome any adversities. We are the ones that should emulate you.
Laura that poem about current day granma is a hoot. Most of us don't stay on our rockers!!
Brenda, I'm one that DON'T add croutons to soup. If I want to eat something crunchy, why add them to hot liquids? I don't care for deep fried coated protein with hot gravy poured over them either.. they end up to be one soggy mess!
LK, do you still have brugs outside, or have you cut them down. I know you stay warm longer where you're at.
Stacey, how are you doing hun? Has your infection gone away? Drink lots of warm stuffs. And I rather you stay home and be safe, not worried over your job.. but only you know what's good for you.
Susan, I agree with you. Kel always ask what I want, and gives me precisely that! Unless it's for the garden, then he can about please me with anything!
So, Kim, what are your plans for today. Let me rephrase that.. what will you be baking today?
Phyllis, be safe on the road.
Maid M.. are you through with decorating the tree? Can't wait to see your creative mind at work.. oh wait, that's right.. you can't hurry perfection, and it might be Christmas eve, when that tree's ready!! Well you can always display your tree beyond the 12 days ^_^
Understood, you've been busy, busy, busy.. that dreaded 4 letter word for me :D
Welcome to all the newbies! You're gonna like it here a lot!
I haven't even started my 2009 swap yet! I don't know what to make, or buy! Ideas, please!!!
Yesterday it was in the low 30s, today it's 63*. It's gonna kill us! I'm sittin' here sweattin'! Gonna turn on the AC! I think it;s about 80* in here!
Gonna start baking next Tues, and bake a ham that night. Wed. I'll go to my dds' house and from there to my dgs's for Christmas on Thurs. Hope it doesn't get icy!
Audrey, I dmail you.
BJ, you mentioned a Chinese Christmas game.. hmm.. does that require eating as many egg rolls as you can in a given time??
I still have some blooming outside. Last week, we got a few days of frost, and so I started cutting some of my favorites one, and let a few NOIDS go. Now those Noids are blooming. The tops of the plants are a little crispy from the frost, but it has not stopped rthem from blooming.
Turtlechi, where are you. I have this visitor in my back yard, and I need to know what he is, what to do with him?
LK
Good morning! Joyce, how did you ever find that pic? Actually, I think that one is of DH's daughter and her boyfriend on Christmas... I make everyone wear goofy hats (you know, antlers, christmas trees that light up, etc.). I find everyone is cooperative after a couple of Christmas cocktails, LOL! I've been trying to find those pictures, but we've switched computers since then and I'm having no luck.
I talked to my son Phillip (age 27, lives in Los Angeles) the other day and asked him if he wanted me to send him some Christmas cookies. He said "What? I can't even believe you're asking me that question, of course I do!"... then I told him that I didn't make any cut-out cookies this year, and he was bummed. So, guess what I am doing this morning???? Making cut-out cookies. Don't know if he'll get them before Christmas, but he'll love them whenever they get there.
Have a great day everyone, stay warm and safe!
Brenda
I have a very peculiar feeling in my chest, stomache and throat. I'm sweating and I turned on the air. I'm going to lie down for a few minutes.
Good afternoon everyone.
Hello Heather welcome,
My name is Darlene I am from Norman Oklahoma I have 4 children they are grown. Tina is my oldest daughter she has given me 4 granddaughters. Her youngest daughter made me a great-grandma with Dylan. My oldest Son gave me 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson. His youngest daughter is about to make me a great-grandma with a great-granddaughter. My other son has a ready made family, but no children of his own. He loves the family he has, a 10 year old and a 14 year old girls. My other daughter Dannielle lives with me at home she is disabled. She has a seziure disorder that started when she was about 5 months old. She just had a birthday she is 32, but she functions as a 3-5 year old.
Audrey, maybe you should call the Dr. That does not sound good?
Please take care, and come back soon, let us know your OK.
LK
Audrey, check your sugar too. And do call the doctor if you're still feeling that way.
Darlene, thank you for introducing us to your family. I bet you have the most wonderful time when they gather at your dining table!
Yall are just the neatest folks!! I am really enjoying the browsing around and getting orientated with the site. I am really enjoying the pictures of your sweet families.
Heather
I am getting work done [not sure who I am trying to convince]
Audrey you need someone with you call someone now. Let someone know what is going on with you.
Pssst Heather.. that's why this is called "Sweet Interruptions"!!
Welcome again, Darlene and Heather. Your names added to the roll.
Does anyone have her phone number?
Please send it to me in a dmail.
LK
I just talked to her, LK. She's hoping it's something she ate and promised to see the doctor if it doesn't go away in a couple of hours.
I promised to let her rest, and will check on her this evening.
OK, Make sure you post, when you hear from her.
LK
Yes m'am.. sure will! I told her that we can't help but worry :D
Tater, If not mistaken it is a box turtle... Just leave her alone as they borrow 6 feet under the ground for winter... If she is out is still warm enough for her.... Do you have a creek or pond near where she is??? It may be a water turtle also... I can't find my book and I am brain dead.. She is beautiful....
Waving to everyone...
Hugs,
Susan
No water for about 5 miles. I did not know that turtle burrow for the winter. See I learned something new today!!! She is pretty. They must have strong claws, because our ground is so hard here. it takes a jack hammer to dig anything here, because our soil is caliche clay, and rock!!!
Thanks for the info.
Linda Kay
I do have a tendency to go on and on about my family. They do give me a lot to go on about. Jennifer my oldest grandaughter is attending OU and is making a name for her self. She is so beautiful and smart This is Jennifer and Carl her husband. He is going to be a teacher and a coach. And yes we have redheads in our family too. Real ones.
Thanks everyone for making my day so far. I loved the funnies.
I needed the lols. I am praying for Audrey. Glad someone checked on her. Darlene
Jaye, our resident angel, did you ask her if her sweetie was with her?
Brenda, forgot to tell you where I found that picture. I was looking in a thread from 2006 about recipes. You were explaining about the Christmas Cocktail...sugar cubes...champagne, etc. etc. :O)
OMG, Thanks for checking up on Audrey...Yes please post right away this evening.
That does not sound good at all.
Audrey, yes Please call the Doc, right away!!

OHHh...Spoke with Deborah, Thursday evening. She was doing ok. She knows you all are keeping her in your thoughts. She had beautiful feeling for all of you her Sistahs. Also, since i was having a fire I made a tobbaco offering (special prayers) for Aunt Lisa and Deborah...She was with Aunt Lisa, holding her hands as she went home to Jesus.
Thought you might like to know that.
OK got to run! Have a good afternoon everyone.
Darlene, I want to say welcome to the group. I know you will like it here. We are here to listen, to chat, to laugh and/or cry if you wish! We treat each other as sisters, ans as you can tell, we worry when one of us gets sick, or goes missing for awhile. So please keep posting, tell us your hobbies, what you all like to grow in your gardens.
Have a great day!
I am off to get m ore laundry done, and I am going to put up some Christmas decorations in the house. I wasn't going to, but I will at least get the nativity scene up!
LK
Heather your picture is wonderful. Your family is beautiful. How do you keep the boys away from your beautiful girls?
Whats a few more mouths to feed huh? my sister had 3 kids and they were always at my house or all at her house. So between us we had 7 kids. We always said saftey in numbers. And they intertained each other.
Thanks LK it is warm in this room with all you sistas.
Well I didn't want ta do it but here I go again, last minute christmas shopping for Punk Boy. See ya later Darlene
http://lowescreativeideas.com/idea-library/projects/Planter_Side_Table_1008.aspx
Look at these tables. I think I will make some for next year, for an outdoor table. Looks pretty easy to do.
Linda
Hey, I feel a little better now. I've quit sweating, and that wierd feeling in my chest is gone. I don't know what happened. Thanks, everyone for your thoughts!
Audrey
Whew, you gave us a scare. Glad to hear your doing OK.
Please keep an eye on your sugar, and don't hesitate to go to the Dr. if you need too! We need our Sisters!
Linda Kay
That's good news Audrey. Just don't eat the same thing, or take your Protonix before eating!!
Thank you so much for your special prayers Judy. To let go of her spirit so she would return to Jesus, must have been a beautiful experience.
Deborah, we're here for you.
LK, that looks so simple. If you can find old window panes, they can be converted into tables too, just add spindles for legs.
Rested enough, time to get busy.. that 4 letter word has been creeping up lately :D
I am home-I tried to drive to work, got about 1/2 way there, almost hit 3 cars, slide all over the place, had a panic attack, and pulled over, almost passed out from deep breathing, broke down and called everyone crying, sat there for about 30 min, then came home a different way.....I have finally stopped shaking, so I think I am good now...
PTL for taking care of our Niece.
Now fix you a hot cup of tea and just do nothing!!!
