Todays Weather in Your Garden - 35

4 - $dollars plowing driveways.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I hope everyone one is safe and warm!

We already have schools closed in anticipation of today's event. Average 8-12 inches expected, more to in "The Southtowns." Today's event has been scheduled for 8 AM to 4 PM.

The snows started promptly at 8 and we already have a good inch or two and it's only 9:30.

Good thing I like to shovel. Perfect timing, as the Cookie Bake-A-Ton starts today! Already have 7 different double batches in the refrigerate chilling!! So many to make, seems like three days won't be long enough.

Nothing here yet. Still predicting 6-10 inches. Kids are home. Up most of the night with my younger guy who has a stomach virus. Lots of laundry today! 30 degrees and cloudy.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Nothing in Danbury yet. I get to go home as soon as it starts snowing because I'm from California and can't drive in the snow. Haha!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Too funny Yank!! Do you use that one often??? lol

BTW...how many YEARS have you used that one???

Yeh...at 7:30 am this morning 4 huge power trucks drove up our street and John just called...We have electricity, we have cable...we have phone...WE'RE BACK

Of course they are now saying Nor'easter with 8-12 inches of snow on the way...but at least we're prepared for this one....

Good luck to all

Liza

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Yippee-yippee!! Doing a happy dance for you, Liza. We are south of the icy, snowy mess. Just rain predicted here.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Glad you got power back.

Around 8 started hail/snow/sleet mix now it's icy rain. 34

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Congrats Liza!!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Glad you have your power back on so you can watch the snow come down from a nice warm cozy spot. Congrats!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I know how great that feels.
We had an ice storm 15 years ago and had no power or heat for 10 days.Kids to me and the cats in ,dont want to do that again, the grandkids were 3and4

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Guess the farmer's almanac was right again.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I'm only about an hour south of you Jen. Looks like we are just missing it.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Its mostly north of NYCity and a band from Ohio to Vt.
Willi will gat the worst of it. State troopers are asking people not to drive and go slow.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

First flakes just starting to fall. We are now in the 12" plus zone. Oh joy, NOT! Only 29º so it will probably be light and fluffy at least. ☃❄❅❄

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Liza - so glad to hear you finally have power! Stay safe in the snow!

Victor - sorry to hear about your little guy's illness. Hope he feels better in time for Santa!!! I also hope you get some rest and enjoy a beautiful White Christmas!!

Thomaston, CT

Started snowing around 12:45, later than predicted---also snow totals down from first prediction---now it's 5-8". But I can see the rain line just south of Long Island---that warm air needs to push up here! Sorry about your son, Victor---joys of parenthood! But we love them, none the less!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Louise. He's feeling much better. Just hope no one else gets it. I don't want a white Christmas! That would mean the family would not be here. They won't drive in the snow so we'd be alone.

Looks like we have about six inches so far. Still snowing steadily, though lighter than before.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Well Victor I have snow coming tonight, more on Sunday and then another storm on Wed./Christmas Eve. I'm not getting a choice!!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I am guessing we got about 6" so far.... and now just freezing rain

Victor - glad to hear your little guy is better! When I wished you a White Christmas, I was thinking that the current storm will leave a nice blanket on the ground for Christmas, but by then the roads should be fine. Hope so for your sake!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Louise. White on the ground I'll take! Looks like we've gotten around 8 or 9 inches.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

oooooh, nice.......I actually miss snow, BUT NOT to drive in it!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Back in from another round of shoveling. DH is working the backhoe. It is wet sticky and moderately heavy snow. Current total 9" and it is still snowing. Wind between 8 and 10mph. I hope it slows down and stops soon. Two more storms headed this way, HO HO HO....phooey!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Wow, Pat........that's a lot of snow with more to come. Ho Ho Ho is right!!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Ho, ho, no! We are getting snow, snow, snow! Very pretty. Can't wait to see how much we have by morning. My sister, who is visiting from Alaska, took some pics tonight of our lights in the snow and our Christmas tree, which we set up in our enclosed porch this year, and they came out really nice. I'd like to share them, so here they are.

Actually my youngest sister, who lives here with me, did the lights. I can't take credit for it. She loves doing that.
