Todays Weather in Your Garden - 35
31 with just a dusting of snow on the grass. More snow predicted for the weekend.
Gray and damp.
I am packing for our escape vacation to see our DS in New Orleans for 12 days. Feels weird to not be cooking and decorating for Christmas. We did all the wrapping of gifts last week, so they could sent via UPS last Friday. So we are off to Hartford in the morning to hopefully catch a mid-day plane. We actually had tickets since Sept on a morning flight which meant we would have gone to Vt tonight and then driven down to Hartford in the morning, but DH made his hockey league play-offs that are tonight, so we are going standby tomorrow afternoon. I hate doing that but the old boy needs to skate while he still can, so standby it is. He actually got a nice helpful lady in India who told him that if we do the standby we don't have to pay the HUGE change fee. She checked the status and the next flight has lots of space plus there is a later one. Our son is working tonight so we had no real plans for tonight. I am taking a computer so I will tease you all with our, hopefully, good weather and food. My favorite brother and 93 year old mom are joining us for part of our trip. Patti
Have a safe and wonderful trip, Patti. Enjoy your visit with family.
Have fun Patti!
Have a good trip Patti, hope they don't get more snow down there like the little fluff last week. Enjoy!
We have a bit of everything this am. Snow, sleet, rain freezing rain and then rain again. Currently just a cold drizzle. Temp is 35 degrees. Just plain nasty.
Out of snowland--have a good trip. About 2" here overnight--6" predicted for Fri.
Have a safe trip and enjoy, Patti.

Been snowing all day it's just now starting to slow down. It's 19° degree's and it didn't get much over that today.
Hi guys...We have been without electricity and cable since thursday, Dec. 11th...kinda getting boring...finally I got power and cable at work, so was so pleased to come in today... and another two storms expected...
I am hopeful all of you out there in NH and beyond have gotten your electricity back...I missed running water the most...Finally we bought a generator Saturday and have running water, and bought a ventless propane unit which keeps the house toasty along with our fireplace...so it could be work...we still have trees down across our road...Worst I have ever seen it since moving to New England in l966...
Well good luck to all. Stay warm and safe.
Liza and John
Good to hear from you and glad you are okay! Stay well. Hope the power comes back soon.
Glad to hear that you are coping pretty well up there. The boredom would get to me pretty quickly with no comp. or tv, and the no running water thing, woo. I hope they get the mess and elect. taken care of before the next storm hits. I guess it is going to be more of a southern NE event this time, so that at least is a good thing for you. Good luck and glad you could check in.
Yay! Thanks for posting and letting us know your OK!!
We still have a few more M.I.A.
Jan (grampapa) is posting over in the seeds forum as of the 15th so she's OK.

Glad Jan is allright as well. (grampapa)
Jan
JWLW, now I feel guilty about our wonderful trip south tomorrow. Glad you are now back in the 21st century with running water. What a pain. Nice to have heat too.
Thanks all for the kind bon voyage. All packed and ready to go. DH lost his hockey game, but he was happy to skate. Off at 7:00 to get to Hartford and get on standby. Hope we make it. Glad we are going tomorrow.

Glad to hear all is well with you both, John and Liza. I would get bored, too. I'd be stir crazy after all that time. I'd probably get more sleep. LOL!
Patti, have a great trip. I look forward to hearing all about your adventures there. I would like to visit New Orleans one day.
Karen
Glad to hear you are enduring the storm OK, Liza and John, and that you have a generator and heat, esp.! A week is way too long to go without electricity, I think we start getting cabin fever about day 5 around here.
Have a great time in N'Orleans, Patti! That's probably my fav. city. envy!
Jan (Grampapa) is out this way, so I know the power is OK there.
We are expecting around 7 inches tomorrow, we'll see what actually falls.

27 and clear. 6-12 inches tomorrow - oh no!!!!!
The calm before the storm today. Sunny and should hit mid 40s. Currently just at freezing, 32 degrees with no wind to speak of. Winter storm warnings for tomorrow and 6-12 inches or more predicted. Should be done by 8pm . I used to like snow this time of year but now all I have to say is Bah Humbug!
I no longer like snow any time of year. Well, maybe in August.
Hi all...thanks for the concern...we are coping fine...at least I get to come to work and be connected to the world.
I live in Atkinson and the Town Manager happened to come into our office today, and he says our section of town, unfortunately, is not even scheduled for repairs yet...I guess they lost numerous transformers and poles, and they are fixing all the areas of town that don't have major issues, so we will be last...Our street does look like a tornado came through...will be lots of clean up for John and I to do...but last night I hooked up my rabbit ears, and was able to watch the news for the first time in a week...We get about 2 stations on rabbit ears, but at least we have that, and we still have our telephone...yeh..
I have even gotten used to the sound of all the generators in the neighborhood, and now most houses on our street have lights because we have all somehow found generators...so we are a city of our own,
Everyone is saying that we are in the 6-8 inch snow zone for tomorrow and then again Sunday...so who knows. Can't wait to garden again.... I took this picture early last spring...and even it looks inviting to me now...
Liza
All stay warm and safe and in case we lose the internet again here at work.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
Patti - have a wonderful, safe trip and the happiest of holidays with DS!!
It was around 40 & sunny today--managed a short walk---glad to hear John & Liza are fine---Patti, have a wonderful Christmas in NO---Pixie---sorry about the snow---spoke to my stepson Mike in Kport last night--he also had snow but happy his power is back. At Cabelas, where he works, the 600 generators sold in 90 min! Snow warnings are up here, but I'm hoping they're wrong!
Oh yeah...one storm down 2 more to go. The big one is Sunday/Monday....they it's it's a good old fashioned Nor'Easter.
man this freaks me out
Snow occurring on Dec 19 | Dec 20 | Dec 21. Total amount 11.2 Inches.
I know most of you get this all the time... but i don't
:(
LOL..Mondays storm could bring me that all by it's self!! Your right , im use to it, kinda.
you guys are veterans with this stuff... not me... rookie!
Istill hate driving in it!!!
I would think we all have that in common... hope it snows early enough so I can just stay home... if it happens
Me too, you can have a snow day and play! I just got done x-mas shopping on line. It time for bed.... Good night! ^_^
well we have nothing yet... guess I have to go to work... and fight to get back home later... oh joy
Awe, sorry Allison, not doing anything here yet either.
Still dark and in the low 20s. Just a heavy frost out there now. I was hoping a stray heat wave might come up from down south to save us again from this snow, but guess not this time. Forecast is now 8-14 inches by tomorrow. Don't need it, don't want it and don't like it. At least it will look nice from inside. Hope that anyone without elect. doesn't get hit again too bad. Stay safe all.
Well there is one maybe two silver linings to all this snow that's coming. One: It is good for the garden as a nice blanket to insulate against all the freeze /thaw cycles we have here and Two: The kids will enjoy their sleds and sliders during school break giving parents a break too. :)
# 3 It will be a "White Christmas" ^_^
