There's a fly in my craft room that's driving me bonkers... he wont light so I can whack him... ugh..

Tia Tina, here's what I used to do... my youngest son found out when he started Kindergarten that he could actually say "I don't like that"... works for some kids, but not mine.
I used to present one food at a time to him... like at supper, put 5 bites of pork chops on his plate, then after he eats those bites, just put a small spoonful of potatoes, when he finishes those, put 5 green beans on his plate. After he finishes small bits of everything the rest of us were eating, I'd ask him if he'd like seconds of anything... if he said no, he could have a peanut butter sandwich (or whatever else I had left over that he did like, warmed up)... point is, he had to try everything the rest of us were eating first before he could get to the stuff he liked... After a while, he just decided that real food was pretty good after all.

My mom was like LK-it was eat it or starve and it will be served for the next meal and the next until I eat it-she did not do this for things that I REALLY hated like Liver, squash or Spinach-but everything else....had to eat at least 1/2 o what was on my plate...

Trisha-I need a banner to fly from my car that says that!!LOL

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

My goodness yes. That is exactly how he is. He will take baby bites and then gag. Maybe I should start out with 2 spoonfulls. I know he needs to get the good stuff in him. Especially if he is going to be wrestling. Thank God he like milk and apple juice. Orange juice tears his hinney up. Now I can get him to eat fruit. i will take it one step at a time, maybe introduce one new food to him a week. I just hate to see him go to bed hungry.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

TOugh love-also, something my mom did was if I wanted to do X, like join wrestling, I had to sign a contract saying that I would do X chores a week and also do X like keep up my grades (his X could be eating) and if I violated it, I would not be allowed to do Blank activity-I was about 6 or 7 when these started...

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

He will NOT even in any shape form fashion touch potatoes. No way. I made a what I call clean out the fridg casserole not to long back and mixed in some mashed potatoes, he took one bite and that was it he spit it out. It was mac and cheese, hamburger steak all leftover and which he likes. He tasted the potatoes in there.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Good Idea Stacey, maybe I can get his coach to help me here, I know they have to eat healthy to keep weight on and down. I WILL NOT diet him to keep him in a certain weight class. I have seen it done. I will talk to my daughter (oldest, her husband is one of his coaches) and see if he can talk to Punk boy. He really loves wrestling.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Dang you ladies are fast.

I'm loving all the links and all the crafty ideas.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Tia, tell him that he needs to eat certain foods to make him strong so that he can wrestle. My daughter and grandson are like that, but my granddaughter she LOVES to eat and she will try anything once.

Hello Robyn,

Question for you. Can you freeze home made bread dough. I want to make up a bunch of like dinner rolls, freeze then take out what I need to bake.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I got to get Laura back in line to read some of these ideas to work on Sage.!

Hey Stacey.....lets get one of these stepping stones for your boss!!!!!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Yes you can Cindy. Wrap them up real good in plastic wrap and then in freezer wrap or tupperware. Don't let them set to long in the freezer though, 3 months tops for refrigerator freezer 5 months in deep freeze.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Robyn isnt it just after the 1st rise on the rolls tho.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

I let them rise first, punch down, shape, then freeze on whatever I'm doing.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Ok that is what I was thinking.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

This is just to funny! I received that catalog in the mail today but haven't looked at it yet. Hummm, do I see trouble in my future or what?

Cindy, I'm not Robyn but I make biscuits ahead and freeze those to take out later as needed. Works fine so far so I would think bread dough would be the same. Just have to let it rise again I think.

Boy does the eating sound familiar! Our son wouldn't touch it if it wasn't brown or white! Hamburgers, bread---so when he was grown we all went out to dinner and imagine his Dad's surprise when he ordered the most expensive seafood dish on the menu!! Somewhere along the line he learned to love seafood. Eats most everything now. Daughter won't eat anything with nuts in it--puts a crink in my baking cookies, breads or cakes with nuts.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

I spent 86.00 today on baking items for all the gift baskets I have to make. Geez the prices are getting sky high.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I have 2 like that Marion a daughter and guess who. No nuts for them.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I don't think if I got one ofr my boss that it would be that nice....

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

It certainly adds up fast doesn't it. I can't believe I can buy gas cheaper than I can a gallon of milk---some breads even.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Robyn that is the truth. Cant hardly afford to feed anyone anymore let alone make extra things.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

I know that feeling about the nuts, my daughter and grand daughter won't eat it with nuts either. But they will eat pecans separately.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

When we were at Market Days yesterday I enjoyed me a snack size of sweet and salty pecans!! Oh what pleasure. Otherwise forget it--have to leave the nuts out as most things are way to much for one person to eat. Son likes nuts but GDs --nope!!!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Well my baskets are going to be half the size as they usually are and I'm going to have to cut about 4 people out of the giving too. Just can't afford it anymore.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

My daughter will eat boiled peanuts--figure that one out.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

ewwwwwwwwwwwwww lol

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

With the prices for groceries today it is really a nice gesture you are doing any Robyn. I know the feeling as I usually do a lots of baking for gifts. Usually bake 2 - 3 cakes to donate to my daughter's faculty party but not this year. Geezzzzzz

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

All this talk of food I'm going to have to go start dinner here shortly. Think I'll make potato soup with some of the leftover pork roast and then with the rest I'll freeze to make Tamales next week.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Only going to bake for christmas day this year.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Trade you my navy bean soup for your potato soup!!! Love the stuff.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

I'll have to make a goodie plate for the gals at my daughter's work place and then one for DH's too. Luckily there won't be too much to do for them. Besides it will keep me from eating the leftover candy and such. I don't need to gain weight that I just lost.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

mmmmmmmmmmmmm tamales, I have this lady that makes them for me. I pay 10 bucks a dozen and they are well worth it. I guess I should try to make them my self.

I love potato soup also, I had the very very best ever in Switzerland this past spring. It was to die for.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Make the beans into Navy Bean Pie. Yum!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh do tell!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

I'll have to look for the recipe for the pie. It tastes like butterscotch when you eat it.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
