(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh yes he is staying here, she tried to take him and I had to be a bit forceful. I am trying to keep his life as normal as possible. He will stay on same schedule as usual. He has practice tonight his aunt Nes is taking him.

He does ask questions and I try to keep it as honest as I can without saying anything bad about his mom.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Check out these ornaments. Very pretty for sure.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Woo Hoo... I did it , Cindy!!!... first one is in the oven... I'm so excited...
I'll post a pic as soon as it's sanded and polished...
It's amazing how fast things can be done when the inspiration hits you right between the eyes.

Ok, here's the inspiration Cindy got me started with...
I've been wanting to do some garden stake like things with plant identifiers on them... Cutsy, gardeny, and easy to make out of something I already have around the house.
Well, a couple days ago I got out these old glass ornaments and played around with them, but just wasn't inspired... then today, Cindy posted that light bulb bee, and light bulbs started flashing in my head (literally)...
So, instead of burned out light bulbs... I'm going to use these old glass ornaments...
Ok, I don't think I'm making sense here... but I'll get a pic posted in a bit so you can get the idea.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Doing happy dance here also--I got a raise in my SS also!!! Oh the joys of being over 65!!!!! Watch we twist and turn.

Cindy, you should never have posted that link. I send it to my DD with a huge HINT attached. Hummm, wonder if she will take it? Who knows.

Back to my machine and to check on my navy beans. Can hardly wait, navy bean, ham hock and cornbread!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh BJ how clever, show us when they are ready!!! Wahoo, something again today. Love it!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Now every time I go to Mum’s she brings out another item we have made at some point…..”Did you show them this one yet? What did they think about______???

I am so glad Laura showed me how to do the split screen so I can DG on one side and my word page on the other so I put down what I want to post as I read!.....still takes me forever but........

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

LOL talk about enabler, yes we will be having beans (brown tho) and taters and cornbread tomorrow night. 69 degrees today and the bottom falls out tonight, post to get rain and possible snow. KEEP fingers crossed it was a year ago this week we lost power due to an ice storm for 8 days. I think I will write down someones number just in case we lose power and I can call ya and let ya know we are safe.

But we shouldnt lose power out here, they cleared all the lines last year of all the trees.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Need help here, anyone have or had a VERY VERY picky eater, his mom raised him on Mc donalds, Taco Bell, Sonic.............. he will only eat, spaghetti, chicken strips, a couple bits of green beans, hamburger, tacos, PB&J. And of course Ramon noodles. I had welfare called on me over them dang noodles. I have got to find a way to sneak in some good foods for him. Not all this fried, boxed stuff.

He will eat pork chops only if I lie to him and tell him it is chicken. Last night he ate 3 plates of spaghetti.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

LOL i do also BJ.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Lady bugs anyone???

Cindy, do you see what you have started???

Tia, it is called tough love, you just have to make them eat it. I told my boys they eat this or they go hungry, and then it will be served for the next meal until they do! They eventually learned to eat what was put on the table for them. Right now he is teaching you what he wants!
It is a phase all/most kids go through. Just be tough, and tell him this is good food, and you will eat it!!! Maybe take a bite, and show him it is good?

LK

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

We have done that, even when Papa is home he tries to tell him it will make him grow up strong like papa and he will try. I am planning on doing a 5 bite thing. You must take 5 bites. when I do that I make sure there is no bread there, he will take the 5 bites of bread. And I try to make at least one thing he does like. But I am sick of eating pizza or chicken strips. AND I AM NOT a short order cook.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

BJ are those too cute. I don't know why I got the catalog...?? maybe because I'm an online shopping junkie...LOL

There was a story awhile back on a radio station about this guy who made a bet with his friends that he could eat McDonald's hamburgers, 3 meals a day for 30 days. Well on day 26 he got really sick went to the hospital told them his story as it turns out his liver got damaged from all that yukkie hambuger and the doc said that his liver may not even recover itself.

Yep need to feed that boy good home cooking Tia.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

OMG that is horrible. I can imagine that. I am going to start putting my foot down. I had picky eaters, Like one daughter would not eat corn so I would make 2 veggies a night, no problem, I had one that would eat anything but mushrooms, no problem they were on the side, had one that would not touch chili, not a problem she ate a PB&J that night and she made it. Oh 3 of the 4 WOULD not eat onions or salad. They have pretty much grown out of it now but still. This kid will just not eat. Now that his mom isnt picking him up from school and filling him with chips and bug juice and candy, I can control it a bit better. I might mash up some carrots and put in spaghetti and some corn to put in mac and cheese, you know go with colors so he cant see them.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Tia he sounds just like Sage. It has been two years and we are still working on her....progress, but slow!!! At least she likes teriyaki chicken, broccoli and cabbage....NO seasonings of any kind.....when we got her she would eat oatmeal, ramen and fruit loops!! It is still hard to get her to eat veggies....so we have a lot of broccoli, cabbage, and salad....no Tomatoes! Only lettuce.....I have reached the point that she has to eat (and I HAVE TO SEE IT) at least two bites (real bites, not just sticking her tongue against the food and going yuk!) of whatever I give her or she does not get her scoop of ice cream before she goes to bed! She has to eat at least half of what is on her plate before she is allowed to have bread or that is all she will eat. You have my prayers Tia, we have both been given quite a challenge haven't we??
