Checking in-just got home from work. I'm with Joycet ya'll talk too dang fast !!
Looks Like I missed a good bit this afternoon in my frenzy. The pc seems to be better now but only time will tell..
On the other Hand the paint is now a Peachy pink color! dd the whole room in 2 coats and its dry but still the wrong color! I broke the curtain rod while gracefully falling off the corner of the bed.. Then as I went down I thought I could catch my footing on the floor and stepped into Tony's chair and my foot went right through it then to the floor... uggghhh Cut my ankle all the way up the back and painted myself a bit but survived...
Now the delima... If the wall was Yellow and I put Tan paint on it and it turned Peachy pink... What will happen if I put a slate grey over it to cover the peachy pink... Uggghh I dont wanna paint it again but that color has to go...
Did I hear mention of pink tools??? I bought Christina (my best friend) the pink set at walmart when she moved into her own place and the first time I used the hammer ....lol..... I bent it all the way the wrong way.... I guess I need big tools spray painted......
Ummm Peanut beutter cups......... YUMM ...................
Can you do a faux glaze over it with a sponge (or whatever you like) to darken it up? I did a bathroom that turned out waaay to pink, fauxed over it with a white glaze, viola, much softer and prettier. What color did you want it to be? Faux painting is very easy...
Brenda
We were going for the color of sand... Its for my sons room and this is just not going to work...lol
Donna, Brenda's idea should work. Try a brown using a sponge and it should turn a camel to imitate leather.
hmmmmm never done glazing is it hard?
Exactly. Brown would work. You can get the directions on the can of glaze that you buy at Home Depot or whatever hardware/paint store you have, or a clerk there should be able to tell you. You just mix the glaze with the color you want and use a natural sponge to sponge it on. There are many other techniques, but I've found this to be the easiest. You do need to tape off walls that you don't want to get paint on (or ceilings), and cut a small bit of sponge off for getting in the corners. You can do it! And, it's fun!
No it's not. I glazed blue chair rails and trim in our dinning room with black glaze when we built my house. Very simple. You can use a sponge or a rag or even a sheet to get a effects of leather. Home Depot or Sherwin Williams sells glazes.
And Brenda's right on again! It is fun! LOL
Went out and checked my shelves and I have 1 quart of taupe and 1 quart of Burnt Sienna.. What do you think.. No idea where or when I got this but its unopened
Dang, Donna... you're a fast painter to get two coats on in one day. I just can't imagine why you'd get pink out of yellow and tan... perhaps the tan just has some pinkish pigments in it. I know I painted a wall once with taupe... looked right on the paint chip... but when I got it all over the big wall, it looked purple. I ended up doing a darker brown sponge pouncing all over it, then washing it down with a white mixed with glaze... turned out perfect (or I was just tired of messing with it, maybe)...
wow how long did tha take you..
Not long... it really goes quick... but I didn't tape anything.. I used a straight edged plastic paint guard against the ceiling to keep from getting the paint on the ceiling.
If that's paint you found, it should cover the pink paint nicely. Use a sponge and dip into both the taupe and the Sienna and do a test to see if you like it. You may be able to stretch 2 quarts of paint in that room using a sponge.
I'd mix the paint with glaze 1/2 and 1/2 before you apply it with a sponge.
REMEMBER... you don't want much of the paint on your sponge... wipe most of the paint off before you touch your wall... and then lightly pounce... when it's dry, it will cover more than you think.

Heres what the bottles say...
Deorative effects by Valspar (funny its the same brand of paint I used)
Translucent Color Gaze
Beautiful Faux Finishes 1quart
Then, that's already mixed with glaze... ready to use just like it is... but, still don't load too much on your sponge... rag... or whatever.
You can even take Walmart bags scrunched up, or and old tee shirt wadded up... make sure you have lots and lots of wrinkles in it.
Okay that may be tomorrows project to try once everyone is out of the house.. Thanks for all your advice..
Be back in a bit gotta go throw the idea at Max..
New room sistahs. Dial ups aren't fun!!

Hello Girls,
Wow go to work and look at all I missed...LOL Kim you never have to behave to hang with me and you know that..... I can't remember all the names of all of you yet so here goes... I am really glad your dad is doing pretty good and you all have time to catch his clogs before they are to bad.... I love peanut butter Ms. Dimmer oh and that is Mrs.Turtlechi to you miss....ROTFLMAO... Pictures of my pups huh??? Well give me a few days and I will take up to date ones unless I can find the picture of when Dimmer was here and she was covered with them..LOLOLOL and what a nice person not to mind if 3 slept with us...LOLOLOL What type of job do I have???? Well I work for a Vet and do a little of everything... Worked there for 14 some years and I love my job... Country vet no big head down to earth can be a pain in the butt at times but most times she is a good person to work with... I work Tuesday-Thursday and Sally works on Monday and Friday.... Boss (Pravia) works afternoons by herself and also on Sats... Her kids use to fill in but now they are all grown.... No computer, copy machine, no printer, no high tech anything except cool surgery things.... We were the first in this area to have a laser to do surgery with... We have a machine where you put a scope in a little hole and a tv turns on and you can see almost anything inside... I could have been Grandfathered in years ago as a "Vet Tech" but I don't need the title.... I love my job.... I see new things all the time... She was my Vet before I worked for her and so what I say now is not because I work for her... She does not have great people skills but her hands were blessed by God when it comes to surgery....
As you can see I am not depressed today... yeah.... MIL twin sister is doing pretty good even with the heart attach they are saying she may come home this week so that is good...
I spent the last two hours looking for this toy on line for my GD and son told me it was V-Tech well guess what is it Fisher Price... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... I hate to shop as people are not that very friendly and when they start yelling at the lady behind the register I start to boil.... So I shop on line ....LOLOLOL Almost done with my shopping.... I do have to go out this Friday to buy a few things for some special people for two swaps or trades or just plan old love for all you gals....
Ok my book is over for now as NCIS is on and I get to drool over the lead man....LOLOL

TurtleChi
