Todd?? Have we succeeded in making your Darlin' Wife happy??
If she's happy.. then we're happy too!!!
You are so welcome LK. I had to get Kel his own box of Rocher choccies!! He won't let me put those in your box!! So glad you can use the fabric. It's been washed and pressed, so cut away :D

Now sistahs, why don't we just make Kim our resident baker? She got plenty of time to experiment.. let's find some 'rolled oats' recipes!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

NO BAKE CHOCOLATE OATMEAL COOKIES

2 cups sugar
1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup Pet milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups oats

In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients except peanut butter and oats and cook over medium heat.
Let boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and oats.

Spoon out quickly onto wax paper or aluminum foil.

Cookies will harden as they set.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Pouting here!! No respect for old ladies at all!! Sob! sob!! Just for that I will eat some more of my Kim's oatmeal cookies with craisins. I did so covet that datebar Flamingo Kim. Maybe next time for sure. ;-(

Linda Kay have fun reading them--and enjoy a matched pair of socks!! I haven't read a novel since I have discovered quilting magazines!! Oh the plans, the dreams, the excitement the not doing any of it!!

Phyllis I forgot earlier --so that was a subtle hint? Tried to be --well discreet with it. Sorry! LOL Seriously if you make those to sell contact me--would love a blue heron but of course has to have a ladybug somewhere.

I found this info on rolled oats, while searching for recipes from this site.

http://www.foodsubs.com/GrainOats.html

quick oats = quick-cooking oats = quick oatmeal = quick-cooking oatmeal = easy oats Notes: These are thin flakes of oatmeal that cook up in about three or four minutes. They're a good choice for oatmeal cookies. Substitutes: rolled oats (More nutritious and chewy, takes longer to cook. If substituting rolled oats for quick oats in a cookie recipe, consider refrigerating the dough for 20 minutes before baking-- otherwise the cookies may become too flat and thin) OR instant oats (This contains additional flavorings, and is less chewy. It also takes less time to cook)

Hello,

Well, my mom went home. She called me as soon as she got in her driveway. Then she went in her house, checked her phone messages and found out a lady friend of hers passed away Friday. So that was a huge downer for her after having a good weekend here with us.

Marion, I received the box of containers. I was going to buy some of the little roly poly ones yesterday when I was in Wal-Mart, sure glad I didn't. I make tea lites for those. The other shot glasses will make perfect votives. Thank You.

Cindy

What a very kind offer!! However, just keep the date bar I will get on next time around! Funny all this chatter about oaks--my late hubby was project manager for Quaker Oats projects down in Belle Glades before the plant was closed. Laughing joke was everyone went on exotic trips--I went to Belle Glades!!! He worked on their deep injection well--the scientific part of it--wanted to get into the other but driller wouldn't let him--still managed to get very dirty!!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

LOVE the no bake Oatmeal Cookies.....they are soooooo goood!!!!

Marion, since they aren't sharing, this is for you.....

Glad you didn't buy any as I have had those for a while. Finally found the right box. There is another box somewhere but I think it maybe in the storage unit. Need to check one day. Enjoy.

Well I am glad all things have gotten to their destinations. BTW, Cindy were any broken?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

OH MY!!! Trisha that is beautiful. Is it a card or painting? That is so nice and the colors are wonderful. OH my, oh my.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Just 1 of the rolu poly, but I think that was because of how it was made. Being already cracked.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

...or being moved it wasn't packed to well and then jostled around during the move. Might add not handled to gently either. Okay so 1 isn't bad.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Thanks Marion, it is one of the few Oil Paintings I did in one of my classes about five years ago......I love the Blue Herons......we get quite a few of them around the bay and they are so Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

No you packed it WELL. Nothing moved and the box was not squarshed

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Trisha, it is just beautiful!!! Yes, that is why where I live is Blue Heron Point. I sit most mornings with my coffee watching them feed along the lakeshore. Such gracious elegant birds!!! You did a fantastic job with the painting.

Dang... I was sitting here one minute reading the posts... and the next minute I was just about to fall asleep. I went to lay down a minute with Don, and next thing I knew, I was waking up from a nap. Sheesh...

WOW... is that tree really that big? or is that trick photography? It looks huge from here.

I want blue herons on my lake. Haven't seen nary a one anywhere around here... must be a east coast/west coast thing.

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Wow, Zhinusmom, that is a gorgeous painting! Nice tree, Turtle chi (still need to learn everyone's names... I know they're at the top, but I'm in a hurry, dogs want to go out!). Can't wait to see everyone's decorations and trees!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

LOL yeah I got the hint and will have to see what I can find in a pattern with a blue heron and a lady bug .......or find pictures to make into a pattern.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Sorry, seriously scanning, so sorry if I missed something, but I did go through two rooms today so I don't feel too bad.

Good Evening Ladies;
Just got home from work..How's everyone doing?

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Here is the wreath I made yesterday at the Advent fair. The booth was actually set up for swags, so I didn't have a frame; it's not exactly a circle, but I think it looks pretty good.

Been gone from the thread for so long I had a lot of catching up to do. BJ, hope you had a good Thanksgiving weekend and was able to keep all the goodies down.
Sounds like everyone is getting into the Christmas mood. I spent Thanksgiving with family at Stacey & DS and then we went shopping Friday. Not big stuff, just Libby Glass Factory (I must stay away from that place!). Then home for dinner and a movie with friends.
Sunday and today was cleaning house and getting the Christmas decorations put up. It means getting all my containers up from the basement and that is very difficult for me. They are heavy and so am I! Made it and got everything done except the tree. I put up a small one with miniature decorations.
Tomorrow I must go back to work and then this weekend it will be three days of baking with two of my DIL's. Means driving about three hours and I hope the snow we have been getting for the past two days stops by then. We have lots of wet, sticky snow; freezes at night and then half melts in the day. Bad stuff!
Still have my stocking to make for swap, 2009 to think more about, and not done with Christmas shopping...not enough hours in the day.
See you on the flip side....

He has my heart cute lil thing.. His name is Spencer and he is in the 1st grade... Short story ,, I have been cutting his hair since his first cu tat 18months old and he has never talked to me.. Rotten will giggle , give me huggs and kisses and will not go to anyone but me.. My buddy..
Well he Told me Merry Christmas today and the rambled on during his haircut.. I couldnt stop smiling listening to him finally talk to me.. Now to figure out something small I can put under the tree for him...

Jay thank you for your comment on my wreath I made. I really liked it but its nice to know others opinions since it was only the second time I have done anything with custom creating them...

Marion would the broher sewing machine Walmart sells be okay for beginner sewing and possible a small bit of quilting?

Trisha... The Picture of the Lady ...WOW that has to be the best idea I have ever seen! Also thanks for mentioning the drink Mix to Bj for Don.. It really does work I had forgotten about it. I dont get sick often but whne I do I have honey and lemon juice in the fridgejust for a hot tottie....

LK looks like you got som egreat treats to keep you busy for while..

Laura I love the blue on your door and your wreath goes very nicely with it. We are planning on painting ours brick red once it warms up enough.

As I said you all have been angels to our family this season and you all really have made a huge difference in our lives..

Merry Christmas and The Biggest Bear Huggs Ever !

Donna, Max, Tristen and Tony

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Donna, the Brothers machine should do well for sewing and light quilting--certainly wouldn't undertake heavy things on it though. Great for a beginner for sure.

Laura, lucky lady not only having Trisha for a Mom but for owning the lovely painting. I envy you!! She did a beautiful job on both pictures.

Hi Lisa, late checking in here as I have been busy working in my so called "dungeon
" with my son. It is to be my craft room if he quits building and then tearing it apart!! To much of a perfectionist for me!!

Welcome back Janice. I mailed you Christmas square today so hopefully it won't take long to get there. Nope not black and white but Christmas colors. LOL Counting the days for B& W!!!!!

Naps are always good BJ!!! Highly recommend them at any time.

Hope you made it outside quickly enough for your dogs Brenda. When they want to go they usual mean go now!!!!

Hope all in the snowy cold weather are staying warm and cozy--we are having winds still and low tonight of 32!! Good snuggle down weather. I am piling the comfortors on!!!

Oh Phyllis, really. Dmail me about it and what you charge. That would be so neat since we have oodles of herons here. Of course, the ladybug has a very special significance to me--will explain sometime if you don't know.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

dmail on its way

now have to get busy and finish the bag for mom and then work on the lap quilt LOL..have until the day after Christmas to get her stuff done..as that is when they will get here

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Laura, Laura.. I love the simple beauty of your wreath. Kel and I were saying, if we were to do Christmas wreaths, they'd be blue and silver. And I think that's what niece Stacey likes too.
Donna, it's not much, but just want you to have a Merry Christmas. That's what sistahs are for.. to support one another.

OK.. here's the LSU wreath Marion made for me. The details are posted on Debra's thread.

Janice, have you resume sewing? I'd go crazy if I don't have a working sewing machine! That's why I have two.. just in case :D

Susan, your 2009 swap buddy has these questions for you.
Do you collect anything?
Are you allergic to anything?
Favorite Color/scent?
Favorite Music?
Favorite flower?
Pets? What breed?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oooops, forgot the link to Debra's Wreath Swap.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Isn't she supposed to? Haven't checked.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Well I guess Stacey will do it tomorrow morning.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I thought so but haven't seen it up today. I think I will call it a night and go to bed. House is cooling off and the nice thick comforter are calling my name. LOL

Night all. Sleep well and will chat tomorrow the good Lord be willing.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Night.. sleep tight.. LK will have coffee first thing in the morning :D

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
