Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Mornin Phyllis... Susan... Waving at ya...

Still doing good Phyllis... now, how strange is that?

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

It's odd, but a GOOD thing! Congrats, BJ on feeling good these past few days. Maybe something healed inside? Still no appt date with the neurologist team?

Susan, let's all hope you don't get beat up! My goodness, where do you work? Five chihuahua's? Photos pleeeeeeeeeeeease???????

Marion, that's a beautiful wreath. Love the painted vines. And your bow is gorgeous. I've never been able to make pretty bows. Will you teach me? I finished DH's pair of wreaths last night and the bows look awful. Will you share why the ladybug is significant for you? I know that's one of your 'favorites', but didn't know why.

Good morning everyone! Back to Santa and stocking swap today. Two days in a row to craft! Wheeeeee!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, lots of you up early, and thanks for the coffee machine, you got any cinnamon coffee around?
Yes, I agree the wreath is very pretty, and just her color too!!! I think she fell asleep with that big grin on her face!
I finally got a good nights sleep. Even though I take ambien to help me get to sleep, sometimes it only lets me sleep for 5 hours or so. I get my new sleeping pills called lunesta next week. We will see how those work.
BJ, so glad you are still pain free. You have got to be feeling so much relief, knowing your not going to be in pain everynight?

LK

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Morning all.

Found out last night my niece is having a girl. Lillyann Grace. Due April 28th.
Will be making her lots of cute things soon.

Punk Boy started wrestling practice last night with my SonIL as his coach. He is a natural. They have a Tournament this weekend but he wont enter will go to it just to see how it goes. Oh boy now the fun of Tournaments begins, at least with wrestling is indoors unlike when my girls played softball it was out side in the elements.

Jaye you can send Mary Ellen an email and ask her if she would quilt for you. She designed that arc ruler.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning All,
We have had fog for a week or so, today no fog yea. Will be in the high 60's.

Marion, I think your daughter will like these.

Kids Are Quick

TEACHER: Maria, go to the map and find North America.

MARIA: Here it is.

TEACHER: Correct. Now class, who discovered America?

CLASS: Maria.

TEACHER: John, why are you doing your math multiplication
on the floor?

JOHN: You told me to do it without using tables.

TEACHER: Glenn, how do you spell 'crocodile?'

GLENN: K-R-O-K-O-D-I-A-L'

TEACHER: No, that's wrong

GLENN: Maybe it is wrong, but you asked me how I
spell it.

TEACHER: Donald, what is the chemical formula for water?

DONALD: H I J K L M N O.

TEACHER: What are you talking about?

DONALD: Yesterday you said it's H to O.

TEACHER: Winnie, name one important thing we have today
that we didn't have ten years ago.

WINNIE: Me!

TEACHER: Glen, why do you always get so dirty?

GLEN: Well, I'm a lot closer to e ground than
you are.

TEACHER: Millie, give me a sentence starting with
'I.'

MILLIE: I is..

TEACHER: No, Millie..... Always say, 'I am.'

MILLIE: All right... 'I am the ninth letter
of the alphabet.'

TEACHER: George Washington not only chopped down his
father's cherry tree, but also admitted it. Now, Louie,
do you know why his father didn't punish him?

LOUIS: Because George still had the axe in his hand.

TEACHER: Now, Simon, tell me frankly, do you say prayers
before eating?

SIMON: No sir, I don't have to, my Mom is a good
cook.

TEACHER: Clyde , your composition on 'My Dog' is
exactly the same as your brother's. Did you copy his?

CLYDE : No, sir. It's the same dog.

TEACHER: Harold, what do you call a person who keeps on
talking when people are no longer interested?

HAROLD: A teacher

PASS IT AROUND AND MAKE SOMEONE LAUGH!

LAUGHTER IS THE SOUL'S MEDICINE!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Phyllis how neat --may I have some coffee too! Slept well all snuggled in my comfortors!!

BJ, that is such wonderful news--let's go for a real record now of being pain free--like say permanantly!!!! No appointment yet? How is Don feeling today?

Yeah, where is Chickie Momma? Check in please, we miss you.

Kim the exotic!!! So good to see you post and shame on you for lurking!! That isn't nice we need you keeping us all out of trouble. Just what is on your schedule for baking for the holiday season. Last time I noticed on a post I think I recall you had just put 15 lbs (?) of cream cheese in the mixer? Did I get the right? If so, what type mixer do you own?

Susan, not getting beat up please and let Flamingo Kim have all the fun she wants!! Even if it is misbehaving a wee bit. She needs to kick her heels up but just remember to return to us!!

Tia, Tina, Whatever, Punk Boy into wrestling? Oh my goodness!! Well if it interest him and he is good then encourage it--I think, still not decided. Tell us how is the little guy with no fuzz around his neck. I have worried so about him. LOL Gotta keep the neck warm!!!

Linda Kay, glad you are doing okay. Feet all nice and toasty with your socks. Must be nice having matched pairs now.

Okay, Debra, come on over and we will see if we can tie bows together. I have a sneaky feeling you do beautiful bows--just are being kind.

Waving to all I missed.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, that was so funny. Thanks for the smiles!
LK

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Marion, my feet are nice and cozy, and all matched up now. I think just about everyone has sent the last one to make them all pairs! And what a collection it is. Wow. It will be a while before I need any more socks and booties! LOL

LK

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

^_^

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

LK, you're not going to hang the socks on the board I made? I thought maybe you would save them.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

That was just to funny Cindy. Did cut and paste so I could send to Kim. Provide a laugh for her today I am sure.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have most of them on the board, they won't all fit on it. When I want to change to a different pair, I take one down, and put another one on it! I love your board, and when I showed it to my granddaughter, I almost lost it to her. I told her Mom she had to make her one for herself!
I love the sock display board, and ll the lovely socks that you all sent.
Cindy, I still can't get over all the time you put into all those little shrinkies you made. So lovely for sure!
Thank you
Linda

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

It is almost worth having foot surgery to get one of those boards from Cindy. NOT!!!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I don't know about the foot surgery, times 2!!!!! I start physical therapy next week, so I hope that helps with the healing process.
LK

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Good morning, all, Happy Tuesday! Hope you're having a great day!

Brenda

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Ah ha! Just the sistah we needed to check in--Brenda I bet you know the secret to making really nice bows--share with Debra and me please. I can muddle through them with some twisitng and turning but could always use some more help!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Brenda, how are you doing today? What are you doing today? I am about to go for a nice hot shower, and get moving here. It is about 47 here, so a little cool. Gonna go and chaeck on the brugs, and make sure they are doing well.
This is one of 4 reindeer I am working on. I still need to sewn on buttons for her eyes and nose, and find some little shoes for her, then there are 3 more to go. This one is the mama one, I need to make clothes for the papa, and little boy and girl.
Cindy, do you know about what size they wear. It is so hard for me to stand on my feet to cut out the fabric?

Bows... I used to have to make them by the hundreds. I don't think I can teach via the internet, it's kind of a 'show you how' thing. However, if you can get wired ribbon (wire on the sides), even the simplest bow looks beautiful. And, you can keep them nicely year to year because you just take them out and re-bend the wire the way you want it.

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

LK, that is so cute! Can't wait to see the whole family! I author online real estate classes, and I'm behind deadline, so I'm writing like a maniac today. And other mundane things, like paying bills. I'll see if I can get husband to take pictures of me making a bow... it's not hard, just a step by step process.

( Kim) Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

LK, this is where I get the shoes for the boy. I usually buy the girls at the $ Tree if they have them. Actually this is where I buy all the things I need for them. I sometimes put a blinking nose in the boy.

Donna, can’t take credit for the door, I honestly couldn’t have told you what color my door was, we rent and I ignore the front yard since we’re in a HOA.

Jaye, I like simple/natural things a lot. They had some plastic plants to put on it and that just seemed wrong. If it was a dried wreath maybe, but not on one like this.

I do like dried wreaths, like the one you did, because they’re natural but you theoretically don’t have to make a new one each year.

I know this wasn’t directed at me, but…
Do you collect anything? Not specifically, but Protective entities (especially Greenmen/women, gargoyles, fu dogs, etc.), Fey creatures (fairies and the like, I love Brian Froud and Charles Vess type fairy creatures, I also like Jasmine Becket-Griffith style, I’m not really into the Tinkerbelle type), moons, marine animals, goats, dolphins, ladybugs, cats, Cthulus, and things that are slightly warped.

Are you allergic to anything? Not really, or at least not to anything one would send me.

Favorite Color/scent? Blue, I’ve become fairly fond of vanilla and coconut, berry, and herbals.

Favorite Music? All across the board, old country, blues/jazz (older stuff is better), punk, folk, Celtic, I have at least one song from every genera I can think of, but I’d have to say my favorite is Filk.

Favorite flower? Assuming as a design my favorite would be Iris, though I also like roses, water lilies, tulips, lilies, pansies, and apple blossom.

Pets? What breed? Cats. Black shorthair and lynx point Siamese.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Brenda that would be so good!!! Write like a maniac then so you can show us the proper way to do a bow. If Betty could walk everyone through making the Victorian Santas I know you can walk us through making bows. BTW is there any other way to go other than wired edge ribbon? LOL Best invention ever!!!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Cindy, love the jokes, especially the George Washington and Prayer before dinner ones.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

LK

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Back at work today and it has taken me this long to get on. What with clearing out the e-mails and other duties I haven't had time to play!
LK, your right I can't keep away from the sewing machine. I decided to make the stocking for the swap but haven't even cut it out yet and Friday is getting close. I'm in the middle of a T-shirt quilt and it looks like I will be making another for my DSIL. I keep saying I have three weeks off at Christmas, but that time is getting filled up fast with projects from my family.
Looks like I am going to have to get a back-up machine. Mine has been in the shop twice, now in less than a month! Nothing big but not having it for a while at this busy time of the year was the pits.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Can't wait to see your handmade stocking. I know when mine goes down, I have to take it to San Antonio. No one here repairs them anymore! We used to have this little old man that did the repairs, and very quickly, but he passed about 3 years ago, so now everyone has to travel for thier repairs.
LK

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, I finally got Don out the door for work. SHEESH... he drove me nuts this morning.
But, I did get him to help me move some furniture around this morning so I can set the tree up. He also fixed the lights on one of our outdoor decorations which spent the entire season last year with one strand of lights not burning. Alls good now.

Ya know... I'm up for the lesson too from Brenda should she talk her DH into taking those pictures. Deborah is also good at making bows, maybe they can collaborate.

I'm off to find my broom. Was looking for it before I sat down here, and just gave up. Now, when did I use that dang thing last? Hmmmm... I'm sure it was Don that didn't put it back in the laundry room... as usual.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yep, That's how men are. they never put things back where they belong. then when they want to use them they accuse us of not putting back, right? I'm always putting Rick's stuff back where it belongs. He is really bad about stuff like that. He can't even put a dirty paper plate in the garbage, he sits it on the counter right next to where the garbage can is UUUGGHHH........... He is always losing his reading glasses, instead of putting them on his end table by his chair, he just lays them whereever.
