Yes, Stacey, I did see the oil burner and loved it. You have really made an art out of those rub ons. Wish I had as good a luck. That one look big, too. Most I've seen have been smaller, but I like that size.
I did well at the craft show yesterday and got things for the fairy garden swap and two other swaps. Today I should be doing the wash, going to the store and working on a quilt but instead I am doing nothing! As Mom used to say, "My get up and go, got up and went". Have two pies to make and bake, too. Well, guess I better quick dragging my feet.
Later...

I've found a new craft. Or at least have the makings for one. Making stuffed animals from all the hair I've shampooed from the carpets. Ugh double ugh it's terrible!
Afternoon all...... what a wonderful morning...NOT.....
Really had no energy this morning...got ready for the bike ride, Bill took the dog out for a few to discover someone has gone through about half of the cars in the neighborhood. Everything that was in the seat pockets, center console and over the visors was all piled in the passenger seat............interesting thing is nothing appears to be missing??? CD's, Expensive sun glasses...all still there....
Got down town and started our bike ride when we had a flat tire that cut the tube and the tire casing......so we are back home......Darn, guess I will just have to finish my Santa and clean house...:)
Are you sure you didn't mess with that tire? LOL!
were your cars locked? Did they break any glass?
Glad to hear your OK!
LK
This is the time of year when people start all the stealing. Can't leave anything out or unlocked.
Especially with the bad economy like it is. Our town is not too bad, but San Antonio crimes are up a bunch.
BJ, how you doing today?
LK
Audrey, I was sending Mental Messages to it!!!
DH left the drivers door unlocked.......Nothing broke, nothing missing......we live down a long dead end street and have never had problems like that in this neighborhood since mom moved here 24 years ago.....getting to be new people with highschool age kids in the area now...so guess we need to start checking and locking things up...sad state of affairs...
Trisha, that it certainly no way to start a day! I tell you what you can get even with that tire, just work on your Santa!!! I really need to get going on mine but like Janice stated "my get up and go seems to have got up and gone". Still get really tired since the sinus thingee.
Humm Deborah, if you really don't mind I think I will leave that craft to you. I have kitty hair. Seriously I do know people who have used the lint from the dryer to stuff toys. Never tried it myself but am told it works.
Some posted earlier about sewing on suede--yes I have. I don't know if I know the answer but will try to help. I think it was Jax Donna but I am not positive.
BJ how are you doing this afternoon? I know this is starting to get "old" dealing with this. Oh for a doctor's appointment soon and some relief. Can't have you sick like this !!!
Catspower if you are reading, hurry and get well. We miss you!!
Phyllis is the move competed yet?
Okay Jaye, whatcha doing this afternoon. Resting I do hope.
Sorry to hear about all those cars in your area.. We lock everything up always.. Even though we dont have much I dont want anyone taking what we have..
Well back from all our running today.. Max got called in at noon so we had to run him downtown and get back beofre Tristens appointmnet for the doctor about her ear.. Got there and was Told Tristen wasnt on the Ins. policy and it would be 150.. uggghh So called ins. company and tehy are closed. Called the 24/7 nurse line on the back of the card and she told me to definately take her to the doctors so I hit the minute clinic at our local cvs. Still cost me 60 but not nearly as bad as it was. Turns out she has a inner ear infection and a raw throat.. So antibiotics and a warm bed for her and Max will have to talk to the office tomorrow about the insurance.
Marion it was me asking about the suede.. How hard do you think it would be to make a pair of knee high mocassins? I havent found instructions yet but have been wanting a pair for a few years since mine finally gave out...
Well now that is a good question Donna. Do you have a pattern to follow? Sewing suede is a little different in that you don't ever have to worry about the edges being finished. Things I have made have either been flat feld seams or stitching done on the top. I would think if you had a paper pattern of your foot outline you could go from there. Just the old addage of measure twice and cut once!!
Donna, I found this link for patterns http://www.missouritrading.com/patterns-footwear.htm
Good evening, all! Just found this site, so I guess I am party crashing....but wanted to say hey! Can someone offer an old lady a cuppa?
Never ask this group for help, you'll have enablers!!! Look at Cindy!!! Lol.. she's already finding patterns for you, Donna!!
I've been under the covers, since I got back from worship. Then my little pup curled right alongside me.. Kel cooked e-z 'coffee pot' soup.. he'd make Marion proud!!
And yes, I've seen fabric art, using dryer lint. You can keep the hair Deborah. Plenty here too.. but only in 2 colors.. black and white!
Yeah, crime is rampant here too. They'd siphon gas when you're asleep, and when salvage prices were high, they'd steal copper on airconditioning units.. But mostly to feed their drug habits. I don't go anywhere far without Kel.
Congrats on a new grampa Tina-Tia!! And the grandbabies.
Of course Deborah, we'll wait PATIENTLY for you to tell us Monday. No later than Monday afternoon, if not your phone will be ringing non stop :")
Jax, where had you been????? You haven't crashed.. you left us!!!!! So glad to see you.. here's your favorite cup of Bailey's !!
Well, since this morning's bout... the spasm didn't go away... continued to get worse. So about 10am I took 1/2 a PP and 2 ritz crackers... and went to bed... nothing...
Then took the other half at 1pm and and 4 crackers with skim milk... drifted off to sleep after a while.
It's let up some, and I'm letting some sherbet melt down my throat... but it's still a dull pain, and now I'm loopy from taking both halves.
I wonder if it was the spices in that tortilla soup broth that did it?
You've been sticking to a bland diet, BJ, until you hit that tortilla soup. That might be it.
That's kind of what I was thinking.
I'm supposed to avoid spicy foods, but Protonix makes it bearable.
So this evening.. 5 hours before bed, you'll be avoiding food? Dear God, I do hope you'd get some relief soon :(

BJ, don't starve yourself! Are you taking vitamins? Your not getting enough nutrition! I worry about you!
I've avoided food all day... the crackers were only to take the pills.
Keep those prayers coming... cause I really, really need some relief soon.
I know I'm not getting enough, Audrey... if I eat any more... I just toss it... and don't get the benefit from it anyway. I really really need this fixed soon... I lost another 2 lbs since yesterday morning.
Yah, no fun to go through the holidays avoiding great eats!
Audrey is right, you're also not getting enough nutritions.
Don't know nothing else to say, BJ. I've never been in your situation. All I can do is pray, pray, pray that He guides the doctors into healing you fast.
You can't be losing weight like that!!!! It's me that need to lose those pounds!
Me too Jaye, Man Bj, what the heck is wrong. I've always said the human body is a total mystery. How one thing can lead to another.
Here's hugs BJ ((((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))))))
Well, what little I did eat today, just came back up. I'm going back to bed.
Yes, please keep praying... I can't keep this up much longer.
BJ, call your dr. and tell him how much weight you're losing! This can kill you, and I don't want to lose a good friend! Wish there was something I could do. Have you tried beef broth? With or without crackers, it would give you some strength. Can you keep icecream down? My daddy used to beat up an egg in milk with sugar and maybe vanilla and drink it. That's strengthening, too.
BJ, please call your doc to speed them up. Sounds like a blockage to me if you are upchucking instead of the food being digested. Yes, do try some beef broth or chicken broth again. You don't want to get dehygrated and that sounds like that's what is happening. Put pressure on your finger nail to test for dehygration. I think they say if your nail bed is white you need fluids.
Isn't Pedialyte good for dehydration, to replace lost minerals?
No.. don't want BJ to be driving to the store for that if she's feeling 'loopy'.
Geez, LK or Phyllis, if only you are living within minutes of her.
You're right Jaye and it comes in fruit flavors. Gatoraide is good too. BJ you drinking fluids ok? Electrolytes need to be replaced along with other minerals that Pedialyte can replace. Is Don home?
Sorry I ran away for aminute Max got home and is now getting ready to head back in for the entire night.. The boss i trying to work it out so they still get the 40 hours next weeke even with them being shut down 3 days.. Love his boss but am hating him never being home right now. Tristen hasnt let go of him since he came home.. She misses her daddy ..
OO Cindy thank you for the pattern link.. This may be helpful..
Marion Up until now I had no idea about how to go about the project// I just know I loved having the moccasin boots and missed them dearly. I really do hate shoes..lol I dont have any real sewing experience but am willing to try once we get everything settled down on the homefront and thought maybe I should start looking ionto how to make them. I guess I know now the first thing is to buy a pattern.. But at least I know where to find it thanks to Siss Cindy...
BJ I would definately call your doctor. I also think the pedialite would be great for replacing those electrolights as well as gatoraide. Th edoctors have always told me to give them to the kids when they are not feling well or eating like they should. Maybe even an ensure or something like that if you find some that you like the taste of.. Please do take care of yourself..
Don's supposed to be setting up a game in Dallas, tonight.. and then to Charlotte tomorrow.
Hate to see a sistah suffering.
I had forgotten about Ensure, Donna. Glad you brought that up.
Max is so lucky to have a good boss that looks out for his people.
I wore mocassins in the 70's....LOVE 'EM..Bought me a pair last summer, and when I went to tie it the tie broke. They don't slide thru like they used to, the're sewed.
Only thing is I think they will have to be hand sewn, me no can do. If you are able to make some I will buy a pair from you. Not the boots but ankle hight ones I forgot what they are called , lol
Yeah He's very lucky its just alot of hours in a short preiod of time.. Im thinking there was another type of nutitional drink but I cant remember what it was... hmmmm
BJ you go driving when you are loopy and I wont let Cedric come stay with you when he gets to Texas...hehehehehe
I agree get some pedialite or something like it BUT call the DR. and let him know hat is going on
As for the move yeah I think other then her figuring out her knick knacks, finishing her closet and once BF gets his job down here and getting himself here everything is pretty close to done. hang curtains in kitchen tomorrow then pack her bag for the rest of week and get our stuff in car and head back to Tyler area.
Cindy mine were the ones that laced up teh sides and had teh soft sole on them. Unfortunately now that Im in Florida I can go to teh indian who made me the last pair 10 years ago.... So i figure time to learn..
They don't look to be too difficult. Are going to use real leather or suede?
Umm I dont know.. What should I use???
Well leather is heavier, but suede is cheaper to buy.
Hmm well then I would say the suede will be they way I more than likely go. Mine were suede I believe. Havent priced anything yet to have comparisons so I really wasnt sure.
