There really is a place called Nutbush! It has, or had, a cotton gin. and a store.

WOO HOO... Don just got up and gave me a b'day present !!!!
First, I have to tell you WHY he bought me what he did.
When I got the new sewing machine, I read, and the tech at the sewing machine store told me to keep the lint cleaned out from the bobbin area with a vacuum. DON'T blow down in there, cause it will just clog up something else somewhere deeper down, and could cause more problems.
So, I rigged up a straw at the end of the hose of my vacuum cleaner with duct tape... looks pretty sad, and Don teases me and laughs about it every time he sees it.
Well, he gave me a DATA VAC for my b'day !!!!! with little tiny hoses, and little tiny curved pieces to get down in those little tiny places... I can clean my keyboard with it, and any place that's little tiny and hard to reach. TOO COOL.
Yes it is tool cool What a great pressie! Now we all want one. LOL
Now how thoughtful is that!!!!!!
Way to go Don!! You have certainly earned yourself Most Thoughtful Hubby of Texas!!

He pays attention, like MY Sweetie does!!
Can't believe I'm still in my jammies!! Got to get moving..
Kel will return soon and we're off to my fav. quilting store!
This will be a productive day indeed!!
I just took Don out to show him Gorgeous George the Gator... HE LOVES HIM TOO.
AND today, I hope to assemble my new mini greenhouse. But I'm going to set it up on the sun porch for now. I can move it out on the deck later when it's time to plant the spring seeds. BUT first, I need to clean the sun porch, so I can clear a spot... ugh... running out of room here.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BJ!!!!! Here's a card chosen especially for you since you like boats. Be sure to click on 'A Brief History'. I thought it was very interesting and maybe you will too. http://www.jacquielawson.com/preview.asp?fldMessage=Sending%2520you%2520lots%2520of%2520good%2520wishes%2520and%2520warm%2520hugs%2520on%2520your%2520special%2520day.%2520Happy%2520Birthday%252C%2520Sistah%2520BJ%2521%250A%250ASistah%2520Debra&fldAge=+&fldHeaderNum=1&fldCard=3125693&cont=1
Love her song 'Nutbush City Limits'. I'll share my little secret ..... my dream has always been to come back in my next life as Tina Turner. (skip the early years with Ike) My fantasy is to sing and dance on stage as Tina. A bit of trivia .... she's known for her great legs, right? I'd never noticed until I read a magazine interview with Tina that she has NO neck and NO waistline. She dresses to create the illusion of a waistline and wears open neck clothing - never up around her chin - because she has such a short neck. She does a darn good job of hiding her figure flaws.
Phyllis, gosh I'm glad there wasn't a wreck and someone injured! But sorry you had to deal with a flat tire. That reminded me of the time my mother and brother were in her little Honda Civic and a large mattress flew off a truck in front of them. My DM was known for 'holding her ground' per se' - and, instead of going around it, gripped the steering wheel and attempted to drive over it. Nope - the mattress was too big and the car too small - they ended up stradling the mattress and couldn't get off! A tow truck had to pull them off. That was so typical of my mother's way of thinking that the funny story was told at her funeral.
Happy cleaning, Deborah. It's not much fun while doing it but don't you feel good after a big job like that?
Cindy, you cleaned houses for 36 years? Wow! You must know all the secrets. Maybe we should ask your advice on tips.
Tina, good luck at the auction today. That amazes me about the dogs and chickens. Our dogs would kill a chicken in a heartbeat - and one did. It was tramatic - I was so upset. Couldn't blame Sugar though. She had never been around chickens before and simply thought her job was to protect us from anything that didn't belong in her yard. The rooster made the mistake of flying over the fence into her territory.
It's cold here this weekend. Highs in the 40's. DH is going to try to find our back porch and lawn under the blanket of leaves. Sure wish we had a leaf shredder. Would be great in my compost bin. Maybe the mower can shred some .... hmmmmm ....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNTIE BIGGLES & JIGGLES!!!! Your last pressie is coming USPS, so it may be there today:)
Debra-that is quite interesting that that is who you want to be when you come back....and of course-gotta skip the Ike years!!
I am such a dummy-I got off here, turned on the oven to have some french bread pizzas and come downstairs to watch the boob tube while waiting for the oven to warm and I fell asleep!!! This was at like 8pm-DH came home at 1:30, noticed the oven was on and the pizzas (totally thawed by now) were out, threw em in, and after they were done, woke me up to eat and "yell" at me for falling asleep with the oven on!!! It is gas, and I can just imagine waht that will do to our bill if I do that a few more times!!
What a cool present BJ!!! I have to literally print things off the puter and make a detailed list for my DH:( Oh well.....
Donna-LOVE the wreath and the B-room!!!
New Donna-I HATE AT&T and that is why we don't have service through them anymore-when we moved here, apparantly I still owed them $1.77 and they sent me to collections after sending me 1 bill and giving me like a week to pay them!!!!
I slept late today-I feel asleep early, then was up with DH til about 4, then he woke me up for a bit when he came to bed, so I didn't get back to sleep til after 6, so I slept in til about 10:)
Tina-good for you about setting boundaries with your daughter!!! And that story was hilarious!!!
Niece!!!! Forget the bill!! What if the oven weren't lit????????
Thank God, you're okay!
The pilot light on my old stove had went out. My ex late mum was living with us. She had one day turned it on.. she had alzheimer's. Ex was then sleeping on the couch. Thank God I came home just in time to smell gas..
Please.... when you get that tired, get a microwavable supper!!! We could have lost you!!!!!
TO ease your mind I heard it light after I turned it on-it is kinda loud....and yes I will be more careful (beating myself with a snowy wet tulip)
Ok, I'm calm now..
don't mean to ignore you Debra. Your mother must have had made some lasting impressions to those around her, with her antics...or is it determination? I'm sure the tow truck driver would be talking about that too!!
Well I'm not sorry for fussing at you Niece!!!
It's a good thing yours make a loud noise...
LOL-sometimes the oven scares the bejesus outta me-I grew up withy electric so that lound BOOOM scares me...
TRISHA-forgto to say for the santa-a fishin hat too;)
That was a beautiful card, Debra... and yes... a very interesting history. THANK YOU SISTAH...
THANK YOU too, Fairy Fingers... you're so special to me.
BTW... Deborah called me and sang to me... LOL... how cool is that?
Sheesh, Stacey... bet you don't do that again... for sure....
MIL just called to wish me HB... she didn't know the health probs I was having, so we had a good talk... but I told her... pain free is a BD present all in itself... I'm having a great day... now, she's feeling bad that I have been feeling bad, and I'm sorry I told her about it.
I'm glad you told her BJ. She may have felt worse whenever she did find out later that you haven't shared your illness with her sooner. Plus more prayers from the people who love you for you to get better.
Keep and eye on that mailbox;) And I agree w/ Deb-if she hadn't found out til later on she woulda felt worse....
I'm having MAJOR computer problems! It doesn't want to go at all! I have a call in, but it's probably Sat. in India, too!
I'm leaving on Wed. after I get out of the cardiologist's office to go to my girls' for Thanksgiving, so if you don't hear from me for a few days, I'm probably OK! I'll try to let you know what the DR. says after I get up there!
I guess you're right. Don also asked me to put fresh batteries in the scale today... he wants me to weigh myself every morning. Said he laid his hand on my knee last night when he came home (he usually is touching me when he falls asleep)... and said my knees were feeling a bit boney.
I think it's his way of telling me he's worried about me.
HAPPY BRTHDAY CUZ!
I might go to jail. i just caught a dog trying to get in the chicken pen, and shot at him. sorry, but i missed.
I will sneak in here quietly as I am just now getting up. Maybe I can get some leftover coffee somewhere? Must have been really tired as I have never slept this late. Yikes!!
A very special birthday for you BJ. Just think on this day XXX years ago the world was graced with your presence and later you grew up to become our Sistah!! That is a wonderful gift to us, dear lady!!! It might be your birthday but we received the gift.
Jaye, wait for me. I want to go to your quilt shop. Grabbing my coat as I type. Oh how I wish I really could.
Debra, what a funny story about your Mom. I would say you inherited some of her!! LOL Determination is good. When hubby finishes blowing the leaves maybe he will come help me locate my yard! Geez, if it isn't limbs it is leaves.
TINK!!!!!! I don't believe you did that. Don't ever, ever do that again or we will be there to discipline you. We need you and all in one piece at that, living breathing and keep us laughing. That really scares me--why I hate gas.
Phyllis, I do remember you telling us about helping your daughter move. Brain cells must be sluggish with this cooler weather. Will not admit it is age. Nope, never not here.
Hope it all goes well, your daughter is settled and you will join us again quickly.
Linda Kay, how are you doing this morning? Foot doing okay--take care now, you have to far to mess up at this point.
Deborah, oh my, cleaning house. What is that? Explain! LOL, I really need to do that and do plan to turn the family room upside down today. Hoping to shake out all the mess and reorganize it. Never know what I might come across.
Both Donnas, take care, Donna 1 sorry you are sick. Love the wreath you received. Lucky lady. Donna 2 good luck today. Stay warm and who know what you will be telling us at the end of today. Never worry about complaining here--that is what we are here for--to support each other.
Morning Audrey, good cinnamon rolls--well the crumbs were good. Guess that is what I get for sleeping late today.
Waving to Janice, Judy (when she checks in), and everyone else. Need to go start on my work. Later.
Good luck with the doctor Audrey.
Kathy, we will come join you. Save our chickens at all cost!!!!! What is they say about a good friend? If you get put in jail, a good friend won't come bail you out but will there with you saying : Wow that was fun! Some thing like that.
Well, while you're joining her in the jail cell... I'll be collecting money from all the sistahs that love you both to raise bail money...
YOU GO GIRL... you've lost enough chickens... we'll bail you out.
Marion... that's such a sweet thing to say to me. I need you all to write to my sons and tell them all the nice things you're saying about me. I think they've missed something along the way.
Kathy, I don't know the laws in your state, but here we can shoot them if they are on our property. Dogs killed my mom's chicken 3 different times 3 differnt dogs.
the sherrif was here, and i told him, yes i was shooting a gun. he told me to use he 410, and be careful when i shoot. he said i have every right to kill a dog trying to harm me or my animals. so, no jail today
I say shoot at him again.
Donna glad you finally got to sleep…..enjoy your day today!
Afternoon Jaye, Audrey, Tia, Cindy!
Tia, Sage wants chickens to take to Grandma Jackies!! Don’t know how Grandma Jackie would feel about that?
Ohhhh I can smell the candles now!!!
Phyllis too much excitement there! I had a truck in front of me loose a big steel bar in the same manner, I was driving a little MG Midget convertible at the time!!! Fast acting little car with or I would have hit the thing. The previous owner had lowered the car 3 inches so there was NO ground clearance. Very Scary thing to happen isn’t it? Glad you are both okay.
((((((((((HUGS)))))))) BJ……glad you are feeling better today…..and saying a prayer that it stays that way so you can enjoy your day!!!
Janice, sorry to hear about your problems also.
LK how are you doing today……
Donna 1, hope you are feeling better….
Sage loves the butterfly tree and is in drawing butterflies so she can have one too!
Deborah I have some ratty old carpet here too (only around 15 years) a very light Beige color….what a stupid color to put in a rental….especially since I have a black dog and black cat that each shed an entire animal every day!! Add in rain most of the winter…..can’t keep it clean no matter how hard I try!
I’m with you Audrey, I make lists, but then I forget where I put the list, or forget to take it to the store with me…..Sorry about your computer, hope you get it sorted out soon……..
Sage loves everyone’s cards!
STACEY, YOU BE CAREFUL!!
BJ tell Don we are all worrying right along with him!
And Stacey is right, keep an eye on the mail box...^_^
Smart Sheriff Kathy, but we WOULD have bailed ya out if need be!!!
The dog is telling me I’ve been on long enough and she needs me to take a break…back later
I'm sooooo depressed over this pc! Every time I get it going for a while, out it goes again! Good thing I don't have anything important to do! I'm just lost without it! I have plenty to do, I just don't want to do it! Oh, well, guess I'll watch for the mail, but all he ever leaves me are bills, bills, and more bills!
Shoot straight, Kathy!!
I just got the nicest birthday present from Melissa! A frog potwaterer, moistureizer cream, a pretty card, a shopping list pad, a pak of three notepads shaped like flowers, a pen to match, and a tiny clear green, with a white tummy, frog that can be put on a charm bracelet! I really didn't think I would get anything for my birthday, my family is to far away, and money is a problem right now. It made my day! Thanks again, Melissa!!
I forgot there were two paks of seeds, too! Virginia stock, and 4 O'clocks!
Hey Hey,,, guess who came to see me? You could have blown me away with a feather... my first born son... and he brought me flowers for my birthday.
AND while he was here, the mail man came....
Guess what he brought me !!!!!
I GOT A BOTTLE CUTTER !!!!
Now, I can finally cut the necks off of all these bottles I've been saving.
THANK YOU, AGAIN.... MY SISTAHS. You've gone way overboard for my birthday... I'm so thrilled that you all love me so much... but really... it can stop now... you got your point across... ok?
YEAH-the last one got there!!!!!
We all love you VERY MUCH:)
I'm so glad you do... and I sure don't need gifts to feel all the love in this group. You're all such bright lights in my life anyway.
And now, I've eaten my soup... and had my shower... so, I need to go get all dressed up to go see my g'daughter's play. I still don't know what play it is, nor what part she's playing... doesn't matter... she asked me to come. I'll be there.
Spoken like a true Grandma!!
Tinky that is really cute. Do you put a votive inside?
BJ, you let us all know it so nicely!
Yes I did-I put a cranberry&apple tart in ti and have it burning-smeel like the holidays:)
Have a good time BJ ^_^ You'll be making memories for your grandaughter.
Well Marion, I'm glad you overslept! If you were to tag along, it would have been a disappointing day for you. There wasn't much of a sale, and for what I need, I'm better off getting them online. Moreover, they had marked a dollar more on all their bolts.. averaging $11.99 per yard now. No longer my favorite quilt store!
Waving at Sage! Granma Trisha's hand made cards are very pretty too. If I had enough storage space and more money, I might take up card making.
Audrey, I know it's hard for you to show what Melissa has got you, but whenever your pc is back to normal, can you do so.
Sis, do what it takes to protect your brood. Hope it will get scared enough not to return.
Sistahs, I got a dmail from Cathy (Catspower). Her husband and her are both very ill. A serious one for her... hope she can come forward and state it herself in the room. But I'm sure she'll appreciate prayers.
Right now, LSU is doing ZILCH against Miss. in the Magnolia Bowl!!!
They don't need prayers.. they need to be exorcised!!!
