I got a plain brown to do his vest and some gold trim......I'm going to try and get it cut out before Sage gets here!!!!!
Her maternal grandfather is a commercial fisherman.....will have to see what I can come up with and make them a Fishing Santa for her to give them for Christmas.....any ideas?

Oh that would be to cool. I have no idea's. I can not wait to see your western santa.
Okay well I cant sleep... Darn it but At least I can try to catch up a bit.. Made myself a mudslide and am browsing posts.
I love the idea of a Western Santa.. Is he going to be rustic looking or more victorian?
Hmm fishing santa would be very neat. Maybe a basket for holding his catch and tiy bobbers...I have so many ideas.. Maybe a fishing camo material...
I like..............watching LMN and chatting here. I am not EVEN ready for bed and I am usually in bed 2 hours ago.
and I have beans and cornbread waiting on me to eat.
Hmmmmmm comfort food sounds great
Happy Birthday BJ I hope you get to feeling better really soon.
I love the pictures of your gifts are so cute.. I mosly love the card! Fairy farts! I LOVE IT..
It also sounds like you all are going to have a great time when you egt that drink cabinet opened up..
Donna Im sorry to hear that you have been feeling bad and truly hope you get to feeling better soon.
Joyce hope all is getter better on your end...
Jaye that recipie for the Kalua Cake sounds soooo YUMMMMMYYYYY....
OOHHHHH Tia, I Love Beans and Cornbread!!!!! My DH was born in Seattle.....he will eat beans and CB, if I force him too!! And only if he is allowed to drown the bread in syrup.....
Donna, how are things going.....ya holdin' up okay? Anytime you girls can't sleep and want someone to talk to I'm almost always here until at least 11:30 PST.....3 hour difference for you and 2 hour difference for Tia!! And not many of the west coast DGer's are on that late so it get's a little lonely when I don't have a project to work on.....so pop in any time...
I'm doing the Santa in the Western fabric, but pretty much as a Victorian Santa.....debating on a cowboy hat!?!?!?
So Donna... what football game tomorrow are you talking about? Since Tigers did so badly, I had promised Sis Kathy to show some support for her team.. the urrrgghhhh.... Alabama..
I love that tooled leather looking fabric, Trisha. Western Santa eh? Then fringes is a must have.. but a fishing Santa.. giant nets as his sack, and maybe a heron or seagull on his shoulder?
Tina-Tia.. if you don't eat that beans and cornbread, I will!!!..... In my culture, beans are normally used for desserts... so they are practically fart free.. the sugars cure them!! Lol!!!
Well ladies, I'm off to bed, just can't keep these eyes open.
Good night my sistahs. Tomorrow will be a better day!
Tia, if I was closer I would be asking for a bowl of beans with cornbread. That sounds so good. Hummm maybe this weekend as it will be cool here!!
Trisha, I love both pieces of fabric you have posted but the leather is super!! Your fisherman needs a rain slicker maybe with floppy brim hat. Just a thought. Geez I am not usually up this late but having trouble turning off the thinking cap tonight.
Donna in Jax, how are your projects coming you were going to sell? Any more windows to be painted? What a talent indeed. I never cease to be amazed and the diversity of talent on this thread but one main thing in common--love of the garden.
Incidentally the kahula cake is well worth making--it is really good. I do make it a lots-especially for company or potlucks. You should try it for sure.
Well I guess I am going to see if I can relax as tomorrow will be a busy day here. We are going to clean our family room--eveything from top to bottom. I am almost afraid of what we will find when we start.
Nite all.
Good night Jaye, Good night Marion.....sleep well.......
Sorry I dissapeared for a bit Max called on his break from work and we chated for a bit about a few things.
As for work today was a wash. I wentto do the window I had scheduled and they told me they would call me back to re-schedule it being done. My sister doesnt really pay anything for hers and the other two businesses cant afford anything right now (one is actually closing up and a new owner is comming in).
Most of the places I talked to were not doing it this year but I figure i will keep trying. I even offered teh pawn shop a trade instead of cash if he wanted it done. Figure maybe a christmas present for Max since hes not expecting to get anything.. Heck I will work for gift certuificates if need be, I guess most of them are waiting until after thanksgiving.
The tree lots are not out yet so Im at a standstill on those until they get rolling. My booty bags are okay I sold 2 and have an order for a 3rd so thats comming along but it basically has paid for a few groceries that we needed.
My cell phone broke today too and that made me crazy.. This was while we were stuck downtown waiting for Maxs check and ended up being late to pick up Tristen from school. Of course they didnt mind she helped in the office and we were only a few minutes late.. Then ...lol ATT shut my phone off... Ugghh Called in a payment and told them I wanted my phone fixed but they say I have to wait 6 days to get a upgrade for free... The bill was 3 days late .. Made me so mad.... I could understand if it was a double bill but it wasnt!
Okay well my bloodpressure went up I better stop now...lol Sorry for venting..
Jaye I will be watching the Ohio State & Michigan game.. Its our last game of the season and our biggest rivalry...
Go Buckeyes!
Well Im headed to bed for the night.. Take care..
Donna don't apologize for venting, it is good for you and we are good bunch for listening....so you come here and unload any time you feel the need to let off some steam! As Lord Bacon once said "No man imparteth his joy to his friends, but he joyeth the more; and no man imparteth his grief to his friend, but he grieveth the less". This is very true and You are in all of our prayers....
Good night Donna, sleep well and remember "Tomorrow is another day my friend".....and better days will come.
Awww how sweet!!! Happy Birthday BJ ^_^
So early this morning I decide to start working on my alpine Butterfly Tree, mind you I'm still adding to this little tree. Using butterfly pins as ornaments and I did make a few out of copper wire to. Now I need to make a ornaments with all my peafowl feathers! just gotta figure out how I wanna make the body.
Good morning. Goodness I slept so good, been a long time since I had. Boy them beans and that corn bread was to die for. Will be lunch today. Ball game I will be listening to on the radio will be Texas Tech at Oklahoma.
So true describing BJ, Trisha. She's like a living beacon to us here!
