Good morning Sistahs!!
Slept well last night...must be the Amaretto in my tea!
So sorry BJ, you're going through this. Hope it's only for a short period and the rest of today, pain free----ommmm----
Morning Sis. How are you today. Got your dmail, and it's just too bad she lives so far away.
Thanks for breakfast, Sis and Stacey. Just coffee this morning, I'm having Special K for breakfast. Instead of losing, I'm gaining :*( Must be fluids.
Stacey hun, I'm glad you went above her!! Enough is enough, and your headaches will soon be gone!
Debra, you must make an effort to show up in May. With what's going on around here, I'm doing my darndest BEST to be there. Will even sacrifice Houston if I had to!!!
Marion dahlin...we'll get our natural highs watching our sistahs change their personalities once they empty BJ's liquor stash!!!! Thanks for the heads up on the Kahlua cake.
Morning Cindy.. I'll order my candles next year, they make perfect birthday gifts.
I know I went overboard posting recipes.. sorry sistahs.
But the service is free:D Then who knows some of us might ACTUALLY try them and that will enhance our culinary repertoire!!! Especially the desserts.. Now, the praline recipe is GOOOD... sometimes I add pieces of butterscotch :D

BJ, I am so sorry you are having a bad morning. Do we all need to show up and go to the doctor with you so they get serious about you getting an appointment? Just let us know--we'll be there.
Kathy, so good to see you --I want some apple butter for my toast please. Hold my toast out so just smear some on it. Need coffee, too. Oh Tink has the coffee. How are things going with your daughter? Please remember to take care of Kathy during this time. She needs you and so do we!!!!!!!
Debra, don't fret about the machine. It happens--it might be something as simple as a thread caught that cause it to "jam". Has happened to me so I really relate to your anxiety!! Just human nature--I think. Been missing you but oh what a busy schedule you have had lately. Debra, you had better be making plans to join us!!!!
Hi Judy, glad you found us. Do you have snow? Post a picture please.
Tink, you did the right thing!! It sounds like they are onto her and things will work out. Just isn't much comfort to you right now , is it? Hopefully you might end up getting your time off after all. Better be using a huge jar for pennies--Disney and BJs!!! Or for now do we put Disney on hold?? Will be here and offer will be good anytime.
Ah Jaye, yes you and I can sit back and just watch the action unfold!! Well, that is if there is no Kuhlua Cake!! Be around if it has been in a tupperware type container--especially when you first take the lid off--oh my!!!! Humm should make sure batteries are well charged for this event, do we need a video camera also?
Understand about the beer for Don BJ. Was hubby's favorite--when he drank.
Good for you, Stacey... Sounds to me like she's trying to get fired too. If it means a pay raise, you up for her job?
Audrey, I haven't had a gall bladder in 30+ years.
Dr's office just called wanting me to go for a cat scan of my abdomen before the neurology dept in Dallas will set the appointment. So, guess I'll be doing that early next week. I thought they already did that... but, guess that one got by them.
That is good news BJ. Atleast something is starting to happen--meaning in a good way. Hope this attack passes soon.
I don't want the job-it would only be about $2000-4000 more a year for 5X the headache and workload-well, not HER workload, but a real mgrs. work load
Understandable, Fairy Brain.
Well, Drs office called back, and they want the cat scan NOW... nurse said don't even take a shower... just go. So, I'm off. BBL.
Good luck, BJ! Somewhere I heard that you can still get gallstones after they take your gallbladder. Wonder where they go?
Auntie M, I will try, but not sure if I can afford 2 plane tickets in one year....
Good morning,
LOL, Trish, was saying goodnight and good morning since i posted very late, most would not be reading till AM...LOL, but i see you were up later than I.
Waving hello Marion, so glad to see you are feeling better.
BJ, Hope the scan will give some insight better and treatment found. Big hugs to you sweetie.
Linda Kay, godd vibes being sent for your foot surgery today.
Awww Stacey, such a bummer to deal with that. I hope your day is less aggetating today...Good you had a long talk with the higher up. Sometimes having a good "B" session is good.
Well, today is semi quiet...back to boring old cards, but something to do to pass the time quickly!
Enjoy your days...
OH/No snow Marion just cold today, but the sunshine feels good.
I know it was some time ago, but someone wanted a recipe for Lemon Bars. Promised and now delivered.
LEMON BARS
Crust:
2 C Sifted flour
1C Sifted Confectioners Sugar
1C Margarine
4 Eggs
Filling:
2C. Granulated Sugar
1/3 C Lemon Juice
1/4 C. Flour
1/2 t Baking Powder
Sift flour and confectioners sugar together. Cut in margarine till mixture clings together. Press in 9 x 13 baking dish. (Use 9x9 for 1/2 recipe). Bake in 300 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
Beat together egs, granulated sugar and lemon juice. Sift together 1/4 C flour and baking powder. Stir into egg mixture. Pour this mixture onto baked crust. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Cool. Cut in bars.
This is one of my favorites and on my list each year.
Funny, every year my Mom and Grandma used to make cookies. Loved the tradition and wanted to carry it through but my DD lives far away, and the DIL's weren't interested. Put together a notebook of all Mom and Granma's recipes but no one used them until now. When Stacey became my DIL I found out she made cookies every year for family & friends, too. So now she and I and one of my other DIL started baking the past two years.
Wish I had some girl grandchildren so we could keep this things going but sharing the recipes with you sistahs keeps those recipes alive.
Wahoo BJ! Run don't walk to that doctor. Here running with you.
Tink we will have to decide either Disney or BJ and since BJ will have all the sistahs maybe we should work for that one right now. We can always go to Disney--BJ not host us again after we all get together. She might decided we are trouble especially if you corrupt Uncle Don!! LOL
I will take that as a further hint Mom about the grand daughter...
Marion-sounds like a plan-maybe if DH ever starts bonusing, he will treat me to Disney;)
Just did a quick scan as MIL is due here any second so will try to catch up later........
Hoorray Stacey....you go girl!!!!!!!....sounds hers is coming.....
Big prayers your way BJ and lots of (((((hugs))))) sure hope they sort this out quickly!!! Or Yes, they will have a pack of Sistahs marchin' in with you to supervise their care!!!
LK thinking of you too my dear...we will talk to you later, hope all is going well!!
OOps...she is here...see ya later!
Did you guys see this neat article today??
http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/1900/
We'll be waiting on pins and needles for BJ to return.
Janice, thanks for the recipe. My mother was a great baker, fortunately, she left that legacy behind to her other 5 daughters. If I have kids, that's what I'll be doing too, carrying the tradition. I'll try to get her famous pineapple tarts recipe..
Now, my two brothers inherit her talent in cooking very complex curries served only for special occassions.
Disney sounds like a good idea!
Pins and needles here also. Also waiting on Joyce to check in--she is going for a CT scan also.
Hear our prayers, Father God, above
Your healing touch for these sistahs, we so love
May they be well of any illness found
And thereafter only to joy they be bound.
Audrey, BJ, Joyce, LK, Ann Marie and Bonnie.
A special intercession plea for Tina-Tia's daughter too.

Amen.
TY Jaye!
Hi Judy! How's that Christmas village coming along.. or has it become a Christmas Nation??
Audrey, hope your sinus infection has cleared up. I'm still suffering with mine. Good thing about it, is I can't smell Kel's frequent gas expels!!
Something Deborah sent.. a good message in it...
Clean Wash
A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young womanSees her neighbor hanging the wash outside.
"That laundry is not very clean," she said. "She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap." Her husband looked on, but remained silent.
Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.
About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a niceclean wash on the line and said to her husband: "Look, she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this?"
The husband said, "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows."
And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look.
I got that email too. LOL
How very true!!! Glad you posted that.
Hey Cindy, believe or not I am actually gathering things and looking for a box the proper size to send you some goodies!!! Finally getting my "act" somewhat together. Key word: somewhat!!!
Hi Jaye!
LOL, i have been somewhat nuerotic on my winter scene. Last night finally took a break and made a decision NO more!! All that is left are the snowpeoples faces. And, woohoo, got a brainstorm for it so hoping to finish this weekend...
Only bummer is no pics till Sunday night, DH going to cottege to work on kitchen!!
Floors are in. Can't wait to see them Next week. Anyay, will do several photo shoots...Gosh i am a bit insane arn't I? lol, don;t answer that...heheh.
Well I hope your sinus infection goes away. Sending hugs to you too!
Then this weekend i am also making another Santa as a gift to some friends of ours. Can't wait for her to get it, woohoo, I just know she will want to make some too!
Hehehe, Santa was a breeze, it's been all the other tiny pieces, but i do like them.
Big smiles, Thanks for asking!
Clean windows! Great, almost want to post that somewhere else, but i won't.
ROFLOL Oh Judy, that crossed you mind too? Shame on us!!
Better send more pictures of the cottage while you are at it.
Jaye thanks, how did you know I am at wits end with her. I am so tired of her and her selfishness. I can not do it anymore. There is no more of me left.
Good Afternoon Sistahs,
hope all is well with everyone. Joyce & BJ your in my thoughts & prayers.
It's kinda hard to keep up with everyone's doin's if you do not read the thread at least twice a day. I must try to do better in keeping up with you gals!
I've been sick with a stomach virus since Monday night and still haven't over it. DH has been a wonderful nurse, getting me all the meds I need with plenty of gatorade & chicken soup. I've been in the bed 24/7 this hold week. Guess I couldn't of pick a better week to be sick due to the COLD weather we're having. I'm going back to bed now still a little weak. :(
Tia, just never, never forget we are here--wish it were closer to support you better but for now am sending huge hugs and prayers. As much as we love our children, we can't lose site that we count also. So please take care of yourself and Punk Boy!!! Those things matter dearly to us!!!!!
Donna, do take care. This stuff can be wicked!! Send more chicken soup via cyperspace. Enjoy.
Well, I'm home, finally. Like most doctor/hospital visits, it's hurry up and wait. BUT... the CAT is done, and now just waiting to hear from the DR's office for the results. Not that I'm expecting him to tell me anything earth shattering... because if he's right about what's wrong... it's not going to show up on a CAT scan. This was just a formality to satisfy the neurology dept in Dallas that we've done all we can here locally to rule out any other causes.
So, then I decided to stop at the grocery store to get some more fresh veggies to use in my new juicer. While I'm in the gro store, LK called to tell me she's home, surgery went well, and she was about to take a pain pill and go to bed. Said she'd come online tomorrow to chat with us.
Audrey, that was probably me that told you that. They told me at the hospital last time that you can develop gall stones in some tubes (somewhere around where the gall bladder used to be), and can be very painful. They check for those... I don't have any.
I don't know where they go... hmmmm... guess they have to be surgically removed too... but I really don't know.
Ooh Donna, glad to see you today, but not with those conditions. Yep, Gatorade or Pedialyte to replenish lost minerals, and great big thumbs up to Mr. Donna for nursing you. I bet, if not for this virus spell, you'll be after that greenhouses project of yours!
Judy, stay warm in your cabin! We'll wait patiently for those pics! Yohoo.. you hear.. pictures.. like in plural?
Tina-Tia, it's exasperating. Kel has a cousin whose parents kept bailing him out..not practising tough love. He's a father of 3 beautiful children by different mothers, and the financial responsibilities are taken up by his parents and sister. Did he get wiser after almost killing a man while under the influence...no...jail and drugs are second nature to him. You would think being 36 and a father would make him want to change.. But as long as he got his life line...he'll never ever make that commitment to change. I think his parents and sister are the ones that need counselling.
Hang in there Tina. Like Marion says, we're here. Count on us for support. You got my number, call anytime.. I'll listen.
Happy to know all's well with LK.
Sistah BJ, don't let the 'riddle' mess up your birthday now.
How are you feeling?? Any new packages??
Yep... just looked on the porch... and it is a heavy box... but I haven't opened it yet... will do that and be right back.
tee hee hee
OH boy!! BJ has more pressies to share with us!!!!
Hello everyone. I am back home, and just popping in for a few minutes to say hello. Thanks to everyone for the get well wishes!
Bj, hope you get some relief real soon from the doc. It is not fun getting those pains, and getting sick everynight!
Love to each and everyone of ya. Wish I could reach out and give you all a big hug.
Linda Kay
Now lets saee the picture BJ!!!
Well, right off the bat... I don't know who this "Backyard Bonanza" outfit is... but I have to tell you, they really know how to do it up big for a b'day present. First thing I come to when I open the box is an envelope with sparkly "happy birthday" stickers all over it, and inside the envelope was a lovely b'day card that says ALL my sistahs and neices love me. I really had to soak that in for a bit, and savor the moment. Once the lump in my throat went away a bit, I dried my eyes... and then I saw some beads sticking out of the shredded newpaper... I gave the beads a little tug, and there was a little doll made of beads w/a thread spool body, all dressed in red poinsetta fabric. A card was attached to her arm that said it was from the people at Backyard Bonanza... a b'day gift from them to me. Now, wasn't that sweet?
Here's the pic of the doll....
But, don't go away... that's not all.
I know-I am so waiting on her to go relax and watch the boob tube!!LOL
Glad to see your home LK:)
