If I thought I could get away with it Carol, I'd be doing the same...
Before putting things out I thought I ought to at least dust this basement...so comfy don't know why I don't use it much...must do in the new year...

Painting girls are trying to talk me into doing the big 5' santa this year...must have a good look and see if we've time...

Not sure about this trio...do people decorate this primitive Charlie Brown trees?

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Glenview, IL

Sure!! Why Not?

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Some decorate them, my mom places hers just outside her entry door and strings them with white lights and adds a few birds here and there. Simple but very pretty.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Your mom's tree with the birds and white lights sounds nice, Trisha. I love a woodsy look to a Christmas tree with birds, bird nests and pine cones decorating outside trees.

Judy, my bedroom shoes are in the washer with hot water. Hope they shrink a bit. When we spoke on the phone and as I hung up to go to the washer I stepped up from my sunken den, and yep, you guess it, I tripped from the shoe sliding off my foot. If the hot water and dryer doesn't shrink them then its to the sewing machine I go.

Betty, it won't be long before I get to hold a wee grandbaby of my own. April is the due date. I can't wait!

Glenview, IL

Well,
Debohrah...I am so glad you didn't get hurt! I do hope that washing and drying shrinks...

I am sorry to say, I just talked to sister!! Made me happy yet I am so very sad tonight.
Things are slow, They released her which I am not so sure is a good thing...
Thank you Betty, I did, have a lovely day...'cept my Santa is actually skinny, gotta laugh there...
And i so enjoyed talking with you Debra and to Liz earlier...Thank you Both
I'm actually kind of afraid...Can't think at the moment , so I am going to just say good night.

GG..Your quilt is splendid as is the photo's of the pups...

Hugs to all...

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, around here they decorate the primative trees with white lights and old fashioned ornaments, perhaps tin ones, or little cookie cutters. My daughter has 3 of them in her house, each different decorations.

You are doing such beautiful work. I am still here, reading daily.....hard to keep up with all of you! LOL

Have a great weekend,
Debbie

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I’m just skimming, so sorry if I missed anything.

Betty, trust me, I’d be surprised if 1 in a 100 people knew what filk was, and that many only because of the movie Trekkies.

I don’t even get my Christmas wish list done until around Thanksgiving. My side of the family gets together for both. We try to go up to DH’s mothers around X-mas, but we’ve managed one out of three years, I have hope for this year. I love my in laws; I just wish they didn’t live 3? hours away, that our car was reliable and we had more time and money; without those things it’s hard for us to see each other often.

And Bev, I know about dates and depression. I have a downright phobia of Nov. and May. Just about everything bad that’s happened to me has happened in those two months. It was a massive leap of faith, and maybe a foot hold into maybe putting my demons to rest, that I started dating my DH in Nov. This month is being pretty hard, I realized about 2 am on the 1st that it was “that month” again and had a minor nervous breakdown. But, I’m trying to keep rational and not let the month scare or depress me too much, but it’s only partially working. Its best when I don’t consciously realize what month it is till it’s almost gone, kind of like “so it is a good thing that we keep extremely busy isn't it...”

While I have my issues, I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose a partner and I know it. I know it never really helps, but try to remember the good times; if you have any better ways of dealing with it let me know *hugs*.

Starzz, it might be worth checking out even if it’s not quite your thing. Filk is a very interesting genre.

The_Wonder_Downunder, you’re the other Laura right? I was diagnosed with Bi-polar probably 7 years ago, and I’ve tried a bunch of meds. I’m not sure it would work for you, because everyone reacts to meds differently, but I’d strongly suggest trying Lamictal (Lamotrigine). Lamictal is by far the best med I’ve ever been on. I thought I’d been on meds that worked before, but as far as truly feeling “normal” this is an entirely new level. It’s not a happy pill or a zombie maker, you will still feel stress, depression, happiness, etc… but it will be in manageable levels, not the overwhelming Tsunamis that Bi-polar can throw at you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good morning everyone... light rain falling, but that's ok..usually when I start my xmas workshops it's snowing..so I'm one up on that...

As for the trees girls, thank you...woodsie will be it's theme as the basement here would lend to it being so...that is once the other 2 large trees are decorated..

Judy I'm sorry to hear that your sister has been released...when someone has such issues such as she I think that a little more time in the hospital with constant care and support..not near long enough..will someone be with her or does she live on her own?
Sounds as though you were all chatty tonight..how wonderful...
Deborah, sounds as though you've a shoe issue...can be dangerous on stairs and uneven flooring..glad you didn't injure yourself..a new baby, how wonderful..it will be your first correct? Be cautious about sewing them on your machine...might be a little thick..wouldn't want to bend the shaft..ask me, done that before...lol

Carol, how are Art and Heather doing now that the funeral is behind them? Please give them my condolences...nearing time in a few weeks for the big Markham Craft and Decorating show...I'm going on the Sat. this year...interested in joining me there? We could do christma lunch...

Debbie, cookie cutters on a tree, now doesn't that sound adorable...no need to catch up, just scan the last few posts, most likely you'll be on the same page of our comings/goings..lol How are you doing, keeping busy...the daughter with the trees is she the daughter that has the old home that you've been working so hard in painting/wallpapering? I lived when I moved from the waterfront on farmland...the house was ancient...decks all around, 2 floors...I had never felt so at home...truly believe in another lifetime I was a country girl...just love everything country...pretty much the look of my house now decoration wise..maybe that's why I'm so content in just staying in when I'm home....a sense of peace...

Laura, you must have to power shop then...do you have a lot to buy for? It truly is amazing to me to realize that it's not just a few who suffer from depression! Chemical imbalance.. and you are right, it's easy to say keep busy, it's in the past or fight the knowledge that you (meaning anyone) it troubled by depression and just not so easy to get through a lot of days..that's why it's important to stay intune with other such as these threads...I so feel the love, compassion and understanding between complete strangers, now that's incorrect, between friends who've not yet met through the posts...makes one feel they are no longer alone , that somebody cares and loves them..that's 1/2 the battle won isn't...thanks for sharring..

Our other "Laura" she's just a sweetie...

Waving Trisha...

Reason I'm up so early is I want to tidy up and organize myself..and here I sit visiting with all of you..don't even have a coffee in hand..

not large numbers in my class today because I divided them all in 2 classes as so enable me to visit with them more, not just teach...

Better be off..

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

MORNING!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good grief Betty you are one busy lady! I need to see what the wind chill is here today, it's pretty windy. I was going to do some gardening today but maybe not. I know I have to pay bills then work on the Victorian Santa, then who knows!

Betty, I have a Tigger counted cross stitch I started some time ago and found I don't like counted cross stitch one bit and more than likely won't work on it ever again. Do you want it? It's not a Christmas theme or anything, just bought it because I can't find any full size embroidery patterns and to see if I would enjoy doing counted cross stitch as much as I enjoy embroidery, and I don't. I just want to sew by number LOL!!

Here in AR some people would decorate poison ivy if they thought the could get away with it LOL! Man something has my allergies going big time, bet I'm allergic to my cat.

Judy hun, I'm sorry that your sister has been released, but hopefully the dr isn't wrong about the decision. I know this is different, but when I had my appendectomy the dr. released me before I thought I was ready to go home. I even asked him if he was sure I was ready. It turned out that home was the best medicine, but the first week was horrible, then every week I improved little by little. You and your sister are in my thoughts and prayers.

Bipolar is very tough and there are lots and lots of people who have the disorder. The medical science keeps getting better and better with the meds to treat it, which is wonderful! I think there are more people who have it than are diagnosed too. I've always wondered on this issue: When they call someone a "normal" person I always have to wonder what that's supposed to mean since we are all so different from each other. I inherited something that makes me talk to myself, my mom is worse than I am, is that considered "normal?" Heck no, if you tell a dr about it he can prescribe a medicine that controls it. My mom's so bad she'll walk down the street talking to herself out loud the whole way. If I walk down the street thinking about something or someone I had a conversation with I'll stop and wonder if I was talking out loud or not.

My cat was chasing her tail earlier, steroids at work! Deer season has started today and there are guns going off everywhere around here! Oh, I guess that was a horse stomping in a moving horse trailer! LOL! So much for that! I have to pay bills then I'm going to the Victorian Santa part 2 site and starting over on the project, hopefully I'll get close to caught up on it. Ok, that was definately a shot gun, I'm not hearing things!

I'll see ya'll soon!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

It's only going to be 61 degrees today??? Last night they said it was going to be 73 today, I'd say they missed it! Bum!

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

We are in the low 40s with the wind so feels like 30s. BRRRRRR!!

Good Morning!

Well, Bev..it is quite chilly out today huh? LOL, stuck my head head out the door and pulled right back in...Guess I will just putter around the inside today.

Speaking of which, Betty, guess who rearranged her sunroom? Heheh, my chair looks right at home next to fire place! It's really gloomy and balmy so i think an indoor fire will be just what I need to cheer up. Lots of finishing touches on this and that to do...

Hi Wonderhug, It was really good to see you post. I am so very glad for you that the Doctor have diognosed what has been up with you. This will make a huge difference in your getting better. Please, Please stay on the meds. No matter what anyone saiys to you...People who do not understand say some truly off the wall stuff, Pay them no attention and just take your meds and talk to family and friends. It is very very important to understand the effects on Bi-Polar...I, We love you and want you to come and chat with us. Give you support anytime you need...We are here for you sweetie.

Gosh darn that mail system, LOL...Think I could have delivered it faster! I have many Santas to create, So as soon as you want to start yours, I will have one to play with ya too! LOL even if it's Easter.

Vicky, Sending Hugs and warm wishes to you and Linda. I was so glad to hear how happy the Doctor was. Lets keep praying it is Very good continues! You and your sister have a real good atitude in the situation and I think that is so good in helping to Heal.

Liz, Girl, So happy to see you Post...Hands are on the hips here! you are just too funny, Love you too and thanks for always keeping me going...phone is charged AND I havent lost it yet today! giggle giggle. A good friend of mine used to always tell me he was going to make a shirt with velcro all over it...Got the photo of your tree...Hmmm, I think it will work wonderfully actually, Now that I BEAT you in starting a Santa, lol, got you back...now who has hands on her hips, hehehe.
And here is how I spent a good part of my day, working on Santa, which was wonderful one I had everything needed, Good golly I have got to clean that table! Also, it was a sure help to take mind off of things. Even though i was getting perturbed at some of the dumbest things. So, can you beleive with this Garage in my foyer and all the tools downstairs I could not find a hammer!! ROFLOL, The only thing resembling a hammer was a rubber mallet, still shaking my head here, so i found some big heavy plier like tool to tap the nail in...how goofy, but hey it worked!

Good Morning Deborah, Thanks for the call, I seem to be in much better shape today. Did washing your slippers help?
I don't plan on driving today, and LOL, I think I've made up for all the coffee i missed out on yesterday.

Welcome home Laura...Your Photo's were just lovely to see.

Stacey, I am wishing you all the best with the Recruiter. I hope they will find a good position for you. Was so bummed to hear of your trouble at the job front. So, I am hoping all the harder you find something else quick.

Bev, WOW...Isn't the Fall just Splendid. What beautiful colors to see. Ours are now falling like crazy...

Jeannine, As usual your quilt is beautiful!! You did a great job on that bag too. I am just starting to learn to quilt. So far i bought a book and read it cover to cover, LOL now to quit thinking about it and start a project! LOL, mine are going to be small till I get the hang of it. Pretty soon you will take it up again? Oh I know you are out camping and pulling the Boat. I sure hope that goes well and you don't freeze too much. Oh my gosh, i di just love seeing Sailor and Murphy playing. Will they keep them together at the Kennel? I hope so.

Ruby, How are you doing? is your infection better? gone is even more hoped for.

Oh Betty, How is Sharon doing? Is she still resting? Hope she isn't over doing.
I have to giggle at you, LOL, it is so nice to bring out your Christmas decorations!! LOL, I have had my few Santa's out since you gave them to me! I know, you told to put them in the shed, but it is so nice to have them out...Brings a smile every time i see them...And i thought you know, We won't be here after Christmas again this year, So maybe i will join you and Carol in the Holdiay spirit and start now too. My friend, I know how hard it is to not think about things, it's impossible. So, May you remember all the love and good things You and Roger shared. Tell us anytime time. Abig arm wrap to you.

Hi Crissy, Thank you...Did i see you got your kit? Have you started?

OH My gosh, LOL...blabby me is back, now that i have written a novel again, I have to run to bank!
TYL have a good day. Waving Hello, to all who are reading!

Then in scrapbooking I'd ordered a delicate looking snowflake and corner punch..hard to get so will go see if the vendor was able to pick them up on her last trip to wholesalers..

I'm hoping if I rush in and rush out, could be back by 4:30 and in my jammies..

Will tell you how destructive I was today..so sad...will show you photo's when I returne...got to go

Hi Seed, I got my kit and just said forget it and bought a yard of material (I had already started and screwed up, ended up cutting the dress in half while trying to cut a place for a sleeve) I have started over and currently am looking at 1 cut in my material LOL!

Oh sure, now that it's almost dark the wind stops, it was about 10mph and felt like it was blowing off of ice, but there's no ice for it to blow off of down here. BBRRRRRR

Betty, what a cute cat! Look at all of that fuzz!

(Cathy), MO

Just popping in to say hi everyone. I've missed out on so much I had to go thru 4 threads to catch up!
Sedning hugs to all who need them

Cardiff, ON(Zone 4a)

Liz, it was so nice to see you post. We had snow on the ground a couple weeks ago but it has melted now. It's unseasonably warm here. This past week it was almost 20 celcius (don't know farenheit and I'm too lazy to look up a conversion - sorry).

Today is Ella's second birthday. I was considering having one of her friends and his parents over but decided against it. It's just as well. I babysat him four days last week and it turns out that I'll be babysitting him for four days this coming week too. I think Ella will appreciate her break from playmates for the weekend. We went to a friend's house last night for supper and an evening of beet pickling. I made a birthday cake and took it over so we had a little celebration there. Ella really liked blowing her candles out.

Tonight Sonora and I will be going to our weekly sewing circle. Sonora is making biscuits to take with us. I love having a break from home. It's so much easier to work on projects without 'helping hands'. Tomorrow we're having some friends over to celebrate my birthday. I'm making lasagne and caesar salad. Then for dessert I'm making a chocolate mousse cake. I can't wait. There was a time when I would let Keith make my birthday dinner and cake. I've come to realize that if I want something really special, it's better if I make it.

Well, I'm off to get ready to sew. Here's a pic of Ella.

Thumbnail by gillibean
Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Hi Gillian,
You gave me quite a little chuckle when you talked about making your own special birthday dinner..if you want it to be good.
The photo of Ella is sweet.
Happy Birthday to both of you.

What are you and Sonora working on at the sewing circle?

Betty..hope your ear ache isn't too painful. You really should go have that checked out at the doctor's.
It has been going on for so long.

I made a nice veggie stir fry and grilled slamon for dinner and opened a bottle of red wine..after all it is Saturday..right LOL
I made an apple crisp this afternoon for dessert.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I want some coffee & Bailey's. Don't know why I'm having that craving, but it sounds so good!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all...

Happy Birthday to you / Happy Birthday to you..Happy Birthday Dear Ella, Happy Birthday to you! Tell her I am singing a birthday song for her..imagine, when you visited me she was just starting to hold on to furniture while trying to walk..just too cute!so laughing as well at your "make it yourself' comment...I'd rather have a bad meal ..just as long as I am NOT cooking...had Kentucky Fried Chiken tonight..very greasy but ate out of the box - no dishes to clean..lordy I'm getting lazy aren't I?

Carol, spoke the the pharmacist tonight, gave me something that has a anesthetic in it as to help with pain..I know I have to see a Dr. for it, but with working in the city it's just so hard, and then when I do think I'll go and there is no earache, no sense going because he wouldn't be able to see anything...catch 22..OMG your meal sounds fantastic...you sure do cook healthy meals for being on your own...wish I lived closer..I could play and add tp your christmas basement while you cook..lol

Melanie called and wanted to know if Noah could spend the night with me...sure/no problem, then she said Noah wanted to know if he could invite a friend to spend the night with him..lol...so 2 little gaffers to keep me company..said he'b be here by 7:00pm so will arrive shortly..thing is, this grandma will be in bed sleeping while the are up enjoying so really who is babysitting who?

Kyle belongs to Cadets so marched today in Legion parade in Port McNicoll which is about 8 miles away, then again in Victoria Harbour in late aft. - spoke with him, he's marching again tomorrow in Waubaushene and asked if I could come..so will definately try...he's spending the night at a friends..said to me, "grandma, lots of work you know being a cadet..got to iron that uniform each and everytime you wear it, tie and all, and must polish/shine those shoes almost everynight..no scuff marks..must see yourself in them" so guess he's taking joining to heart..

Cat, waving ......missed you! Tell us what's been keeping you so busy?

Bev can't believe how cold it is down there..would say it was in the 50's today, rain from time to time, tonight you deginately can feel the temp. changing..was playing with the thermostat again..musn't do that...what did you play at today?

Crissy, maybe the key to doing the santa sewing IS to have your Bailey's...when Roger was alive, we'd make Bailey's and back then we'd bring it with us on snowmobile trails..that's a no/no now, probably then as well..not that a little sip would do anything..all thought it would help warm us up but infact it did the opposite..

Did go to the snowmobile shop, just walked in at 3:00pm the young lad who was shutting the side door lights off said we're closed...come back on Monday so I told him I work in the city and couldn't come back Monday, I was there now...then one of the men who know me well said 'hello' and make out the pass for this upcoming season..when we first needed trail permits for snowmobiles I think it was something like $40.- now $180. and that much only if purchased before Dec. - the boss saw me from his office, gave a shout and told me he still had my snowmobile dickie I had made him..now that's at least 18 years ago..goes to show you how good wool and deerhide last...said soon he'd need another...I just said 'oh yes'..lol

The scrapbooking vendor didn't make the trip to her supplier this week, said her mother wasn't well, in the hospital so would go this week and check for my order..hope she gets it...

Judy, you asked about Sharon, spoke to her late aft. said she didn't know what the problem was but she can't walk from her bedroom to the kitchen without making a stop and resting...her house is big but not that big..said pain is there slightly, she's vomitting constantly so not eating...

Probably all that morphine they've been giving her...as for being unable to walk much, she was in bed for about 1 1/2 months so she probably needs to regain her strength..

Told her she should call the doctor's office Monday if no improvement...feel so bad for her...

THEN she told me she had an argument with Brian and told him to move out, and this time she meant it...I just skipped right over that comment because she has said this for the past 3 years since he's moved in which should have been for a week or so...she said he slammed the door, cursing..now what I didn't ask is if he has no vehicle and they live in the middle of nowhere did he take her new van?

Judy do hope your sister is able to cope on the outside world while being so down...laughing, can imagine you with your adirondak chair in front of the fireplace with your 4' santa I gave you on my trip to Chicago and Steve just shaking his head..lol

I'm rambling right girls..very/very tired..what I didn't tell you is I stopped off and bought nice new flannel jammies...had my bath and are they comfy....

Must be off...talk in the morning..must take the knitting machine off Noah's bed and the few gifts I purchased for a friend so he has room to sleep on it..

night/night

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I’m still getting confused. Could people call me Zhinu or Laura G. that way I’d know who you were talking to for sure?

Crissy, I talk to myself too. I’m not sure what “normal” is, because the normal people I think are weirder than we are, that’s why “normal” was in quotes.

At least now that ear pieces have become popular most people will just think your mom and you are on the phone.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I always put normal in quotes when talking about people. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who does that. Yay!

Happy Birthday Ella! I know you can't read this but your mom can LOL!!!!

Laura G. I'm in the mid south gardening forum a lot and there are 3 Mary's in there, talk about confusion, I never know which Mary is doing what.

Dang, it is really cold in here, I hope Dave gets ready fast so we can get out of here before I decide to turn the heat up.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Crissy, I think we had 6 Lauras in my year in middle school. I tried all types of nicknames, but nothing stuck; honestly I've never had a nickname stick offline.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Betty-your helath is NOTHING to mess with so even if you have to go to work late missy you better get to it-don't need it getting worse-what if it is a problem that as it increases needs surgery or something!! I will call Suzanne if I have to-there is only 1 suzanne in Victoria Harbour right?? The information lady will know who I mean??

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Hi girls. You all are always so busy. It is funny to see if I don't post for a while how many thread continuations there are, this time it was 5. lol

I got a pellet stove for my house and we have not installed it yet, but It will be so Nice to have some heat in another part of the house than our bedroom. Since for the last 3 years in the winter we live in the bedroom with a space heater, since propane has gone up and up and is not at all affordable for heat. Now I have my dd and sil and grand baby living here, we needed it more.

Hope you all are doing well. The winter threads get longer and posting more frequent too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all you lovely ladies...had to lay quietly in bed for a few minutes to focus...was it a non-work day or work-day...so here I am, much to do and it's a stay at home day...

Noah's little friend couldn't come for the sleepover so it was just he and I..for those of you on the thread for sometime you might remember that Noah is the most like me, in looks and personality..soooo cute! lol

Talking about Christmas with him trying to get more ideas...the 2009 theme park pass is main gift but still need to get them other things...he could only come up with what he REALLY wants from Santa..am sure he knows there is no Santa, but why ruin a good thing! There is a special bike he wants, has 3 already but this one is special...so I asked how much and he said about $850. eyes popped out of my head..know they have everything but lordy that's a lot of money...get this...I said:

"Noah do you think money grows on trees?" and he says "of course it does grandma, depends how you look at it...money is paper and made from trees...so, not on trees but in trees, so most likely I'll get my bike" kids are just to smart for this old grandma....

Stacey, you have me laughing, can almost see you calling Suzanne...shaking my head..but it has been many months so better get something done...I always think earaches are so minor though..why bother doctors who are dealing with deadly diseases..

Dawn, have heard about the pellet stoves and all good reports...are the pellets themselves very expensive? Never associate cold with California but guess it depends where in Calf. you live right? Nice that you all will be toasty warm...give that grandaughter a squeeze and hug for me please...need updated photo...

Zhinu, if we call you Laura and you read and none of it makes sense, just pass it over and know it's for downunder..lol

Crissy did you by any chance get the santa sewed?

Well best get at my 'to do' list..
Enjoy your day..

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Hi everyone. Just sitting here haveing my coffee. Gotta get up and get me and Scotty ready for church. I have a bad ear too Betty but not the ache. Mine is infected because I stuck a bobby pin in there and scratched it twice like a dummy. I was all the time hollering at my sis for that cause she had it every other month or so.Been washing it out with peroxide and putting triple anti ointment in it but it is still sore. Got to leave it alone!!! Well talk later. LOVE & HUGS BEV

Wow.. bad thing to do Bev with bobby pins...have done it once or twice when I've found a pin somewhere..must be our generation..

Still in my jammies, just going up to put curls in my hair and then decide where I start..Noah is still sleeping..waiting for a call from Greg as I need 2 sheets of plywood to finish enclosing back deck..asked him to come over early with his truck..what my early is and his early is..could be a different story..lol

Enjoy your breakfast..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thought I was running a bit behind, but when I post it's an hour earlier than what is seen on screen...sure glad I gained that hour..lol

Maybe I can find me some breakfast as well..porridge always warms the tummy..

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

But Betty it can be serious-I only have partial hearing in my L ear due to an earache as a child and by the time I went to the Dr and they had to put tubes in my ears I have so much scar tissue on my eardrum that it has affected my hearing since I was about 5

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

And, Betty, my ear problem turned into vertigo and I ended up calling 911 when I couldn't get out of bed one day! And mine didn't even hurt when that happened. So, see, get yourself to the doc even if it isn't hurting right that minute.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Girls, good Lord is trying to tell me I've not been kind to my mother recently re the dog/$$$ and situation with Sharon..

I called her early this morning, thought I'd save her a trip here when I can easily drive to Barrie and meet her and Jim on their way back home from the cottage...think I mentioned it in a post above..

Got up early got them done and called..

She started to say 'hello my dear, who are you?' thought well maybe I sounded different this morning.. said 'it's me mom, Betty' so she went on..'where do you live?' hello there, somethings wrong..so I continued talking, she asked me what santa's, why would she want santa's, I must be mistaken, who am you?....finally after talking for about 10 minutes in the twilight zone I asked her if I could talk to Jimmy, she says' oh do you know my Jimmy?' - "yes I do, just want a few words with him'...

He comes on and I asked if something was wrong and he said more than wrong - now wouldn't that be your first clue to go to the hospital? so I say I'd like to meet you both in Barrie..want to make sure she's ok..

Phone rings, 'hello, haven't spoken with you in awhile, Jim said we're meeting in Barrie, does it have to be today? he said you had something for me but maybe you can give it to me another time... I say no, it's a commitment we must do, we agreed to meet and Jim said we could...does that mean I'd have to get dressed to go? - yes, unless you want everyone in Michaels to look at you...we're going to my son Michaels, how come? she says...no the craft store I say..

Well I don't need anything at a craft store, think I'll stay here today...hangs up...

Telephone rings 5 minutes later..same discussion..I talk to Jim say I'll leave here at 10:30 and if they leave there at 10:30 we should hit Barrie same time....ok all planned, call Sharon to let her know, she calls Jim, mom doesn't know who she is, Sharon says to Jim that he must get her to the hospital..

not more than 5 minutes the telephone rings, by then Greg is here to take me to Midland for wood, can't do that, while we're on the phone, she calls again, asks me where I live, tell her where, I say Greg's here so she asks if he's my husband....arrgggg

So on my last call, Jim says he'll call once she gets dressed and I can leave to meet them with the agreement that once in Barrie, because she's yelling at him that there is no need for hospital emerge as nothing is wrong, that perhaps I can convince her..maybe say I AM the one that needs assistance and would they bring me?

I don't know...trying to fill in time here until the call comes..

never rains but it pours...

Although I think sometimes she's off the wall with the 'dog' situation she is kind at heart, and my mom and I'd hate to have something happen to her...

If you've time today - prayers please

The only places in CA it doesn't freeze is next to the ocean and South of Bakersfield in the LA basin between the ocean and mountains, there is a mountain called The Grapevine that separates the valley from LA. It freezes in the valley and blizzards up north (above Redding) and in the Sierra Nevada range that runs from San Diego all the way up through Oregon into Washington, maybe into Canada. Of course the range changes names but it's the same mountain range.

LOL I've sewn the dress together. I want to work on it more today but I haven't quite got going yet (yes I know it's after noon, lazy day lol)

Betty your family is in my prayers. Keep us posted hun.
