BJ-I understand that would be frustrating and I aggree-with harsher crimes they don't get a lump sum deal, so why with this one??
What is a bull dog clip?? And does the raffia all have to be over the pan-like should I make the raffia shorter than the pan so non hangs off the ends??
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞ 48
Doesn't matter how much raffia you put on the rods... doesn't matter how much rod hangs over the sides of the pan... just so your raffia is over the water so it will catch the steam.
A bull dog clip is those clip things you get at the office supply that are spring loaded... like a paper clip, but works like a clamp for stacks of paper.
Debra, you have my prayers that you can find him a good home.
Debra, why do you need to find a new home for Woody?
Debra, I'm so sorry you are having to give up Woody. If I lived closer.....Oh, wait, would one of your neighbors take him? So you could visit him? I missed the thread about the reason you are giving him up. But when I get situated here I'll go back and read it. I just walked in the door from the doctor and shopping for office supplies out of town. I'm tickled pink that you're hubby went thumbs up on the sewing machine of your dreams. Now don't do what mine would do in a case like that by wrapping the empty box and putting it under the Christmas tree. You start making another list and leave a paper trail all over the house. I know, how about the material for those new drapes?
Kathy, sweetie, I'm sorry you haven't been feeling good. Bake a cake and eat it all. That always makes me feel better. I'll call you in the am.
BJ, those checks should give her a stiffer penalty based on the amounts. Misermeaners and felony counts are based on the $$ of the thieft. Isn't that right? or have they changed everything since I worked and had to prosecute shoplifters and bad check writers.
Laura, I'm still laughing about the 2 year old music critic you sit for. That's so funny! So he's got an ear for music.
Deborah... apparently nobody at the state level get's all excited about $200... it's not enough to make a federal charge... but it's 1/3 of his disability income, with all the reconnect fees and nsf fees it costs him, it's more like 1/2 of his income... he will probably get the nsf fees back, but the bank drags their feet too... the light company doesn't care, they won't reimburse his reconnect fee.
That $200 would be like $1000 to someone working for a living... so I really don't agree with those "amount" limits that they use to determine charges... they should determine it by how badly they hurt the victim.
Could you go through small claims court for those other charges your son suffered? Never mind, ours charges $75 for a claim and only serves the paper once. Ditch that idea. I feel so bad for what your son has gone through. Wait, did she take the check out of the mail box? Can he have the SSI check direct deposited.
Should be able to have direct deposit, mine is.
His SSD and SSI checks are direct deposited... she stole the checks he put in his mailbox to pay his utility bills... TXU is the electric company, and she changed TXU to her name... then changed the amount... wasn't even a good alteration either... can't believe the convenience store even cashed it.
The sheriff's office will request assistance from the USPS to press charges for "Tampering with the US mail" ... but they probably won't press the charges... the USPS doesn't want to bother with it...
As soon as they refuse... I'll be calling the News Station in Dallas...
It's the principle of the thing now... he'll be alright financially, we'll help there... but this thief just shouldn't be able to keep getting by with it...
I would do just that Brenda, I would keep it in the press as much as you can, you would be amazed at how fast the DA will come up from under their rock and do something.
I just remembered something I wanted to ask eveyone. How Much is Your Gas? I paid $2.65 for Premium (sp). I couldn't believe it. That tells you how often I go somewhere lol yep I'm a homebody.....................
I saw gas at $2.07 in Athens today... it's been going down about .10 cents a weeks lately.
gas here is around 2.05-2.15 depending on what side of town you are on
sorry I didn't post as soon as I got home
I'm fine route was fine just sitting in the office until 1:15 makes it boring when the phones aren't ringing and not much to do but sit when ya have to be near the phone.
once I got done with that and went outside I was fine.
Holy Cow! Fill them motorhomes up!!! Wished my mom's wasn't so old I'd be traveling to visit you all. But this won't last very long will it?
Stacey,
Have you seen this thread? It's about salt dough pumpkins
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/917598/
who knows for sure how long it will last they keep saying it is going down more on the news
Gas was 2.10 todays at Sam's.
Ours is $2.39 most places, $2.29 in a few....would be nice if it would go down and stay there for awhile! Our electric is sky high during the winter....don't need expensive gas on top of it all!
I think ours is still high. It probably will take us longer to get new lower prices. Seems everything happens to north Ga around Atlanta before it trickles down further south. Like back in the late 70's when jelly shoes were popular, we were still wearing clogs but Atlanta folks were "in fashion" with jelly shoes months before they hit our stores. Same with Add-a-bead necklaces. :( Good gas prices won't be any different.
Oh no!! They might as well just tell that woman, have a nice day and don't do it anymore!!!! So sorry BJ.
We know sistah Debra will do what's best for Woody. She has invested so much of herself but Woody insisted on being a free spirit. I hope someone with lots of acres and at least miles away from a main road will take in Woody.
Yep it takes less $$ to fill up now. Hope it stays this way. Cheapest is across the border in a small town call Loris.. about $2.37 a gallon for premium. Yes I agree Trisha, heating propane should stay low this winter. It's going for about 20 cents more.
Here's my sewing machine. Thank y'all so much! I'm having a ball. I never realized how much enjoyable sewing can be. It's such a rewarding activity, especially for the cold months. My dining room table is now my sewing room. We eat in front of the computers. Well, we were before too, but at least we could have ate at the dining room table if we wanted to. Thanksgiving dinner we will, then it's back to sewing until Christmas dinner.
Deborah, I've never owned a pair of jelly shoes :D But clogs, yes!
Look what precious baby blanket material Cindy sent me! And patterns for diaper bags and aprons for me! I most always were an apron in my garden, now I get to make one and wash the others. No more running to the nurseries wearing a dirty apron. See the butterfly fabric she sent too! Yep! I'm going to make one for cooking Thanksgiving dinner too! Many thanks again to you sistah Cindy!
I had a pair of wooden bottomed clogs with a leather strap going across the top of my foot. They were so comfortable and just made a pair of bell bottom jeans look chic. I put them in a garage sale when they went out of style, even though I they still looked so good. It wasn't a year later that style came back into style! I don't do garage sales anymore. :0[
Wowie!!! Big smile here!! Now you have a good reason to stay away from us!!!
Sistah Deborah, your table is still not cluttered enough!!! It got to be
c o v e r e d.. oh oh.. that's right, wait till Marion gets there!!
By the way, when you need a new project, you can make purses. You already have half the materials on your table.... the placemats!

Good night sistahs.. it's 10.16 and feels like 11.16
My body says it's bedtime!!
See you all in the morning---
Luv y'all!

BJ, sounds like you have the right idea, I wish you luck! Hope there is someway you can make her pay more.
have you talked to the post master Bj and the district atty office?
just a thought
I'm not going to talk to the DA until we find out if the USPS refuses the Sheriff Dept's request for assistance... if that happens, you bet I'm going to raise some stink...
Thank you all for being supportive... and I appreciate all your ideas in handling this... I really do.
Hope you get it all worked out BJ....seems like the bad guys get more consideration than the victims these days doesn't it?
Yes it does, Trisha...
Oh Man! BJ...I am so sorry to hear of yhis aggrevation. Sure hope thaey get that HMMMM.
It just aggrevates the HMMMM someone would stoop so below human to do this kind of thing.
I am praying for you and your son.
Debra, OMG...haven't read that other thread yet, but Oh I am so sorry. I hope that you are able to find a very loving family with lots and lots of space.
You go girl! I am so enjoying all your new adventures in sewing...Your table sure is busy, Big happy smiles for all your beautiful materials and patterns. Deborah, yep you keep on practicing and enjoy every minute!
So glad you are feeling better Jaye. Good night love, hope you get a good nights rest...You too Phylis and Fairy, hoping you are both feeling better too...
I am bushed myself going to turn in...was a busy night.
Sounds like EVERYONE needs a good nights sleep.
woohoo gas down here too...2.58 was one of the lowest we've noticed.
Good night Sistah's All.
BJ, sorry to hear that the system sucks!!! Pretty bad the victim gets treated like crap, and the offender walks away with a slap on the hand!
I paid $2.02 for regular gas here yesterday. Cindy, why are you paying for premium gas? I heard on the news tonight that it was $1.89 in San Antonio.
Good night ladies, I am heading to bed.
Sweet dreams
LK
LK, I bought my 4Runner brand new, I've put premium in it since day 1. I figured this was the first and probably the last vechile that I will ever buy new, so I want it to run for a long time.
I paid $2.06 for gas yesterday-if I'd had cash it woulda been $1.98...oh well
Thanks for the link CIndy:) That site that you sent the www.comsumercrafts.com is awesome-a lot of things that are hard to find at reg stores-I have like $40 in my cart now:) Thanks so much!!
I now need a dremel;) I found some drill bits for glass and can etch on those blue bottles and get some taper candle light to put in them-WOO HOO!!
Yes it is cool. I'm glad they finally went online.
We have it down to 1.99 but it is the gas that has more than 10 % mix in it. Deborah looks like you are going to have lots of fun now. Dont get all tied up there as not to be able to pop on here and chat.
Good morning Cindy and Stacey :)
MORNING-can't stay and chat-I will send you an email maybe tonight or tomorrow with what I want and then need a total to see if I can afford it;)
I got soem stuff for the Xmas fairy swap from there and some finishing touches for some things I am planning and have been looking for specific things:)
