wow, 8 days off is a mini vacation, Ves! Do enjoy every single minute of it. I know you will. When I worked retail, I felt lucky when I had 2 days off in a row.
Best Thing/Worse Thing and What did I learn today? #65
Corde it is more then a mini vacation it is a vacation! I work parttime and therefore there are noo benefits. Just glad the boss took my suggestion and clumps our workdays together for a 2 week period and that gives us these stretches.
Ves, You sound like my Sweetie! He checks in the trucks and puts out freight, besides waiting on customers! They've asked him to be Store Manager for a while, he tried to turn them down, but they talked him into it1 It kept him awake, worrying about it! He says he's to old and tird for all the headache!
You're lucky he did! Usually they wont do it!
Doe41 I could be an Asst. Manager any time there is an opening. But after working there 2 years I know better then to take it. It would be too hard physically to keep up with a 30 or more hour week. Just give me a few more parttime hours and I will be a fairly happy camper! LOL Oh a raise would be nice also! ROFLMAO
Morning everyone, just popping in to say hello. Hope you all have a great day.
LK
I am just going to cry..wrote a novel, where is it??
Audrey, I just got on meds that actually work this summer. Last Winter/Spring I had many days where it was all I could do to get up and take care of what I had to, it was very rare I did anything that wasn’t required. It’s amazing what a difference the right meds make.
I’m glad us “kids” have Dave’s too ;o)
ves522, what would I give to have 8 days off? Hmm…
where does this stuff go...
Started off by saying hello everyone, so nice to open up this thread and find such lovely people...glad you enjoyed the essay!
Got my "Iris Folding Christmas Card patterns" all in their envelopes ready to mail...1 for Janice/Stacey, then Cat and also Jeannine...while I've got the templates I photo copied, anyone else????
Glad you all enjoyed the essay on God, thought it was worth posting...
Vicki think it was a good decision to not take a managerial position, I was there and believe me it's not all it was cracked up to be, did half the work myself, people didn't show, had to work their shifts, responsibility of the world on my shoulder, nope, an employee is fine with me..go home, no more worries...how is your sister doing? been praying for her needs and for you as well as I know you are worried about her...
Audrey unless I screwed up big time, a second face per kit was forwarded with each envelope..and yes, you'll be able to make them no problem..doing it for a Christmas gift????
Linda Kay, you busy today?
Deborah, off you go, get that santa outfit cut and sewn..then no more worries about it...how do you like that new sewing machine? Now what is it you are sewing and not sharring???
Ruby, sounds as though your body is telling you that you NEED to rest...as for cooking, doesn't everyone go to 'take out'?? have fun shopping today, pick yourself up something for a 'treat' you didn't say, did you get to shop while on vacation..what came home with you??
Carol, anything going on at the complex, swimming, dancing? did you manage to get all your 'garden' art put away..what a job that must me..can't imagine...some is left out right?
Laura, so glad you have the meds that make you functional..hard to find the right ones sometimes...just going to go start us a new room decorated with warm fireplace!

Hello everybody,
Carol, alstramerias (sp?) used to be by very favourite flowers. We had them on our wedding cake. I love yours.
Well, I'm excited. Yesterday I sold my very first thing online. I am quite proficient at buying things online but selling is new to me. I packaged it up this morning, printed out a shipping label and have it all ready to go.
I can't believe tomorrow is Hallowe'en. It's a good thing I bought all the candy to hand out a couple weeks ago. Sonora is going as Medusa and Ian is being "Vampire Comb-hand". Ian's first plan was to be a blue marshmallow - last year he wore his blue puffy down jacket under his spiderman costume so this year he was just going to wear his coat and be a marshmallow. Then he found a comb we have for our cat (not that we ever use it). He decided that he would hold it in one hand (like a hook) and be comb-hand. Then his two front teeth fell out (with the help of a faceplant on the school yard) and he figured that he should be a vampire too. Ian is so funny. For Ella we have a costume that friend gave us that's basically an orange fleecy overall with a jack-o-lantern on it. I just need to make sure I can find the matching hat. Normally I'm much more organized and try to get everything ready well in advance. I guess I just have other things on the go right now.
I've been trying to research gluten-free diets and things to help digestive problems. While doing that I've come across a lot of information about Leaky Gut Syndrome. It's like a lightbulb has gone on. My two older sisters have Crohn's, I have digestive issues, Sonora has digestive issues and ezcema and Ian has PPD-NOS (on the autism spectrum). Anyway, my mental wheels have been turning for quite a while and now they're turning more. The worst thing is that there's so much conflicting information out there so it's taking some time to wade through it all. I'm a little suspicious of sites that say, "You need this supplement and we can sell it to you." I already make most food that we eat from scratch and we eat quite healthily so it will be interesting to see if I can improve things.

Betty DS surgery will be on Wednesday and it sounds like it has been caught in time. But I am being caution with a wait and see attitude.
Time to get dressed and head outside. The frost has melted and I think it has warmed up a bit out there. Anyway the sun is shining!
You all have the day you need if I don't get back here.
Wes, that's why he didn't want to take it! This is just to help out till things get straightened out. Big changes in the works! No smoking in the building, no cell phones except on breaks, NO OBSCENE LANGUAGE in the store! They all have to sign a paper saying they've read the rules, and "he, or she. who doesn't abide, will be terminated!"
My goodness I don't have time to read all of these, thanks to Radio Shack and they're not so quick responsiveness!
How is Sharon and everyone, I wish I had time to read the whole thread, but until I get my internet going I'm stuck.
I loved the white gorilla costume, it would've looked great on my boss!!
Greetings All - As always, very good to see everyone posting. I had fallen a bit behind in reading again. I had no energy last week and finally found out that I have been fighting a Urinary Tract Infection. Whenever I have them, my first symptom is tiredness. Hope the meds will kick in soon and that I will have some energy to do a few things that have been put off for a while.
Betty, you asked if I was able to shop on vacation. That is a big ten four good buddy. Yep, during last years vacation I was introduced to The Christmas Tree Shoppes stores. My niece who we visited for a couple of nights lives nearby one and I literally had an overflowing cart. I didn't even get through the whole store this time. I was too tired by the time that we got to kitchen wares and to ys, so I only skimmed those areas.
I have not even opened my shopping bags yet. I want to sit aside a day to get gifts organized by person for Christmas. I just remembered while walking around the yard yesterday that I bought several bags of bulbs that need to be planted. Today looks like a good day to start doing that. I didn't do any chores to the house yesterday and so am behind on dish washing and clothes washing. Need to start those things first before venturing outside to do anything.
Oh yeah, add vacuuming to that. Two of my dogs got a bit close and atttacked each other yesterday in a corner where I have some houseplants sitting in front of a door. About three or four of the pots got turned over and the soil in them was damp. I just left it overnight so that the soil will dry out and be easier to get up. I need to hit a few high spots with a dust rag too. So, if I get outside to do anything, I will be lucky. The weather looks lovely again for the third day in a row. I hope that it lasts for while so that I will be able to work in the yard some this upcoming week.
So, that is enough of my boring life to share for now. Same old, same old.....but I truly prefer boring to having a crisis going on. I hope that each of you will enjoy the rest of today and have a great week coming up. Take care ladies.
Ruby
