mike says it will take a month to dig my plants, an 2 months to move everything
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞ 42
Oh, well... so it takes a while... at least it's not in the heat of summer.
I think Mike is correct on that one;) Don't forget to tag as you dig so you know what it all is-might just be better to get a back ho in there and just remove gimongo sections and drive it over to the new house!!LOL
Oh how cute Cindy!!!! I will have to look-I know I have a peice that has fire trucks on it-think you can make a fire woman outfit!!LOL
Cindy, we're not making quilt sqares... we're swapping fat quarters... if you want in, dmail me.
Well, if I could swap fat quaters for scraps for Barbie clothes I'll join, but don't want to mess things up.........Oh wait I have that huge eagle panel that needs borders hmmmm maybe I could do this....Tell me more BJ
what are fat quarters?
This is waht Jaye put:
"AnjL, it's 1/2 yd of fabric, folded selvage to selvage, and cut along the fold. The 2 halves become 2 fat quarters"
Some fabric stores have bundles already cut
Cindy... I'm sure we all have some scraps we can send you... actually, I can send you some nice stuff to make some of those barbie gowns out of... but the whole idea here is to buy 1/2 yard of fabric.... cut it in half along the fold... keep half, and send half to your buddy... that way we get different prints to put in appliques, quilts... etc... just allows for more a variety of prints.
10 fat quarters will go to 1 buddy in a flat envelope.
HAS to be 100% cotton quilting fabric.

I don't know where I can find quilting fabric here so I guess I won't join this swap.
Ok, well, I'm still sending you some stuff for your barbie outfits... ok?
Opps... the one above was supposed to say...
Happy Birthday Kim!
Happy Birthday Donna
Thanks BJ what can I send you? more daffs? or pay postage?
NOPE... nothing... just want to send it to you.
Happy Birthday Kim!
Happy Birthday Donna!
Hope you both have the best birthday EVER!
I checked out the opera info on line and they have english subtitles above the stage, so I hope I can watch it and not read it. Maybe a little of both...
OH Thank You Thank You i used to make ALL of my daughter's dollie clothes first her baby doll whose cloth body had been replaced twice. Then Cabbage Patch kids 5 of 'em, then Barbies............now my grand daughter
Ooo.. that would be hard to have to read and miss the acting going on stage. But, probably doable... it would be too tempting to read the sub titles though...
Beause of my hearing I watch all of my shows with closed caption, it takes some fast eye movement.
I'll put a nice box of fabrics together for you today... whew... was wondering what I was going to do with it all... I'm just glad someone will make good use of it...
OOOOHHHH I'm excited now BJ, I have not been able to do this much crafting and sewing in years. Me being on disability now gives me lots of time.........Now if I could just find someone to do my housework for me lol.............just might hire a maid LOL that'll be the day..........
AnjL, I had to get an ultrasound due to pain under my ribs in the back, that seems to be the main symptom to look for. I didn’t have any and we never figured out what was up, but the pain went away before I even got to the doctor.
Cindy, I like quite a few on the first pack.
Happy Birthday KIM
and
Happy Birthday DONNA...
Enjoy!
Cindy-do you need any ribbons or other decorations for them too??
Sure if you have something you don't want Thanks
This is the house that Rick is going to make for her Barbie

Hello sistahs and nieces......you read that right! I keep forgetting Laura is actually the youngest here! Is it okay if I adopt you Laura? Stacey won't mind, she'll share ;)
Couldn't sleep last night, looking into patterns for Emerson and going through my stash for fat quarters and something for Deborah.... Wrecking my brains now thinking what would I have suitable for Cindy's Barbie.
Hurry and give me my swap buddy Sistah BJ!! So, I know which group to set aside!!! Or to order if I don't have it.....
If I'm there Sis, I'll help you with the packing and cook some seafood gumbo for you! Yes, please don't leave the plants behind. My gf left ALL hers back in La. when she moved to Tn. and has regretted not digging them up. Even those antique roses!! She was told by the buyers that they'd treasure them..... wrong... they backhoed them!!!!
Happy Birthday Kim and Donna!!! Wishing you both lots of laughter and hugs today!!
Debra, my appointment is 2 weeks from now. They might have to do half a boob at one time :D Lololol!!!
Oh btw, I resurrected my 20 year old pillow that I made with a Drunkard's Path pattern. Don't you all recognise that "Country Blue" color which was the rage then?
Jaye, I don’t mind, it’s always good to have more family. I have blood family and family I’ve chosen. I recently decided that a couple of my friends were toxic, but they’d been family for so long that they still are, I just refuse to associate with them, but if they really needed me I’d be there for them. I’m just tired of feeling like $#!% every time I’m around them.
I'll give out names next week... then we'll mail them the following week... that should give everyone a chance to get involved, and get the fabrics together.
Yep, I remember when country blue was so popular... and still is in some combinations... I'm in awe at your skills, dear sistah Jaye.
Laura, do you and your mom want in on the Fat Quarter swap?
I don't think so. It sounds like I'm getting the Treadle sewing machine as soon as I can find somewhere to put it; so hopefully I will start sewing, but right now one of the few crafts we don't do is sewing related stuff. I really like the way the foot powered sewing machine works; I feel it gives me more control and it's a great little machine, even if it is around a hundred years old.
People that love to bring you down are in deep pain themselves, Laura.
Don't let them penetrate your psyche.
Trisha, those old Singers sew perfect 1/4" seams, perfect for piecing.
My fav. quilt store owner is selling hers, a Featherweight, imported from England, made in the early 60's --- certified and and in mint condition--- for around $500. Too steep for me. On eBay, they go for at least $300 if in good condition. I think I'll go around the neighbourhood and see which grandma will like to adopt me :D
Jaye-a boob at a time???
Half a boob at a time, niece :P
I'm not following the "boob" comments... what's going on with you Jaye?
Debra's getting her mammogram. I'm just saying, mine is due in a couple of weeks, and with my weight gain, instead of a boob at a time to be compressed in between the x-tray plate and the top plastic plate (if I remember correctly), they might do half of a side, then the other half....
