Oh, ok... whew... didn't want to think it was something really bad.
Not like getting mashed between two cold steel plates isn't bad... but it could be worse.

I know I was wondering too!!! LOL Jaye-if I remember correctly I got my ta ta's from Tante jaye and know that when I get old enough to require them they will be doing 1/2 at a time-maybe if they get any bigger w/ kids 1/4 at a time!!LOL
LOL ya all are too funny
now what is this on a quilt square swap?
how soon and such???
Actually, I would recommend all ladies above 30 to get one. It's recommended for the above 40. I already know of 2 that has breast cancer, and they're in their mid 30's.
Lolol Stacey!!!!! 1/4 at a time will be a medical phenomenon!!
Phyllis, maybe next year we'll start a square swap.
We're keeping the fat quarter swap just here between our sistahs... send 10 fat quarters of 100% cotton quilt fabric to one buddy in a flat envie, and you'll get 10 from your buddy... I'll give out names next week, and we'll mail the following week, after the 1st of Nov. Want in?
the only cancer in my fam was prostate for gpa about 10 yrs ago-so Dr said I wasn't high risk and can wait til 40 to start them....as long as I do monthlies that is...
ok maybe I worded it wrong quilt material swap????
well Tante Jaye-the bigger they are the more flexible;)LOL
Happy Birthday, both you ladies! It's a nice time of the year for a birthday!
Not to scare anyone, but both these gfs of mine have no cancer in their family history.
Mary's in Lafayette, La. Sophy's in Houston, Tx. Could be the water they're drinking.
I think that all ages should have them done. It just seems that cancer getting to be a huge thing these days. I feel for these skinny little women who have hardly any boobies that have to have mammos that really gotta hurt OUCH
FYI... breast cancer can attack anyone, not just those who have it running in families. My mom's sisters had no history of it in the family... 2 of the 6 sisters had breast cancer... no one else, and their daughters never got it... so, EVERYONE needs to keep an eye on it... don't neglect it.
Just talked to Marion, she made it safely to her mom's, and YES she wants in on the fat quarter swap.
Cindy... you want to swap fat quarters?
Phyllis... yes, quilt fabric... 100% cotton. You in?
You know what BJ, yes I know where there is a fabric store that has quilting fabric it's in my hometown and I will be going there Sunday. So now what do I do?
Just dmail me with your preferences... colors, prints, etc.
Okie dokie gotta get my panel out see what colors
I hear ya ladies-I feel around every month and go for my yearlys-I am not neglecting-I swear!! (right hand raised)
He he he.. feel around what, niece :D
You know I do too, and I could not feel the lump that the mammorgram found. That is why I was so shocked it was small even with the ultra sound they had a hard time finding it
Girls, it's raining here, a drizzle! Cool, 53*, but no frost predicted for at least a week.Nice weather for sleeping! And since I didn't sleep last night till about 8 AM, I think that's what I'm gonna do!
I have all sorts of lumps, but I have fibrocystic disease. So I don't worry about them. I've had them for years. BUT: everyone needs to have a mammogram!
ummmm could be details please
Tante Jaye-you know what!!LOL I feel for "raisins in the tapioca";)
ROFL!!!!! As Tante BJ would say... "Slap yer mouth Niece!"
Phyllis, we are doing a fat quarter swap, just here with the sistah's. Send 10 fat quarters, and get 10 back. Send a d mail to BJ, if your interested.
Cindy, do you have a wal mart, they all carry 100% cotton fabric.
LK
We’re thinking and we will most likely do the Santa swap……….Laura???
MOVE……worst of the 4 letter words!!!!
Jaye I am glad Laura is taking my Treddle machine, I never really figured it out. It is from somewhere in the late 18 to early 1900’s. The one I use all the time is an old early 1900’s electric single stitch…..and I don’t think I could ever let that one go…..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM AND DONNA!!!!
Trisha, that is so cute, made me smile!!!
LK
LK, yes I have acess to 3 Wal-Marts
Sistah's and Brother, just wanted to let you know that I will not be here on Friday. I have to go see my foot Dr. for a follow up, and find out when the next one will be cut on. So be good, and not too chatty, so I can catch up with ya.
LK
We will be thinkin' good thoughts for you (((((hugs))))!
Lucky Laura! An heirloom she'll be proud of, Trisha. With all these sistahs who are sewing enthusiasts, you never know, Laura might be the quilter in your family! Maybe Sage will show an interest in sewing when she gets older.
LK, good luck, sistah.
Cindy, if you're getting fabric from Walmart, get the V.I.P or Cranston labels. They have a higher thread count per sq. inch, so will not shrink too much after so many washes.
Jaye, Thanks for the tip I was thinking the fabric had to be a special kind for making quilts. There is a Joann's here too.
You are lucky to have a Joann's close by. I had to make the pilgrimage to MB to quilt shops there for a bigger selection of quilting materials..........and notions..........and books!! I try to catch the sales.
I hope so, Laura sews quite well when she decides she wants to do something. As for the old sewing machine I figured at least she might use it for what it is intended for instead of someplace to stack things!!!
Trisha, at 6, I learnt on grandma's old hand crank, squatting on a woven mat. Hated those lessons... I was more of a needle threader for her. Then when Mum got her a treadle... she didn't hesitate to show me how once my feet could reach the pedal. There's a certain rhythm to get your sewing going smooth. She sewed all our clothes on it. No bought patterns. She designed, cut and sew right away for all 4 daughters then!!
It wasn't till the late 70's when Mum got her first electric machine. Dad bought her the best, then. A Viking!! There were all these automatic stitch styles and buttonholers that she enjoyed using!
Some third world countries are still using those dependable treadle, and they can go fast!
BTW Trisha, your boy did the job. Lingernot's with Pegi now!
I don't no ware to put this so I thought I send it her e.Thanks so much Sista's this was really great to come home from work and find a Box that said
