Hello sistahs. Got the mammogram done - wasn't too bad as I paid the extra $5 for a mamo-pad to cushion the tray. Really made a difference.

BJ, the fat quarter swap will be fun.

Got home this morning just as the computer tech showed up to do the repairs to my computer that's been down. Needed the power source replaced. He was done and out of here in no time flat. Unfortunately, he didn't bother to hook it up to the internet and I couldn't find the right wire. With two computers, a router, a wireless thingy, a printer, etc. there are wires everywhere down there. DH just got me hooked back up a little while ago. Had intended to open the wreath swap thread - will still do it this evening if alert enough, otherwise it will have to wait until Saturday as I'll gone most of tomorrow.

The strangest thing happened here.
I wanted to test wash a swatch of fabric... to see how it would fray when it was clipped... so, I sandwiched it with flannel, and a different fabric I was curious about too. sewed the edges, clipped the seams. I put a few clothes in the washer with it. I took a good look at it when I put it in the dryer, and it seemed to be fraying fine... when the dryer was finished... I couldn't find it.
I searched every piece of clothing in there.. ran my hands down the legs, sleeves, and shook everything... got on my hands and knees and looked under everything around the laundry area... it just disappeared...
Guess it went where ever all those odd socks go... but it's really driving me nuts.

Well, there's little holes in the back of the dryer that it just wouldn't fit through... and the lint filter in the front, and I checked that...
It's a mystery.

Good morning! Hope all my sistahs and brothah have a great day. I'll be at the medical center for my part-time job most of the day, then the same group of employees and staff is having a 'standardized patient appreciation dinner' this evening. Need to come home and check on Woody in-between so may pop in then.

Bj I have seen it first hand, dryer was acting up and DH pulled it out and took the back off of it, low and behold there were all the missing socks. The dryer DOES eat them up.

Really??? I am missing some of my fave frog socks-just figured the little man in the dryer ate them!!

BJ, Make another swatch, and pin it to some other piece of clothing next time, and see what happens then.

Well, the mystery was solved when Don came home last night. Midnight, and we're poking down in the dryer vent to find that swatch. Don retraced my steps, running his hands down pants legs, shirt sleeves, and then walks over to the chair where I dumped the clothes to fold them... and there it was... camouflaged against the chair. Olive green chair, black swatch, in a dark corner. I just didn't see it there. *sigh* We got to bed around 1:30am. Don hates unsolved mysteries.

as you all know, i'm not afraid to be by myself at nite. well, we looked at a house yesterday that i wouldn't stay alone in during the day! it gave me nitemares. and the man who ows it is just as scary. it has 7 bedrms. and 4 baths. no heat, andno air cond. there was excactly 1 light bulb in the whole house. the rest of the sockets were empty. he had a huge cast iron dutch oven on the stove cooking something i've never smelled before. mike said it washis son that he constantly talked about but was no where to be found.

when you first walked in there was this humungus room with a big ordan and i pew. in the next huge room there was a pulpit, and a chair that a preacher sets in.

now there was no phone, tv. or radio to be found in the house anywhere.

OMG... that does sound spooky...

when we left, we were in such a hurry, we took a wrong turn and got lost! wat a nightmare. bj, i wish i had my camera with me.

Remember Spotty? The killer fish? Well... Don found him DEAD as a doornail this morning... and he's now in mourning for his beloved fish...
Now, that's the same fish that I wanted to flush when he got the new fish for the fish tank... cause he was soooo mean...
Guess Don picked out fish that wouldn't let Spotty bully them around... and they got the best of him... *sigh*... poor Don... Now, who is he going to talk to through the glass?... the other fish are behaving themselves... there's no one else to scold ....

PROMISE, I didn't do anything to that fish... I swear...
