hee hee hee! And I love it!

going to get another cup of coffee and change a dirty diaper but not in that order then back to read ! xoxox
CLEMEN, deary, sweetie... (catch more flies with honey, teehee) We would ALL so enjoy seeing a full frontal pic (LOL) you know what I mean! Okay feeling a bit ornery today, myself.. SO much to catch up on!
Star Loved the bird/cat pic and all the garden mishap stories, it's so much nicer to think about them after everything has healed...
Anjl, glad to hear you are out having fun.. loved the 3 headed guy and grandbaby part and the choc donuts..
Audrey, I think we all get depressed to some degree from time to time... like Debra said she felt like a Noid... I like that term.. I feel like a noid sometimes, too. I'm glad the meds are getting leveled out and we like smiling faces but we understand frowns here too and just know we care about you, hon!
Karen, Donna (french vanilla-one of my top favs), Joyce, Beck, EVERYONE- (phew) Texasgrower.. loved the lights discussion... I hung my lights with little chains, string may rot from humidity - might keep an eye on it..
HOTTIE NOTICE:.............. I spoke with Louise yesterday.... (didn't get a lot of Hottie Thread time-but I got my hottie fix by phone ;) our sweet Nebraska hottie is experiencing computer problems and may be a while to get back online.. told her I'd try to keep her up with our antics by phone till she's back with us. KAREN- PLEASE include her on the ornament exchange and I'll convey to her what you decide to do once it is settled.
Now, Clemencita, pic... please (maybe already have, since it took SO long to catch up and post) I don't mean to leave anyone out of my reply, but our hottie group is growing so much and this thread is getting long....
DID I POST THE H&H RU HOPEFULS ON THIS THREAD?????? I can't seem to find it and I think I need to add another name...... HELP!
Yes momma hen Becky, I will be careful, going to go the allergy site and check the pollen counts before venturing outside. The frost we had the other night only killed the annuals, my perennials were not touched so I’m sure the rag weed lives on. Not to worry I will not over due, but I little bit every day will do me some good.
Bonnie sounds like you got a lot done yesterday, hope it did take the wind out of you for today.
Iris, glad you are back and so wonderful that the cuttings are coming along so nicely. Hope things will work out for your DH.
Donna! So happy you girls had a great visit yesterday... I knew it would last longer than planned, and now Copo is copping a lil attitude... we still love you Copo! so does your mama! :)
Debra sweet Debra! The PURPLE iochroma!!!! YIPPEEEEEEE! I'm just so over-joyed to have you coming up here! I had forgotten about it and it's going to be BETTER than Christmas.....And don't be thinking I'm putting you to work, we are playing and stepping over and around stuff...
my momma came by yesterday, she loaded up on begonia's that were destined to freeze, so that made me happy...she'll have them all trimmed and next spring I'll get to oh and ah at them-she will prolly get them to grow 3 times the size they did for me.. SEE-I get my plant addictions naturally! lol Love my momma! So I'm setting her up for brugfever...hotties, here's my plan: Took her to the basement and she was ohing and ahing over the blooms down there... So, I will present her with Antique Lace or Cassie's Curl's (smaller growing so she can tote it around) some 20-20-20 and a jug of concentrated Recipe for her B-day (May 7th) I'll give it to her with no strings attached... if she doesn't like it, I'll take it back.. ;) I know once she sees growth she'll be hooked and then once she gets blooms, my aunts' and her friends will want some and I'll be enabling all of N.E. Kansas! Don't know WHY I didn't think of this before...DAH!
The ol bod doesn't feel too bad today, I'm getting in gear here shortly.... big girls are coming in... where to, is still to be determined, but I have my Drew home today so I have some muscles here to accomplish what's necessary to may way for their winter spot..
Donna... yeah.. I am a firm believer that you have to get back "out there" as soon as possible after an injury or illness... and I do a lot of that "do as I SAY... not as I do"... cause I am BAD!!..LOL
Bonnie... we missed you yesterday... but glad you talked to weese... been missing her, and glad to know it's just puter trouble...
well...... my bro isn't coming I shouldn't be surprised.. now I have a big pot of chile.. come on down.. we'll eat it together..lol.. He said they will FOR SURE... come next Sunday.. LOL... I won't be holding my breathe cause he's like the lil boy that cried wolf... sometimes I get soo mad, I think I wouldn't even call him if Momma died.. well... I already said I was BAD.. what can I say??? I think I'll still do some spiffing around here though... since Lyle is gone it gives me the perfect opportunity
Bonnie the RU list is not on this thread, the last list is on top of #29 (I think). Please tell Louise we miss her.
Beck, I do a lot of the “do as I say” thing too, just ask my kids. Chile sounds wonderful, what time is dinner. So tell me why is “Spiffing” allowed on this thread and “Housew%^k” is forbidden?
Peeking through for now, hey Bonnie Copo wagged his tail this morning, he is no longer mad at me for visiting Donna, hee hee.
Hi Beckie! Gotta go make lunch now, I'll be back soon!
Good morning All H&Hs. Whew, took me time to catch up. Clem and Donna, that pix was too cute. So glad you got the time to meet.
Donna, I don't know about the word difference, but I know that "H" word will alway get a rise out of someone. Maybe you need to ban "spiffing" too. Anyway, one of those is what I have been busy at, and I slept 18 hours straight last night. Just crashed, so maybe too much is not a good thing.
On the heater issue, we have always used just two plain ole quartz construction lights in our garage to keep the water pipes from freezing. The garage was originally built with a partial kitchen and 1/2 bath in it. So, that is where my plants are. The quartz lights put out heat and I have put two grow bulbs out there in the ceiling fixtures. I have never checked the actual temp it stays, never really cared until this year, but it has always felt toasty in there even with freezing outside. So, my setup is kinda simple. Hopefully, it works, we'll see.
Debra and I got to doing some figuring and we are only a two hour drive from each other. She is my closest Hottie, I think, though some of our Texans are close, too! It is sooo much fun to finally meet! And, it feels like you've known each other forever. :))
Okay, got to get my lazy, sleepy self up and going again. I should really be able to get somethings done after 18 hours of sleep. LOL!! Peg
what about "domestic goddess duties", LOL! Oops, I'm just asking for trouble! Bonnie glad you talked with Louise, I've been missing her. Tell her we all do! Off to finish more yard stuff, cya later!
Oh, Karen, that is too cute! That would be the only time I would qualify for a goddess!! Such a talented mind, thanks for the smile! Peg
Morning all. Just popping in to say hello. Hope your all doing well.
Time for anew room???
Linda Kay
Thanks Peg, glad I made you smile but I can't take credit for that one. Rosanne Barr is famous for doing a whole stand up act on being a domestic goddess when she first started out. It was before the tv show, and was hilarious ^_^
Yer gettin close there, Donna... :) with that H word.. lol I think domestic goddess is good, but it's really the "gods" duties too... I like inside yard work, sounds like more fun.. lol Sure Linda Kay, make us another one.. I'm headed back out to keep working on the tubbed brugs. The big push is on, freezing temps forecast for the next 3 nights.. still have a blueberry bush and my water garden plants to prep an move.. honestly, I'm kinda looking forward to it all being done and getting out my bowling ball and crafting ornaments for our exchange.. (but FIRST and foremost Debra coming to visit) Just wanted to tell you all, if you're like me and don't get out there on the brug forum much, Debra's pretty pic is posted on her thread, and she IS a Hottie!
Ooh, that's pretty Audrey! I have two Native Habitat cuttings rooted and was wondering what color they are. Congratulations!
Wow Audrey, congrats that is going to be so beautiful. She should turn peach in a day or so after opening. Yippy, you are one lucky lady. Hope NHDP is making your day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Peg you have been going and going and going, you needed a break. Glad you got some rest.
Bonnie, I like domestic goddess duties, but inside yard work sounds more like what I do. You know, move it here, stuff it there, and hide it under the bed. I don’t think a goddess would do those things.
OH me... Donna... I don't know..lol... that H..................K word started as a joke... but I have NEVER known any woman that thinks"it's" fun... as far as spiffing... or shining.. I gues that is just another way of getting around using the cuss word..lol... hey.. why are you asking me... I know you have a way better answer than I would!!LOL
Clemmie... don't we wish humans were as forgiving as our "kids" are..
Bonnie... does the fall moving ever end?? I was going to use "cleaning"... NOW I better watch myself more...hehehehehehe Yeah.. I am ready for for cooler weather, just so I can relax more... but I am NOT ready for it to get here just yet!!
Peg... guess you really needed all that extra sleep! OH WOW.. now I bet you and Debra get together soon!! YAY!!
Dana... no job is worth mental cruelty.. here's hoping something changes for him... congrats on the baby roots.. that's almost as exciting as buds and blooms!!
Audey.. I bet she'll turn peach.. I think the brugs start out lighter.. wtg!!
Karen.. I think that is what we need to call it..lol.. domestic goddess duty... even tho I can't quite "see" me looking like a goddess..LOL...Roseann Barr is a lil crazy... right?? used to love to watch her!!
Hello Linda Kay!!
hmmm I gotta go see Debras pic
You "Hotties and Hunks" are too funny! I have spent the last hour enjoying your thread.
Domestic Goddess? Yes that describes me but only when I have to. Never a favorite chore. LOL
I use two of the Oil heaters to heat my GH all winter. One does the job quite well unless it gets in gets below 20 degrees. Then I turn on the second one. I do have a couple of kerosene heaters but only for power outage back up.
Betty
welcome picabo... Betty!! We just love for a lurker to POST!!..lol Now that you know us.. we need to know you!! Nashville is a pretty town, and TN a beautiful state.. just tooooo cold for me..lol.. we have a house in Petersburg,TN ...TY for the info on the heaters.. I am going to be a brand new GH owner..IF we ever get it built, so I am gleaning all the info I can get! Never thought about backup heaters!! TY again!!
{{Betty}} Welcome to the Hottie & Handsomes !! You'll love all the wonderful funny posts and the antics of those Trouble Makers (TMs) on here... I of course am no TM! teehee!
I think I've finaly caught up with you all.... did I miss out on the coffee? slept late this morning and then groceryshopping... I think it was all those giggles last night that wore me out! lol! I do feel much better today, so either the antibiotic is working...or its true what they say "laughter is the best medicine" !!
Moms coming in today, should be here in a few hours....so gotta go make my list of garden chores for her to do :o) teehee!
Thank you Becky, I am one of those non stop people, I love to "Dabble" in everything. I have a BAD case of "Zone Envy" I love all the plants that don't grow in my zone. Brugs and Hoyas are probably my worse weakness in the garden.
When I am not gardening I am an Artist, I love to paint, Watercolor and oil. Sculpture and Pottery are a winter activity (Can't garden have to play in some mud. LOL) I also love to quilt in the winter, something warm to snuggle under while I work on it. LOL
I have two dogs that think they are my children, (Three 2 legged children are grown and spread across the country) I haven't told the dogs that they aren't my children. They both sleep on my pillow, sometimes I get too sleep on it too. DH is retired and home all the time. (That's another story LOL)
Here is a picture that sorta describes my garden. "Wild and Random" LOL
Betty
wow betty you and I have alot in common, well except for the retired DH.... that will be 3 more years :o)
I love the garden picture! beautiful color combinations in there!
Welcome Betty! I've been to Nashville many times, just love it! Shhhhh....Don't let Clemen hear you say "dog"....her baby Copo is her son, hahaha! Just about all of us here have extra "children" that we adore!
Betty, is that Dutchman's pipe in the background of the photo? I wanted some of that but read that it was extremely invasive, rarely bloomed and the blooms were so tiny you can't see them. I LOVE the close up photos I've seen of the blooms.

Clemen,
I have 3 sisters and one ex-boyfriend from my younger years that graduated from Providence College. They all liked their experience there. Hope Andrea does too. Whatever you do, don't let her come out to SDSU in San Diego .... it's a party school.
Mary
Thank you All.
Yes, that is a Dutchmans Pipe (Aristolochia gigantea) in the background. It is not hardy here and does not give me a problem. It grows in pots that I sink in the ground and move into the GH in the Fall. The flowers are pretty, well different, LOL. There are lots of seed pods still hanging on the vine in the garden I am watching to see if they mature. I can send you vines if you want to try to root this one, or seeds if they mature.
I have another one that is hardy here and it is invasive. I think it is called Wooly Pipevine (Aristolochia tomentosa) . It has been easy to keep under control, the "Pipevine cats" love it and will eat almost every leaf in the summer. The Flowers are Tiny, maybe an inch long I have never seen a seed pod.
This is the A.gigantea the flowers are at least 8" long.
Betty
alright anjl with a tail...LOLOL.... at least let Momma catch her breathe before you put her to work!!..lol.. Sometimes it just helps us to feel better by just getting out.. but I know that party last night was a hoot!!
Betty.. wow.. if that is wild and random ... I want a garden just like it!! Do you also keep your brugs in pots or do you sink them in the ground? Sounds like you are another type A personality, and can't sit still..LOL That A.gigantea is really neat!! My DH is also retired. I am 56.. but I say I am "retired" too since I don't work.. that is work for pay! I have always wanted to take classes for oil painting... let's see pics of your work... please??!! BTW... Number 1 Hottie rule..is you can NOT say Housework..lol... ( OK you Hotties.. back off..lol) and our "dogs" are our children.. especially to Clemen!!
Mary.. sooo glad to see you come home again.. it's been awhile... you DO know you put us through a lot of stress and worry when you stay away..LOL
Karen.. you through in the yard?? I have been goddessing off and on all day...hehehehe.. just love it!! Finally brushed my lil Pom... man.. I wish I could make pillows or something with all her hair.. I'd be rich!!
Ooh Betty, I have GOT to get my hands on one of those, the Giant Dutchman's Pipe.....Are the flowers the same exact color only bigger? Is that what you have? Geez...I can see we have another enabler here, LOL! ^_^ Betty you'll fit in here JUST fine!
Hi Betty and welcome to the thread, I love that vine too. I just order seeds for that and one that is a little different. Neither is hardy here either so I don’t think they will be a problem. I hope you will be joining for a while as you can see there is rarely a dull moment here.
Mary, I ask around a lot and got nothing but great reviews on PC. The parents with children that have recently graduated said it is still a wonderful school and has an excellent educational environment.
Becky, YES take an oil painting class!! I did and had a blast! Wish I had time to go back again...but not this year :o( It was also a great way to keep me on a project :o) sometimes I would start a painting, then pack it away and not finish :( but having a studio to go to 2 times a week...where you didnt have to worry about messy or cleaning up.... lol, that helped alot! I think there were 7 paintings I completed in just 16 weeks ..... now if I only had a place to set up a studio around my house.....I might not be such a TM then...teehee!
I must confess I never use the H word, and I am an enabler, later this week I am sending out boxes of cuttings of Brugs, vines, seeds and other homeless things. Anyone interested send me a Dmail and I'll get a list for you. I think the A.gigantea would root, I know the smaller one roots very well.
This is my "Child I call Picabo"
OMG what a perfect pose! teehee!
Sweet lil pup!
Wow, I leave to go attend my brugs and you guys keep going and going and going!!!
Well first welcome Picabo, you finally made it over here! Don't we have fun with the southern ladies?
Mary Thank you about the letting me know about the school. Andrea really loved it and was really excited, I wish she would like URI too, then I could go and see Donna more often, although Providence is just as close to her!
Audrey, what a beauty you have opening, just beautiful!
Hey and the trouble makers, who is the worse one, Becky, Bonnie, Peg Phillys (where r u), Karen you too ok, I read up there talking about it, but well you know the 4 legged son of mine, hee hee, well called COpO! Anj has become one too, lol, I love it.
So today I spent part of the day bringing my brugs to my top deck, problem was that the roots were coming out of the pots and I had to replant them, grrrrrrrrrr, did not like doing that. They are now still outside and waiting until I hear FREEZE, so then they will be inside. I am almost done with that horrible task. Javier was laughing at me today but he is such a great sport, he was more concern that I have 20 brug cuttings and were would they go if they I grow like the ones I have, OMG, this is crazy!
Anyway, I enjoyed my time. Now we are relaxing a little and I promise to catch up on the thread, its been too long since I have not been able to do that.
Have fun all of you and I know I ommited quite a few names but you know that I love each and every single one of you!
I've put up my grow light, and brought in two pots of brugs. I wont have to many, they're just big! They're so full of pods, hope they open!
Aw...lookit little Copo! What a great pic Clemen! Betty I would die and go to heaven if I could get some cuttings of the A.gigantea to root. I "think" it might die to the ground and come back here each year as we don't have real bad weather, but we'll see. I'm in L-O-V-E, hehe! Of course I will pay you for postage ^_^ Edited to add: Picabo is adorable!!!!

Audrey this is hard part it seems like forever for those buds to unfurl. Can’t wait to see them, my NHDP was stripped and put in the basement before it Y ed so I’ll be getting a preview of next season.
Betty Picabo is adorable, what a great pose.
Clemen Copo is always so sweet and happy looking.
Betty.... That is BAD that you are an enabler...lol..... My mind says..NO... I can't , and I don't need another plant.. but my heart says... aww just one more..lol...I bet before the night is out, my fingers will be typing...begging to you! Your baby is sooo precious!! YAY... we will get along just fine!!.. I don't like that H word either!!
Clemmie.. wha??? Did you list me as the 1st TM???? What about yourself.. missy??..LOL... you know I love ya!!... Glad you got the brugs repotted... I need to get some more pots, cause I need to do the same thing with some of mine
Audrey.. you lucky thing you!! I know you are excited to see the blooms! I saw that my monster white kept 2 of the lil okra, so hopefully I'll have blooms, and I noticed today I have a couple more that has finally Y'd!! YAY!!
Good Evening everybody!!!!!! Hope ya all had a good day. Sorry abotu coffee this morning. I was up when ya all was still hiding under the covers, so I just tippy toed out and got to work. Time got away from me and by then coffee was already made.
The cold and frost is coming, so had to tear yself away from the computer and start slinging pots inside. Oh my aching back. Somebody remidn me why I love to play in the dirt and have flowers. The pots were all stil wet from the rain the otherday and seems liek the more ya haul the heavier they got.
Picabo. I may have the wrong person or not, but didn't you post some of yoru artwork on the artist thread forum? Been awhile since I been over there to look but lots of talented folks for sure.
