oh Anjl, I have new borns too from AuntB and from a couple at the RU. They are hanging in there. I know they will be alright in the house over the winter because they won't be four feet tall like Miss Gargantuan who hasn't even Y'd yet. She's my first baby and in a pot. I have thought about putting her in the ground but, I'm afraid she won't develop a deep enough root system to survive hard freezes. I know from my years in Florida that if you water the roots real well before a freeze the water acts as an insulator. My mind tells me it's ok to plant her now but.....I'm weak, there I said it...I'm weak. Just can't do it.
Clemen you do bring in the potted brugs when the temps go below 32 right?
She's About To.............#30
I love New York!...shopping and eating : )
karen i can show you places, but this hottie is crashing! So come on over here, i posted before about the hottie Ru being here and was ignored on #29! it's ok, do one loves me sniff sniff, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh JKJK< going zzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzz love to all! silly me.
nite nite Clemen honey ♥
Ignor you Clemen never!!!!!! I'd be there in a heartbeat : )
welll just a lil longer Clemmie..lol.. do you have to work tomorrow??
Jeanne.. I have only had 1 brug to bloom so I am NOT the expert, but I have heard Bonnie say... IF you bring them in the house they can bloom all winter... in they go doemant... you won't be smelling anything..lol
Ohh pork loin... I love it blackened...yummm
Come on Deb... I take gardening serious too... just look at it that they want to sleep... they are tired.. and now you can use this time to decide what you want to add to your garden next year
Jeanne, hopefully we do not reach 32 degrees this week, i think i am pushing it, but yes they should come in at that time. Luckily my brugs are on a sunny place and near the water, so they get much warmer weather than where i live. I am only hoping they come in by the first week of NOV, just waiting and waiting and watching our crazy weather!
Well the subject may be moot if my SIL gets my greenhouse built the first weekend in Nov. That's where I'm putting my hope for everything. I don't care if she blooms I just want her to live thru the winter.
TU Kim, but yes I was ignored, sniff, I guess noone likes the crazy city, you better let me knwo when you get here again, I am only 30 minutes away! Train or car, isn't great?
OK this time trying to get upstairs, i do not want anyone syainf anything anymore, STAY QUIET
me too. Gotta take my mom to the Dr tomorrow at 8:45. need to let my mind wind down so I can get to sleep. Goodnight all, sweet dreams.
txgrower...how cold does it get there in your area?
OK.. I.m whispering... Clemmie.. we wouldn't ignore you.. silly girl
last couple of winters we had night temps in the 20's and days where we stayed in the 30's. Had snow in March last year and April the year before. We can hit the 30's many nights in Jan and Feb.
g'nite ladies....
clem, I'll come to NY!! but dont wanna go to the city.... I always pictured NY as one huge city in my mind...was pleasantly surprised when DD and I took a train trip thru the state...its BEAUTIFUL!
Anjl, TexasGrower Jeanne lives only 25 miles from me. It rarely gets below freezing here, never snows, occasional ice storms once, sometimes twice a winter. Pretty mild I guess, although it does FEEL cold here.
I will be in NY December 13th : )
wait Karen, it snowed last March I have pics and on the day before Easter the year before. I had many nights in the 20's last winter because I was watching the thermometer on the front porch where I had my plants all nestled in. The last three years I have been here it has been cold.
AWW Kim your sooo lucky!
can i fit in your suitcase? teehee!
wow, I didnt think our zones were that much different.... it mainly stays 30-40's at night in winter. rarely gets down to 20 and teens maybe just a few nights all winter long. guess i'm lucky here!
now at our vacation home in the sierras...4' of snow easy! brrrr! but sledding down the back yard is fun! teehee!
You're right Jeanne! I guess my weather perception or memory isn't so hot. It does get cold here...
I think its been colder here the last three years too...global freezing? teehee!
Kimmie you better see me, zz to all and sending hugs!
well I noticed because coming from south Florida it never snows and 70 feels cold. :)
Well, it's time for me to hit the hay, Dr.s appt. early in the morning. Clemen don't cry, we will have a Hottie get together in NY one day..(can only dream what capers the hotties could get into there!) Nitey nite, Love you all! {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}
Ok I gotta go sleep now.......Have fun chattin' Hotties!!!!
ZZzzzzzzzz........
Nite all you earlybirds!!
where's Bonnie??
I was thinking the same thing! Really going upstairs now>>>>>>>> cya!
Oh, darn, I just get the computer and settled for night and everyone goes to bed.....so lonely....LOL
I have pics if I can get this darm camera working.
So when you all wake up you will have something pretty to look at besides snow, frost, or rain. It has poured here all day and night!
i'm still here! teehee... on ca time...only 9pm here now! i think i'm good for at least an hour :o)
Do not adjust your monitor or your eyes!
It may be late or early depending on how your are looking at it, but sorry for the blurry picture, but this darn camera isn't working very well. I have spent days trying to fix it but have given up and decided to post anyway. Look what a really nice Hottie Phyllis sent me. A new tropical. It is really cool it is a Croton "Superstar". The colors are just amazing and I am so sorry about the picture. This one is totally different from the ones I have seen. What are really nice thing to do. Tag says high indirect light, so it is staying on the bar between the kitchen and the living room, a place of honor.
Again, Phyllis what a sweet thing to do.
Anjl, this is going to be an odd question, but our prime time shows on TV start at 7 my time which would be 6 your time, so does your prime time start then? I am not a huge tv watcher, more so in the winter, but 6 would be awful early to start watching tv....
Is your fever down at all? Waiting around for a doctor to call would be enough to wear you out....
ohhhhs thats purty!
Thank you Debra, I thought it was awful nice and really pretty.
Where is Derby?
GoodMorning Hotties and Handsomes.. guess I am way early.. dreamt of brug blooms all night.. it is cold here.. Happ: Derby is 8 miles south of Wichita, on K15....
Morning all H & H’s
Debra you are up early, good morning.
I can only dream about those temps ya’ll are posting. Winter here in the NE is cold; we have weeks and weeks of temps 0-15 with lots of snow and ice. When the temps go above 40 during the day it is spring and time to start the garden. I’m thinking we better consider temps when we plan the RU, the southern and south western hotties are not going to want to go outside in March in the North. My guess would be you don’t own the cloths for that kind of weather, and would turn into popsicles. Clemen NY sound great to me but it would have to be later in the season. Can’t wait until Saturday, going to check maps of the campus today.
Joyce that plant is precious, Phyllis what a nice thing to do. Anjl hope things turn out okay and it is nothing major. Kim NYC in December, oh how wonderful for you, it will be so pretty there with the lights and so much fun shopping. Peg did you get your DH all packed and ready, how long is he going to be away? Beck hope you get a day to stay home and lounge around soon, some rest would be good for you. Karen can you post the dates for the Christmas swap again and give us an idea of how many hotties are on the list. I need to start thinking about what I’m going to do. Jeanne so nice your getting a GH too, another lucky hottie. Ester the Tex Mex sounds fantastic, I had it when I was in San Antonio and it was great. Bonnie and Lousie did you hotties take the night off, I fell asleep watching a movie around 9. I guess the little I did yesterday did me in.
Good Morning Hottie & Handsomes! We still have handsomes?? :) I was busy doin' some covert Hottie stuff last night..;) wanted to get on and chat, but just laid there like a "wet noodle" lol, I thought about ya'll tho.... zzz on the love seat, got up at 11:30, didn't feel well, couldn't get to sleep in my bunk and went back to the love seat for a bit... finally was able to go back to bed and sleep. I'll never address you all by name, (gotta get to work on time today), Clemen, you know we didn't ignore you on the NY Hottie RU idea, it's just that there are more hotties this way than up north.. I AM so envious of you and Donna! waaaaaaaaaaaa I wanna meet you BOTH! sniff sniff... but my consolation is that you BOTH do get to meet in person.. I have some d-mails waiting for reply, so hang tight, hotties, I'll reply at work... big training session for the new phone system at 10:30.. Big boys didn't want to take instruction from me, so they had the phone people call me to schedule the training, I'm just the secatary, ... (DA's) lol -figure it out... I gotta run, I missed ya'll last night, but maybe all this hauling, etc is finally getting to me... I think I AM wonder woman, but guess I need to realize, an over 50 wonder woman does have some limitations... :) I mean I did have to turn in the Barbie shaped Wonder Woman costume, years ago ;) Ya'll have a great day, DEBRA- chin up hon, we have our itty bitty Ru next week, it's helping me make it through this rainy cool (almost cold) period..
Joyce, love the croton Phyllis sent, I've had them some die on me, but this is what I found in the basement after bringing it in a few weeks ago...
Morning everybody! Are ya rising and shining yet? Been up for hours but too lazy to come out from under a nice warm toaster bed to the morning chill in the air. Passing round cups of fresh hot coffee
(__)< for everybody. Got plenty of cream and sugar if ya need it, nothign fancy just the regular stuff.
Not saying the bad word, but finally finished doing it. Well all but washign the walls, Figure they wil be hid by plants , so maybe I can put that chore off til spring. Got all the dirt and stuff and everything all out and evrything all nice and shiny so that I can start bringing more of it back in. : )
I am tryign to figure out where am I gonan but the couple of brugs sticks I did get. They not all that tall right now, but wil they grow in the house or still go dormant. What I wouldn't give for a basement.
Hope everybody has a good day. Rain and cold headed this way, so gotta haul plants around and find and make some hoop houses for others.

Oh wow. I miss seeing snow , but glad I not in it. Makes my bones rattle to much.
Good morning everyone. Hello JIm, nice to see you posting again. We were all wondering where you went to. I got your brug cuttings a few days ago, and your payment for postage went out. You should have it in a day or two.
Are the blue rose of sharon/hibiscus a true blue, or are the more on the lavender side. I am looking a for a true blue one.
Let me know please.
Thanks
Linda Kay
