Thank goodness the winds have stopped Cindy. Hummm, what scents are you expecting?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Marion... I've got up enough courage to make a WHOLE quilt now... using the rag quilt process. My youngest son told me yesterday that if he had company, he wouldn't have a quilt for them to cover with... so, that's what he's getting for Christmas. AND it's a good way to use up all this cotton fabric I've got hoarded. However, I did find only 3 coordinating fabrics in my stash, and I need to pick up about 2 more different prints today... not bad.

Depending on how it goes on this one, I might make Don's son one for Christmas too... seems like a good design for a single guy, and I don't think he thinks to buy things like that for himself.

But first, I need to run some errands... bank and post office was closed yesterday for Columbus day... so, need to go do that first.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... that's so funny Marion...
My g'daughters were soo scared of Wizard of Oz at that age... gave them both nightmares...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

My new scents for candles:
Cinnamon Spice and Everything Nice
Harvest Spice & Apple
Sugar Cookie & Clove
Vanilla Creme Mint
Tangerine Twister
Creme de Cardamom
Spiced Gumdrop
Orange Pomander
Rosemary
Hot Fudge Brownie
Pecan Pie
Chocolate Raspberry Roll
Maple Pecan
Vanilla Velvet

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my Cindy, sounds mouth watering!!!! All those delicious items made into candles?

BJ, this is a huge change as they both wanted to be mermaids at first. This is certainly more doable!!! Scraps? Tell me what colors and sizes you are looking for and I might just be able to add some if you would like. I have an over abundance of them.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

What is all this talk about a rag quilt? Where is the thread that tells you how to do one? Show me, teach me, I want to do one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Point me in the right direction, pretty please.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

oh I'll do my best to get them in line ...rofl

will give ya details when I get home or after lunch hour here LOL

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Deborah.... if you google "rag quilt"... there's lots of instructions out there... and, hey... if I can make one, I guarantee, anybody can make one...

Marion... I already got what I needed at Walmart this morning... but thank you so much dear.
This one is going to be navy, brown, white, and copper... I am horrible at coordinating color combinations, so I just took one print from my stash... and matched all the other prints to the colors in that one. Instead of using batting or flannel, I'm using some denim I already have. It's a soft, prewashed denim... and I have tons of 4" wide rolls of it... I think it was ends from where a factory made jeans out of it. Bought it in a garage sale for $1 years ago... and didn't know what to do with it... now I do.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

BJ, was the picture Debra posted of the one her daughter raffled off for the animal benefit a rag quilt? Do you have a picture of one you made? Marion, do you have a picture? anyone online today have a picture?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes... that was a rag quilt that Debra made for her daughter's raffle.
I don't have a pic of a rag quilt I made... this will be my first quilt.. but here's a pic of a rag purse I made ... pretty much the same concept, but bigger.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

This may solve some gift issues I was having. Thank you BJ. You got instructions on your purse you can share or point me to the link?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

good afternoon everyone.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Deborah, been cleaning closet and took a break. No I don't have a picture and have not made a rag quilt so far. However, it has been added to my "Bucket List" now after seeing Debra and BJ's bags and now the rag quilt. I honestly don't think they are that hard and I have no doubts in my mind you could do one!!! If you can sew a line then you can do it.

Was it BJ who suggested googling rag quilt. Probably a good idea and as a matter of fact, I think I will do it also.

How you doing today?

BJ, no problem, just had a huge bag and thought if I could help then I would send. Huymmmm, maybe Deborah needs some scraps!!!

Hello sistahs! Deborah, those above are the links for rag quilting. Have fun!
Happy birthday niece!! Happy happy week!!

My 'net is slow to respond, and getting quite frustrated with the service. Oh well, please don't you all worry--- I'm doing fine healthwise, and no Marion, I didn't eat Kel's lemon j/beans. Think there's still half a jar left in mine :D

So sorry you're not up to par Laura. Hope you feel better soon.

BJ, I'm also offering you any color schemes I may have that you need. Starting on a quilt too myself. Christmas is close by, and this year, there's this neighbour's little girl that should be getting a home made quilt. Urrrgggghhhh... pinks... oh well!!

Phyllis I have some giant EEs that I'd like to turn into playgrounds for my gnomes. What do I do?

Waving to LK and Sis.
Cindy, you're tempting me with Orange Pomander!
Hi Janice, Trisha, and Bon...........and anyone I've missed.
Love you all!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Jaye, so glad to see you post. I am the worry wart I guess. Glad to hear you are going easy on the jelly beans. I would not want to cause a problem by sending those!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Have to keep wishing Stacey a Happy Birthday (week) or I'll forget!!!!!!!!!

BJ glad you got a good nights sleep....I've gotten enough sleep but all between fip flopin' all night.....DH sleeps through anything, but the dog gave up and went to her bed!

Marion, the froffie is up there guarding a cup of coffee for you!

Cindy glad you can get outside now.....have a spot of sun here and I got a little bit of weeding done, not nearly enough, before my back started giving me too much trouble. Antonio found a full time job so guess I am going to have to look for new help before the weeds take over completely.

I can smell the candles from here....I love them!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OOOO... can you take a pic of baby donnie? I wanna see !!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LOL, Auntie Em right now has just about all she can handle on her plate. My Mom and sister are insisting I stay longer when I go down there but do need to come home. DD will be gone for 5 days and someone has to take care of the 4 legged critters here. Son and his family will be gone also.

Maybe after all the comings and goings I can sneak a weekend up that way.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my!! A kitty aunt also? LOL

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Send me some scraps, Marion!

Jaye, you are going to get pastel sick to your stomach making a pink quilt. ROFLOL

Cindy, I haven't read all this thread, but where did you find large portions of cloves for your orange pomander balls?

Janice, is it too cold to send your hostas and Stacey's daylilies? I can get them out this week or next depending on your weather. It's too cold for WA, so I'm holding off on Trishas and Lauras until spring. Just let me know. We are having 80* weather now through next week with night temps in the 60's.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Any particular colors?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

BTW Jaye... I did buy one of those June Tailor Shape Cutter guides today at Walmart.
Just tried it out... and oh, my what a difference it makes... thank you for your insight on them.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Puhleezz Deborah, saleslady couldn't understand WHY I cringed along the pink rack!!!
Then Kel says that Emerson (little lady's name) needs some pink polka dots in the mix!!
Someone save me from PINKH**L!!!
Deborah, are you doing your rag quilt with cotton, flannels or jean materials?
