Gorgeous photos! Shelly and Debi ~ you have transported my soul to a calmer place. Thanks to you both!

Love the lightening bolt, Shelly, and the lake pic, Debi.

The shots with lots of trees make me think of mosaics.

Are you really camping in a caboose? Where in WVa.? I went to college in Buckhannon many moons ago. Some beautiful country down there.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks Jan. Durbin, W. Virginia. We've been doing this for years now, used to in Kane PA, til a tornado took the bridge out and the RR went out of business.
The last 2 years we did one also in WV, and this year is new. We ride in the caboose on an excursion train, then they drop off the caboose, and pick it up the next day when the train comes back for the next ride. We usually only do 1-2 nights. Really cool, and unique.

Sounds awesome. Could you give me a link to info. about it?

Here you are Jan.

These shots were from Cass scenic RR last year - they now leave the caboose at the top of the mountain, and you ride the train to get there. So, we found a new one this year - half the fun is riding on the caboose.
The caboose was overlooking the valley, which was filled with fog the next morning - also very cool.
Sorry for the sidetrack of the thread.

Thanks Celeste! I actually entered that last year. It is the same view as the one above it.
You still have lots of lovely blooms.

Celeste how can you possibly still have blooms? The frost here took everything.

Last - my crape out front. Seems to glow even more on an overcast day.

I know what you mean, Victor. It is overcast and raining here, yet I catch myself thinking I see a patch of sunshine when it's just a brilliantly-clad tree.

Pixie, I love the Lamium picture.

Victor, you're right about the Sarah's favorite crape. It's a beautiful shade of orange. How much sun do you have it in and how tall is it supposed to be? In my "full sun" are things have to be limited in height due to powerlines. They are a little higher than some, but since I'm out in the country they mean business in keeping things at least 50' from their lines in width and 20' away in height. I really like the picture taken through the window with the focus outside, that's cool.

debilu, that caboose and the other pictures are neat.
