Awww.... new chicky... Kathy's a chickie mommie again !!!! Yeah....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning!!
Lol.. I looked like the hamster Saturday! Stuffed myself with those mussels..and paid heavily for it.

Ha! You're finally working niece? Don't over do it. That brain of yours is used to focusing on just co-ops and swaps, remember?

BJ, I love everything you made for Sis. You made her Christmas comes early.

Congratulations Commodore Kathy upon your new cadet! Welcome to the world Cindy. You'll be one spoilt chickee.

Debra, you have the quilt fever! Lots of quilting books can be bought also on www.alibris.com if you don't mind used ones.

God bless you too Bon ^_^
Bon, I hope it will be good news for Randall. And I still have more irises to plant. Don't think I'll finish planting by the end of the week. Hope it won't be an early frost.. am enjoying this weather too much!

Phyllis, no rolls? Marion, Cindy, you both okay this morning?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sis, you are never suppose to eat mussels or clams in months with an r in them

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sis, these are imported, already cooked, New Zealand mussels.
They must have included a bad one :((

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I'm here Jaye.. I slept in this morning don't know why went to bed before 9. Maybe it's all the stress leaving my body, knowing that I qualified for disability I've been able to make plans for my future. I'm now looking forward to Christmas this year.

Kathy, why is the chicks name Cindy? When I first met Rick I told him I was going to call him Dude, because I can not say my R's very well, so he nicknamed me "Chicky".

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

cindy was named after 2 special people in my life. she is special cuz i had to help her hatch

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's good excitement that's keeping you awake Cindy. Dependable income at last. Glad for you Cindy.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I don't believe this!! I am having trouble today ladies--either Dave's connection or not sure as it says I have a good connection to the internet. Oh well.

Morning all, I have been up putting the finishing touches on "Perfection". Yeap, Jaye, you read that correctly, "Perfection" is drying so should be going into it's packlng materials soon for a trip to your house!! What? Bring the smelling salts, Jaye just fainted I think!

BJ, how are the fish this morning? Any belly up or should I say that? Don over do it outside today!!

Debra, how far did you get sewing your rag purse? I dreamed rag purses last night! Guess I am definitely going to have to get caught up so I can try one!!!

BTW, don't tell Debra one quilting book leads to another , and another!! Shees! We don't want her to know it is addictive--do we?

Morning Cindy, I thought you might still be soaking in the hot tub.

Did I miss Phyllis? Oh Phyllis, calling Phyllis, Morning.

Bon, it is time to just slow down!!! Sit down and visit awhile-you are making me feel lazy. Hope the doc visit goes well.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I/_ Help me I can't get up!!
Marion, are you serious?? Should I camp at the post office? No.. can't do that.. no anxieties.. no anxieties..
Oh yeah, mail it out next week. Make it perfect, perfect, perfect.

Marion, are'nt we glad that Debra will have it easy with all the great books, and especially no maths skills needed!!! Remember when we have to sit down and figure everything out.. strip pieces were used only for log cabins.. and those templates... urrrghhh!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

No hot tub the couple of days water is murky. Need to empty out and start over. Rick can't get it to clear up and I think the new fragrance stuff we put in has something to do with it. Finishing my buddies birdfeeder, so I can get it out today. Then starting some Halloween stuff.

The Recipe Box swap is open....Come on ladies you know you need a new box.....

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

cindy is dry and drank a teaspoon of sugar water

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Awww... he looks just like his daddy... don't he?
But, he's surely going to get a complex with a name like Cindy... !!!

Well, the fence section is moved... whew... been wanting that done for over a year... NOW, we can mark flower beds for the secret garden.... one step at a time.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

awwww I want one LOL...DH would kill me though if I brought home more animals LOL

I'm here was running late this morning so didn't have a chance to pop on and say mornin

having rolls every morning will give us rolls in places we don't want them ya know ...hahahahahaha

stopped off at a house on the way home that had rose bushes 3 for $10 had to stop and get a few to add into the rose garden have to work lil by lil on it so when next spring gets here IF Shelly plans on her wedding taking place here it looks part way decent

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

No rolls? Hummm are you implying some of us are getting more "love" handles than needed? Well, I guess you could be right! Any "love" handles around here aren't needed. ;-(

Good for you BJ. Fence all moved and now more work to be done!! I keep looking for an area to put a secret garden but so far no luck. It will come to me one of these days.

Sure missing Deborah. Wish she would hurry and get that son moved in so she could come visit with us. Deborah, I miss you dear!!!!

Jaye, are you okay? I knew it would come as a big shock but I just had to tell you the wait is almost over!! No damage when you hit the floor was there? To you I mean!! That wasn't vey well put was it?
Don't we know it about the stripping and those horrible templates made of plastic or if you were pinching pennies like we were--old gallon milk jugs!! Funny thing--I still sit down and figure yardage every now and then. Of course, we will keep it very, very quiet what she is about to venture into.

Kathy, Cindy is really pretty! Is this going to be your version of Johnny Cash's "A Boy named Sue?" "A Rooster named Cindy?" Poor thing!!!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh Debra...Phyllis, quilting is much more fun after rotary cutters! Less time on preparing, more piecing time. When we had to use templates, I struggle in cutting "inside" the pencil lines. Think I went through a lot of seam rippers those days..

Don't have a secret garden, yet. Unless you can consider the big patch of disorganized beds behind the house as one. Marion, have you started on your lasagna beds yet?

A rooster named Cindy!! So, we are all going through an indentity crisis one time or another............AND he's a cute little fella! Mama Kathy.. you got a lot of explaining to do when it's time for Cindy to meet a Henrietta!! Lolol!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

hahaha Marion hadn't' even thought of love handles as the word ...and I know me only being 48 is young to some and my weight is not a huge issue for me but when I go to put on clothes that fit fine in the spring before school got out and they are too small or snug that is a problem I can't afford to go buy a new wardrobe LOL...but too much starchy stuff and sweets is not good for ones health either and I do believe it is out of Love I said it to start with :-)

Jaye I made my pattern for my quilt squares out of paper then cut around them

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Phyllis, there's even a pattern call TV Guide!! Just use the TV Guide as your pattern for the next quilt!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my yes Jaye, I started it about 2 months ago. Early I know but when most are doing them I get really busy so I just started early. So far, so good. I already have oodles of earthworms so things seem to be breaking down fairly fast. I hope that is a good thing. Some of them are so big I think they are snakes but no only earthworms. Need some?

Oh my, I had forgot about cutting inside the pencil lines!! Never could get that right. In fact that is the way we did it the very first quilting class I took. That class was an adventure for sure--have just had gall bladder surgery (yeap, surgery no bandaid deally) 2 weeks prior and a very good friend had signed my up not knowing I had had the surgery. I went but let me tell you that first class was an ordeal. My friend had been visiting in Canada and didn't know until she called to tell me she had signed me up when she signed up.

OMG Phyllis, you are a baby for sure. So I am old!! Who cares and I do really try to watch my weight!! Mostly get larger, larger and just joking. I do have a problem as I did gain quite abit when my husband died but slowly it is coming off!! Like Jaye, I prefer "patio dresses" to wear unless working in the yard. Actually cooler in the house!!

Jaye, clue me in TV guide quilt? Explain more--rather dense!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, this is the link. EZ for anyone. Just use the TV Guide as a template.
http://members.aol.com/neadods/patch/tvg.htm

And if you go down below the page, on the left and click on "Back to Patchwork Patch" you'll find one pattern that I used often for my scraps, and that's Pioneer Braids.

Took my first class in sunny, 365 days summer, Singapore. A land where no quilts are required! Had a Swedish teacher and the class was made up of white expatriates and only 2 Asians. How could I have had the foresight that I might one day move here and be needing quilts? Now I wonder if that other Asian is somewhere in some cold country.
Gosh, we have so many quilt artists and authors now. I still like Jinny Beyer. Remember Georgia Bonesteel and her lap quilts? That's one I'd recommend for sewing machines without much throat area.

"Age is a mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Jaye, your Pioneer Braid is a pretty pattern. I like the Cathedral Window, too. Yikes! That Ultimate Scrap Quilt makes me dizzy!

Kathy, how do you know Cindy is a rooster?

I bought my first rotary cutters last year. What a difference!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I've never attempted Cathedral Window or any dimensional patterns, that require folding or too much manipulation. Maybe Marion can recall there was a quilting tv. personality that tried selling the folding method for pineapple quilts too. That was interesting. Since she used folded fabric, there was no need for a backing.
Hope you bought the biggest size, Debra.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Biggest size what?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Rotary cutter, my dear... :D

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I can't wait to get a new recipe box-mine is grody-had it since B4 I moved out of my mom's and it has stuff gucked all over it-ewww....

So maybe I will get lucky and my 2009 buddy will be a wuilter and I will end up with a rag purse-hey Jaye-you think??

If you have missed the debate-Kathy thinks Cindy is a girl and BJ thinks it is a boy and they have bet some zinnia seeds on it-I don't know what to call it-I think I am more confuddled than Cindy is;)

BJ-I LOVE that picture!! Looks like me when I have PMS!!LOL JK-It does resemble DH at thinksgiving though-he always has cheeks bulging full mouth!!LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You never know, Stacey! Might be one of us quilters that's your secret buddy!
It really does look like Wally doesn't it. In the even if it's a rooster, will we call him Mr. Cindy?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I think Kathy needs to change the spelling of Chickie Cindy, it should be splet Cindee

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh my.. Cindy, you are notoriously a chick too!
I wouldn't mind if she calls it Jaye. It would be fun. ^_^

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

It's just funny to read everyone talking about Cindy, and I keep forgetting there is a baby chick named Cindy. I tell ya my CRS is really bad. Multitasking gets me confuddles sometimes, baking cookies, finishing birdfeeder, doing laundry......

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... been multitasking all day today.
Started out to get the beds tilled up in the secret garden, ended up moving a fence, and working the bed next to the house. Then Don decided to fix the electric wiring that was laying on the ground there by the previous owners... so, while he was doing that he decided that we needed 3 new sprinkler heads in there... I'm running back and forth to the hardware store, and cooking supper... then, a friend of his called and said he and his wife are going to stop by tomorrow... so, I had to fly in here and clean house... finished 2 clay projects so I could get all four of them baked... and now, we're about to sit down to eat... I'm bushed... and we still didn't get the beds tilled up.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

BJ, you are one BUSY lady, pass some of that energy this way.......

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

no kidding!! I need some:)

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I have to muster up the energy when Don's home... 'specially when I need his help with something... then when he's not home, I get real lazy.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yep here to on the weekends, that's the only time I can get Rick to do anything. Mid week he usually ask me what needs to be done. If there is nothing then he plans a fishing trip.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

We could sooooo be neighbors... girlfriend...
Sure you don't want to buy this house by me?

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

BJ, would it fit into a flat rate envelope? LOL!

Jaye, I bought two of them. I've been using the smaller one and haven't used the biggest one yet.

Marion, I got the Razorback fabric cut for the two rag purses! Haven't cut the batting yet but will do that in the morning. Probably wise not to use a rotary cutter after having my glass of wine with dinner!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

What's it look like? How big is it? Acreage?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

They're asking way too much, and I think they'll be talked down a lot.
Here's the realtor's page on that house...
I know it needs some work, but with some sprucing up, it could be sooo cute.
