Mother Cactus. There are no spent blooms as is now present on the cactus patch spawned from her.

Rita, can't help on the id, but you have some beauties blooming. Do you have your cashmere bouquet in the ground or in a pot?

Red Oak, TX

phughes, thanks, the cashmere bouquet are growing in the ground, this is the second time to bloom this year.

Do you have a problem with them sending lots of underground runners? I heard they do that so I've kept mine in a pot, but I think it would bloom a lot better if I put it in the ground. I do love the blooms. Do you have it in part or full sun?

Red Oak, TX

phughes, Yes they do send out runners, but they are easy to pull. I do have them in part shade.

Thanks for the advice, Sheila. It looks like a cat was able to survive with some of those milkweed bugs gone.

Bananna, yes it's the first bloom on this one. It's a named DL that I got from Mamjack last fall, but the tag was blown away with another's tag. I'll have to ask her which one it is.

I was wondering when a DL is marked "late bloomer" how late it might be.Must be a nice surprise for the fall.
