Jaye what's the difference between non faceted and faceted cabochons? I just cut and pasted that word from googling. Dont have a clue what it means.
Kim says:
The dragonfly is Louis Comfort Tiffany's signature bug. I want one sooo bad.
Grover Washington Jr, you mean that tape beside Kim's lamp? You are definiately an angel, Jaye. I knew it all along. There's absolutely no way you got eyes good enough to read the name on that tape.
Janice, you most difinately made the right choice on getting those panels glass stained. Really adds a touch of elagance to a kitchen and yours really pops out with your cabinets. I love it! I wish one of my cabinet doors would fall off and split. I'd love to replace one with a stained glass door. sigh.
Marion, yes, please teach me to sew!
Ok, Marion, send them to me. I promise not to look.
Jaye, DH and DSS have been watching the game but I was busy with dinner. Looks like a tight game. LSU always plays exciting games. I'll be rooting for you this time - but not when they play the Hogs.
Better be signing off tonight, sistahs. It's been fun chatting with you all today. You just don't know how I wish you were all close enough to get together. Can you imagine all of us together over dinner, a little wine, a lot of laughing, some tears, some hugs, some life-long friendships made. Sweet dreams.
Good classes at the beach for anything I want to learn. But it's a 1 and a half hour's drive!!
Phyllis, love your SG!
the difference between non faceted and faceted cabochons is faceted ones look like a stone that is cut like say your diamond ring how it is cut to give you the sparkle non faceted ones are smooth all around it

Deborah, when we can work it out I will more than happy to teach you to sew. Be warned it can become addictive also!!!
Debra, okay they will be coming, need to find my list again.
Well I am signing off for the night. Back and legs are hurting so I think I will go stretch them out so they can rest.
Take care and until tomorrow.......
Deborah anything is possible... I know mines is Tiffany style lol!!! Jaye is our angel and just gave me some ideas ; } Janice those doors are lovely!

Deborah.. easy... facet is cutting the stone like like diamonds that have multi sides..hence multi faceted
Cabochons... smooth side. Round or oval, but smooth.
Thanks Debra, will return that favor when it's the Razorbacks play.. did they play today? Got to check..
Phyllis, what craft don't you know??? I'd love to see you turn wood into bowls.
Me and angel... no no no Deb and Kim :P
Learning to sew is a wonderful thing. There are so many things you can do! Baby quilt, curtains, mending anything, making all sorts of crafts....I could go on and on. You can purchase very inexpensive sewing machines (and expensive ones, too), ones you can carry around with you.
BUT BEWARE! it is addictive as H... No only material but patterns, too.
I found material the other day that I feel in love with, had to have, and now I have to figure out what to do with it.
I can't knit , blow glass, fuse glass, have not done metal work, jewelry, am not real good at drawing or painting pictures,
as for the wood bowls here's the picture of what I did with the wood using a tree trimmer saw LOL but want the chain saw I posted the link for back several threads ago so I could try to really make bowls LOL
I like having something to do LOL that turns into something useful or brings joy to someone else *S*
Janice you are so right I used to make all my girls dresses, Halloween costumes, made bridesmaid dresses for some friends weddings , made alot of craft stuff and my home back in IL before we moved the valances I made for the living and dining rooms

I would like to sew window treatments...
I can sew---when I want to. I do crochet. That's about it.
Like Janice, I'm a cloth addict too.
Thanks to BJ, she encourages me to find other uses for my hot glue gun!!!!
Lolol!!
HIGH 5s LSU LSU LSU!!!
mmm not good to get me talking and thinking on stained glass and then I think about ceramics and go looking online to find places wear by for supplies and find a ceramic place over by BJ with molds and kilns for sale along with another ceramic shop for sale for only 3000....and a glass place in Athens going out of business ......*sigh* the If Only I had the money and a building thoughts LOL
My mil used to do ceramics. She has a Duncan kiln which she hasn't used for 15 years. Don't know anything about ceramics.. but I sure would like to use it to melt glass.
Hmmm... I'm surprised you found anything over here by me online... we're not exactly in the "thick" of things out here.
I have kiln in the basement I want to slump and fuse glass..I need to get a breaker box and a few other things like $$$$ lol!!
One of us better come into big money. We all could use new toys!!!
Oh I would love to learn to fuse and slump glass too but of course both of you are too far away for me to visit and learn together LOL
Yeah BJ you keepin secrets from us as to crafty places near you???? LOL
The only place I know that has crafts around here is Walmart... and they suck...
What do you know?
No novels this week, I’m lucky to just catch up, I have 4 min. before Orion’s mom is supposed to show up to pick him up, which means I’m back to grandma’s. That’s why you’re getting this paragraph, I don’t have enough time to read anything else. I don’t think I’ll even be home till Monday, and Monday night/Tuesday is when we’re celebrating our anniversary, officially Sept. 23, two years if anyone wants to know. It might be mid. Oct. before I catch up. I also just scanned to get caught up on here, sorry if I missed anything.
Stacey, pajamas, you know those things you put on to be decent when you don’t actually want to get dressed :o)
I might be a closet nudist, but I’ve never had the chance to find out, kids and room mates kinda put a damper on that type thing.
I have a toilet closet in my bedroom, but I just leave the door open so I don’t get claustrophobic.
Yuck, sorry to hear about the allergic reaction, hope you’re over it.
Debra, I wish my dining room was that clean and organized. I had it cleared of everything but craft stuff last week, but I’ve been gone for several days and the mail, etc… is sneaking back in.
I think toilet closets are designed so you can do your business while your significant other is in the tub, but that’s the only idea I could come up with. It would make more sense to me to have a bath tub room, with door, and a separate toilet room (1/2 bath). Not a bathroom with a room inside.
Oh… there is some really cute fabric on that site.
Phyllis, I like the bowls a lot.
BJ, if I need anything special, forget Walmart! I have to make that hour long drive to the beach!
Well Laura, for your anniversary, ask your mum kindly to babysit Sage for a few hours, and you can be a nudist.
Yea... me too... any REAL craft supplies and I have to go to Mesquite... about an hour here too. And I really hate to drive in the big city.
On to a new room Sistahs..
Bon, Laura, Trisha.. new room.. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/905254/
Phyllis, is that an IRIS??????? oh, I'm in love!
waving good night. I'm caught up on the emails from folks wanting my convertible for nothing. oh, well. Got home earlier from Mom's birthday party. She's 81, and still fun to be around. we had hummingbird cake!
nighty night sweet ladies. see ya in the morning
What a bunch of night owls for sure. All lazy heads this morning I guess.
Phyllis I love the vase!!! Want to show at our festival? I know the vendor person really well and might be able to find you a good location!!! ROFLOL
Kim, just jump right in and you can make valances! They aren't all that hard, just take it step at a time!! Of course, that is not to say I haven't messed up a few ?, several? well okay alots!! Mainly because I keep changing my mind about what I want as I sew!! Bad, bad habit!!
This is truly one diversified, talented group of ladies. Hummmm, maybe we should plan a week at each other house and do a crafty learning thing. Just thinking out loud. I have already volunteered to teach Deborah to sew so come on other what you say?
Marion, go to the next room and see my kind of sewing!
Marion those are the only 2 pieces I have made so far with the wood
really need the proper tools to do it but bills come first LOL
I would love to say sure thing I'll be over for a spot but wtih only 2 I don't think it would be worth it for ya.
ya think just a week would be enough to teach things??? LOL
Nope but a week would be a start--well maybe not, when we finished all the talking, laughing and giggling we might need more like a month.
Shucks, I was gonna find a prime spot for sure. It really is nice work. We get several people who do wood turnings but I use the term loosely with some of them. Could be why they don't come back--things just aren't up to the standards of one of our vendors.
