TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning sistahs and niece!!
Debra you're a hoot!! Now I can't let Kel see this, if not he'll be one smug puppy!! I keep telling him that he's human, not one of our furry critters that's forced to tinker outside! Noooo.. to him it's one way to get in touch with his "arr.. grrff" (a la the Tool Time man) inner man!!
And so, you do quilt!! Mine is stacked with books, half finished crafts and 3 cats!!
Where's that coffee...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Mine did look like that til I got my crafting corner!!

My DH yells at me when I walk around in my bra and undies in the daylight-I try to tell him that when it is darker inside then out, you can't see in from 500' away which is the closest veiw any neighbor would have!!LOL
Love the tub!! Our last project will be to extend the master bedroom and bath-our closet is in between the 2 right now and I want to have the closet someplace else and extend the bath out into the existing closet-put 2 vanities in w/ a tub in between and add a window above the tub and have a walk out shower:)

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

It sounds like our DH's would get along as well as we all do:)

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Men ...... when it comes to peeing in the woods ...... they're all the same!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lolol!!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Wouldn't it be nice!! For us we have to squat, pry it goes straight so we don't get it all over us, then find a leaf-pray it isn't poison ivy or we are in trouble, then still just not feeling "quite right" til we go home:( Ahh-the easiness of an outie not an innie!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yep, I had to squat a couple of times too, believe me, at my age, the knees were not co-operating!!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I can never get it to go straight and end up having to jump in a river or something afterwards!!LOL My pee does NOT cooperate with me;)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

9 hours to the BIG game!! LSU @ Auburn.
Boy, that is some serious rivalry :D
Sorry sistahs.. I have to do this!! Geaaaaaaaaaaaaauuxxxxxxxx LSU Tigers!!!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

that is actually how I taught grand son to potty train. I let him pee outside, now him and Pa pa have a fight over who pees on which tree. Well helps to keep the unwanted critters away from my yard and chickens.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hmm... maybe I could send Kel to the woods to do that. There are coyotes out there.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL-you think if I let DH pee on our dfence it would keep rabbits awway??

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ROFLMAO..thinking about the move failure to launch after they get the son out of the house and the dad takes his old room adn makes it his nude room ......
too funny but so true of men and mine is right there with the rest outside even in broad day light.

It's such fun when hunting and have all the gear on for it to have to climb down the tree and find a hidden spot away from your tree stand to dig a small hole, squat and remember to have kleenex with you when in the woods....small hole is so you don't leave a spot the deer can smell LOL

Love the tub and window and as for a dining room we don't have one here so I fill up the back room or the counter top in the kitchen LOL

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

ROTFL! That's too funny, Tia Tina.

Years ago I rented a community plot and had a large veggie garden that was being invaded by a herd of deer. I had DH pee into jars so I could carry it out there. Even had him go out and pee around the entire peramiter. Nothing worked. You did get me to thinking, though. The deer will not allow my verbenas to grow more than 2 ft tall. I should have DH pee around them. That would require he walked to the far end of the house from the garage .... nope ..... he'd rather stand on the concrete and pee from there. Phoey

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

DH says will keep the deer away but probably not he rabbits LMAO

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Well crap-there goes that idea:(

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Hey give it a try anyway ya never know LOL

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Based on my veggie garden experiment - it doesn't keep the deer away either. Neither does human hair, soap, perfume, plastic bags hung from string, helium balloons ..... I tried it all. I created a thread about that story if you want to read it. I think the same thread tells the story of the bumble bee in my pants. It was pretty funny. (but not at the time)
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/610577/

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

"Well crap-there goes that idea:("

I guess you could try that too. (oh, I'm bad)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

So did you get any llama poop??? :O

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

hahahaha no your just being honest
back in Illinois like I said above when hunting in the woods you had to find a spot away from your stand and dig a small hole as they would not come near it or your stand if they smelled anything human.

Raleigh, NC

Morning Glory! OH MY but it's AUTUMN out there today!

LOL LOL LOL Debra, 7500 SF house, and our business failed due to dot.com crash/Internet bubble burst wiped out our clients six weeks after moving in! Was still putting together the custom furniture orders when the bottom fell out - never decorated. Had been looking for a bigger home for years, have access to the MLS. Our former home was too small immediately, and then we had a baby!

When we had a urgent business reason to entertain in style at home, Randall insisted I find something. Was looking for traditional. One day Randall asks, "what exactly is transitional?" There was a transitional being built in my favorite new home neighborhood, so we went over and snuck in. It has a 2700SF daylight basement. DH adores basements - he bought that house for that basement. 3500SF more house than I'd planned!!!! oooh - having all that space was divine....

until I realized I couldn't keep up with it. Started working two jobs, then 3 jobs. No one was monitoring the kids and pets - they did a lot of damage - I saw their rooms maybe on weekends! That's too much house. no $$ money for maids. I wanted to sell, Randall was certain he could turn it around. By the time he admitted defeated, the main employer for that neighborhood had folded and every other home was for sale at great losses. Slowly went broke on the mortgage. Closed the sale 2 weeks shy of foreclosure, four years ago.

Incredibly beautiful house inside. Business failure didn't do us in financially. That house did. It is such a relief to get the albatross off our shoulders. I miss the space, the beauty, the light. ADORE not seeing it undecorated and dirty.

I drove by and was horrified last month. It was undeveloped forest land behind it, office zoned. supposed to be a buffer though- it's been clearcut - they didnt leave enough trees - now ya look off that fancy entertaining deck into multi storied office buildings and oh Randall would hate that. He had to go by and see for himself. He came away pleased to be gone. I wouldn't be able to live with that noise!

Guess the Good Lord let us stay long enough to get royally tired of being there, so we wouldn't miss it much, and graced us with being gone when some of the things we liked most changed radically. Can you imagine not wanting to garden because you were only going to lose it? For five years? it seemed like everything I did plant there died. All my 100s of transplanted irises got swept away 8 weeks after planting by a massive Tstorm spawned by Hurricane Flloyd. As pretty as it was, that house just seemed to jinx us.

and now my novelet is done. mea culpa for it's lenght.

As ugly and broken as it is, this place is home and it feels right. I can let my crew be as messy as they want and I don't have to care. we are getting out from under financially. Martha Stewart has never lived at my house, and living in a house where she should be was never comfortable.

O.k. Here is the rest of my master bathroom. LOVE my bathtub. the shower is too the left behind the door It's a very small, but has 2 sinks so that works for me.

The hot tub sits on the deck behind the lattis. We were talking about moving the wine barrel pond over in the right corner, then having it flow into the new pond.

well girls I am of till later am going into town to met up wtih a fellow DGer to give him sassafras trees then DD called and wants to hit the ceramic shop so I'll be back later have fun be good (haha) have a great day

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Phyllis.. I want a sassafras tree! Have a good day!!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Phyllis, men just don't understand what it's like to have three layers of clothing on, including a one piece camo jumpsuit, and need to pee. Not fun.

Geesh, Bon, 7500 sq ft! That's huge. Did you have to use your cell phones to find each other? lol! Seriously, I'm sorry you had to go through losing a business and tough financial times. I'm afraid there may be a lot more of that going on in the near future. It's getting scary out there.

Our house feels big because it has high ceilings and is one level. There aren't any extra rooms but the ones we have are roomy. I think it's around 2800 sq feet which is plenty for us. We designed it with an open floor plan for entertaining on a very casual level. No formal dinners here - it's usually grilling or something along those lines. Our builder, who happens to be our closest neighbor, is building a 33,000 sq ft home for a client who owns a string of banks. Who in the world needs 33,000 sq ft???? It's obscene what is being spent on the imported slate tiles for the drive which will park 120 cars. Almost a million dollars! just for the driveway. I'd just like to have a little asphalt on ours instead of the gravel we have now. lol!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my sides ache!!! I recalled all the eposodes of hubby and the "watering" of the yard--then a son!!!! One night he went out to yell at our dogs in the very back of our lot and got locked out!! Wouldn't you know it, the neighbors came home!! Still laugh when I think about it!!

Phyllis, I really like the idea of the picture quilt. Want to take it a step further? Would any others. I think it would be wonderful to have a DG's friends quilt/lap throw. Let have some thinking here!!!

Bon, sometimes things happen for a reason and although I know it was rough for all, you seem to have come through a better person. I think we all benefit from our trials!!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Cindy, we cross posted. That looks very relaxing. Bet the water flowing from the barrel into the lower pond will be beautiful and provide a nice sound, too.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Great idea Marion!! That will be just ideal! There are around 24 of us.. and we could do 24 squares and just send 23 out.
That will be a neat project for sistahs, next year!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

OOO-I want a ceramic shop with fat Xmas things!!

The quilt idea is neat, just don't know about the printing of pics on fabric and all that-I can send fabric and find one of them markers and sign my name though...

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Jaye I'll see about finding some more to dig and pot up ..they are picky about being transplanted so let me see if I can get some to grow in a pot and if so then you bet you will get one....I have 2 pots now for the Ru on the 11th that I"m not sure if they will make it but there is plenty growing around here to keep tryin.

Marion I'm game just have to take a recent photo of myself LOL
Next year???? have to start now so everyone can find a good picture to use ...find the iron on transfer stuff and materiel that reflects you and I bet for those that don't do sewing someone else could do ti for them.

ok now for real I am off to town LOL

Well, since we're showing our bathrooms... I want you to see ours...
It took us a year and a half to do this bath... had to extend our house out by 4' to accomodate the tub and add a closet in the bedroom because the closet used to be in the bathroom but we had to knock it out. I think this is the best room we've done in our remodeling this old house.

BJ-it is lovely!!! I love the architechtural detail above the toidy!!

The one thing I hate-when we were looking for houses, so many newer ones had the poop room and I HATE that!! I have no desire to feel cramped while doing my business;)
