Tina, are you ready for me to send you a box of something or do you want to wait for your bed? I hope I didn't miss anyone. I'll scroll back up and check y'all out in just a minute. I'm getting some coffee, hear the pot whistleing./

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I love the daylily Deb-I don't have any shade left for the hosta though:( I have like 3 spots left in shade that are reserved for 3 heuchera from my next co-op:( Too much durned sun here!!

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Okey dokey, then. You got the daylily coming.

Staceypoo's Majesty Hosta is now up for grabs.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I have beds ready for bulbs and cuttings and things that are rooted. Just gotta wait on seeds until I can keep the chickens contained. Darndest thing they love to eat the seeds.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Tina, I have a fishing pond with catfish and bass. Is yours a fancy Koi or a redneck pond like mine?

OMG the coffee pt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BBL

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Ok I have to ponds, one that has channel cats in, that is our fishing pond. And then my fishless gold fish pond pic below of this one.

Good morning sistahs.
So, y'all take turns in catching the bug? Please, I hope I won't catch it, just by looking at the monitor. It's bad enough I'm suffering from sinus now. Anyone knows of a homeopathic remedy for sinusitus?
Thanks for the offer Deborah and BJ. I'm canna rich as well, sort of! Got those tall red President, Richard Wallace, Jhivago, Autumn Gold, Glauca Panache and Aida. But they don't multiply as fast as BJ's, Very poor soil here.
You are so kind Deb, to share some treasures with us. Just send me the catfish :D
I have these 2 in pots last year. They're in the ground this year and taller than our 6 ft. fence. Still don't have my camera at present, just to give you an idea how stately these giant EEs are.
Yep, we've been missing you Stacey, fairy farts and all. Debra (Fleursdefouquet) must be busy.. hope that's what it is.
Robin, we hope that's ALL the damages you have.
Got to do detail the kitchen and the floor.. have a fantastic Wednesday!

WOW that baby is HUGE

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I'll take the Hosta

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

That's why EEs make great birdbaths

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Hmmmmmmmmmmm I would love to see this when it is done.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Jaye,

Use a steam inhalation made from aromatic oils such as eucalyptus or pine, and gently massage the bridge of your nose.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Wasn't sure I was on the right thread there for a moment. Sounded more like Plant Swappers Anonymous!! Geez, I do wish I had beds ready as I would love a hosta. Still getting things cleaned out from Fay's droppings!!

Tinky, so sorry you had a rough day yesterday. It can be bummers can't it.

BJ good to hear you are better. I am going full tilt again so let's hope it stays that way. So much to do, so little time.

Morning all and have a fantastic day!!!!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I have 3 hostas going that I planted this past spring they are now starting to spread. So next year i can share. I really hope I can keep them in the ground. i will mulch the heck out of them.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

mmm catfish...yummy....LOL

Deb have you tried using like a milk carton cut in half with starter soil in it then do the root hormone put it in the dirt then water then slide it inside a plastic bag and tie it shut with a twisty?
that way it keeps the moisture in and you don't have to worry about watering as much just check ti from time to time.

and whats this about making a birdbath wtih an EE leave????
I want to take big leaves and make stepping stones with them but have to get some big leaves...saw some on my bus route but I am never out in that area other then on the bus and would have to ask the owner permission for some LOL

but I so do want to know how to do it and a bird bath would be super in my yard

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Phyllis... next year... in the summer... you come to my house and we'll take the jet skis out and get all the big leaf EEs you want... they grow wild all around the shore line of the lake here. I found a mother load on a property that looks abandoned, and I think I can find that patch again.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my BJ will that offer be good for the get together?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the tip Cindy. Been having this for a month now.. and it raises my blood pressure to 159 a couple days ago at the doctor's office. He had already increased my bp dosage, and I told him sinus had been affecting my bp. Sometimes the room dances on me!! Lolol!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Of course... we're eat up with wild EEs here... huge leaves, but kinda plain jane green ones.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OH my goodness... Jaye... Please take it easy till you feel better...

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ooooooooooooooo next summer?????? no now LOL
...I love jet skis we had a blast on them when we would go to the Ozarks wtih my folks on vacation

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... it's getting a bit cool to be splashing in the lake now... but, if we get a warm day ... then, ok... Come on.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

do ya have a fishing boat? I can row too LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lolol... how about a sailing boat. One main mast and 2 side jibs will do!!
Phyllis... you are something!!!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Jaye, Do you take vitamin C, B complex, zinc and iron? These help if you have food allergies.

Phyllis, I will dmail you with the info on birdbath as soon as I find my book.

BJ - by the way, I LOVE calling you that! my maiden name is Bonita Jones - BJ I've been called many times -

I would love a Richard Wallace canna - mine from the coop didn't make it, they didn't arrive in good shape. And the giant red sounds good, too. can I send you the postage? I don't know if I have any irises left yet to trade.

who wants to know what EE's are? that's short for Elephant Ears! But they are really Colocasias and Alocasias - see, I'm learning stuff at PDN!! Colocasias can withstand more shade, most are a bit hardier, and the "ears" leaves hang down. Alocasias really demand full sun hereabouts, look very similar, but the leaves shoot straight up, and not many are hardy here in zone 7. EE is also short for Electrical Engineer (like my dad) but that's another forum.....

next year I will probably have a lot of 'Illustris' Colocasias from PDN, if anyone is interested. And I have a lovely, now getting quite large clump of 'Ruffles' Colocasia from PDN.

oh oh - the painted fern I rescued from the compost pile-headed truck a month ago at PDN was crisp brown the next day - it's coming back from the roots!

my headache is keeping me home from PDN for now - who has the brother in radiation? Go check out, right now, Lomalinda - I'm not sure if that's the right spelling. it's really pricey, you have to go stay there during treatments, and docs have to approve you for the program. mom and dad were there 3 months, but they were helped to find an apartment cheaply. Their programs' recovery rates are AWESOME. Dad had prostrate cancer, in the hospital when I was pregnant with Ruth Jean. 10 years later, he had cancer in his bowels. they are the best, and dad had good insurance. He came back a changed man - has his energy back, what 5 years ago? they have wonderful support groups through Lomalinda - it's in CA somewheres. can't remember if it's church supported or what, it's the BEST. Highly specialized, least invasive - they built a mold of dad's body, which he had to lay in so the radiation was pinpoint accurate and not broad beam.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Phyllis, dear... no fishing boat... sorry. Just a pontoon boat and the jet skis...
We can't get the pontoon close enough to the edge to get to the EEs... so, we'll have to use the Jet Skis...

I don't row. It's not fun anymore when you have to work that hard.

Bon, I got you down for the cannas too.

Oh yeah sail boat is great I had one my folks gave me for my 16th bd but it was a small one ...think sears or penny's carried ti ,....sea snark but it went in the sale before we moved had no way to get it here and no idea I would be near a lake...it was a heavy duty Styrofoam type ...but it sure could haul...@$$ when ya caught the wind just right LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good gracious! All so chatty agin this morning, and swapping plants as well. Deborah, if you have any brugs left, I would love some. I will send you postage when you tell me how much. Do you take pay pal, or check???
Ladies have a good day. I can't be here too much, it is back on the recliner for me.

Warning ugly picture. Look at your own risk.

Bon, thanks for the edumecation on EEs. The label for my EE was Portadora when we got them, but someone from DG, a EE hybridizer claimed it was mislabelled. PDN has some beauties.. but I Kel got to sacrifice his lemon pies if I were to get from them! Their catalogues are to die for!!
The tip too on Lomalinda, I'd store it in my medical folder.

Sorry you got to go through this, LK, but you'll soon be able to walk without pain.

I can't think straight.. think I'll just be silent for a while...

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Sorry to hear that the hosta is already taken, Deb. I was going to have you send it to Stacey when you sent the daylily and then get it from her. I have three sides of my house in shade and am always looking for new things to put in those beds. Brunnillia (sp), hostas, ferns all do well but my astillbe have just never looked the way they do in the pictures. They don't die but they don't get any bigger nor are the blooms thick.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ladies may I have your attention please!!!!
Look at what I got from Stacey today. We were all talking about those soft socks just yesterday I believe, and look what shows up in the mail!!!!
So soft, and so pretty!!!
Stacey, thank you so much! It looks like someone made it by hand.
I love it so much!
Thank you from the bottom of my very sore foot!!!!

Janice, I'll put another Hosta in Stacey's box for you. She wasn't looking after her maw-inlaw was she? LOL. Astilbes take a ton of water to do well. In fact, they'll grow well in a bog. Do you have any water chrystals to put in their planting hole? That might help. I'm sending you a d-mail in a few minutes.

Linda Kay, Stacey cheated by testing you with that conversation about fluffy socks. I've got dibs on that she had that kind of sock planned before your surgery.LOL

Raleigh, NC

hot dog - you just annswered why only some of my astilbes do well!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Am I too late to get in on free plants?

I'd love some more brug cuttings. I am very happy to say that the brug that looked so near death was starting to stand up yesterday and drum roll please....HAS TWO BUDS ON IT!!! My very first. I don't have any double or triples and I'd like to try those if anyone can share (You out there, Jaye?????)

I'd also like to be in on the cannas, even though they aren't hardy here, I'm going to try to overwinter the one that I have.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

No, you're not late honey pie. LOL Joyce, Jaye's the frilly fancy Bruggie. I only have singles but I did notice you have Mountain Magic on your want list. Yeah, I been snoopin' for some time now. I'll get that to you when I start to cut them down and also an assortment of canna rhizones. I'll send you a d-mail before i mail them so you can be expecting the box and ask you a question about some of your other wants.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yes Joyce.. I read you fine sistah :D
So happy for you. Like we say, those brugs are hardy. Except for the European ones.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Deborah, any ole time roses from your garden??
Hybrids don't do well here.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Lawd have mercy yes! Now tell me how to get them out of the ground! Do cuttings work?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Joey is sending me some, but I have this yearn to plant ole time roses all over!!
I got two from SCLDM from MidSouth, and she rooted the cuttings. They have tiny little pink flowers and are sooo adorable!

If you moist one end of the cuttings.. that would work, I think. Not a rosarian here. Ex sent me some fig cuttings, moist on one end, and they rooted for me.
