God made grapes, and hops, and oats and rye and yeast and sugar! Jesus drank wine. If it's good enough for them, I'll drink to that!

When Kathy and the other sistahs told me about drinking pickle juice for cramps, I drank it in a stemmed wine glass and held my pinky finger up. It was good. Should have put an olive in it.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

yes you should have LOL but good girl on puttin the pinky up very polite drinker there...good manners ....LOL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

....and to think I sent Lingernot to Jaye with martini's floating around? He got into enough trouble here his last night. Of course and outsider slipped in and created the problem.

I am so happy to hear Joey is back home. No matter what there is to face, it is easier in your own home for sure. To bad we are all scatted or we would one really big helping party for our sistahs.

Bj you did good today. I mainly finished up some things I had left dangling before leaving for Canada. Constuctive day to a point.

BTW I got my box from Kathy and oh my what goodies I found inside: My red hat and boa! Love that red and purple!!!

Bloody Mary sounds great but may be along time before I get another one.....I hope! The DH drinks way to much and we have all be nagging at him...from 1/2 a fifth of Scotch every night for I don't know how long then all of a sudden he hasn't had a drink for 5 days now....we've done this before but maybe it stick this time......I'll gladly give em all up if it will keep him off the bottle!!!!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

OOHHH more beautiful ladyybugs!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

And some more goodies were in the box: a mini sewing box with all kinds of goodies including the neatest nail file. I had one a few years ago and lost it so who ever put that box together thank you, thank you so much. Best nail file I have every had for sure!!!

Well, I don't drink like I used to. I used to go out partying every Fri & Sat night, started when I was 18, the night I turn 21 bar tender asked me for my ID lol the manager just about %$#@ green apples, all that time he thought I was over 21.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Can you believe it there is still more: our sistah's shirt from Kathy Jo. The one I missed getting over Labor Day when I had the trip come up to Canada. Can't wait to wear it!!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

I totally understand Trish with the step son I am hoping my putting the vodka bottle that was in his closet on his dresser got the point through that we know he hasn't stopped drinking

I casually mentioned tonight when Dh and I were talking about his work shoes he got and hoping he can stay away from the booze to keep this job I tossed out when he buys squirt or cranberry juice it is to use as a mixer ..Dh said what? and I re-stated that he uses those to mix his drinks
so no drinking here other then DH and coffee, OJ, milk, water and sodas

LOVELY GIFTS ..can see you are in heaven for sure tonight *S*

That is pretty, Marion and nice to put a face with the name. I gotta tell you, you are nothing like I pictured you, although you always kept saying you were a blond I pictured you with brown hair.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

My first husband was a alcoholic, sometime we went without milk and bread just so he could have his cheap beer. He would write a $20 at the bar everyday and drink it all. Beer then was only $1.50

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Cindy, that is funny! Now I am very curious as to how you pictured me--tell me please!! Yeap blonde but gray certainly taking over! I've earned it for sure. Did realize I posted the one with eyes closed thought we had deleted that one. Oh well what can I say.

Actually there is more in the box: a mini sewing box all kinds of neat things including a glass nail file!! I don't know who sent that box but thank you very much...I lost my glass file a few years back and have been looking for another one. I love them--they are the best ones I have ever used for sure.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Some more goodies: A Mickey Mouse ladybug whirly gig from Linda Kay. Will assemble it tomorrow but to dark to go out tonight for pictures.

Really cool Marion... I'm so glad you got the box from Kathy... what nice gifts you got...
Now, wonder who sent the mystery gifts?

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Nice booty ya got there Marion!!!!!

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Bonnie, I get severe leg cramps from staying outside in the garden too long from dehydration. Cute quote there! Your quote would be perfect for a crafter's craft room! Hummm....

I'm hungry now Phyllis. You can cook up some great down home meals for your family.

Ladybug, Marion, you've got a wonderful surprise of packages today. I can her you smiling. Poor Kim.LOL Tell her I love her.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ok I keep getting kicked off for some reason so before it happens again I will say niters girls sleep well everyone see ya tomorrow sometime

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I wish they would identify themselves as I love everything so much. Thanks so much everyone for making my birthday fun again. This is the first time I have really acknowledged it since 2001 when it was so aburptly taken away from all of us born on that day!!

The last box was from Jaye and Kel. Clever Jaye picked up on the fact I collect Jim Shore things from one of the pictures I had posted. Some of my cats were in the background. Sneaky lady and extremely observant to boot!! It is a wonderful angel titled "Sisters"

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well hello Kim the exotic!! Miss seeing you around lately. Yeap, I made out like a bandit but love it all so very much. Your ladybugs are gently swaying on the upper deck and they are so nice sounding at night!!

I will tell her Deborah. She is up to her limit right now with failure reports and contacting parents. Not her favorite chore for sure!! Are you getting use to this idea of being a Granny? Wahoo what fun.

Raleigh, NC

Trish, I feel with you for your step son. Ex was a drinker and refused to admit there was a problem. A big factor in my leaving him, but no one would listen. ten year later, they listened, because he plead guilty to domestic violence in his 2nd marriage, got forced by a judge into a combo of programs for substance abuse and anger management. He could really hold his liquor so most folks could not tell. I found out later that within six months of our son's going to live with his dad at age 14, our son had attempted suicide and then developed a drinking problem. Alcohol is not a problem. Abuse of alcohol is very much so.

Randall is a recovered alcoholic. Living with him is easy. Living with an alcoholic is a nightmare, no matter how old.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Phyllis, nite nite. Your step son is my prayers.

Bon, glad you got out of a bad living situation with your ex. Good for you!

Marion, on those unidentified boxes, look really good on the vendor stickers. They may have been shipped directly from an online purchase so the persons name may be on there too. I don't know that for sure. I'm curious too...Ok, mystery sistahs wake up and tell us!
Oh the stickon ladybug jewels! Can they go on a t-shirt? How cute! Everything is just wonderful. I'm so tickled you are tickled.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Deborah, yes they can be put on a t shirt! Aren't they wonderful!! I am so spoiled and will never be able to thank everyone enough for all their kindness.

There were things in the box from Kathy that I don't know who sent also. The other mystery is the ladybug optical mouse.

I read your dmail and will check tags tomorrow and let you know what I have. Off to bed, I now have a headache for some odd reason--maybe not enough water today.

Good night all.

Raleigh, NC

Hallelujah! The Lord is Good!

DS has for two years stored his messed up Ford Aerostar at our house. He's finally decided - after Randall says he'll have it towed - to sell. He came over this afternoon and used my computer and our phone to check into automotive scrap dealers - he accepted an offer of $185 less the title costs - the value of the scrap metal - I said - WHOA! that motor works, boy! Momma (me) drove him to work then got home and got busy on her computer. Put up a Craigslist ad and he's had 10 offers while he was at work - he even raised the asking price!!!! - it's sold - he got $275 and they're going to pay to change the title.

YIPPEE I'm gonna see my iris garden behind the darn thing!

.................uh oh - there's so many weeds back there!!!

Bedtime
