mm well that all Depends on how much everyone laughs LOL
why the chili joke is so funny to hubby and I, we HAVE judged chili before. OMG I am just like that guy.
WAY TOO MUCH!!!!! LOL
Tia, Tina... just don't ask me to resuscitate you.. I may blow you up--that's how much I love chilli.. the hotter the better!
No pun intended Phyllis? Lol!!
Has anybody heard from Stacey?
Just this morning Cindy. Haven't heard from Debra neither (Fleursdefouquet) for a couple days now. Must be the weather...
Well, I dmailed Stacey to let her know I got the Iris' we wanted Yippee my first co -op and my first bundh of Iris'. It was stressful waiting for to send my order at the right time in order to get what I wanted. Then there were some who complained because 6 people were 1 minute early.
I didn't get very many that I wanted, but I picked up a bunch of iris - like I need more - for potting and sharing. spent $$ I shouldnt have, as I am out of space and not feeling up to getting them in the ground. But these bargains were awesome.
I bought from the Iris coop the last two years and they are awesome. But my plant budget is at zero, so I refrained. I was tempted though, Bonnie. I have to admit that. But then I got to thinking about eating over the winter months which might force me to dig up those rhizones, add an onion and make some soup.
Yep, considering they go anywheres from $7 -$12. There's an Iris' farm not too far from me and I've never been there, but about 15 years ago my mom and dad went, dad paid $7.00 a piece. I can not find them on my mom's property at all. Just makes me sick there was one that was the most beautiful bronze and purple.
Well, come next summer we could swap with each other.
I ordered some from Springhill paid $38.00 for 12. Need to get them planted Friday.
Tempted to get more, but happy with what I got from Bon.
You ladies have really made me feel better, these jokes were so funny, everyone in the house thinks I'm off my rocker sitting in here laughing as loud as I was.
I needed this especially after the phone call I got 30 minutes ago. My brother underwent surgery back in August for prostate cancer. His check up and tests showed they didn't get all the cancer. Now he has to go through radiation treatments for the next 6-8 weeks.
When it rains it pours.
Jaye I took a walk about right after the phone call to clear my head and get back to a better frame of mind and as I walked past the VO I took a double take, on it is 6 buds. Plus it Y'd again. I love it and you. Thank you
Robin, I am so sorry about your brother.. but chin up sistah, those doctors can perform wonders, with His help.
Well, whaddayaknow.. you were just wondering when VO would bud, and lo and behold.. something for you to look forward to!
We draw our strength from the strangest places, why not here.
We will certainly hold you and your family in our prayers.
Love you too!!! ((((Robin)))
Oh Robyn, I certainly hold you and your brother in my thoughts and prayers. Chin up lady!!!
Well I will just have to buy stock (I think if the jokes keep coming it might be a good investment) in Depends for sure now. I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time and it really felt good!!! I kept thinking of Tinky when I was reading the chili jokes! I know shame on me.
Robyn, Texas sized prayers coming your way for your Brother. I know the radiation will work!
Good nite everyone.
Linda Kay
Sending prayers for you and your brother Robyn.
Kim
BJ, sorry you're under the weather! Just rest and drink plenty of clear liquids.
I never gave my chicks egg, but I was told to give eggyolk to my parakeet and cockatiel, but they wouldn't eat it!
I've enjoyed all the jokes so much! Laughter IS the best medicine!
Robyn, praying for great results for your brother!
Feeling a bit better... but I sure hope I can sleep tonight... that's all I've done today...
Robyn, Yep, when it rains it pours... add my thoughts and prayers to your list too...
Ok, I read the jokes, and now I have to go change... AGAIN... sheesh...
Too funny ladies...
I do hope you're able to go to sleep soon, BJ. Read a bad book.. drink you something soothing... hit that bottle!!!!
Well, I'm heading for the pillow.. catch you all tomorrow.
Rainbow dreams my sistahs.
I hope you can get some sleep and feel much better in the morning BJ. Nite Jaye
Bj, what you got, some kind of bug? A cold, the flu, allergies? Have you been to the doctor or are you doctoring on yourself?
Nite Jaye, Hey there Kim!
Deborah, I'm guessing just a 24hr thing... I'm feeling better, and tomorrow will be fine.
Where has Fairy1004 been today?
Robyn, I hope they get it all this time. Your brother is in my prayers.
BJ, hope you are feeling better tomorrow. Let us know.
Robyn, I missed your post. I've been in an out today but mostly on late tonight. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother needing more treatment. He'll be in my prayers.
Robin a friend of ours went through the same thing about two years ago.....he is doing just great now. Keep a positive attitude and let him know that all of our prayers are with him.
BJ glad you are feeling better, hope you get some good sleep tonight...sweet dreams.
I somehow managed to miss most of today, I even made it to the new room without reading stuff. I skipped to new but had no clue what people were talking about. I was thinking it had been too quiet. Then I realized I had two hours of reading to catch up on. Stacey does seem to be MIA, I hope all is well.
Phyllis, I do back up on CD, I also keep my old laptop solely as a back-up drive for my photos. I just hadn’t considered fire, just computer melt down and damaged CDs. So I’ll back it up on CDs and send them over to Mom’s. Maybe me and DB should back up and trade. We both went on the UK trip, but we don’t have copies of each other’s photos.
Kathy, Yeah! I’m glad you have a healthy one.
You can send me fairy farts. My garden soil is so poor I’ll take anything that doesn’t smell too bad.
Deborah, I have to do a budget tomorrow and see if we can squeeze some money out for me and DH to do something for our anniversary. If not we might just take the night to ourselves and have a “make-up” anniversary later. I really hope we can come up with something though.
We’ve just barely kept from drowning in debt, but it’s hard when you’re down as far as you are willing to go and still not making your bills. Of course our biggest “expense” is that I don’t work outside the house so I can stay home with Sage, and we’re to the point that we might have to change that too.
Jaye, I try really hard to find that thin line between being a disciplinarian and being a likeable mother. I know I fail sometimes, but don’t all parents, and I do try to learn from my mistakes.
I’m so sorry your childhood was so hard. I occasionally feel guilty that for all we moved etc… I had a good childhood and a great family. I’ve heard so many stories from others that have made me appreciate my family and upbringing, but I know that all I can do to appease my guilt is to be the best parent I can.
Jaye/Mom, I think that wanting attention might be part of it, but it’s so hard to put out extra attention when you’re around someone 24/7. I do hug her, tuck her in, play with her, talk to her, but I can’t do it all the time. I think if that is the problem, and if it’s not based in her early childhood, the problem is that she views the amount of love I give her as the standard and then wants more some days, when I just don’t have the energy to kick it up a notch.
Bon, well I don’t have to worry about pulling my money out of the bank, because I don’t have any in the bank, but I am seriously worried about our economy. I can see some dark days ahead of us, and I don’t think it would be stupid to take money out of the bank. You might also look at putting it into metals or something like that, which won’t be hit as hard by our economy having the bottom drop out. What little savings we have is in silver.
General, I wish I’d know you could root Rosemary in water before I put it in the ground. I have a dear friend, actually my DH’s best man at our wedding, who is going through a nasty divorce, after a nasty marriage, nastier than he knew before they separated. I was up at the house he’s trying to sell and he gave me a bit of rosemary when we were leaving. I decided to try to get it to root. It’s still green but last time I checked, no roots. I don’t want to bather it too much, but I want to see it turn into a plant so I can give it back; an old part of his life growing in new soil. It would be so much easier if I could just look at it and see if it had roots yet without disturbing it.
BTW, does anyone know if Pineapple sage can be rooted in water?
Robyn, I hope the insurance will pay for it, I’ll pray for you.
BJ, that’s why I keep word open and just hop over there as I read to add things to my reply, which might also be why I end up writing novels.
Tia, that is too funny! The joke is funny too, but when I saw that we were putting up jokes I went and found that one and was just waiting to get caught up to post it.
Jaye, OMG… “We don't want to end up being labeled as the Sistahs that Depend on Depends” that’s the one that had me closest to needing depends.
Robyn your brother is in my prayers!!
Laura I have so many Cd's I have burned wtih stuff I wnated to hang on to I seriously need to get them organized or make new ones and have things put together instead of mix matched things like tubes one on instead of mixed in with saved programs or pictures LOL.
I"m not sure on rooting sage in water I guess I would try taking a cutting dipping it in root hormone then stick in starter dirt and keep it moist and do the same wtih rosemary .
Ok Laura, so you are using Word to summarize your catch-up readings. All this time I thought you had the memory of an elephant. Always look forward to reading your "novel". Find paragraphs that I missed then have to go on a thread hunt to back track to some conversations I missed. Our sistahs are fast at changing topics for sure. That's why Jaye calls this "Sweet Interuptions". Ain't she so smart coming up with that title?
Phyllis, taking cuttings, other than water rooting easy plants, is something I just can't seem to get the hang of. My problem is failing to mist the cuttings along the way. I do have an aquarium of a sandy loam I use but not much success rooting cuttings. My best ones have been sedums and milkweed plants. Most plants croak though. I did buy a timer for my water hose. Now I've got to figure out how to rig an over-head mister.
Stacey had abad day at work yesterday, then got some food from Taco Bell and it made her sick, so she went home and went to bed. Talked her just a little whaile go.
OK-wow you all were busy and you missed me-isn't that sweet;)
Here is the thing--I don't mind fairy farts if there is enough to spread in my garden-I have granular bird poop that I sprinkle in my veggie bed....
Robyn-OMG-such a rough day for you-I am sorry....
Love the stories and the omelet and bread recipe-I need to go back through the threads and copy and paste those and print them all out...
I was not well ysterday-I had probably the worst day at work that I have ever had, then came home and got Taco Bell on the way home. Not sure if it was the fact that i was so upset, the fact that I hadn't eaten in 11 hrs, or the food, but I was sick all night-slept off and on, got up at 8:30, had some cereal, took a shower and went to bed...
OK-so my funny story in a few mins;)
Morning folks...
Can't believe I slept all night, after sleeping most of the day away yesterday. I should be all rested up, for sure...
I'm all well now, 'cept for a little indigestion. So, guess it was just a little bug, or something I ate that didn't agree with me.
So, today, I'm going to mow... then maybe get around to digging the cannas. I've got so much to do outside, and perfect days to do it this week...
Fairy, start yourself a "Good Eats" diary here on DG. That's what I've done. I see I had also started one called Recipes. Now I need to move and delete to combine. I've got one that I forget to say whose it was. Now I need to find out who originally posted it.
