Is that loud enough.. you think Stacey will get the message??
Got to rest my aching head..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, whats wrong with your head? You sick?
Please take care.
Linda Kay

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Joyce, I'd be happy to send you some of my cannas too... but the red ones might get too tall for a pot... you might need to dig them up to bring them in for the winter.

Jaye.... I LOVE YOU... (sheepish grin)... I'd love to have a double or triple brug too... sometime, maybe... if you think about it.

I hope Joey's roses made it through the storm... she's suppose to send me some Cherokee cuttings too... I want masses of those roses running down my retainer wall... they're so beautiful.

Well, I'm done mowing, and sweeping the lawn.... gonna get me something to eat, then I'm going to dig some...

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

BJ love you too! Wonder why the sheepish grin :D
Cannas growing in Joyce's zone, might not get as tall as our zones, BJ. Joyce, you can always try planting them in a barrel.

My head hurts from the sinus, LK. Dr. just called and he's changing my bp med..again! Sheesh..

Ok.. one for all of us to ponder.

A PET'S Prayer
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me PLEASE Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them.

Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Afternoon sistahs, Jaye sorry to hear about your sinus problems. DH just gets under the hot shower to help his. I am so glad that everyone is back on the mend again and it sounds like everyone is feeling spunky again. That's a good thing.

I also want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers, I know things will be taken care of one way or another thanks to all of you. My brother is already looking into Lomalinda he said, thanks for the tip on that.

The plummer/construction/remodeling guy came today to check it all out and get a bid together and tomorrow the adjuster is coming in the morning to talk about it. Keeping my fingers crossed. Either way it goes I will be happy.

Deb if you have anything left please think of me. Jaye would you like some mini roses, I can start some from the 3 different ones I have.

I'll check in with ya'll off and on this afternoon, I'm trying to get my tomato sauce canned today, it has about 1/2 hour of cooking time yet and then into the jars for the bath.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Oh, that it my soft spot. If they could talk, that would be their prayer.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Loved that Jaye, thanks. I'm going out to hug my dogs right now.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's a start Robin. Hope your insurance be good to you.
As for minis... sure, why not. I think the ones Sandra gave me are minis. Very resilient plants too.

I am too weak to do that final walk with the babies. Ex had always taken care of that and Kel says when the time comes, he'll do it too. But after reading that, I guess I must muster some courage.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

It's hard, but I can vouch that Bo's eyes said to me, "I'm glad you are here with me, thank you, mama."

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm already crying thinking of that day Deborah..
Ali's 11, poor eyes, can't hear, but still has a nose like a bloodhound! With his poor joints, he's still trudging along. We try to make his life comfy. If he did a mistake on the rug.. it's only a rug.. Luckily for the big business, he still lets us know. Now when it comes to food, this old boy here is a gourmand! Don't give him anything that don't have at least some cooked meat!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

New seed swap. I hope it's ok to post it here.

I just heard from JoJo... she, the kids, and hubby are all fine. She went home 2 days ago, and just got power back on last night.
Some of the grocery stores are starting to get things on the shelves again, and she bought up some canned goods in Waco before starting home. She lost all her refrigerated and frozen foods, which, when you shop at Sams, you know thats a lot of food.
The storm took down a tree on the 1/2 acre behind her, and the top of the tree ended up in her back yard... taking out the dog's fence. Got that fixed temporarily yesterday. Home Depot isn't even open fully yet... just letting a few in at a time.
Some siding is missing on the side of the house, and from what I understand it's the the same part that just got repaired from the tree that came in the window... but because of that, her internet isn't working yet, and she hasn't had the time to look into it.
She now has lights and water, and is really really busy scraping up the grime hubby left over the 4 days he lived there with no utilities. If she has time tonight, she's going to look into the internet problems.

She did say that she's very grateful that she had no more damage than she did. On her drive home, she saw some really bad things... a marina on Lake Conroe is totally demolished... and the roof is missing off another historical bar and grill on the Lake. Trees still laying across power lines. Lots of devastation along the way.

She misses us all, and will get here as fast as she can.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

So glad to hear they are ok and have electric back already, Thank God for the power and light people that work non stop to help all those folks. And I pray it doesn't take long to clean up.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Laura had a Doctors appt. and I'm just now getting on.....are there any Cannas or any kind of lillies left??.If so Laura and I would take some just let us know what you need for postage.........

Tia, did you say catfish??? I will take some of those!!!!! Skillet ready preferably..lol. You would not believe the pathetic little things they call catfish up here!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

on the rose cuttings the using a baggie for a greenhouse effect and do it the same way for rose cuttings as you would for other cuttings with the root hormone and starting dirt but when you do the cutting look at the base of the leaves and there should be a lil bitty dot ...... you need to make sure that that dot is in the dirt.
the cuttings don't have to be very big and remove leaves.
moisten the soil take a pencil to make a hole then put the cutting in the hole wtih the root hormone on it and fill in the dirt.
cover wtih baggie and tie shut....or you an use a ziploc baggie for the whole thing just blow air in to inflate it so to speak before totally closed....set in a nice warm bright spot and leave it.
It does work I just potted the 3 starts I had too soon and lost them when I should have left them in the bag longer

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Phyllis, I'll try the baggie method. I do that for seeds but it never crossed my mind to do it for cuttings. Duh.

Trisha, I'll send you and Laura a box of cannas. You've got d-mail.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, I got only 2 clumps of red cannas dug up, separated, and cleaned. Mounded a red wagon full of tubers... and now I'm tired... I got 4 more clumps of giant reds to go. Then I'll start on the yellow ones... got twice as many of those.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Well you've done better than me. All I've done is talk about. The one clump I've got to complete remove must be dug gingerly. My cable lines run through them. Ask me how I know.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... I had to miss the sprinkler heads too... was kinda tricky in a couple places.
A cable line would be trickier though... good luck.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Let's just say I'll be digging up that clump with my glove-hands.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

OMG you ladies were bartering all afternoon!!LOL

LK-While I would love to take credit for those socks honey-they aren't from me.....those are the kind I am tryin to get someone on here that crochetls or knots to make for me-they are my fave in the winter when it is like 0* and we can't afford to turn the heat up;)

Jaye-my Dr told me while in the shower to sniff hot H20 up my nose and blow-do it 3 or 4 times per nostril-and while that sounds truly disgusting, it has gottne me off Claritin this year and just a few Ibuprofen every now and then for the sinus swelling:)

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I think it may have some from my MIL-looks like her writing-MOM was that sock from you?? LK-was it from Lansing, MI??

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Niece, now why didn't I do that.. The ENT specialist that my ex was seeing years back suggested the same thing! Blame it on no brain cells. I'll do that tonight, hopefully I'll sleep better. It's scary when you see the room spinning ....
BJ, thank you so much for the news on Joey. You don't know how relieved I am. Once she and the kids are back home, we know her anxieties will be lessen. If only we live close by.. that includes you too Robin. You all will definitely not be short of physical help.
Marion dahlin'. I got the box! Lingernot's fine and you're a sly one! They are all perfect in their scanty clothes and thank God for the extra wrapping, if not they'll freeze in the box. Temps went down to the 70's today. Gonna let those sweet aunties know that he's safe with me ;)

Raleigh, NC

Brenda, did you say YELLOW?//// hmm? oh my ^_^

now why did y'all have to remind me of cable lines and gardens! ARGH. at our last house, our "McMansion" - When the folks next door, he's a contractor so he did his own house, built theirs, our phone/cable line was underground right inside property line, and every single time a heavy truck arrived at his place, they would back over our grass and breach the line - for SIX MONTHS> then they did it twice a week with the landscapers for three months, then every other month with their tractor mower. our lines were swiss cheese - after a couple months, the utility companies no longer hurried on out to fix it. A year later, that @#$@#$ neighbor told me we didn't deserve to live there if we didn't take better care of our lawn___Randall was under a doctor's care for his heart, we'd both lost our jobs, we were going broke and couldnt' hire it done, I'm allergic to grass, and there he sits with an employee doing his lawn and never thought to ask if we needed help. stood there on my porch for 45 mins. telling me I was trash and should leave if I couldn't afford the neighborhood, after his crew made it impossible for me to use my own phone or TV for over a year! don't get me started!!

come to think of it, wonder how he's doing now that houses aren't selling? ^_^ sometimes the Lord just blesses us all.

I am so very naughty sometimes. Lord help me.

my lines run right through the middle of my front iris bed. Keep them marked year 'round with red flags. Randall still cut it one day with shovel. Gas line runs right through the area I'm building up next.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Jaye... she is home... since night before last. She sounded in a good humor on the phone... but Sterling is freaking because Home Coming is 2 weeks away, and she can't even go to school till Monday... maybe. Oh, the trials our teens have to endure.
