Morning all,
Glad to hear you are safe Sharon..but what a shame you lost all that food.
I've been busy this week..I go to my look after my youngest GD from 7:15 am till 9am...then back home to do my own things. My young neighbour to the west of me cut down three of my trees that were hanging over his property..one was a half dead pear tree. I am so happy it is ogne..except for the trunk..I told him I needed the trunk beacuse my clothesline is attached to it.
the other two were big walnut trees that the squirrels had planted..so lots of debris to clean up. Still more to do.
Betty I hope your shoulder is feeling better today.
I went swimming with my friend to a new indoor community pool that just opened . It is nice and bright ..huge windows all around..might just go a few times a month. She is going to go as often as possible.
My other nieghbours are away for three weeks and I am in charge of cutting their grass ..so I will have lots of outside work to do.
Hi Gilli..nice to hear from you..and good news that Sonora is doing well and enjoying her home schooling.
This fall weather is lovely..we have had sunshine all week..the leaves are turning colurs on my maple trees.
I'll have to think about bringing in my deck plants for overwintering soon. I am going to cut back on the number I bring inside this year.
Soon time to bring out the fall decorations.
Have a good day everyone.
Cheers,
Carol
Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today #60 visit with friends...
It sounds as though you are having a busy week Carol. Same here. Even without a dozen things written on my daily calendar, I am still busy with househodl things. I worked a bit in yarden last evening and want to go out later this morning and finish up cleaning one the Day Lily beds.
Only thing that I have listed on my agenda today is to prepare some food. I want to cook a roast with carrots and potatoes. I need to use up some of the vegetables that I have for a toss salad. I also need to make either an Ambrosia Salad or Fruity Jello Salad because I have been craving those two desserts for a couple of weeks now.
Just re-checking the threads before I get up from here and start my day. Have a great day everyone.
Ruby
Morning, drove myself in so couldn't take 'drugs' wow I'm in pain..just raised my chair to a 'high' position in hopes while looking at the screen I can look down somewhat and see if that helps...good thing, I'll live..lol
Shar, OMG how dreadful..all that food gone to waste, but you are right, your and your home are out of harms way..food can always be replaced...how sad for your family members to have to yet relocate...Dallas in north enough of where Ike hit is it not..been wondering, it's ok for families who have $$$ to keep relocating and driving to find a safe haven but what happens to the poor people who either have no transportation, or, no money for gas/food and lodgings, is that why many of them don't leave their homes when asked to evacuate? wow...terrible for sure...glad you posted you are safe...
Ruby, didn't have breakfast and your pot roast sounds so yummy, maybe I'll do one this weekend...you sound as though you are gaining strength for cleaning gardens is a lot of work..so glad you got positive results back from the Dr.- one step forward...funny you should mention your spare room...same here, had a couple of girls drop in last night, June wanted to show Liz my house, back spare room looks like a greenhouse...lol..don't you have a closed in verandah??? seem to think you had a lot of shelving/tables that you had your plants on....You will be away vacationing again in the next few weeks won't you? Looking forward to it I'm sure as you weren't feeling the best on your last one...
Carol, you are making me tired, and that takes a lot..glad neighbor was helping witht he trees, he's the one who has young children and has dirtbike and go cart track right? See, now I can imagine what you are up to, know the beautiful trailers in Art and Heather's yards are gone for a few weeks... know when you are at your computer you have a beautiful few of your gardens...just love it!!! Swimming at the new facility gets you out, get you mobile and healthy all in one...how's the craving going??? less and less I hope...
Gillian, weather must be getting colder up there, have you had frost yet? Home schooling is such a commitment on your behalf when you consider all the other household chores that need to be done...Keith enjoying this year teaching?
Amazing sometimes when we re-arrange the furniture we have what a completely different look it takes on, almost like getting new furniture...Michelle - Bernice's daughter next door does 'stagging' uses what one has and gives it an entirely different feel...would love her to come over and do mine which she said she would, just make the phone call, but I'm the type of person that once I purchase an item and find a home for it, there it stays for the rest of it's life...bad thing I would think, maybe one day I'll get brave!!!
Betty, there are all kinds of services available to those people who were in the direct line of the hurricane....there were shelters prepared and food and water available. It was very organized. Some are just stubborn and refuse to leave, I think, or maybe too old or ill to make a wise decision.
It still looks like a war zone here, but my yard is just flattened, but clean of debris. I have to go grocery shopping today, but it will be a little at a time. I certainly learned some lessons.
Some fun things came from it though. I had trouble sleeping and went from bed to couch to recliner, flashlight in hand.....so every morning my favorite neighbor came knocking on my door, with coffee in hand. She gets up pretty early and would go out to get coffee for both of us and we would sit at my table and talk through our cups of coffee. That was fun, then we both would go outside and pick up sticks, our yards adjoin, and we helped each other. I missed our coffee chat this morning, my own didn't taste as good as the cups she brought.
some people did go to motels, but I didn't want to leave my cats, and thought with the full moonlight that it wasn't too scary, and it was not so hot so my house stayed cool. Those who went to motels were those who had small children or who needed to be prepared for an early work day. I didn't have any commitments, so I chose to stay home and enjoy the candles and the moonlight.
Nice to know that you all are safe and sound.
Have a good day.
Sharon
From bad comes good right Shar...glad you survived..we just had the 6th anniversary of when Ontario's main hydro grid went down, many lost food and it was down for 4 days..with the ATV we would take the big generator and plug in to those with freezers as to be able to keep food frozen..it was hard though..each time you think I should do this or that it dawns on you 'nope' need hydro for that..
Guess when it happens you are glad for all those 'pretty candles' and for the supply of batteries...I keep saying just in case I'll pick up a small generator enough to have t.v. / a light .. have butane cooking stove and always have 3 or 4 butane containers (we use this in the boat) but NOT cooking doesn't bother me...
So with everything flattened, do you think with a bit of sunshine the gardens will return or will you have to cut everything down and wait for spring...how about those roses???
Glad you are safe...prayers for all those in need in your areas...
The roses had already been trimmed back, except for the climbers and they lost only a few parts and pieces. I think the others will come back, daylilies, iris, etc.....most of the perennials will be back next year. I did try to save some seeds from some that were still there. I was very fortunate in that the potted plants on my back deck just blew over and off the deck along with the glider. They were huge ficus, etc. but did not break. I only had to repot and I think they will be fine.
I was very fortunate in a lot of ways. Foods can be replaced.
Good Morning,
Oh Sharon, how scarey. I am sure glad you are safe and you your home was unharmed as well. It's really nice that you and your neighbor were able to gather in the morning for coffee and work together in the debris cleanup. Is this the neighbor who came and checked on you when you were so ill? She is a lovely friend, I am glad you were there together.
What a bummer to loose all the food. OMG, that is a long time to go without electricity...But i am glad the weather is cooler so you didn't need AC. Thank goodnees for flashlights and candles. We also have an emergency generator,
Good news, Washer and dryer are completely dried ourt so, will be doing laundry tonight. We did another bleach wash in the basement and it looks so much better and doesn't have that flood smell, so progress being made...Also, coffee maker back in order, gave it a good cleaning too.
Hi Gilli, So glad to see you post. Yes, I imagine you are quite busy with school and getting some routine of teaching. I home school my kids for summer school a couple of years. Not an easy thing, lol sure gave me a better appreciation for teachers.
Carol, Enjoy the time with your GD. That is just a special time. How nice you will care for your neighbors yard while they are vacationing. Just be mindfull to take lots of breaks.
OH Betty, sorry to hear your still in pain. What are you up to today?
I am not busy again, but i have had a few come and say they have something in the works, so that will be nice. Since it is not due until next week, I've decided to take tomorrow off. I just am wasting beautiful weather to be sitting and doing nothing, I starting to go a bit bizurk over it.
Ruby, Oh, now I love the sound of making a pot roast. Well, I made a beautiful dinner last night only slightly burned, but it was still tastey...Should have stayed a guarded it but went off to do a few things.
HI Laura, Might be good to get back to work full time. I mean to be out with people. So what will you do to enjoy the last days...
OH...I am going to Wisconsin again in Oct. My nephew is holding another Ghostfeast. This will be really neat, As we have not been to his new house yet. He lives on a lake too...Not to mention I will be able to love up the grand nephew. He is starting to walk so how fun to watch his first steps, by that time he might running!!..I am little nervous too as I am sure my neice will be there. She is still not speaking to me so oh well, Others will be there that I will enjoy visiting with.
OK well, I have been typing for a while...If I've crossed with some I see you later. Going to lunch.
Have a GOOD DAY.
Judy, Ghostfest sounds like a lot of fun! will be fun to see grand nephew..know he's your pride and joy...
Nope, not doing a think, just sitting and it's driving me crazy..do have my paints and project in the car, was going out for supper tonight but Diane has the vet coming between 4:30-5:30 for her poor horse so plans must change..with my arm/shoulder hurting so think I'll call the studio and tell them not to expect me tonight..this panel is a must finish so will paint at my leisure..perhaps next week...
It's just so exciting, Suzanne called Bell Canada to order a new phone system that will allow connection to the new Toronto location from Barrie, Paul ordering some new furniture for someof the offices, we'll use as much as we have and what is in storage but he needs a few pieces for boardroom sooo certianly looks like it's a go..lol...don't want to be too positive just incase...but leases are signed so I'll be counting down the days/months until we move...may the snow hold off until then...
Been thinking about closing in with screening in hopes it will stop the snow, always did it with heavy plastic these past 2 years but now that it's the roof and structure has been finished with metal I can't...also wanted to put in a new dining room window, a big one to let more light in so it's been a toss up..Bernie (DB) was over last week and gave me some ideas, been thinking hard (bet you can smell the rubber right?), I really with all the work that's been done and wanting to go south again can't do both BUT I could if I changed a few things...
I priced Sunbrella which is a canvas used to awnings and boat tarps, worked with it quite a bit, machine doesn't mind sewing through it, even doubled/trippled layers, so I could make panels 64" wide - 8 in total and 84" long..Bernie would revamp the side structures as to allow me wood for attaching toggles on it... then, if I still have time I could visit the tarp wharehouse and purchase the heavy plastic window material they use in boats and make windows in each panel..they would last for years/years...come spring, just open the toggle switches and take them off and store them..would work like a charm...can't see that they would take more than a few weekends to make...sunbrella goes for about $30.00 a yard and I can get it for $15.00 as it doesn't have to come in continual yardage, pieces ok...so, tomorrow afternoon I'm on a mission..get some prices for windows and purchase some yardage and try one, see if it's what I like (end product) and then have Bernie come over again this Saturday morning to get a cost on doing the sides...if it were up to him he'd closed the entire back porch with walls....I don't need another room I just want an area to come in that does not have 5' of snow on it to shovel every morning/night...
So this project is starting to energize me..lol...
Ruby has me hungry for pot roast..now I have to wait until the weekend..bet her house is smelling all so 'yummy'...they have labtec computer camera's to see each other, why can't they have 'smell' units as well...perhaps not..lol...
Cat, how did your 2 hr. teleconference go? Vicki haven't seen you on, you must be taking advantage of those 2 days off..
Jeannine, is it tonight the parent / teacher meeting where you discuss the trips??? hang on to your checkbook...
Ruby I can so smell your cooking, want to share?
feel like I can almost touch the clouds, so heavy and dark..in for rain I think...wonder if Cathy cut my grass today, would imagine another couple of cuttings and that will be it for the year...
Woodspirit...waving..what you up to today...another 45 minutes and homeward bound..it's a mighty long boring day when you can't even play..could have had 3 color changes made on the crochet blanket had it not been for this arm/shoulder...will teach me...
Have managed though with pen in hand to make a list of things I need before the weekend...keep adding I'll be running out of this weeks allowance..lol
Betty I have been lurking. Well checking in. Just busy in the house. Got some zucchini ready for the freezer. Made 3 meatloafs and roaster(small) of stuffed cabbage casserole for the freezer. pre-cooked hamburger for hotdishes or chili. Now I have a big pot of soup cooking to put in the freezer and a big mess in the kitchen.
tomorrow I will pretty much be able to spend outside. Except to do some house cleaning!
Those are my big days off.
Hopefully our gorgeous weather is heading your way for the weekend1 Wouldn't that be nice? that will be quite the project if you decide to do it Betty!
I have to go fly hunting there is a noisy one driving me crazy! They sure find a way in!
Wow Vicki that's a lot of cooking, nice when you are working though to take something out for supper from the freezer that is home made..do you freeze your cabbages so that you can use the cabbage for your cabbage rolls...I use to work hard at getting the leaves out then Roger showed me the 'freeze' way..so simple and here I was stressing getting it done..
Yes, hoping for a nice weekend, I'll make sure that I spendeach of my days outside putting the gardens to rest...not sure what I should be doing, I'll deadhead most of it...as for the garden art I'll wait till the 11th our Thanksgiving weekend to put it away..
been a long time since I've had custom made cupboards..can't believe what they've come up with..self closing doors, slats that open to hold dish towels, drawer in front of zinc to hold dishcloths, drawers that hold pots/pans in slots...all kinds of goodies, then Kyle wanted to show me the new fridge, ice cubes maker, not electronic, you fill with water, pull lever and they drop into container, he was thrilled with that piece...desk for him to work at, Greg put corkboard on the wall so Kyle and Noah could put their homework on/reminders & such...funny kid, gets so excited about these things, Noah, he was out playing, no excitement about a kitchen for him (reminds you of his grandma right?) my next kitchen will have vending machines....
Sitting on the cupboard was stone tile, Greg and Mel asked me my opinion, but it didn't count, sure they already had decided..lol...so now we sit in the living room gabbing and I see some pieces I painted for them in a corner, Melanie said she was making changes to the style did I want some of them back...so came home with these so far...
When I originally gave them this piece I had painted a country insert which they later took out, changed their decorating style/colors so did a stained glass piece to fit in and Greg installed lighting inside, used it as a night light, they are not sure they want it either...so, told them they know where to find my house..if they don't bring them back to me...
Now Melanie and Kyle were shopping in a small grocery store here and Mel told him to put her name on a draw ticket, wouldn't you know the ticket was picked and it was for a laptop computer but Kyle went and put his name on it...he's 13 and you have to be 18 to win..so guess no laptop..he's so disappointed...
Must add one more thing, got a lovely parcel from Linda Kay, don't know how she did it with going into the hospital and all, it was full of material about Texas, flyers, events, Texas shapped earings/ candle box in the shape of earings and a lovely card...OMG how lovely...thank you thank you Linda Kay...trying to encourage me to go back for a Texas visit....might do
Oh my, I didn't realize Kentucky got hit so hard! I'm so glad you are safe Sharon. That's just crazy!
Nice house Kyle has Betty, I love the kitchen! Pretty!
You should do a state room, fill it with goodies all of your DG friends send you!!
I love that wine rack. One of the local furniture stores has a bakers rack that I would just love to have, but Dave says no we don't need it, nor do we have room for it bum. The stained glass is gorgeous, I love blue!
Morning, must have had frost, cannot even see out the windows, yuk...driving in myself again today...Darlene called me late last night as she thought I'd gone painting to tell me my new saw is near the airport and has to be picked up so her hubby Mike will call me this morning with details of cost and p.u. directions...thank goodness I've Thelma (GPS) as Judy and Liz call it with me...lol...so doubtful that I'll get home early...love Friday's getting off at 1:00 but who knows how long this p.u. will take...but I so do need this saw...
Crissy, I might just have to do that, maybe the downstairs den with the big side t.v. unit with about 10 shelves..could possibly do it there...great idea!
Linda Kay, somewhere you asked if Greg brought back all my tools...last night he mentioned that he came to get soldering equipment and then proceeded to tell me about some new spray that you put on the hose, give house a spray, leave 10 minutes and all the spider/fly yuk comes off like a charm, I said maybe I'd take out the power washer I never used as yet to try it on mine and he speaks up, oh yeh mom, picked yours up to clean the house on Wednesday...so I would imagine when he comes that truck of his will be FULL of MY tools...told him he knows where they all belong!!!! kids...
Well, better get a move on, don't know how to dress, freezing in the a.m. and by aft. it's summer again...
Talk later...
I'm dressed for winter or at least a fall day, wouldn't you know it's a gorgeous sun shine day..wow, fall must truly be here, got in at 8:10 and he was already at his desk, asked him if he KNEW it was Friday..hasn't been here on a Friday since forever..Wayne and I were saying how long it was taking the computers so he sat and cleaned everything non-essential off, asked me about msn said sure remove it, dah, now I have to get all my msn contacts up and running again..should have said 'no' not 'yes'...waiting for the call from the saw place, it's coming in by courrier from Quebec, guy says the courrier usually arrives between 11 - 1:00 every day, watch him be late today, so said if it's not in, I'll pick it up one day on my lunch, means I'll have to drive in but that's ok..thought it was there (must have misunderstood Darlene or she got info wrong)had plans to cut out more witches...
Everyone must be busy so back I go, painting roses...
Talk later
Hi...
Whew, I am taking a Brunch Break!
As you know, I decided to take the day off. Well, I am way off, My rocker!! heavy laughter there. Been up since 5:30 This A.M.
Got more laundry going, cleaned my bathroom, Got the kids off to school by designated time. Picked up the clutter from all over the house and got it all put away. Got some stuff organized in the yard. Packing up a box to go of to post office, which i think I shall send off tomorrow. Got another arrand to run for Steve so will get that done shortly so i can get back and finish up...Laundry still going, still have to sweep and vaccume and then I can enjoy the afternoon out and about the yard...going to yank up more weeds...Then set up my fire for tonight. Just feel the need for a fire, maybe I'll surprise kids with smore material, lol, woop just talked myself into that!!
...See what you all have started, with all of your busy...Decided it time I quit talking about it and get it done myself. Plus I think I am on a major roll from cleaning the basement, lol best not stop now. PLUS, when it come time to create Victorian Santa, I want to play instead of clean! So, when I called work, I said I am taking today off to get some things done, since there is no work to do there I just want the day to do my work at home, Hate to say I'm sick if I am not.
Well Ves, I am so glad you got all that done, wow, you sure made lots of meals!! Will be real nice to not have to worry about cooking for a time.
Betty, Mel and Gregs kitchen looks beautiful, love the color of the cabinets!...Oh,oh...Hope you get your MSN up and running again, Does your email contain that info? Will be quick to get it going if it does...Hey are we still waiting on Baby??
Well i do hope your saw arrives so, you can play...
OK, my tummy is making some very loud noises sooo I am thinking ham and cheese omlette! Want some?
See you later.
Your making me hungry Judy, fun to have a do what you want day even if it is cleaning and purging..love those kind of days...no baby yet, they tell Danielle that they will do a c section Monday or Tuesday..so another wait, baby's heart is strong though..
Still no call, leaving it for another 15 minutes and then will call them, not sitting in the city JUST incase it arrives today!!!
Painted more on my piece, once I start I enjoy it, it's just the starting bit..
Paul just left, another 1/2 hr. and off we go, Suzanne is at the Trustee office and will be working till at least 2 so glad I drove myself in...have a list of shopping - Midland stores - more like pricing windows... so might try to go there on my way home rather than waste tomorrow morning..am sure windows will have to be ordered...to me a window is a window..don't want anything fancy..just bigger..
Tried to re-register on msn, as soon as I put my e-mail address in it said I already have an account and opened it up so lucky there...would miss gabbing with all my friends...especially Liz in Ireland, she's got a labtec as well so it's nice seeing each other talk, makes it more personal..
Well, better pack up my paints, maybe go downstairs for something to nibble on for the way home then turn off everything it by then it should be 1:00..hallellulia...
I'm enjoying this thread so much. Everybody is busy busy busy.
Not busy enough..lol..saw didn't come in through Puralator, now I've got to wait, something I'm not good at...just got home, Kathy said 'just in time, come home when the work is all done' and wasn't that the truth..my yard looks sooo pretty on this fall day, a nicer day you'd not find, now if only the weekend is the same...
Went and looked at windows and patio doors, why a patio door??? beats me, saw a few, new shipment coming in next Friday so will go back..he wanted to give me a great deal on a window, done in 3 sections reg. $1,500 for $850. tax included..so now that Kathy has left, going to get my measuring tape out and see if my wall can accommodate 74 1/2 wide by 68 1/2 long...
I so like to get things done on my 'to do' list, must always mark 'start Sat. early a.m.' by the time I get home from work I'm just zonked, and to make matters worse I've been ill with tummy and hurt my arm/shoulder, taking meds soooo think with your blessing I'm going to go have a bath, get into my jammies, maybe look at project magazines and call it a day...if lucky I'll be sleeping by 7:00...tomorrow's another day...lol
So just incase I do, enjoy the rest of the day and your evening, talk tomorrow...
Aw Betty,
Sending you a kiss on the nogan, tuck in the bed, and bid you sweet dreams.
have a good rest...

see you in a bit.
Well then good night, kiss on nogan to everyone!
Sleep well, see you in the morn or eve..
Have a good rest Betty. See you later!
I am exhausted, busy day at work today. Ordered food for my conference, typed up 3 speaker confirmation letters, an audio/video checklist, an agenda, reserve the food and av equipment with the hotel.
Out to dinner we go, see ya'll later!
Morning, fooled you Judy, did need the rest, still in pain this morning so trying to figure out what I can undertake...
Got a call at 7:10 from Suzanne, Danielle's water broke so they were off to the hospital, got another call at 11:50 to say that she had a little girl so needless to say I'm more than excited, a little girl to spoil..Suzanne had my call on speaker phone when she called, said 'what does having a girl mean' '1st I said, I can now start the table and chair set that I so wanted to do, lol without searching for a boy pattern design AND of course adopt her as a 'grandaughter', you have to share Suzanne!!!' and that she will...just born 7 lbs.4 oz. and 21" when she called, said she has a full head of 'black' hair, and they are calling her Aerianna..(spelling?) .. exciting...
With all of October and November booked each and every weekend with some major project, craft show, family Thanksgiving, workshops this weekend will be a laze around, play with unfinished projects, nothing designated to be finished..
Darlene called me last night and said Craig from the saw company called and it arrived at 1:10pm..tried to reach me but forgot to tell her I had a new cell phone and number...drats, when he said it wasn't in, I thought the courrier had come and it wasn't in the order, had he said the courrier has not been but we know he has the shipment I'd have waited...oh well, means next week I'll have to take a run on my lunch hour one day that I bring my car in...
Crissy sounds as though you accomplished much yesterday at work and deserved to go out for supper...where did you go, enjoy it?
Judy, nice to clean the house and purge yourself of things you keep and will never use again...with 5 of you it must be a chore, I can't keep us with 1 of me...
Found nice homes for the things that Melanie gave me back, mirror looks nice in my bedroom, the painted mirror I had is in the hallway, pictures matched perfectly on dining room wall as did the pear plate...
Just made a cup of coffe, not sure how to dress for the day, looks overcast and yet they say it will be sunshine so just might keep my jammies on till I know what the day will bring...
Enjoy your day!
Lordy, yes I plan 'off' days but somehow it just doesn't work out that way, what time did I post the last post 8:34 am DG Time and here it is 12:14 and son Greg called just after I posted, had their entire kitchen redone, he picked up stone and slate and did back splash wall last night, said he started at 6:30 and worked till 2:00 am..asked me to come over and see, THEN I said, oh wooo is me, "grandma gave me grey slate tiles to do the back of my kitchen cupboard and I've not done it yet" now that's where I went wrong... in one quick breath he says, "I've the glue, saw, come over and look at mine and you can do yours today before I have to bring the saw back"...then in the 2nd breathe, "what are you doing for the rest of the day mom? - Melanie and I were invited to an afternoon birthday party for Sue and it starts at 2:00" so I say 'bring the boys over' to which he says 'one problem mom, Noah has to be in Midland for 5pm - he's the goalie and hockey game will probably go to 7:15pm so can you go watch the hockey game???' so my saying I will stay in jammies and have a nothing kind of day just does not work for me..after my visit to Greg's and seeing the tile off to Midland Home Depot, bought lovely 4" stone border that will compliment the tiles that mom gave me both for tile color and red brick tone for cupboards, home I came and took wallpaper off the back part of counters and realize that yuk, the trim will look terrible, now another trip in to purchase window trim so I can install if before I start my project..drats and more drats...how I can talk myself into these things is beyong me...might amaze me as to how much I accomplish in one day, I'm like Greg, if it means working till early morning hours, I will...lol...Off to the races...
Now that I've established trim size for window I shall be able to complete my project..I'm aiming for 6pm so that in 24 hrs. I can grout...
DB Bernie and SIL Charlene are on their way over, we've got to go through the back deck changes and I have to figure out if that window I saw yesterday is too big...while talking he said I'd have to drop in and get some tile..my surround tub has about a 3' area above it that was never done so said just come over when you want it and get it so lordy knows that just maybe tomorrow morning I'll be there...
Just so excited, love it when a plan comes together or not..the tile work will add to the kitchen, didn't need to rest today anyway...still have a hockey game that I must leave for at 5:00pm...that might put a damper into my plans...just a little..
Oh my gosh, Betty you are just too cute. I love that pic of you cutting tile....hehehe adorable in your little apron.
Nice job on the tiles,...hmm wondering if you will paint them?
Well..you bet it's a spendid day out and beleive or not, i haven't spent one minute out yet...Going to rectify that now!
No fire last night, just couldn't get it going so will try again tonight, YIKES for got to take something out to cook, Ves...hmmm, lol, Im coming for dinner! Better think quick on what I can make fast and easy...
Enjoy the hocky Betty!
And i do hope things can get worked out for your porch idea. How fun to create an idea like that...Steve and i were thinking to close in the screenhouse somehow...Racking brains over here. LOL.
See you later!!
Betty, I love your distressed cabinets, (isn't that the term?) You aren't going to change them are you? I like them just the way they are. Are you through with the tiles yet? I want to see pictures when you are finished. Along with 1,000's of DGer's. LOL
Betty Betty..you are amazing!
Isn't it funny we were just tlaking about the little glass tiles I put as a small border aorund the top of my counter top...and now you are doing this whole backsplash..looks great so far.
So what happened about your pain?
Did you forget about it in all the excitement?
My friend Sheila and I went to the chili cook off in Orono today. There were 25 entrants..they close the main street down..I think Sheila and I tasted about 20 of them. Sure didn't need any supper tonight..
Then you vote for the best one. Sheila voted for a different one than I did.
Several were very strange tasting...and two we had to throw away with out finishing..they were just awful.
Thne afterwards we topped it off with an ice cream cone to cool our mouths down. Oh..we hit a yard sale too..Sheila got four nice chair pads for her kitchen set.
I got a neat hanging metal candle holder..I hung it outside on my deck.
My grandson and his girlfriend came over earlier today and took several of my large plants to the basement..three of them are tropical hibiscus trees..I can manage the rest..
This is my friend Sheila..we worked together in the 70's..and met again about 4 years ago..and picked up our friendship again.
