Short of physically being there to help them with the cleaning. Guess we'll wait and see what they need, so we can help out.
As for plants, Robin lost all her tomatos and buds on her flowers. So, she's thankful for that.
♥Sweet Interruption♥ 25
she searched and found alot of her plants and replanted them. they are ostly perennials, but she did totally lose her brug
Great news BJ.
So sorry for the loss of gardens and internet.
Dang Ike is being a bad bad boy.
Brugs?
Joyce, don't worry.. I got plenty to share.
LOL-I knew you would help her out Jaye:)
We got a lot of wind and had things blown around, but I just picked it all up today-the 7" of rain we got over the weekend was OK-that new sump pump worked like a charm-and I was freakin a little waiting for soggy carpet again!!
I think Joyce had such a problem since she just moved it all-nothing was rooted...
BJ-that is too cool!! I hope he loves it as much as you do!!
Cindy-holy butterflies batman!!
Joyce has the only electric on in the neighbor. Praise the Lord, He is using Joyce's generosity to fed her neighbors in need.
DANG... I feel so guilty now... I was closer to the gulf, and got little to no damage... That's just awful about your gardens and basements. I'm so sorry to hear that.
Yep, I'm so glad DS is becoming interested in something... although, I would like him to take an interest in his yard and flower beds... but NOOOOO... not yet anyway.
Hey there bj ment to say something earlier, interested in GP puppy. about 5 months old. I also have a male and female , her parents that we are looking for a home.
I'll ask my son to see if he's interested... I don't think Don and I are ready for another dog just yet... I'll let you know.
but a puppy!! Awwww
lol i have 3 that need new homes. Mom does not have the time for them. The puppy is not fixed. Her name is Pepper.
Ummm Debra, Which one of my plants is th Dragon tree? I don't know the names of some of my plants, but some of them are DBF's that belonged to his late wife.
Stacey, What do you mean holy butterflies batman?
Hi all, no damage in the basement, I have everything important up off the floor. The cats had fun playing in the water though. Most of my flowers are ok they still have some buds left. We had fried green tomatoes for dinner last night, so all is not lost on that part. I'm very happy that everyone is doing good after the storms. Plants can be replaced you Sistahs can't. Thank God you are all here.
Kathy did you take the little ones out of the incubator right after they hatched or did you leave them in their for a couple of hours first? You should leave them in to dry and stay warm , it helps to get their body temps up so they can go into your brood box. I always left mine in for at least 6 hours then transferred them out. I am so sorry they didn't make it.
Deborah, I'm sorry I spelt your name wrong up above. Or and I water my plants every Saturday morning. Just a routine I stick too.
So glad you check in Robin. Very happy there was more damage with the basement and you all are doing okay. Fried green tomatoes oh my!! What I wouldn't give for some about now.
You have a lot of butters Cindy-hence "holy butterflies batman" Am I the only one that uses a that saying for holy crap that is big or alot??
Robin--good to hear you are OK:)
They were absolutely fantastic, we fried up garlic, red and yellow peppers, zucchini and jalapenos. And of course we had sliced red tomatoes with it. Luckily I can get more tomatoes to can from the farmers market next week. I'm just happy that most of us came away from this storm with minimal damage around here.
I am starving and you had to add the other veggies. Now what am I going to do--what I had planned for dinner sounds bad!! Shame on you. LOL I love everything but the jalapenos--can't handle those.
Atleast you were able to use the veggies.
PTL for Joyce, feeding the neighbours. There's plenty of comfort in there, just knowing what you've lost is nothing, when it comes to putting food in someone else's belly.
Robin, I love fried green tomatoes. We had some tomatoes from the garden, and I didn't pick any when they're green, maybe next batch! Slices of fresh ripe tomatoes and slices of mozarella cheese.. yummy..
there we go again.. talking about food!
Not only are we swap addicts but food addicts or junkies also. Which? Or is it both? LOL
Marion, stick to light digestible stuffs for yourself right now. Like a bowl of chicken soup.
Oh believe me I am!! Have no desire to go through that again anytime soon.
Yes Marion soft gentle food.
We are having Meatloaf, smushed taters and brown gravy. Not sure what veggy yet, may make a salad i think I have enough ripe maters.
We're leaving for a good meal. Think we'll have something light tonight, like a 10 oz. ribeye, with baked potato and all the works.. yumm... and for dessert, a slice of anything lemon flavored.
Will raise our glasses to you Marion ;)
Hey You Ladies,
You're making me hungry and it's only 2:30 here. I guess we are having chicken and??????.
Lololol!!!!
Chicken and buttered pasta, Cindy. Try that!
I had chicken soup too Marion... left over broth from yesterday's Chicken & Dumplins. I just added the left over veggies from the fridge, and cut up a potato in it... and walah... dinner for one... was really good.
Now, back to multitasking... I'm getting really good at that, ya know.
I just made Lasagna for dinner tonight (with Kali's help) and it's in the oven baking. I think we'll have garlic cheese bread or maybe rolls with it.
Well it's a toss up for me when it comes to swaps or food. I can do either. I love to cook (guess that's why I do it for a living huh) and I love to give presents. Not to mention getting them too. Sometimes I feel like we have such a limited supply of things around here but I guess others might not have the same things where they are, I hope.
I'm working real hard on what to do about my sistah's present. Had to change my mind what to do for her. She might be a real challenge.
HHMMM yep that sounds good gonna add some cheddar cheese too.
Stacey, I have more butterflies in my bedroom, bathroom and craftroom. Tell ya the truth I had TONS more but sold alot when I had to sell my house.
Well, Robyn... if I'm your sistah... fret no more... just cook for me, and I'll be just the happiest camper alive in 2009.
NOW, my buddy is a tough one... got to do a lot of studying up on that one.
Sorry Bj, but you aren't her. Maybe we can all send each other food in the future, like fudge or candies or something. Along with the recipe, cause I always want new foods to try, especially if I can make it and give it away for a present.
Well then Robin if I am your sistah, you can cook for me!! How is that?
Gee thanks Jaye, me eating light and your idea of light just aren't the same in my mind. I wanna a steak, lagsana, garlic cheese bread, chickin' n dumplin' aw shucks, I just want food!!!! No wonder I stay pudgy.
There is a Bake Swap coming up and Recipe Box Swap.
Oh, I see it!! Just trying to ignore it! LOL
Pleasantly Plump that's me. I love to eat and cook and bake. I just started making bread when I moved in with DBF now I can't stop.
I can make cornbread and biscuits but that is it for sure!!! I have this ongoing love/hate problem with yeast breads. I love 'em and they hate me!!!
My specialty (according to all my customers) is Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread. It is their favorite. They also love my Basian wings, Jerk Chicken with parmesan fries, white chili, and my deep fried Talapia.
I love zucchini bread, but never had it with chocolate chips sounds yummie
Yummy Yummy I got love in my Tummy for all these foods. LOL sorry just being silly
Hello everyone. So sorry to hear of all the losses of gardens, and chicks. Marion glad to hear you feeling better. Wow, so much going on.
I went to the Doc for a follow up today, and all is well so far. I have to wear this big A$$ boot for 2 more weeks, then the stitches come out!!!! Pain is starting to go away, finally.
Please take care.
Linda Kay
Robyn, are you a baker/chef???
