Don't ever think for a minute we don't love you Kathy!! That just "ain't" so we needs you and miss you when you don't post. So sorry to hear about your birds--I would still be fuming and fussing for sure.
How is your granddaughter? That really has worried me for sure.
It is good to see everyone starting to appear that were in Ike's way and better still to find out they fared okay through the ordeal.
♥Sweet Interruption♥ 25
pamela is getting back to normal. she was fussing good when i called today. i do miss my birds something awful
Glad to hear about Pamela. I love the name. To be understood about your birds. It is so easy to get attached to our animals--besides I am a big softy when it comes to things like that.
Otherwise you and Mike okay?
we are fine. i'm going to pick out a puppy tonite, but i can't bring her home for 3 weeks. her name will either be angel or tashia
OO-new puppy!!
Oh the kind you mentioned earlier? Can't spell it. A friend in Gainesville has them and they are wonderful--big fluffy babies. They are used also to protect goats herds. Oh can't wait to see pictures for sure.
Great Pyrenees?
Yeap that the one. Just can't spell but know about the breed. Thanks muchas!
I have 3 you can have.
I wish I could!! Dogs just won't do where I live for sure. On a lake and no fences!
Kathy, are you getting your pup from Wally?
Those were really beautiful ones that he had.
lol I was so confused there, I thought Marion was getting the dog, then she says she cant have them. LOL ok I am with the program now, or I think so. Ok brb gotta go let the chickens out.
yes bj, i'm getting one of his. he has 10 pups
OOO-I HAVE to have pics:) I LOVE puppies-puppy breath is the best!!
ok back I even let the turkeys out now and they just love me for that. They went right to their pen last night had to run out the ignorant chickens they wanted to stay in with the turkeys. Oh well life on my small non money making farm lol.
And very very protective. I have seen grown men not get out of the truck at my house until I was out there.
So, Tina... you have some foul with an identity crisis too?
My son just had to put his Great Pyrenees down this year... was 14 years old... and such a good dog... teddy bear... and VERY protective of the whole family. He's missed, for sure.
See-I am scared of birds too-it is the pecking thing-I have never really been wround anyu though, so I am sure a trip to Kathy's would sure me of that especially if I time it when there are babies:)
yes they do have an identity problem. I have some people here that comes to my house that are scared of the chickens to. My youngest daughter WAS when she first moved back in here but heck now she sits outside with me and she is not scared of them anymore. My chickens are being raised around people, and really they are more scared of us then we are of them. Now the turkeys are a different story, I got them 3 weeks ago and they are a year old. But they are real gently for the most part, I know where they are when I am out there and I DO NOT take my eye off of them nor do I turn my back on them. I do not want to eat turkey yet, I want them to hatch em some eggs next spring.
I CAN HEAR THE CHICK PEEPING AGAIN! yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
whew, had me worried, they should be hatching anytime now if it is day 21 right?
gonna help her out right now. be back soon
OOOO-chicks!! Turkeys scare me the worst!!
yea me to at first but they are really not bad. But i am very watchful.
Normally BJ will leave some breadcrumbs.. I hope mine won't disappear :D
Too funny .. fowls with identity crisis!!! Guineas think they're watch-fowls too!! But I'm like Stacey.. don't think I can raise big fowls. Got bitten real bad by geese. Chicks and ducks.. np.. guineas too.. anything close to my knee caps.. forget it!!
Of course we love ya Sis.
I am on the edge of my seat witing for Kathy to post about the progress of the chick!!!
Sistah tO Sistah alert:
Joyce and Phyllis, please make known your likes and dislikes. Colors, food, drinks. Anything special you wish to have.
LOL I'm sitting here laughing about chickens and turkeys...I know when you are scared of something like I ma snakes it isn't funny but it is ...ya know that fine line there.
It brought back a memory when we were back in Illinois and my oldest Shelly worked on a berry farm and they had chickens and turkeys that they raised and butchered for thanksgiving and such....my son was oh gee small not grade school age yet I don't think and he went out to watch them ad Shelly took a turkey and pressed on the chest and made it make the sound and after that it took almost a year before he would eat chicken or turkey without prodding. LOL
he even laughs about it now
My younger brother's the golden child in the family. Grandad had a rooster, and baby brother claimed it as his. He won't let any of us play with it.
Well, one day, we were enjoying a good rooster curry. Baby brother said it was the best Mum had ever made.
Yep... you all guessed it. He wasn't golden anymore after he found out!
that is to funny, yes it is funny about running from a snake or what ever it is you have a fear of. I laughed my butt off one day, I posted it somewhere but dont remember so I will post again. I have about 300 chickens anyway, my hubby had cut down a dead tree and it was home to a gazillion black ants. This one and only one chicken came over that ate his fill and went on, well about 10-15 minutes later the whole flock was there, hubby said it was a dust cloud. Well my DD that is kinda still scared of them went out to see, they charged her, she was a running and trying to find something to climb. I laughed so had I about peed myself. She laughs now but it was not to funny to her then.
to funny Jaye.
300 free range chickens?? Tia, Tina and I Don't Care.. your soil must be rich!!
Stacey, are you still on your seat?
lol yep all free range except for about 30 bantams. I just let them free range a little over 3 weeks ago, so the soil is still in the working. The do hang out in alot of my flower beds and they are looking great.
none of the chicks made it
so very sorry to hear Kathy. I feel bad for you.
bummer on the chicks.... sorry Kathy and I so wanted to see baby chicks on here God must have needed them upstairs
Oh so sorry Sis.. try again, you'll be the best chick mama, I know..
Plenty of time Janice. There are still some sistahs who don't disclose themselves fully, even though they've been with DG for a while.
Phyllis, that brug's gonna get you in trouble. Soon you'd be wanting more. Uhh.. Phyllis, can you share your favorite colors, likes and dislikes please. Serious planning by your swap sistah who needs your info :D
I've been having problems with DG.. can't post right away, and slow to load up..
Trisha, forget to tell you Sage is certainly one normal child!! Kel and I got a kick of her being "snowed"!!
