same her almost makes me wanna stay int he living room instead of my bed since our room is on that side of the house but it is a brick house
♥Sweet Interruption♥ 23
It looks as if per that sight, once it gets just a smidge NW of Houston, it then heads straigth N through Tyler...
I forgot to tell ya'll-Extreme Makover Home Edition is like 3 miles form me this week-just found out when I did errands today!!
Thanks Stacy makes me feel so much more secure living so close to Tyler ....hahahahaha
we are kinda in a dip between two "hills" so hoping alot of the wind goes on by
well gee I'll check in when I can through this and I may even get the laptop out and go sit in my car in the garage if I have to if I can connect and if we have house damage you can go tel them to come build me a new house....joking
Sorry Phyllis...I wan't trying to be the turd...
LOL is okay Stacy I know what you meant
was trying to make sure you knew I was joking around in my reply
hey how far are you from ann arbor/ipsi area
Actually Stacey... they're saying it's headed straight toward Athens, which is just West of Tyler... and just across the lake from me... its going to cut right in between the two of us. Which puts Phyllis on the dirty side of the eye, so she can suffer the tornado warnings... I'll be on the more stormy side with stronger winds... sorry, Phyllis.. I know... none of it is good news.
gee is this like living on the wrong side of the tracks???? LOL
I'm headin off to bed as I know if the winds pick up yet tonight they will turn the roof vents and that will wake me up LOL
gonna finish up laundry int eh am and make everyone shower then put water in the tubs.
niters girls ...

Night Night, Phyllis... be safe, my friend.
you too BJ
I'll pop in in the morning once I am up if power is still on LOL
Following the news and not liking what I see. Supposed to make landfall any minute now. Of course they're expecting catastrophic flooding.. sheesh what do they expect?
Ok.. besides you, BJ, Phyllis and Joey.. I'm praying hard too that my extended family in the vicinity of somewhere North Houston who insisted on toughing this out, escape Ike.
Jaye, they're saying that the residents in North Houston should be fine if they just stay put in their homes... as in don't get out and drive in the storm... South side of downtown Houston residents have been advised (not mandatory) to evacuate...
Your friends in Houston should be fine... if they just stay in their house.
BJ, 5.2 million people are expected to lose power tonight. So, if I don't see you or Phyllis posting, it's understood.
My friends are hurricane veterans.. so they would know what to do. They're just afraid of being looted. I told them that's what insurance is for.
And that is exactly why 25,000 people in Galveston refused to evacuate... they're expecting to have to rescue over 37,000 people on the gulf coast by Sat night.
I hope those people right on the gulf coast do like the police officer said, and write their name and SS# on their arm in permanent marker, so they can identify their body after the storm.
That would have thrown me into fierce reality there, BJ! Life or protecting something that's gonna outlive us! No way, I wanna be called out as body ss# _ _ _
But some people have their priorities backwards.
I agree... I can't think of one thing that I own that would be worth risking my life for.
Phyllis-I am about 45 min S of ann arbor....
Oh my....be safe all...
Hmmm.... The Hilton Hotel in Clear Lake City... not even directly on the gulf... just partially collapsed... crushed a Fox News truck... NOW, that's real scary...
It's right down the street from NASA space center...
Hilton??? Oh no.. that's no fly by night contractors building that!!
So, you can imagine how some of those stick built houses are going to fare..
I hope they got good insurance!
When Andrew did damage, State Farm took good care of us, unlike some other insurances.
They just reported on The Hilton... 2 floors of exterior wall, and windows on the Bay side are all over the parking lot, and nobody was hurt.... sheesh... that's a miracle.
Nobody was hurt?? You mean to say that Holiday Inn is still in operation? Yep... that's a miracle.
Yes... they've moved all the media indoors... they evacuated all the guests... so it's just media.
They just reported 130mph gusts in Galveston... that's on the verge of a Cat 4...
And the eye isn't even there yet... almost, but not quite.
Oh Lord please keep them all safe tonight, and not let them be separated from their loved ones.
been over on the iris form posting photos from my visit to Mid America Gardens, iris growers, all night. didn't mean to be antisocial. But I'm bushed. nighty night all.
I'm watching Geraldo standing his grounds against wind gusts. Isn't he too old to be doing this.. or too stupid..
Take care Bon.. catch you on the brighter side ;)
LOL... I saw the other day that his little brother is breaking into the news business... LOL...probably to take up the slack from the OLDER brother... huh?
Yep.... more likely to prop his older brother up!!
1/2 million people in Houston are already without power... sheesh...
Nope, I think the jury is in... Geraldo is just plain stupid... he's riding out the hurricane in Galveston... on the water's edge... hope someone loaned him their permanent marker.
BJ, I'm sorry.. am about to fall asleep at the keyboard.. so, I'll go nitey nite..
Post if you can, you too Phyllis. If not, call one of us so we'll know you're okay.
Will be saying some serious prayers in a while.
Be safe sistah, I'm glad you got your son with you.
LOLOL... we agree on something tonight.. hope it's not invisible ink, but one would recognize him by his moustache!!!
Be safe sistah!
I'm off to bed too... one can only take so much of this storm reports...
see ya tomorrow... hopefully.
Worrying worrying about my Texas sistahs. Can't sleep.
I'm worrying with you, Deborah.
It made landfall around 2 am? Is that right? So is it moving or just swirling around?
Debra, and Deborah... ya'll better get some sleep... I'm up and will worry for you now.
HI BJ! How's it going there?
Well, the sun hasn't come up yet, but so far, we don't even have a breeze.
It hasn't made it as far as Waco yet... JoJo is at her friends in Waco...

doug is sitting on the back porch drinking his coffee and I started a load of laundry since he didn't do ours yesterday but step s did his
