I am glad you ladies all got a good laugh-can't wait til Mem day can ya??

can I tell you I am soooo excited for this swap!! There is no price limit or anything right-just wahtever you think your buddy will love that scream "send me to my new momma"??

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

The price cap is ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!! No minimum :D

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well I am glad to provide a few chuckles today. Inspite of that, do encourage your others to please do so. Prostate cancer when it has spread into the bones is extremely painful and I would not want any of you to have to go through that with your loved ones!!!

You think this is bad, just wait until my board meeting next week--mostly men and they know it is September but then again they all knew DH and watch him go through this. I am just the thorn that keeps reminding them!!!!

Could I get in the caps too. I have a couple of ideas floating around in my head. Please don't faint--I do every now and then.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL-if one of us has that kind of $$, then I would REALLY love to be there buddy!!LOL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

..in other words the sky is the limit? Love it!!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Yuppers Auntie M!!

I would like the buddy that will send me themselves please-someone to come visit me:)

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

on the baked good Swap 1 million dollars is the cap????? WOW.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, Marion.... if anybody has any ideas... please dmail me or Tia... our heads are spinning around this so fast, we're dizzy.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Now, now, we musn't scare others..
One million dollars is actually the worth of one hour of anyone's labor on a gift especially when you have to think for more than an hour!!!!!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Didn't state that very well BJ. I would like to get some caps to play around with also. Of course, I will share what ever comes out of this feeble brain.

Exactly Jaye, when one gives of themselves in a gift it is priceless.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Very well said it is priceless.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Darn right Marion! The heart is a priceless thing.
Will send you a couple too Marion...probably by next week.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OH MY... will dmail you Marion... give me a sec.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to getting my insulin shots now!! Lol!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... Jaye.. don't overdose ... we'll get plenty, I think.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Humm, this has stated me thinking. Need to check with my sister as I think something similar can be gotten from the vets.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

LOL I am sitting here thinking about how a friend had to learn how to do it and they had him practice on an orange and it was a very soggy orange.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

No oranges.. practise on one's belly right away!!
Marion, this here is a set of regular insulin syringes.. their caps are different, much narrower.

well keep talkin girls I am off to the bank I just found out someone got a hold of my account info and has made a purchase through paypal so I just got done talking to them and have to go to the bank to fill out papers to get a new account and stop whoever it is from doing more damage *sigh*...just when ya think things are lookin up from a family member forging on you someone else pulls it you don't even know ...$#%#%UHB%$%&&^$#YHO*%%

bj will damil you back after work

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good luck Phyllis!! Wow.. wonder how that *&^^%$ got hold of the information?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, I just had a long talk with the office manager of the clinic in town... and we might have an issue with using those "pen caps"... That cap is made to secure back onto the needle part for disposal.
Collecting just the cap is going to open up a can of worms of how to dispose of the needle by itself. It's illegal (in Texas, at least) to dispose of loose needles in the garbage. If we can get people to use a metal coffee can to dispose of the needle, then they have to fill the can with Plaster of Paris before they go in the garbage. Which might be a problem getting people to change their habits. Dr offices and clinics aren't going to collect the needles for them because bio hazard waste is expensive to dispose of...
I think we'll just have to come up with something else.

Sheesh... Diabetics have way more issues to deal with than just the disease.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Fairy, almost think I might be one of the closest to you right?

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Are you just across the Lake from Fairy, Bett?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Wow! Didn't know about that BJ.
I've been using old containers to dispose the needles. It was a good idea anyway.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, new news from our friend PlantRN... seems as though hospital nurses can not return the cap to the needle because they might get pricked by the needle. So, could be that hospitals can save us those caps for a good cause...

So, if any of you have a hospital nearby, you might want to ask them to save us the pen cap that comes with the insulin needles. Apparently they're different than other needle caps... I don't know that for sure, just an impression I'm getting.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Fantastic news!!! Nope no hospital nearby--have to go into Tally

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I just received this from a friend. Thought you might get a chuckle as we are such a well mixed, diversified group here. I hope you enjoy.

The difference between the North and the South - at last, clearly explained...
The North has Bloomingdale's, the South has Dollar General.

The North has coffee houses, the South has Waffle Houses.

The North has dating services, the South has family reunions.

The North has switchblade knives; the South has Lee Press-on Nails.

The North has double last names; the South has double first names.

The North has Indy car races; The South has stock car races.

North has Cream of Wheat, the South has grits.

The North has green salads, the South has collard greens.

The North has lobsters, the South has crawfish.

The North has the rust belt; the South has the Bible Belt.

FOR NORTHERNERS MOVING SOUTH . . ..

In the South: If you run your car into a ditch, don't panic. Four men in a four-wheel drive pickup truck with a tow chain will be along shortly. Don't try to help them, just stay out of their way. This is what they live for.

Don't be surprised to find movie rentals and bait in the same store...do not buy food at this store.
Remember, 'Y'all' is singular, 'all y'all' is plural, and 'all y'all's' is plural possessive
Get used to hearing 'You ain't from round here, are ya?'

Save all manner of bacon grease. You will be instructed later on how to use it.

Don't be worried at not understanding what people are saying. They can't understand you either. The first Southern statement to creep into a trans planted Northerner's vocabulary is the adjective 'big'ol,' truck or 'big'ol' boy. Most Northerners begin their Southern-influenced dialect this way. All of them are in denial about it.

The proper pronunciation you learned in school is no longer proper.

Be advised that 'He needed killin.' is a valid defense here.

If you hear a Southerner exclaim, 'Hey, y'all watch this,' you should stay out of the way. These are likely to be the last words he'll ever say.

If there is the prediction of the slightest chance of even the smallest accumulation of snow, your presence is required at the local grocery store. It doesn't matter whether you need anything or not. You just have to go there.

Do not be surprised to find that 10-year olds own their own shotguns, they are proficient mark s men, and their mammas taught them how to aim.

In the South, we have found that the best way to grow a lush, green lawn is to pour gravel on it and call it a driveway.

AND REMEMBER: If you do settle in the South and bear children, don't think we will accept them as Southerners. After all, if the cat had kittens in the oven, we ain't gonna call 'em biscuits.

I’m dog sitting so I might not be on much before Saturday. Don’t worry about me. Sorry if I missed anything, I’m just skimming, the kids got picked up early so I want to get back to grandma’s.

Stacey, can’t keep track sometimes.

Jaye, when I first got my DSD I was trying to clean up my language and one of the ones that stuck was “fudge monkeys”. My DH being the Smart A that he is, keeps saying they sound good and where does he get them. So, I’ve been trying to find monkey shaped fudge.

Tia, my prayers going your way.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks Marion.. also add.. in the South, we often say "Bless your heart".. there are different connotations and degrees of sincerity...
"Bless your heart" could be used too as a greeting.. or to thank someone.
And unspoken thoughts after telling you that..
Like "Bless your heart (I'm truly sorry you have all these troubles)". ...
or worse... "Bless your heart (your young'un so ugly only a mama could love)"
Letting y'all know..if you don't hear from me tomorrow evening..I'll be offline. Looks like Hanna will be paying us a visit. I pray not.

Laura, thank you for letting us know. Yep, we'll be hounding your Mum for sure!!

Oh Jaye, you and Kel take cover and be safe. I am more than ready for this season to be over with but unfortunately we have 2 more months to go. Jeepers!!

I would love to take credit for that post but it was sent to me. Just had a good laugh.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

We will, Marion. It will be one sleepless night tonight, glued to the weather channel.
If it's just us, it would be easier to seek shelter if we have to. But his parents are adamant that they ride out Hanna. Hanna's not looking too dangerous...hope Ike's not going to be a threat.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh I understand the problem. My mom and sister are like that and Charley almost caused them to have a nervous breakdown. Prayers with all of you and let us know as soon as you can. Be safe.

I am not wanting to think about Ike but unfortunately must to see what and where he is going with his wrath.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

I'll be worried all day long tomorrow if you don't report in, Jaye.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Awww.. "Bless your heart" :D
Deb, we'll be telling dem storms how BIG our LORD is!!!!!!!!

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

You got that right! I'll be praying and will pull out an extra card out of my jar for you in the morning.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

well a chance to sit and catch up now.
got a hold of pay pal and they have closed the account that was opened wtih my info.
they said it will be 7-10 days for the money to return to my bank.
went to the bank and they canceled the debit card and are issuing me a new one
filed a report wtih the sheriff's department since we live in the country
So tomorrow I call pay pal back and see if by chance there is an isp number anyplace in connection with the account so the police can have it to see if they can track it to find out where bouts this person is...or maybe they will contact hotmail and see if there is any personal info in the account or contact the person the money went to and see what they have for info.

You ladies out east please take care will be watching the weather channel also and asking for safety for y'all
