My boss is running around the office like Chicken Little "the stock market is falling, the stock market is falling". Now that is a way to build morale! The best thing is - I haven't got much to lose! :)

As I said, I can see me at Dunkin Donuts, aged 80, snarling at all my customers! Or I can always sub--but that's a last resort! The pay is miniscule! Right now I'm refusing to look at the Stock Market coverage. If everyone would stop the panic sell-off, we would all be in a much better place.
Yes - what we are seeing now is pure panic. No rhyme or reason to the market plunge right now. And it never changes. People are so predictable. They always panic sell and lock in their losses. Conversely, they become intoxicated on the upside and lose all sense of risk and will buy anything at any price.
Last week is looking real good by comparison!
I didn't like this morning's opening of trading being A Special Report that interrupted programming. The media is just playing into the panic just so they can doom and gloom us as always. The Idiots are ruling the kingdom right now.
Waiting for it to find a bottom. I just glance at up or down each day and haven't touched a thing. Looks like there's no retirement in sight. Guess I'll hafta stay healthy.
I remember the bloodbath in 2000. I left a staff meeting to go check on the market. When I got back they all wanted to know what happened. It had gone down some insane amount - like this past two weeks. 'What's the news?!', they all yelled before I was even in the room. I came in, sat down and said simply, ' At least we have our health'.
Yeah, booj.....being retired at the moment seems delusional....but there ya have it........yep, we're retired alright! Gulp!
The stupid economy - Thats why us gardners are top shelf. I go to the store - TOONA was 1.25 a can now 1.50 for 2 cans.
Hershey candy bar was 2 pkgs for 6 bucks now - 3.49 for 1. Last time I got a bag of walnuts was 4 something and now 5.99. This is the local super market. I dont do sams or cosco as they are at least an hour drive.
So us gardners can grow that tomato, cuke or squash and not pay the big poundage dollar. Next year it will be TOMATOES, CUKES, PEPPERS AND SQUASH and more TOMATOES, CUKES, PEPPERS AND SQUASH Next it just might be a chicken, cow, pig and a peacock!

I just dmailed Candyce and told her that I might not be able to make it tomorrow. The cat I took in when my dear neighbor died got out of the house today and got hurt in a cat fight. His eye is damaged and it isn't bad enough to need emergency care - but I don't know if and when I can get him into the vets tomorrow. I will just get up early and take him and wait. It is a 3 hour dirive for me to get to NH - so if I have to wait until noon or so to get in at the vets, or if Sampson needs to be watched or treated every couple of hours - I won't be able to come. That darn cat! He has been with us for two months and this is the first time he has even tried to escape. I will dmail Candyce when I know for sure tomorrow.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you tomorrow. I will be there around noon-1pm. I think it will be at least a 3+ hour drive for us. But the weather looks great!!!!

Well, looking forward to seeing you all. I'm thinking the way the economy is going, I wouldn't be surprised if Dunkin' Donuts loses a lot of business in the near future, as people won't be able to afford it anymore. I'm thinking I may be getting to that point soon. I'm a big customer of theirs, I have to admit, but I need to start saving money and stop getting so much coffee out and also stop eating out so much. Sigh! We all do what we must.
