Woo Hoo... just talked it over with Don... here's what we came up with so far.
We'd like to have our get together here over Memorial Day weekend... end of May, while it's still cool enough to enjoy... DARN, hope that's good for everyone.
AND, we're not going to finish the sun porch before ya'll come... we'll get it air conditioned, but won't wall up the three sections... leaving it open will allow us to rent some roll away beds, and set up a dormitory style sleeping area. I figure we can get about 10-12 full sized beds out there. BUT, ya'll might need to bring sheets with you, and your pillows.
He's even going to put in for vacation days that weekend... and that's a real treat...
We also have 50 amp electric hook ups for ONE camper... but no dumping...
I'm sure if anyone else brings a camper, we can find a camp site somewhere close.

Oh gosh that sounds like a wonderful plan. Count me in. May is when the shrimp is on sale in NO dont know about there in TX.
Oh my all these sweet hubby's!! Really makes me miss mine even more--if possible. Now to put a date on trip jar for next year!!
I'll make a trip early May to Kemah... will get my sister to drive with me... it will be a fun trip for us. NOTHING is on sale in Kemah... but it's cheap enough right off the boats... worth the trip for sure.
I want to say we got the shrimp for a buck a pound in NO.
Nope-nothing from the sea, as long as there is a McD's close and someone can take me though, I am fine!!:) I don't like seafood and certain things I can't stand the smell of-turns my tummy-sorry:( I love ribs, chicken, steak, and other stuff though...no sausage and no porksteaks/chops.....but I trylu do love most things:) I would've benn happy with everything so far I heard you all ate at Kathy's:)
Oh Tinky we can change you. LOL
Nu uh-not doin it-DH has tried for over 10 yrs now...
I just can't believe that--oh yes, wait I can. Son didn't learn to like seafood until he grew!!
I am grown and nope-still don't like it....DH only cooks it when we can open all the windows in the house so it can air out and only when I am not home...sorry:(
Oh I am sure we can throw some ribs and or chicken on the barby.
My goodness, all these plans getting made, but I have to agree with Stacey, I don't do seafood. I will eat shrimp, if it is battered and fried, but that is about it. My hubby is from Maryland, and he keeps trying to get me to eat some oysters, or crabs! Just can't do it... So I will have some of the fried turkey. That sounds really good. Or I can bring some ribs to grill?
Sounds like a lot of fun!!!
Linda Kay
Not to worry Stacey and LK... we'll cook the seafood in a pot on the pit outside... and I'll have plenty other for ya'll that don't like seafood... you will not go hungry.
OK-good-otherwise I was thinkin LK & I might both have to do McD's
LK... I do hope your feet are better by Mem Day weekend... and your Dad is taken care of so you and hubby can join us.
OH... and everyone is welcome to bring their DH, or SO, or whoever you want.
NO McD's while you're here... way too far to go... a whole 10 miles I think.
Why mem day??
We can double up on the scootie that Don might let us drive;)
Well, Don and I thought it would still be cool enough Mem weekend to enjoy the outdoors.
PLUS, I might just have blooms then.
OOO-so we are talking memorial day for the next get together??
Yes... at my house... it should be a long weekend for most... others might want to stay longer and take some vacation days.
I can come up early and stay late to help prepare and clean up.
It will have to be a vacation for me-I can't see flyin for 2 days:) I will have to start saving up for it, a flight is $$:)
Ooo.... that would be too wonderful.
Yes, I know... but once you get here... you're home free... no expenses.
When I send my "cute critter" to my buddy, may I
also send fudge? I am known as the "Fudge Lady".
I make about 800 pounds of it a year. Mostly for
Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I also make it for
birthday gifts, ceamy peanut butter fudge for the
mail lady, sell it, give it to friends, neighbors,
everyone at the Doctor's office, the staff at the
hospital if I have to have a surgery done, my
daughter is a paramedic, so I send a bunch for her
crew, I send some to Iraq to my nephew, some to
Wales and Romania, and just about everywhere.
Everyone says its the best fudge they have ever had.
I make chocolate fudge with or without nuts, creamy peanut butter fudge, chocolate fudge with Heath bits, divinity, and tiger butter fudge.

pick me pick me I want to be your swap buddy. I am just teasing. I am sure you can send what ever you like to as long as there is what the swap is all about also. Like my swap buddy for another swap has a special day so I am going to add something for that to her. No clues given right?
I can't imagine any critter swap buddy that would refuse your fudge... I know I wouldn't mind it at all !!!!!....
I am sending other stuff with mine too and got extra stuff to go with my feeder too:) Heck no would we mind!!
Oh I do hope your swap buddy is me!!! Me please, oh please be me!! Fudge, the second thing in the food pyramid for sure.
2nd what is 1st, taters?????
I think this is what makes these swaps so special--we each have a tendancy to put a little of ourselves with something extra for our friend. How blessed can we be?
