(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

omg we need recipe.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. We are doing ok here. I have to run, and get my truck checked out. It is shaking a little in the front end, so before I start driving all over the place, I need to take care of it.
That cake sounds so good! Sounds like you all had a taste of it before it was dropped so it was not a total loss!

Yep... we ate cake while playing poker Sun nite... really really big pieces of cake. So, it was only about 1/2 a cake left for... not all lost.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Actually I have two pieces. One after dinner and one playing poker. I could have sworn each piece was 1/2 a cake. I ate it all! Now that's what I call a hunk of cake!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

lol sounds good, I would have had a hunk of it also.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

yep... I think Kathy was trying to fatten us all up.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

not li'l ole me!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I can see that guilty look on your face now... LOL... you know you were doing that...

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Poor Joyce is afraid to weigh in at the doctor now... bet she's starving herself to loose it before her next visit.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

I can't button my garden shorts this morning. :(

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh goodness, Kathy fed ya'll very well.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OH, YES... very well... she had a never ending spread... everything and all you want to eat... all the time...

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

We were non-stop eating machines.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

lol that is to funny.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning Sistahs. Next time, we'll intentionally have seafood at the next gathering..gonna teach Stacey good eats!! Lolol!
Deborah, your Brunswick stew reads delicious. Over here the stew is made with unidentifiable veges :( and yucky..and of course I always avoid that on any menus.
Tia, Justin taught me to cook too.. yeah.. with a bottle of wine as stock ;)
Poor cake. I had made something like that with strawberry jello running through it. Lemon, you say..that will be a hit with Kel.
We are watching Hanna very closely too. Some predicted as BJ says, running along the coast. If it does that, it will follow Floyd's path and Floyd did major damage here. This house was the only one not flooded out as it's standing on a man made hill. Kel said, the town was proud of Dan Rather in town that day---but none could catch him on telly as the power was out!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey... we did our part... and she exhibited the ULTIMATE in Southern Hospitality...

I can't compete with that... so, when ya'll come to my house, I hope no one expects all that.
Oh, ya'll will eat, I promise... but, I can't even imagine that much food in my house at one time.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Mornin Jaye

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Bj, we'll eat seafood at your house. Cause I'll be fishing in the lake. We'll throw a burger on the grill for Staceypoo and we can eat a low country boil outside on your deck!~

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Sounds good to me... everyone has to catch their dinner.... LOL...

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh yea we will eat great at your place. And I'll help.(say it like the little girl in the shake and bake commercial). I will bring pickled eggs.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i'll bring thefried turkey so we don't starve to death trying to catch our food

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I can catch just wont take off the hook.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

lol Kathy

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i take of the hook and gut them

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I can gut and clean them after they are dead, if they wiggle I get jumpy.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... you catch em..I'll clean em... then we'll all throw our own in the fryin pan.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lolol Tia!!!
Bring the fried turkey.. I'll try to 'shrimp' for y'all!!
Oh boy, aren't we ravenous now??

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... this is way too funny... already planning the menu for a party NEXT YEAR...

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

bj, want an upside down jello cake? LOL

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

when I was down in NO last year, we went to a all you can eat buffet. OMG the frog legs the crab legs and the shrimp was just the best eating I ever had in my entire life.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

we want the recipe.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

How far are you from Galveston? I'm already for Gaido's! Can you duplicate a couple of their recipes? LOL

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Actually... I'm thinking I need to make a trip down to Kemah for some fresh shrimp before ya'll come... cause frozen store bought shrimp is awful... in Kemah, I can buy it right off the shrimp boats.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

1 white cake mix
1 box orange jello
2 boxes frenchvanilla mouse mix

bake the cake, let cool 15 minutes. mix the jello w/ 2/3 cup boiling water. stir until disolved, then add 2/3 cup cold water.
punch holes in cake, then pour jello over it. put in refridgerator for at least 2 hours. meanwhile, make the mouse according to the package directions. cover and put in refridg.

when readt to serve, put mouse on the cake. pick it up and drop it upside down!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

you got that right, we got some down in NO right off the boat. I am only 3 1/2 hrs from you BJ.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

While you there, pick up a crocker sack of oysters. LOL We can have an oyster shuckin' and an oyster roast on the new bbq pit Don will build. We gotta come in a month with an R in it.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Just tell one shrimp boat to dock at your place... BJ!! lolol!!
Ok.. my dearest hubby and bestest friend just called.. he needs help..
talk to you all later! Guess I'll be having a poboy or left over black bean chilli for lunch!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Roas?? I'll eat it chilled on the half shell................
ok..I'm going..don't you all be planning on food while I'm gone...........

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

LOL thanks Kathy. I make a chocolate cake and then break it up into pieces and layer it in a very large bowl, I use the top of a glass cake cover inverted, then add caramel, chocolate sauce, hot fudge,( all these are ice cram toppers) whipped cream and nuts if you want, then repeat the layers then top with shipped cream. Gone in a flash, no time to drop on floor.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Oysters on the half shell with parmesean cheese sprikled on top and quickly heated to get the cheese warm. Yum Yum
