Robin - I'm not ready to dig up my caladiums and glads either!!! What is with this 40 stuff??? I agree that it was a 10+ day here too. Sparkling!!!
Todays Weather in Your Garden - 29
Wow - are you guys really going to get that cold?! We are forecast to hit 45 early Thu Am, so we're not far off. Brrr.
Yup! At least that's what they're saying! Boo!
We have nitly 40's predicted for We-Fri. nights.
Steller day Monday.
I'm on the deck with ice on the foot.
Raining today and another great sunny one tomorrow.
Frustrating to see all the deadheading that need to be done. Especially the older hostas I don't want to multiply.
that was the worst part for me when I twisted my ankle last year.... 65 out now... supposed to get thunderstorms tonight and we are supposed to have a high of 45 tomorrow also
:(
DD is helpful and took yesterday off to interview people for the new kitchen and furnace. I'll miss her today.Foot is feeling better, the walker is a nuicence and makes simple jobs harder.
Feel better, Jo Anne. 63 and cloudy here. Rain predicted.
47ºF Low tonight and 49ºF Low tomorrow night.
Looks like I spend a busy day bringing the tropicals into the greenhouse already

It's been raining during the night and continues lightly, 1/4 inch overnight.
foggy and soggy here, light rain through the night, 57 at 9:20 am cool, dry air coming in later.
Yesterday was gorgeous, got a lot of garden work done late when my new garden helper showed up.
Coolish with a breeze. Weather man on TV remarked that yesterday was nice without the sea breeze. NOT SO Mr. Weatherman, a breeze makes it easier to work in the sun. Rain has hit the Berkshires according to the reports. Must run out & move some plants before it arrives.
It just got REALLY dark here storm clouds rolling in from the north, windier than it was when Hannah came thru. 74 degrees
Here comes the thunder and rain.
bin rainin all day here
Had some big thunder before. Now a steady, heavy rain. 3/4" so far.
suns cummin and goin
I saw the line coming and lo and behold it went around us again. We got just a smidgeon of rain out of it. Current temp 70.
Rain passed through--only 1/2" with thunder--means the cold front has passed.
Flowerjen and Weezer, are you guys okay? This latest storm seemed to be worse than Hanna for you. At least that's the way it looked on radar. There were some circular patterns they said. Just thinkin of you.
it was pretty bad here today... what was left standing in my garden after hanna... is now down today
:(
I really thought it was building up to be a twister, I've never seen clouds building up and blowing like that. It was REALLY windy and the rain came down but didn't rain hard for very long, reports say only 1/2"
So sorry Allison. You too Jen if you ended up with damage.
Bummer, Allison. Sorry to hear that! We were down in Conn. all day and boy did it get dark and stormy there. We slipped out just in time tonight to avoid another downpour, I think. Prediction is now that it will be 37 here tomorrow night. What will happen to my dahlias???? They are still loaded with blooms yet to open. :(
Allison, sorry bout the downfall of your plants.
Louise, can you cover them with a sheet or something? I'm pulling at straws here. Don't even know if that is feasible. Just tryin to be helpful.
I am lovin sleeping at night with the windows open.
I have no idea how much rain fell, but did you see that radar?! That line of thunderstorms ran from Maryland to almost Maine!
don't know if it's all the dampness out tonight... but man I am freezing
Only 1/2" of rain today while cold front came through. Very false alarm for us.
48* now and a high of 67 predicted.
57 now ... high of 70 then dropping to 46 tonight
Hi All,
I know it's been a bit since I've been around. We felt Hanna by the rain. Not a lot of wind whicxh is amazing for us since we get wind with no problem living on a ledge. We got pounded by the rain but no flooding. Everything stayed intact.
As for yesterday's rain and thunder. We didn't get heavy downpours, just downpours. Lots of thunder but not that much lightning.
As for today, it's cool out. 48 degrees here so far. Tomorrow morning it's suppose to be really cool. Some are expecting their first frost. Not a killing frost yet. Yesterday I heard some Canadian geese over head. So they are getting ready to leave.
Have a great day all. ^_^
Interesting tidbit about Canadian Geese.
They don't fly in July when their wing feathers are molting.
We have both migraters and natives here due to Mendon Ponds.
Sure enough end of Aug. they are over head, I never seem to be able to catch them with camera.
Currently 61 high expected of 70's partly cloudy
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Gorgeous, but chilly. 53 and clear. Great day for my hike.
54 right now, won't get much above 64 today and out low is dropping to 36-41 tonight with frost advisories in some places.
YUK! it's too soon!
My cousin up in Rockland is hurrying to get her flowers for dying, gathered befor they will be frozen and useless.
She is into natural dyes and grows her own flowers.
I'm wondering if I have enough sheets, blankets ect... to cover all my garden. I still have squash, peppers, tomatoes, ect out there!!
Butternut squash should be alright, summer squash and Zuchini and tender vedgs would be at risk.
Cousin just has no idea when the big frost will come.
One is all you need.
Good luck.
First frost date is usually mid Sept, thats a week from now.
We'll see, everything else is early around here.
53 now. Not sure of last night's low.
Wow, Allison, sounds like you got hit worse than I did. Except for my basil none of my containers got knocked over.
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L day today. The windows are open!!! High of 73 low of 53
Our frost date isn't till Nov.
