Steambath here at the moment. We did get an inch of slowly falling rain overnight. TV says watch the women's tennis finals overnight. I would be surprised.
Todays Weather in Your Garden - 29
The air feels like a swamp here too. It has begun to rain again. Yippie!!! It is 75 degrees with a dew point of 74, that's about as icky as it gets around here. We have a tropical storm wind watch and flash flood watch. I am hoping for at least three inches total from this storm. All of you will get more if it keeps going the way it is headed.
Started to rain around 3:30. Only about 1/4 inch so far, for a total of 1/2 inch for the day. Seems to be picking up in intensity now.
Feels Like:76°
Barometer:29.88 in and steady

Dewpoint:70°
Wind:SSW 6 mph
Sunrise:6:08 am

Humid, sticky and the wind is picking up slowly...very cloudy but no rain yet. How is everone else?
Hanna is heading our way too. No rain yet though it is starting to show signs that it is coming. I just went through the yard to turn the tables and chairs over so they would have the least amount of profile exposed. I brought in the glass tops and put away some things in the shed. I need the rain, desperately. I am not going to do anything to the boats. Fingers crossed. I reset the wind gage to read on the inner band which reads to 120mph. Don't expect it much past 40, but that is all the outer band goes to. I set it to record any wind gusts above 40mph. I will do the usual storm prep, though I don't expect much and it is out of the SE so that is best for me. My veggie bed will take a hit if anything does. Be safe all. Patti
Hang on Victor! Although it won't be too windy, it will be blustery and lots of rain for you it looks. Just saw the radar for LI. You are going to get soaked!
Hanna will be here late this evening with up to 5" of rain. It just began to rain very lightly. It looks like we are in for a wet night.
Pouring now. 1 1/2 inches so far.
totally missing us
But you had lots this year, didn't you, Deb? 2 1/4 inches so far.
We had a lot of rain earlier in the year, I haven't had to water very much.
Rain has stopped for now. Getting some wind now. Total from storm stands at 3".
It's been raining a nice soft rain for about an hour now. I live 30 minutes from the coast so I'll feel some wind but nothing major.
It's the flash flood warnings for New Hampshire and Centeral Maine I don't like. Isolated spots could get as much as 6" of rain and the majority will fall within a 5-6 hour time frame.
Anybody have an Ark?
Nothing yet. No wind or rain. Want the rain. Patti
Rain here again.
Pouring here and the wind is picking up the trees are starting to wave.
Done here - about 4 1/2 inches.
Wow!
Pouring very heavily!
up extra early today... too much relaxing yesterday I guess.... looks like we have a ton of clean up today... not sure what are rain total was but my guess would be 6 or 7 inches... there were some gusts of wind last night that actually made me cringe .... so many large trees behind the house... it freaks me out
Sounds like quite the storm. We only had a couple sprinkles.
No rain but lotsa clouds.
Today looks sunny with PM showers. The Clothesline Art Show will be great.
It's hard work in the rain, especially for people who have work on paper.
Survived...had some real good downpours and some wind, but nothing like we could have had.
It's beautiful out now. I'm heading out with my coffee in a few minutes!
Haven't seen the sun yet, but should before the morning is over. I had a difficult time sleeping last night as the center of the low pressure system got closer and closer. Those things interrupt my sleep pattern every time, whether it be rain or snow. Anna and I will be checking out the gardens soon, as we got A LOT of rain, but very little in the way of wind. Then, it's gonna be nap-time for me later on today.
BTW ~ I started a 'Roll Call' thread for everyone to check in and let us know how we all fared. I worry about my DG friends. It's just in my nature.

Wow!
What a beach!
What a mess, too!
Hanna did very little here. I will need to water my porch plants. Wind never got to 40, maybe a gust of 30 and nothing sustained. So very lucky as far a wind damage at my house. I will go and check on the boats, but assume they are fine as no doubt one of the wharf rats would have called with a heads up if either were in trouble or just thrown on another line. Nothing better than the waterfront community here. Sunny with a nice breeze. Beautiful morning. Hope all are fine.
Now watching Ike. I don't want it to go anywhere, but especially not back to New Orleans. Patti
It would be nice if Ike just went away ~ poof! But, those 'guys' never seem to act like we want them to act.

Less than 13 hours of daylight! *sigh*
1" of rain early on & 3" last night. Branches down here & there.
Some major wind during the night! Still having gusts around 25 mph. Will do a check of the property later.
Awesome-looking clouds, Victor.
That is one serious cloud! (hehe - not cirrus)
Or sirius - the dogs would be barking at it!
Beautiful evening. Sleeping with the windows open is great. This in-between time is wonderful - after a/c and before heating. 70 with a slight breeze once in a while.
Victor, you are sleeping already?
Early to bed, and early to rise...
I agree, the in-between time is great!
Ha ha - not yet. Never before 10:30 - 11:00.
Supposed to be mostly sunny. Rain tonight.

Beautiful morning - 63 and clear as a bell.
It was a top 10er today--spent a few hours in the garden---found another bird body on the porch---not a happy birdwatcher! Will sleep well tonight--cool already---storms tomorrow & then a low of 40? What's with that so early--- can't like it much---my peppers are still in their infancy!
