Hanah will be here Sat. night into Sunday morning and dropping 3-6" of much needed rain. Like Victor said, we need it but it would be nice if it came down a little slower.
59° right now, should reach 82 today.
Todays Weather in Your Garden - 29
Another 90 degree day here, started out really foggy, now it's hazy sun.
We def need the rain. Besides water for the plants, trees, lawn-we had a leak by our sliding glass doors in our dining room, we need to see if the contractor fixed it.
About 85 now. Feels like summer.
It was 85 here today--glad I wasn't in a classroom! Had lots of storms yest. from about 5:30 to 11:30---had to wait til it ended so the dogs could go outside---still lightning in sky at 11:30.
Are you still teaching, Robin??
77 humid degrees this AM
partly sunny today
Rain predicted for Sat. but you know how that goes.
67 and humid. Waiting for Hanna tomorrow.
69 with dense fog. Hoping for Hanna tomorrow.
Hanna due here Sunday doubt it will amount to much but rain and wind.
Tuff on the artists in the local big Art Show.
Going to bring in the cushions for the lawn furn.
Late today ..... Supposed to be rainin'; maybe later. Sunny and cloudless at the moment.

We have muggies this morn! Very humid & still---rains from Hanna will be here this eve. Son & family have been in Block Island---told them to take the early ferry home! No, Victor---I'm not teaching---retired 9 yrs. ago---have enough to do teaching the grandkids!
Well I was wrong about yesterday, said it was going to be a high of 90......It hit 94!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way too hot for Sept. My son's classroom has no A/C, I gave the principal my biz card today.
Another 90 degree day.
Ha ha - great move, Jen!!
Good thinkin, Jen
good thing you aren't seeing THOMAS tomorrow. I think it would be a little soggy. We will miss you at Wellsweep next week.
92 here now and very hot winds.
Gunna fry everything.
Thanks!!!
Good thing we're not doing the Thomas thing this wknd. I'm just worried about Ike now.
We'll have to do something at Wellsweep next year, oh well.
Very dry and warm here today. Even though we are expecting some rain from Hanna tomorrow, I had to water everything in my flower gardens today. The flowers have become quite entitled and were screaming for help. I enabled them.
Tomorrow is our birthday outing to do something fun with our 4-year-old grandson. Our plans are to visit a children's museum, so hopefully the rain won't matter much!
I harvested the rest of my potatoes and onions since the rain may be a soaker. My garden is winding down......still some green beans and some broccoli and tomatoes.
Happy Birthday to your grandson, Louise! Enjoy the day.
Louise, when did you start your potatoes? I'm trying some in a garbage can (new) and haven't checked yet.
New potatoes or new garbage can??^_^
new garbage can!! potatoes too, I guess! heehee
Rain from Hanna supposed to be 1-3". 1" around here. We shall see.
She supposed to give us a big fat kiss tomorrow...here's our warnings - http://www.midatlanticwx.com/hw3/hw3.php?config=&forecast=warnings&place=ronkonkoma&state=ny&zipcode=11779&country=us&county=36103&zone=NYZ078 . I made sure the ditch to divert the water was a bit deeper - nice black soil under the wood boards....no wonder my hedges are doing better! Also turned my patio chairs on their sides and put the umbrella away. I'll be home all day, so I can keep an eye on things. My sister lives in Myrtle Beach. I'm thinking she'll be fine even though she borders the intercoastal with wetlands behind her. The people east of 17[Kings Hwy] will probably have a tougher time of it. I keeping my eye on Ike...I don't trust him....
Yes - good luck to everyone! Ike looks a lot meaner.
Thanks, Victor! I'm looking forward to it!
Deb - I planted the potatoes on May 31st. I dug most of them about a week or 10 days ago, and just got around to digging the rest today. We had Yukon Golds baked tonight....very yummy. My favorites are the Red Norlands though. I love them cooked with the green beans. I also picked all of the big onions much earlier too. Today's harvest was the smaller ones that were left in the garden. I still have carrots to go, and a new planting of radishes that will be ready soon. The cubanelle and red bell peppers are still going too.
I have sweet potatoes growing, haven't checked on them yet.
Ike may be going right across Tampa...DD is nervous. She has been making arrangments to move back to Maine next month but is thinking she should of left a month earlier!!
First band of Hannah showed up. Rain, sweet rain.
we had some rain over night.... just wanted to wish everyone good luck ... hopefully no damage tonight
We expect rain all day.Goody hope they are right.
Little bits o' rain.

Nothing much yet. Just cloudy. No wind. 77.
Some rain overnight---very warm & humid right now----rain totals range from 3-5 in. depending on what forecast you listen to----hoping for only one!
Yes, we had 1/4 inch overnight too.
Finally a shot at some decent rain totals. Over an inch early this am. Very humid still and overcast now with the temp at 75 degrees. Waiting for the main storm to get here this evening and through the night. Hope the wind is not too strong and the rain keeps coming down. As is the usual pattern this year the really heavy rain totals are just north and west of here but we could get another inch or two of much needed rain. I know most people are so sick of rain this summer but we have a drought down here and things are starting to get pretty crispy.
It seems to be picking up speed so the last I heard for our area was for less rain and more wind than had been forecast earlier. Just stepped outside for a few minutes - absolutely gross! Feels like late July or early August. Sun was popping out a bit.
gross here too Victor... feels like a steam bath
Radar shows it's not too far away now. Solid wall from Poughkeepsie to the PA/NJ border.
My SIL is camping in the Adirondacks.
