Just back from my hike. Absolutely gorgeous weather! I'll post some pics later. About 72 and breezy with a few scattered clouds.
Todays Weather in Your Garden - 29
Very pretty, and that picture needs to go into the reflections thread.
I'll reflect on it first...
You do that. lol
Looks like the freeze area is missing us completely, but not my brother. I'm sure he's not happy, but I am. Wonder if I should call him and ask if his Mountain life is still so great! lol
Cruel!
Cold & crop damage forcast for VT and nearby upstate NY, but warmer weather may return next wk.
pixie, that's what sisters are for, or so I have been told. (wink, wink)
current temp 74
46* now with average nightlys in the low 50's for the next 10 days.
todays high 74*
Today it's a chillly 40 degrees out. The north country is under a frost advisory until 8 this morning. And they are predicting that Ike will curve up and come at us this coming week. I guess he's getting hooked to the trough that's up in Oregon. At least we won't feel the full effects like Texas will.
56 and cloudy. Only went down to 51. So much for mid-40's.
It got down to 39, built a fire in the fireplace.....I will NOT put the heat on yet!!
Dare I repeat .... Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Wow - you guys are cold up there. I try never to put on any heat until into October.
we do the furnace mid october.
just wear a sweater.
61 right now, low was 54 high of 76 expected today. Another beautiful day.
This is where I am glad I live in a glass house ..... and hope for sunny days!
Even in the dead of the coldest winter days, if the sun is shinning, the furnace does not kick on until sometime after the sun disappears. Sometimes, the inside temp (upstairs) gets up to 100ºF and I have to open some windows.
Wish there was an easy way to store it.
I wonder how much heat I lose through the greenhouse during winter ....
Up in the middle of the night to change into warmer pjs. And I am south of VT & ME.
Wish I had a greenhouse, Willie! But today is cold & cloudy--was in Kent earlier (near the NY border) & it was sunny & mid-60's--sorry I came home! Will def. have the heat on to warm the house for a bit--too cold for my DH--& me, too! I left my orchids out last night--totally forgot about them--but we had a low of 40, so I'm sure they're fine.
I usually like to take a couple of weeks to get everyone back into the GH.
The shuffle can be quite interesting at times.
Little bit warmer for the next few days, but rainy.

I pulled out the climbing nastuers today filled a huge barrel.
Planted or sowed "Lettuce Poppies " where the spaces are from the nasters hope to see salmon and pink mops in the summer.
Its teaming down rain for over an hour now, glad I sprinkled those poppie seeds this AM.
I can't believe it. The lawn mowers ar in the hood in this rain.
A contract is a contract I guess.
Raining lightly now. 65.
Cool--cloudy--rainy---depressing! You're right, Sherri---just the beginning---hope this pattern changes before cold weather.

Of course it starts to rain as I'm leaving to run to the store and pick up my son from school.

HUMID and 68* everything is sticky.
Back from a family picnic today. Very humid, but luckily no rain.
Hope you had fun, Victor! It was a nice day here today, but it is supposed to be humid for the next couple of days.
Had lots of fun. From toddlers to my 86 year old aunt and uncle - great to see everyone.
Isn't it great when different age groups get together and have fun? That's what I like about our Fla. neighborhood.....all ages and everyone gets out and walks together, etc..
