Ok, so I'm a little out of practice... Jupiter tonight. ☺

What a cool pic, how did you take it?
It's 52 now
Hope there are some flowers left for Robindog and Debbilue's visit to night.
Impatiens are dropping blossoms right and left.

I love it! 59 and gorgeous. Nice 'photo', WC. Looks stormy on Jupiter - still.
Temp 65.1°, Wind NNE 7.1, Rh 52%, Baro 30.03 rising. ☺
Clear, blue skies this am, with a gentile breeze. Sunny skies forecasted with a high of 79° expected for today.
It's a technique called Eyepiece Projection FlowerJen. The camera (with normal lens) is clamped above the eyepiece of a telescope, this allows the focusing and metering capabilities of the camera to be utilized. An eyepiece with a long eye relief is chosen & an extra 2lb counterweight is added to the 'scope to compensate for the weight of the camera. The technique works well for bright objects which do not require long exposures.
The detail is dependent on the F-stop of the telescope & the size of the object is dependent on the magnification of the eyepiece. In this case the pic came out blurry, Jupiter is moving the fastest while it's moons are moving in the apparent opposite direction and the background stars to the upper right are moving the slowest, I set the scope to 'liberally' track Jupiter, but with high magnifications, errors are also magnified. ☺
Thanks Victor. Yes, quite stormy - (definetly not a place to go kite surfing!)
Wow - I did not think it was a real photo, WC. Must have been a really clear sky. What's the magnification of the scope?
Cool--in the 60s which is a nice change & better for garden work.
Nice and cool here today, as well. I'm hoping for an all-around late summer, sunny day!
WC, we just returned from visiting a friend who has several telescopes, and went to Russia to view the total solar eclipse earlier this month. Yesterday morning, he set up so we could view the sun! He has his own observatory and lives out on the north fork. - Lynn
Of course it's a real pic! lol!
The scope's mag is 1140mm the eyepeice gives me about 200x.
If you lighten the photo and check the moon positions you see that they are in the correct positions on 10:50 pm for yesterdays date. Last night was clear and - there was very little atmospheric disturbance from the heat. ☺
His own observatory! - That's better than a Porche! - lucky guy! ☺
Cool. How long was the exposure? I think I see someone on Io...
Nice. Do you ever use it to check out the heavenly bodies on the beach?? Hee hee. Gorgeous summer fall day!
41 here this morning....very cool night! On our way home from Conn. last night, the moon was huge and egg-shaped. Odd sight. This is one of those perfect pre-fall days......too gorgeous to believe! The plaster guy came and started working on our damaged walls.......we're making progress!!! Yay! 67 degrees here now.....no rain in the forecast for the next 6 days. Company coming this weekend.......but no guest room yet, so just for the day.....a serenity stop in their busy lives......that's what the woods offer!! And serenity is FREE!!!
This is the view from my office window.......
Cool enough to work on beds which are usually the most neglected because of the sun. As a result I have Cape cod Weeder Ache in my shoulder, but nasty deep rooted grasses are lying out to dry (and stay away you nasty plants).

Beautiful day
Another beauty of a day. 69 and clear as a bell. Was chilly at the Mets game last night - especially for the Braves! I'll try to take a shot of my neighbor's oxydendrum later.
Good morning! Beautiful day here too! 60 degrees and crystal clear at the moment. I need to get out there and treat my plants that have powdery mildew. I recall that several people were talking about the milk/water formula recently on one of the threads, but I can't find it. Does anyone recall the recipe for using milk etc. to treat plants with powdery mildew?? Thanks!! Louise
Hi Louise. I think it may have been the J. beetle thread.
Still wonderful here,planted four Chrysanthemums.
Lets see if they survive the winter.
Thanks, Victor! I'll check that out!
Loiuse, if you can't find it....
Here's one
1 1/2 tbs baking soda
1 tbs canola oil
1 tbs insecticidal soap
1 tbs vinegar
Temp has to be lower than 85 degrees
The other one with milk is just 1 part milk to 9 parts water( I used this 1 and didn't see a change but wasn't sure how often to apply)
Great weather high of 83 today and sunny
Yesterday was beautiful topped out at 80 ended up going down to the shore late in the afternoon, my kids would have stayed there all night! Last time we were down there my daughter was only 1 and ended up putting a handful of sand in her mouth. Guess she learned her lesson, no sand this year, just walked thru the water and kicking at the waves, too cute.
What a beautiful way to spend the day, Jen. I love the beach in the late afternoon, early evening. Who am I kidding, I love the beach any time, any day, all year long!
Currently 72°, sunny - gorgeous.
Thank you so much, Jen! Now I have both "recipes". Pixie d-mailed me the mikl one, so I am most grateful to you both for the quick response!!!
Oooooh......I've had lots of sand in my mouth......my DH thinks that's where I get my grit from. LOL
Currently 79°, beautiful, sunny, and a perfectly gorgeous day!!

Oh, good, Pixie!......just what I ordered for you today! LOL
Yes - perfect day here too. 81 and dry here.
Wow - pretty big, Louise. Were the wood ducks waterlogged?
Time for some bog plants!
Nice wetlands!
Thanks, Lynn. It is usually just a small brook that runs under the road at that point. The large beaver pond just beyond this spot has caused the brook to pond and several trees to die. From our bedroom window at night we can hear so many sounds of the critters in that pond - including a moose giving birth one night. I was exhausted in the a.m. LOL
